Chapter 46

Shock filled throughout my body as I let the words sink in. I expected this day to be slightly peaceful and with no drama but this is exactly the opposite. Turning into a hybrid was not part of my plan form today.

I thought I had more since the fight just finished recently. I wanted to know more about what I am going to become. Nerves rack through my body when I realised that I know almost nothing of hybrids.

Zavion had told me a little bit of what to expect but I still am not sure. I do not know how I am going to change and what powers I will have.

"It is going to be okay. It would pain at first but in the end, you will feel relief, trust me." Ace said, grabbing hold of my shoulders that are shaking slightly from not only fear but anticipation.

"Go in." He pointed towards the black door.

"Are you not coming?"

"I can't there is wolfsbane all over the room. I am sorry, even if there was no wolfsbane I wouldn't be able to come in. When you change you are the strongest you have ever been, which means it will put me in danger if I come close to you."

"There you are this is the first time I have seen you in days. How are you feeling?" Romulus said, walking over to me with a big smile on his face.

"I am feeling better. What about you are you feeling alright?"

"I am feeling good."

"Arielle, where has my twin sister been for the past few days?"

"I have been in my room, what about you where have you been?"

"I have been around the fortress, but mostly my room," Zavion said rubbing his hands together, "Are you ready for this?"

"You are changing too?" I asked with shock.

"I am your twin. We get everything together including our powers."

"Come on you two, we need to get started before it is too late." I nodded my head in understanding and walked up to ask and wrap my arms around his waist.

"I will see you in a few days," I whispered to him just as our lips touch each others. This kiss was sweet but rough at the same time.

This was our way of saying I love you even though I couldn't see you. When we finally pulled away, I lean my head against his. We stared into each other's eyes for the last time of me being a human. After a few seconds, we finally pulled apart.

I walked to the door that is being Romulus was holding open for me. I glanced back to see Ace staring intently at me. With a final nod from him, I went into the dark room.

"This way," Romulus says grabbing my arm and leading me. After a few seconds, he stoped walking and pushed me against the wall. He started putting the chains around both my hands and legs.

"Why are you chaining me?" I asked my fear from earlier returning back.

"When a hybrid changes for the first few times, they feel immense pain because of the sudden power. Your human body has to adapt so that it no longer feels pain when you use one of your powers."

"What are my powers?" I asked squinting my eyes to look at Romulus in the dark room.

"You change half to a werewolf and vampire. You also have powers to do a spell but you are weaker than the witches. Your senses will heighten."

Before he could say anything else I felt pain erupt from the gums of my mouth, as I ran my tongue over my gums I felt liquid coming out of my mouth. I threw up all over the floor. My vision became blurry making me feel more unsafe than before.

I vaguely heard the footsteps of my brother fading away from the dark cell. I ran my tongue around my mouth, I tasted something metallic. I looked down to see the liquid is red in colour.

Abruptly pain erupted from the right side of my chest. I closed my eyes tightly, not wanting to see the blood that is pouring out my mouth. My heart pounds wildly against my ribcage, like a caged animal. I let out a loud scream, as I felt a stab against my heart.

I opened my eyes and as I tried to pull the chains off me but it is pointless. The chains were much stronger than me. I felt a growing hunger in the back of my throat, I don't know what it is I need but I need it now. I felt like someone is controlling my body, and all I could do was shout at my mind to stop.

I again pulled at the chains for a few more minutes, trying to free myself from the chains that were preventing me from getting what I needed. Sweat poured down my face, as I started to feel week. Finally, after a few more minutes I stop pulling at the chains.

I let my body sag against the wall as I felt my body's energy lower from all the pulling. I lick the inside of my mouth, it is no longer bleeding but the pain is still there. I groaned out loud when I felt the pain from my heart spread to my hands.

My hands started to shake, slowly the pace increases, finally, after a few minutes, I could no longer see my hand. All I saw was a blur of where my hand was supposed to be. A sigh escaped my lips when I realised that I had to go through this for one more day.

It had been hours since I had come here. My eyelids were heavy from not only lack of sleep but energy. My stomach let out another loud growl. If anybody else was in this basement then they would have definitely heard it.

For the past few hours, I felt myself getting control of my body again. I closed and opened up my hands, trying to let the blood flow properly because when the pain had reached my leg I had squeezed my hands so hard, not only was there blood coming out of it but my hand was numb for a couple of minutes.

I closed my and held in a grimace at the image in my head. My legs were weak from standing for so long and I knew that I couldn't stand any longer if I don't get energy somehow. I looked around the basement tiredly.

Every single time I looked around the basement I had to squint my eyes because of the darkness, but now I could see everything without squinting my eyes. I could now see everything more clearly. I breathe in deeply; an unknown smell fills my nose. 

This whole time all I could hear was water dripping. But now I heard the sound of a bang and footsteps. The basement was now filled with another smell. I tried to figure out what the smell is and what it belongs to but I gtt nothing.

I waited for the person, my patience running out as the person took their time. The footsteps got louder and I know that the person was heading towards my cell. I slowly got up get up from my sagging position. My heart beat increased from anticipation.

Finally, the person came inside, it is Romulus. He clicks his fingers together and the lights turned on. I squinted my eyes from the brightness, after a few seconds my eyes got used to it and raised my eyes to meet Romulus' that were staring back at me.

"Here drink this," Romulus placed the bottle of water by my lips, and tilted it so that the water can flow down my throat.

I licked my lips when the water is finished. I watch as Romulus takes out a key and begins to unchain me. I move my hands and legs, trying to let the blood flow so that the numbness in my body can go away.

"Do want to see yourself?" I nodded my head in response, my throat still hurting from the lack of water.

I gaped when I saw myself in the mirror that Romulus was holding. My face had grown thinner and my hair was longer than it was one day ago and it has gone slightly red in colour. My eye colour had changed to pure black.

"Is this normal?" My voice was filled with amazement.

"Yes, it happens to all hybrids," Romulus replied, laughing at my face.

"I am a hybrid?" I asked disbelief.

"You are a hybrid." Romulus confirmed.
