Deals with the devil. Or Clarrisse. Same thing really.

Hermione took a deep breath, leaning against her dorm room wall and sinking to the floor.

The past three hours had been some of the most stressful hours of her life, forcing her to put far more care and consideration into her words then ever before.

Annabeth during the meeting was far different then Annabeth during the class, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that she belonged to Percy's world more then Hermione's, like she had done and seen things mortals couldn't even comprehend, willing to tear apart any argument Hermione could muster without a moments hesitation. She spoke circles around the witch and only days of preparation for this meeting had saved her.

Clarrisse on the other hand, was a fae who had only been seen by the students from afar, spotted on the lawn after the "Extermination" as the students called it, eyes red as coal, an aura of death and bloodshed coating her.

She was far more direct than Annabeth, challenging Hermione straight to her face, forcing Hermione to make the same challenges, almost coming to blows, Clarrisse grinning widely with anticipation, hands on the hits of sword and wand while Annabeth sighed and calmed both.

Clarrisse had given Hermione a long look before smiling and plopping in an undignified heap on a ocean wave patterned beanbag "She has a fire in her eyes. And she stood up to me. If her friends have half as much spine as her, I'll do it. It will cost you of course."

Hermione was prepared, having gotten a favor coin from Parvati in exchange for doing her homework.

Clarrisse took the coin and grinned. "Gather your friends. Meet me on the shore in three Saterdays."

Hermione wasn't stupid enough to let down her guard at the agreement, barely allowing herself to show relief at her success.

While the fae had given a very vague (intentionally no doubt) oath to protect the students of Hogwarts for the duration of one mortal year, she had no access to the original words, just the reitteratied version Dumbledore had said at the Welcoming Feast. Without it, she had no idea of what lines either party could cross.

The mere thought of the adults treating the fae like the teenagers and children they appeared to be was terrifying. Don't they realize the adults weren't considered students the moment they graduated? That all bets were off as soon as the year ended?

But everytime she had tried to take it up with Dumbledore he treated her like he did Harry, avoiding and misdirecting. Honestly, he was just as bad.

Professor Mcgonagall, fortunately, had a very healthy respect for the Kidemonas, every interaction the most polite and formal Hermione had ever seen the Transfiguration teacher act, even if the fae she was speaking with was acting in a way comparable to a child on a sugar high.

Snape was about they same, all bows of respect and pireblood manners, only he had gotten one of the favor coins that had recently started appearing in Hogwarts. It was a favor, protection, and a pass all in one. A favor from the fae who gave it to you, protection from the worse of their illusions and a pass to their Island.

Rumor had it that it heated up when a fae disguised as an animal was around.

Hermione pulled the favor coin Jackie had given her from her pocket and inspected it again. Maybe she would put it on a cord like Snape had. Parvati's had only been in her possession for two days after all.

The potion master had apparently received one from Jazz, an energetic fae girl with a penchant for learning human magic that exceeded the others. In exchange for a few lessons, Snape had been able to avoid the chaos that the Unholy Quartetet consisting of a pair of fae brothers and Hogwart's resident pranksters had enacted. Professor Flitwick and Mcgonagal supposedly had something similar with Jazz as well.

Percy hadn't appeared during the entire meeting, and Hermione didn't bother bringing it up, fearing the conversation would be rerouted.

Jackie had come back afterwards and escorted Hermione back,  her clothes a bit ripped up and a look of satisfaction on her face. "Guess who got tossed in the book pit? Jacob Pines, that's who!"

Hermione congratulated her, deciding for the first time in her life she didn't want to know.

Before Jackie at left her at the portrait of the Fat Lady, she had told her to keep the coin.

"You might need it. That Cloak too."

"The Cloak?"

"Yeah. It doesn't belong to you but whoever it does belong to could get one hell of a trade out of it. Like, grant a wish, trade. Especially since our magic is pretty much restricted only by our imagination, power and specialty."

Hermione vowed to tell Harry about it later. "I appreciate the information." She said, not admitting a debt by saying "thank you".

Jackie had shot her a mischievous grin and vanished without another word.

Hermione picked herself off the floor. If she would be dealing with the Kidemonas on a recurring basis she would need to do more research.

-----------------------------------
Clarrisse glared at Annabeth. "The hell was that about?"

"What was what?" The lieutenant responded, reorganizing her work desk so she could prepare a training regimen, pulling the list Jazz had given her of the future members of Dumbedore's Army.

"The holier than thou attitude. Poor kid was practically sweating bullets. Not that I was helping."

"I was proving a point, Clarrisse. Stratagists must be able to handle a challenge. Gods knows I needed that lesson earlier than I got it." Opening her laptop she started typing. "If  Hermione is to become the Order Stratagist she needs a challenge and practice."

Clarrisse scowled. "Fine. Just try not to break her before I do."

"I'll do my best, weapons mistress." Annabeth said formally before the pair made eye contact and laughed.

"Anyone else you want in one piece?" Clarrisse asked as she picked up her things and prepared to head to her own tent.

"Luna Lovegood. Alena considers her a friend. Unless you want to spend the next year tripping over invisible things and tramatizing post-rainstorm experiences I suggest you be careful. Do remember they are mortals without a drop of divine blood."

"Yeah, yeah. See you tomorrow."

Annabeth didn't settle down until around five in the morning after finalizing the schedule and plans. Yawning, she decided then and there that leaving the morning activities to her siblings, Lizie and Xander, was an excellent idea. She sent them a text and hooked up her phone to charge.

Now she just needed to get Will and a few other specialized weapons users, Jazz and Leo to agree and help out but that could wait until the afternoon.

By the time the demigods were done with them, it would take an entire squad of Aurors to bring a single DA member down.

Feeling satisfied, Annabeth crawled into bed, activated the no-access-unless-emergency spells on the door and went to sleep, dreams of her future victims, uh, students, dancing in her head.

--------
Deep within the Grifyindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff dorms, twenty-eight future DA members simultaneously shuddered while the entirety of Slytherin and Dumbridge broke into a cold sweat.

------------
Tsunade Senju wasn't expecting to wake up when she sacrificed everything she had for her village.

So when she did and the first thing she saw was see a civilian boy with glowing green eyes and a shit-eating grin leaning over her, pouring some golden liquid into her mouth that tasted like sunshine and raspberies, she was a bit surprised.

Honestly how does something taste like sunshine?!

"Drink up, all of it, there you go." He said, pulling the canteen away from her.  "One of the benefits of being drinking buddies with the god of medicine. Access to the good stuff."

The boy waved his free hand over her eyes and before she could protest a  wave of drowsiness she knew wasn't natural passed over her but for all the power of a Sannin, she couldn't resist it's a pull.

The last thing she saw before falling asleep was Kakashi Hatake helping the boy to stand and thanking him, and her unconscious apprentice in the corner.
