Hiccup- I'm really worried about Astrid, she tends to hardly every get sick. this morning she was shaky, vomiting and lightheaded. I went to head out and asked if she needed me to stay but she said she was fine. So I headed off. Bucket needed help with his ice fishing, Sven needed help with his sheep, and I also helped Gobber in the shop. Later, I did paperwork. And I was there, til at least 7 PM. Then I finally got to head home to my wonderful wife.

I walked across the village, looking at all of the building the village have done today. The second floor of the Great Hall was now open. I waved at children running by, chasing rabbits or having snowball fights.

Thats when it hit me. I want a family.

I walked in to Astrid, with the scent of my favorite chicken herb soup. I was starving.

"I made your favorite soup!" Astrid said. I kissed her. I have no idea what I would do without her.

I sat down and started eating, when I suddenly noticed Astrid closing her eyes, breathing deeply. She opened her mouth to say something, and I waited, but instead of words came tears. She jumped up and ran upstairs, and of course I followed. 

She was sitting on our bed, bawling as if she had found Stormfly was dead. I sat down next to her. She played her head on me, her bawling turning to sobs.

"Astrid, what's wrong?" I asked. "Are you okay? You're scaring me!"

I kept repeating that until a little voice was heard. 

"Hiccup, I-" more tears came out, and the sound of crying echoed throughout the house.

Her crying slowed down, getting quieter every minute, until there was no noise.

"Hiccup, promise you won't be mad? I know you wanted to wait and-"

I interrupted her.

"I promise, Astrid. I pinkie promise." I said as I held her tighter. What could get her so upset? She has never been this upset, not since we set the dragons free.

"You're going to be a father."

I felt like something hit me. I'm going to be a father. I laughed, and cried. And maybe cried some more.

"How could I be mad at you for something like that?" I asked. Then I started crying things like 'Oh my Thor' and 'I can't wait!'

Astrid snuggled in more, nuzzling her head on my lap. I laid back on the bed, crying a little more. I kissed her as I drifted off to sleep.

THE NEXT DAY

I woke, remembering the conversation from the night before. I was going to be a father!

Astrid woke, yawning. Then she turned green and went to go do her business in the bathroom. I waited behind her, rubbing her back and doing everything I could to support her.

"Astrid, yesterday before I got home I was thinking that I wanted a family, and I think Thor answered my prayer." I said. Astrid turned around. She hugged me and I grinned as I knew that soon she would bring a child into this world. Soon I would be father. Soon we would be a family.
