a/n: thank all of you for your suggestions. it's so hard to choose, though. what have i gotten myself into?

"that's so cool, [first name]. i haven't seen sei in ages.", shouyou exclaimed a little too loudly, attracting the attention of ushijima. "listen up, class. i will now tell you which groups you will be in.", you heard a few groans from your classmates as he said this. of course, everyone was hoping to be in a group with their closest friends. "group one: nitori, sawamura, tachibana and kozume." the four boys nodded. "group two: yamazaki, azumane, mikoshiba and yachi." you noticed that hitoka looked a little bit intimidated and you grinned. oh, will she ever learn that the guys in this class were nicer than she thought? "group three: nanase, oikawa, sugawara and kunimi." you sighed at the thought of being in a group with akira. it was most likely that haruka, koushi and you would be doing all the work. "group four: ennoshita, hazuki, hinata and nishinoya." grinning, you turned to look at chikara and mouthed 'good luck'. he glared back at you, but soon started chuckling. "group five: haiba, kageyama, matsuoka rin and inuoka." they all nodded. "and group six, consisting of three people: tanaka, yaku and matsuoka kou."

the rumbling of chairs being pulled across the floor filled the room as everyone started to find a place for their group to sit. about five minutes later the noise level had decreased and you could hear people whispering while you focused on reading the task you were supposed to complete. you noticed that akira leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms in front of his chest. leaning over, you flicked his cheek. "hey, don't fall asleep, asshole. i don't want to do your part again." he grunted in response. "i'm not sleeping, [first name]. calm down." - "well, you'd better not be, akira. i don't understand how you can always be that lazy.", koushi chimed in, making you giggle as his motherly side was showing. 

from across the room you heard nagisa, shouyou and yuu bickering back and forth. "oh, come on, noya. i don't understand that part. let me just do your part." - "shou-chan, i want to do that part, too." - "no, i was the first to choose it." chikara's face was buried in his hands, his thumbs massaging his temples. even though shouyou and nagisa were your best friends, you were kind of glad that you didn't end up in a group with them. chikara raised his head and looked at the three boys. "okay, listen. since you can't decide for yourselves, how about we do something else? i'll think of a number between 1 and 20 and whoever gets the number closest to the one i thought of can choose a part." they nodded and you grinned. of course chikara would find a way to solve this problem. "and don't complain if you don't get the part you wanted. we're a group, after all. so, if you don't understand something, there are three other people who can help you."

you turned back to your own group and started discussing the best way to split up the work, koushi all the while telling akira to pull himself together and listen for once. ushijima and ryugazaki were walking around the classroom, occasionally being asked a question by one of your peers. you could tell that the trainee teacher had a hard time keeping calm, as he was nervously pushing up his glasses every now and then. you found it kind of cute and deep down you just knew that you would get along with him pretty well, since he was only a few years older than everyone in your class. 

half an hour later you were almost finished with the group work. thanks to koushi even akira had eventually started working. the bell rang, and you had a short break before the second period would start. and naturally, you were attacked with questions by your two best friends mere seconds after ushijima had left to get the new student. "how long will sei be staying, [first name]-chan?", nagisa's eyes were widened in excitement. he had always admired your older brother. "um, i think my mum said that he'll have three weeks off. i don't think he'll be staying the full three weeks, though.", you mused. "i'll ask him later." - "ooh, it'll be so cool. so, he'll arrive on the first day of spring break, right?", shouyou asked you and you nodded. "right. oh, and my parents want to have a barbecue that day. they said i can ask my friends to come over. what do you say?" the two of them looked at each other and then back at you. "count us in, [first name]. who else will you invite?" - "i was thinking i'd ask-" the bell rang a second time, announcing the end of the break. and right as the piercing sound rang through the classroom, your teacher entered the classroom, followed by a tall boy with short white hair. nagisa and shouyou hurried back to their seats. "from now on this will your new classmate, aone takanobu.", ushijima gestured towards the boy and takanobu nodded, his face holding an angry expression. he reminded you of tobio. 

"since no group finished their assignment we'll use the second period as well. aone, please join tanaka's group and let them explain the task to you." as his name was mentioned, tanaka raised his hand and waved at takanobu who slowly walked through the classroom and over to the group. hitoka froze as he passed her and you found it hilarious. you made a mental note to go talk to him once lunch break would come around and watched as kou tried her best to avoid looking at the new student. you shook your head and grinned. you would never understand these two.

1. who would you invite for the barbecue? (and istg if you list every single karasuno, nekoma, fukurodani, shinzen and ubugawa character i'll stab a bitch. because i would do that if it wasn't my book.)

2. which group will completely mess up the assignment in general or the presentation in front of the class?

3. what do you guys think of the reader having a crush on an upperclassman/classmate? and if you like that idea, tell me which character the crush should be. (tbh, my choice would be either bokuto or kuroo. oops.) 

3.1. also, are there any cool, reliable senpais you'd like to see?

4. since i want to include ittetsu takeda as another teacher, what subject do you think he would teach? i'm kind of tempted to let him teach german, but if you guys don't like that, then just tell me, please.

5. what do you think so far? do you have any wishes/suggestions for certain scenarios or the storyline in general? let me know.

a/n: every character that is not mentioned in this chapter can and maybe will be used later on in this story (in different positions, such as maybe neighbour, senpai, kouhai, principal, family member etc). i chose seijuro mikoshiba as the brother, because i thought that it'd be a really nice idea, since it's canon that he's very protective when it comes to his sister. that also means that he will be seijuro oikawa in this book/the following chapters and momo will not be his brother.

also, i have already decided that iwaizumi will definitely the pe teacher, so please don't suggest him for any other position.
