Telling the Village

Astrid-

I've been pregnant for about 2 months now, and its starting to get noticeable. The other day Snotlout called me a melon! If he wasn't Hiccups cousin he would be dead by now. Me and Hiccup talked last night, and we decided to tell the village.

LAST NIGHT

"Hiccup, I think we need to announce it. Snotlout won't stop bothering me. Everyone is suspicious."

Hiccup sighed and nodded. "I just don't want everybody going nuts. You know how they get when they are excited. Its a nut house! And I'm so new to being chief that I don't even think I could do it!" I played my head on Hiccup. He hugged me.

"You need to get some sleep, Hiccup. You have been so busy lately." I said as I kissed him.

"You need some sleep too, but I guess I will rest." Hiccup laid down on the bed. I snuggle close, falling asleep not long after him.

BACK TO PRESENT

The village was called into the Great Hall. The balcony made more room, so now every viking could fit in. A huge fire was put in the middle, because it's so big that it takes a lot of heat to keep the place warm. Hiccup and I sat down at the middle, everybody was quiet as we got ready to speak.

"We... have some news." Hiccup said, glancing over at me to make sure I was comfortable. I nodded and smiled as I stood up.

"We have an heir to the throne of Berk. I'm pregnant!" I said. And just like that Snotlout jumped up idiotically and yelled, "I knew it!!"

I laughed, he was glad that he was going to be an uncle. Poor dude can't find his other half. The one he was meant to be with.

The whole village erupted. Valka was crying, even though she knew, but she was still filled with joy. I kissed Hiccup. And out of the crowd came someone I thought I'd never see again.

"Heather!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face. "Its been over 5 years!"

Heather bolted up to me, and she embraced me. "I can't wait!" she said. She too started crying. I was quite surprised, I've never seen Heather cry before!

Mala and Dagur followed, with two young children, a boy and a girl.

"Brother!" Dagur said as he hugged Hiccup. Hiccup laughed, he missed Dagur. He was a good friend of Hiccups, even though he tried to kill us when he was younger.

"Hiccup Haddock." Queen Mala said as she shook his hand.

The two young children ran up to me and hugged me. "Those are Dak and Leyla, our twins." Queen Mala said, ruffling Daks hair.

I laughed as I hugged them back. "Hey Astrid, do you wanna go catch up?" Heather asked. She had grown a lot. She was taller, he long black hair down and flow.

"Sure." I said. I kissed Hiccup and we walked out into the prairies.

"So, what have you been up too?" she asked as she sat down at the cliff.

"Well, me and Hiccup are married. I'm pregnant, and as you can see the dragons are gone."

Heather sighed. "Windshear and all of the other dragons flew off too. We didn't understand until we finally got your letter. It took forever to get here. We were wondering if you had any room here at Berk for our tribe. Dagur and Mala are kinda sick of being rulers. They said they would surrender to you and Hiccup if they can move here."

I laughed. "Of course you can!" Heather hugged me.

"So, you found the perfect one for you yet?" I asked. Heather blushed furiously.

"Yeah, about that I wanted to ask you something. Is Fishlegs still free?" she asked.

"Poor dude, can't find his beloved. Same with Snotlout."

Heather laughed, and she whispered in my ear.

"Can I talk to him?" she asked. I nodded and led her to his greenhouse, and wished her good luck.

Then I returned to the Great Hall, where I found Valka.

"Its been quite the year, hasn't it?" she asked.

I nodded. Quite the year.
