Chapter 1

3rd Person P.O.V

One clear sunny day had dawned over New York City in America. The sun's rays awakened two sleeping occupants of a ship. The two rose from where they had been asleep, briefly stretching to get the aches out. Alexander and Theodora Hamilton, brother and sister aged nineteen and fifteen respectively, had spent the last few weeks on that ship in order to reach New York from their old home in the Caribbean. And now, they were finally nearing New York. The two stood up, which revealed their very obvious height differences. Theodora stood at several inches shorter than her brother, with the top of her head coming to just above his shoulder. The siblings made their way above deck, carrying their only possessions with them in a bag over their shoulders, just in time to see the ship dock in the harbours of New York. Once the ship was safely docked and ready to be disembarked, Theodora and Alexander were the first to get off. Alexander took hold of his sister's hand and led her over to where they were required to register for American citizenship due to their being immigrants.

"Names and relation to each other?" The officer asked, looking up at the siblings.

"Alexander and Theodora Hamilton. Brother and sister." Alexander answered. The officer wrote down their names and stamped their papers, which were then handed to the siblings. With that, the duo set off in search of something to do. Now that they were in New York, their first objective was to familiarise themselves with New York. Sometime later, Alexander spotted a dark-skinned man walking in their direction, so he led Theodora over.

"Excuse me. Are you Aaron Burr, sir?" Alexander asked.

"That depends. Who's asking?" Aaron asked.

"My name is Alexander Hamilton, and this is my sister, Theodora. I've heard about you were able to get on the accelerated course ay Princeton, and I was wondering how to do the same." Alexander answered.

"It was my parents' last wishes before they passed." Aaron answered.

"You're an orphan? So are we. Although, when I was looking at enrolling myself and my sister at Princeton for an accelerated course study, I may have punched the guy who runs the financials." Alexander said.

"You punched the bursar?" Aaron questioned, looking at Alexander.

"Something came over him. He couldn't help himself." Theodora answered.

"In that case, might I offer you some free advice? Talk less, smile more. It will get you places quicker." Aaron said.

"Some very sound advice. But for the moment, I'd rather get out the hot sun. And considering we're from the Caribbean, that's saying something." Theodora said.

"Perhaps I could buy you a drink? Getting inside would help with the heat." Aaron offered. He led the Hamilton siblings towards a building that was a five minute walk from where they had been standing. Inside the building were three men sitting near the bar, each with a drink in their hand. One was dark-skinned, and his dark hair was tied back in a ponytail. The second was also dark-skinned and strongly-built. However, Theodora's gaze fell on the third man of the group, who seemed to sense someone looking at him, and he turned his head and his gaze met Theodora's, though the teenager quickly averted her gaze before her brother caught her looking. Then, the three men at the table broke out into loud exclamations.

"Show time! Show time! Yo! I'm John Laurens in the place to be! A two pints o' Sam Adams, but I'm workin' on three, uh! Those redcoats don't want it with me! 'Cause I will pop chick-a pop these cops 'til I'm free!" The third man, clearly named John Laurens, shouted out, raising his half-empty glass.

"Oui oui, mon ami, je m'appelle Lafayette! The Lancelot of the revolutionary set! I came from afar just to say "Bonsoir!" Tell the King "Casse toi!" Who's the best C'est moi!" The first man, Lafayette, spoke with a clear French accent

"Brrrah brraaah! I am Hercules Mulligan. Up in it, lovin' it, yes I heard ya mother said, "Come again?" Lock up ya daughters and horses, of course. It's hard to have intercourse over four sets of corsets." The second man, Hercules Mulligan, shouted to join his companions. At this, Hamilton pointedly covered his sister's ears, but the younger girl promptly pushed her brother away. However, that bit of movement caught the attention of the three men, and all three of them turned to look over at the three new arrivals.
