CHAPTER 41: It feels familiar

It's weekend. Yaay!

I am getting ready for our outing to the library. I had tied up my hair and was applying a bit of lip balm when I heard the doorbell.

"I'll get it!" Ari screams then hear some muffled voices.

I grab my bag and get out of my room. I see a man with jet black hair sitting on the couch, facing his phone.

"Good morning Mr King. All set to dive into a world of books?" I tease him.

"I am the mayor of the world of books. Ready to go?" He retorts.

"Always. Wait." I turn around and scream.

"Ari I'm leaving! Don't worry, I'll bring your fifty shades series!" I scream at top of my lungs. I look at Eric and see that he's trying to control his laughter.

"I don't want those books! Get out of here!" She shouts from her room.

Eric grabs my wrist but I signal him to wait.

Ping!

I take out my phone from my pocket, open the message and show it to Eric.

' don't forget to bring those books.'

We both burst out laughing and head out of the door.

We reach the library and I start browsing the books I need for baking.

Yup! It's high time that I should learn how to bake.

Eric heads to the section of business and software.

Work. Work. Work. Is that the only thing this guy knows?

I grab few books and head out but I can't find Eric. I look at the section he went to but it's empty. I turn around and my head smacks with someone's jaw.

"Ow!" I rub my forehead and see that Eric is rubbing his chin.

I hit him with a book. "Idiot. You could have tapped my shoulder." I whisper yell at him.

"Sorry. Come on, I'll show you my private collection." He grabs my wrist and pulls me towards a door. He takes out a key and unlocks the door.

I step inside and my jaw drops. "Oh my...." I'm speechless. This guy doesn't have his private collection but a whole goddamn private library inside a public library!

"You have a freaking library! Not a collection!" He just shrugs.

I walk around the room and see books of all genres arranged neatly in shelves. Business, science fiction, non fiction, classics, you name anything, this guy has everything.

I walk towards the romance section and see that there aren't much books but one book catches my eye. I take it out, blushing deep red.

I face him, holding the book. He gives me questioning look and then his eyes trail down to the book I am holding. He averts my gaze.

"A man must know some moves." He defends himself. His cheeks are having a tint of red. I chuckle at his excuse.

"I'm gonna keep this book with me for some time. Ari needs it." I continue to walk around.

"Oh my God!" My eyes widen at the collection in front of me.

"What happened?" Eric rushes towards me but then stops when he sees the collection in front of me.

"Wh–Why do you have the whole collection of power rangers?" I look at every comic book and find that they are all Dino thunder.

"I like power rangers." This is like a whole new level of Eric.

I face him. "Really? Which one?" I ask him even though I know the answer of the question.

"Dino thunder." Oh great! Another dino fan.

"You know I find that dino thunder is the best power ranger ever." He looks at me amusingly as if he is waiting for my outburst.

I scoff. "East or west, SPD was the best."

"Dino."

"SPD."

"Dino."

"SPD." This conversation seems familiar.

"Dino."

"SPD."

We both glare at each other, none of us are ready to break it off.

"Dino." He grumbles.

"SPD." I give him the meanest glare I could come up with.

"Dino."

"This conversation is useless, just like you." I avert my gaze.

"Ouch. I'm hurt right here, pretty lady." He points to his heart. I roll my eyes at his childishness.

"I'm sorry...not." I giggle playfully.

I never had this conversation with Eric, then why does it feels so familiar?  I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as I try to recall this conversation.

"I could sense that something is bothering you. Care to share?" Eric places the book back on the shelf and folds his hands across his chest.

I lean on the shelf and sigh. Better not ruin my mood with these questions. "It's nothing."

"Nothing? Fine, if you don't tell me then I won't tell you that somebody is planning on confessing his feelings to someone." My ears perk up.

What? Confessing?

"Jason and Kathy? Oh my God?! Really? They hit off so well? That's incredible!" I start squealing like a teenager who found out that her crush likes her back.

"This is such a great news!" I am trying my best not to jump in excitement.

"Okay. Okay calm down. Take deep breaths." I inhale and exhale.

"All good?" I nod my head enthusiastically.

"Now will you tell me, what is bothering you?" He is stubborn.

"I'm telling you it's nothing serious." When will he leave this topic?

"Liza...." He slowly decreases the distance between us and drops the books which I was holding.

"Wha— " I look down at the mess he created but he raises my chin with his fingers.

Great!

I'm trapped, for the fourth time. The library is so silent that I'm pretty sure that everyone can hear how wildly my heart is beating. A bonus point? We are at the private section of the library.

Eric grabs both my wrists and kisses my almost faded bruises. My breathing is ragged and stomach is doing flip flops. My throat suddenly feels all dried up as his piercing light blue eyes stares right back at my grey ones.

He leans down to my neck. His warm breath gives me shivers and places a feathery kiss. I take a sharp intake of air when he bites my skin. He then trails up to my ears and bites my earlobe. I finally let out a small moan and tilt my neck to give him more access.

Why does my body reacts this way? It's my body but he makes me feel things that I've never felt before. Do I....

He whispers huskily in my ears. "I want you to share all your doubts and feelings with me Liza. Tell me what bothers you?" My hands trail on his shirt which makes him groan and I clutch it for my dear life.

I can't think properly. I can't speak properly. How does he expect me say what bothers me?

His soft kisses travel to my face. He cups my face and pecks my forehead, eyes and nose. Then he kisses the corner of my lips and leans towards my ears. "Tell me what do you feel...."

I like how he makes me feel all dizzy and bothered only by his voice and kisses. I like how he treats me, it makes me feel that I'm the only person that matters to him. I like how peaceful it feels when drown into his light blue eyes. I like how he took care of me when I was drunk. I like how he took care of me when I was broken in front of my brother's grave and back at his penthouse. I like how he tries to crack lame jokes only to make me smile. I like how he make me feels all safe and protected only by his hug. I like how he has changed in all these weeks.

My eyes widen at my sudden realization.

Fuck, I like him.

I like Eric.

As a gesture for him to carry on, I grab a fistful of his hair and run my fingers through them. He groans and places another bite on my neck.

"Eric..." I whisper his name when his hands trail all over my body. I let out another moan when his hands grip my butt.

"Yes Liza? You still didn't tell me what's bothering you." He kisses the corner of my lips but he has still not kissed me on the lips.

What is he waiting for? A written invitation?

"Please...." His hands hold mine.

He trails to the other corner of my lips and kisses it. "Not yet."

He finally stops and leans his head on mine. His blue eyes is staring right into my grey ones with an emotion I can't decipher yet. But I'll make sure that I will, someday.

I don't know for how long we stare into each other's eyes. I can look at him all day.

"I'm hungry." Eric speaks out of the blue. I chuckle lightly.

I pick up the books which were fallen on the floor. "Let's issue these books and then we'll go to eat." He nods in agreement.

Eric opens the door for me and we head out of the library. I look at the man walking in front of me and for the first time I don't see him as my friend but as a man I like.

My Eric.
