The Hacker: Epilogue

Well, I guess I lied didn't I?

At some point.

I swore I would never be back in the realm called Earth. In my defense, back then, I really thought I never would return! I was going to be deleted, is what I imagined. And to be more technical, I never returned to the Earth I planned to go back to. I mean, I changed the course of history. That makes the Earth I grew up on different. So, maybe it wasn't a complete lie and more of an expansion of the truth.

I guess I should sum up how the rest of my life went, shouldn't I?

With all these experiences I held, I was transferred off to Tokyo, Japan to present these (as I was trained to call them) "ideas for future games" to the game creators. With Red at my side as a translator (You guessed it, he knows fluent Japanese. I picked it up in a few weeks, but that's not my point), we stood in Game Freak Inc. and presented the history.

It was the 22nd floor within Carrot Tower located in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan where I got my newest job as a story board designer. And graphic design artist on the side to make sure everything was up to key.

I was able to do so much for the gameplay of future games. The first thing I did was help on the Finale of Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal. What do you think? Placing Red on the top of Mt. Silver (even having Mt. Silver), waiting for a challenger to defeat him--- to send him home. It was a good way to wrap things up, I believe.

Next, I was sent off to design sub-adventures and the new protagonists for Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. The female protagonist having an obvious basis.

Then there was the male.

I couldn't pull myself to designing him too close to Red. It just never felt right. So I gave him the appearance of the twin who I had memories come to me over time.

And then, I wrote Sevii Islands. I was responsible for all the designing, character profiling and story boarding for the entire side story. I-It was really painful. I tried so hard to include everything but not. I finished it though.

Of course I was able to set some ties in with other of my co-workers to have Silver's journey continued (Blue would have liked that), Amber having a minor anime appearance, and so on. Just a few sprinkles here and there with my name on it.

Currently, I'm working with the programming team, now that my designs from my memories was wrapped up. I make quite the bit of money in the past years, my dad and I speak occasionally with smiles on our faces. I even watch as little me and Fire grow up as a "family friend" when I go to visit America.

Still, Leaf would become highly intelligent. She still bought a original Red version and hacked it. No way to avoid that, but my dad was prepared for it. He was there for my mom this time. And Fire was there also.

Of course, Red and I are together. Actually, we're married at this point, debating kids. Come on, It's been over seventeen years since I wrote chapter 29 of my life, came out of the game in 1998 and ran into Red a year later. After that we lived together for six years, you don't think we'd make everything official? (Then I wrote a prologue, chapter 30 and this epilogue)

It's funny. I'm married my best friend.

And I thought it was going to be Blue in the beginning, you probably had a hunch too.

Speaking of him, it was later revealed to me that the team in the American Nintendo branch had copied the game onto their computers just before the combustion of the system. Blue (and Eos) is still preserved on the back-up data downloaded to the Nintendo computer system and occasionally Red would check up on the game to watch how he is taking charge of what is left of Kanto. Piecing it back together.

It was like repairing and re-growing land after a parasite attack. Much like it was. There were still many things lost to the Glitch, but at least they weren't one of them.

You know, I still have no clue how it is possible for a person to mix up numbers in a code and somehow become absorbed into a virtual world. And how that caused the world to slowly disintegrate. Or how after taking out all the hacks that I ended up in 1998 instead of 2015. Or how Red ended up in my world (Not like I'm complaining, though!)-- Really, can someone cross a glitch and a hack to jump worlds?

But now...

I don't think I need to know how it all worked.

It just happened.

You can't start over.

Just keep moving.

It's just how it is.

Life is a cesspool of variables and probability, leaving everything to infinity- And that doesn't scare me anymore.

I could end this with: "The End". But we've learned at this point that the story never ends, now does it?
