Jungkook steps out of the shower, walking in the room to see Jiyeon fast asleep on the bed. Her blanket wraps about her small figure. As he dries his hair with a towel, he stops and stares at her peacefully. He could feel himself soften up. As he finally gets dressed in a pair of shorts, he climbs into bed with her.
With her back facing him, she peeps one eye open. He gently wraps his arm around her waist and pulls her closer to his bare chest. She was trying hard to keep her anger within herself. She didn't know what to do. She had just gotten back with her boyfriend after a long break, and after she had given him all her love, someone comes to ruin it. And all it took was a text message.
She freezes in his embrace when she hears his phone vibrate again. She was fighting the urge to grab the phone and fling it across the room. He snuggles closer to the crook of her neck and all she could do is fight the tears that were forming in her eyes.
"I love you," he whispers, and she feels a few tears start flowing down her cheeks.
If you love me, then why did you do it? She thought to herself, and in the process, her heart shatters to pieces.
The morning after, Jungkook wakes up noticing that Jiyeon has left. She has probably left for work. He stretches out his arms and starts looking for his phone. Coincidentally, his phone starts to vibrate indicating he had an incoming phone call. As he struggles to reach it from one of the bed side tables, he finally picks up the call without even bothering to check the caller ID.
"Hello?" He says with a rough grunt. He hears a soft giggle and he furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
"Hi, is this Jungkook?" The voice of what seems like a woman asks. He grows confused.
"Yes, who is this?" He questions.
"You don't remember me?" She teases.
"No, sorry, who is this?" He asks. "You might have the wrong number."
"Oh, I'm sure I have the right number, Jungkook-ssi." She replies. "Don't you remember giving me your phone number? Or maybe you were just too tired to remember."
"Who are you? Stop trying to fool me." He says sternly.
She lets out another giggle. He bites his lip and somehow he feels a knot in his stomach. He pulls his phone away from his ear to look at the caller ID. It was an unknown number. He had no idea who this was. But how did they know his name?
"It's a shame you don't remember who I am, Jungkook." She mumbles. "It's me. Shin Mijoo? Does it ring a bell?"

V wakes up from his slumber to the sound of loud knocking. He's barely awake when he goes downstairs to get the door. Were the maids even awake at this time? What time is it? He glances at the wall clock, 7:08 AM.
"Who are you and what are you doing here so early in the morning—"
Suddenly, he's wide awake. Standing right before him is none other than Jiyeon herself. She looks broken. Her eyes were bloodshot red and there were dark circles beginning to form around her eyes. He doesn't question her any further and welcomes her inside.
As he rushes to the kitchen to grab a glass of water for her to drink, he hears her try to catch her breath from all the sobbing she's done. When he heads over towards her, he hands her the glass and she bows her head.
"Thanks," she whispers.
"If you don't mind me asking," he begins. "What happened? What brought you here?"
She shrugs her shoulders. "I have no one else to go to, that's why I decided to come here."
"Did something bad happen? Is it Jungkook?" She looks at him and he finally knows the answer.
"He's cheating on me." She whispers.
When she bursts out into tears, he gets up on his feet. She looks up to see him grabbing his coat, and when he starts walking towards the door, she gets up to stop him from leaving. He's saying a string of curses but calms down when she pulls him back.
"Don't." She warns him. "He has know idea that I know."
"And so you're going to let him continue to cheat on you?" She falls silent. "Come on, Jiyeon. You can't keep doing this to yourself. The guy is in an affair with another woman, and you're just going to sit there and watch it all go down?"
"I can't—" She stops herself. "What if he leaves me? What does that girl have that I don't?"
"Jiyeon, you have everything. You're a hero with no cape. You're the best friend everyone wishes to have. Is that not enough to you?" He whispers. "If you don't do something about this, I will, whether you like it or not. I don't care if I intrude your business because this is too much."
"V—"
"And he's a jerk if he's cheating on you." He says softly. "I'd have you all to myself in a heartbeat if I had the chance."
"Let me deal with this myself." She convinces him. "I just need someone to talk to."
They head towards his living room to take a seat. She stares at him as he looks at her with concern. He looks just like Taehyung, and she knew it was him, but if he wasn't going to admit it to her, then he probably had a reason.
"How'd you find out?"
"She texted him. It was an unknown number." She explains. "And you know what hurts the most? We were getting back together after we called for a break."
"You can't go back to him." He says softly. "You'll only hurt even more."
"I have to tell him that I know."
"Jiyeon, if you need anything, if you need someone to punch him in the face, I'd do it for you." He chuckles. "But seriously, aside from all the shit I've done to you, I'm really sorry."
She smiles sadly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lashed out on you like that the other day."
"Understandable." He shrugs his shoulders. "I guess I was too nosy, and I admit forcing myself into you and Jungkook's lives and relationship wasn't really... nice."
"It's just... you look just like him, and it's kind of bothering me." She whispers.
He turns away from her, and she purses her lips into a tight line. He couldn't look at her. No, he can't. "If your friend was still alive, would you have confessed to him?"
She nods her head without hesitation. "I would. In a heartbeat. Before it's too late."
He courageously glances at her, and she watches him carefully. "Jiyeon, there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it?"
"My confession to you, it was the truth. I really do like you, Jiyeon-ah." He smiles. "But I know you're still in love with Jungkook, and I'm cool with that."
"C-Cool," she stutters.
"But there's something else I need to tell you," he mumbles. "Don't hate me."
"I won't."
"Was it you who found me lying on the ground that night?" He asks, his voice cracking.
Her eyes slightly widen. She knew this was coming, but she had no idea how he'd react. She has never seen him so broken. His face was sullen, and it was almost as if he had transformed back to her best friend.
"E-Excuse me?" She whispers.
"Why is it that I want to forget my past, but you're here, bringing it up all over again?"
"You're not making any sense." She shakes her head.
"Can we start all over again?" He asks. "I've always wanted to rewrite my past, hoping you'd be there to make it better."
She watches him as he gulps nervously. His hands were shaking, but as he extends his arm out, she notices him pull up his sleeve. She lets out a soft gasp.
Right in front of her was a large scar on his forearm. The night Taehyung had got hit by a car, some of the remains of the car had caught onto his arm. She remembers rushing over to him that night, pulling his limp body up into her arms, but as she called for help, he had passed out. As she had taken off her cardigan, she reached for his arm and tied it around his large wound to stop the bleeding.
"Hi, you look very familiar." He whispers, a soft smile spreading across his lips. "I'm Taehyung, but I prefer V. This might sound crazy but, give me time, and I'll explain it to you. It will all make sense."
