Bonus Chapter

Zavion's POV

"Zavion come here and take a look at this!" I jumped out of my seat and ran toward the excited voice of my brother, Romulus.

I pushed my legs to go as fast as it could go so that I didn't miss my brother new power. Since Romulus' eighteen birthday was coming closer he was discovering new powers every day. Becoming a hybrid was a wonderful yet painful experience.

My father and my teachers have told me that as new emotions, strengths and weakness are discovered the person changes slightly. The new emotions start anger, making me vulnerable to Romulus as he might lash out at me at any time and he might not have realised what he was doing until it is too late.

My father being the protective parent he is has given me work around the fort to keep me busy and away from Romulus. As I rounded a corner I stopped suddenly when I saw the leaves falling down instead of rain.

"What did you do?" I didn't know if I should be excited or scared. I looked around to see instead of rain puddles everywhere there were leaves piling up everywhere.

"I believed I could change the rain to leaves, and I did. Isn't it cool?" Romulus asked me picking up a leaf.

"It is amazing," I whispered softly, tilting my head to look at the leaves falling from the cloud. I knew at that moment that the saying was true. Anything was possible if you just believe in yourself.

I looked around the room of people in wonder. I felt pride well up inside of me as I realised that did all this with the help of Romulus and Ace. We made the smile appear back on these people's faces. Romulus, Ace and I had been working non-stop to make the people of this kingdom happy again.

Since the fight, we had tried to restore everything back to its original form but the loss of the supernatural beings that gave themselves for this kingdom cannot be replaced, so we made a special room for them.

We wanted not only the people of this kingdom to know but all the supernatural beings that came into the kingdom to know about the great sacrifice these people have done. There was a small place for each of the sacrificed people, with information about them and the life they had lived. My father was one of those people.

I loved my father even though sometimes we didn't have the best father and son relationship. I missed him as much as I missed my mother. I closed my eyes for a second to shake away the tears that would soon appear in my eyes.

I looked to my right to see Arielle holding Ace's hand firmly. I remember the day I first saw her in the cell. I couldn't believe that she was still alive. Through my whole childhood, I had lived with the feeling of knowing that I never got to know my twin sister.

When I saw my bleeding sister in the cell I couldn't help but feel anger the witches and soon enough with help of my people we found a way to be free. Since the day Arielle got free I have got to know so much more about her and the life she had lived until then.

I was shocked when I found out Ace was her mate, but I couldn't be happier for her because I knew that Ace would take good care of her. I am also glad he is her mate because if he did hurt my sister I could easily beat him up, for my sister.

"Is there anything you would like to add Zavion?" Romulus asked me suddenly making me snap out of my daydream.

"No." I didn't have anything to say because everything I wanted to say had already been shown to these people by the actions of my effort to help these people.

"This meeting has come to an end. You are all dismissed and may now return to your duties."

With that everybody was shuffling around the room to the nearest exit. I got off the stage slowly and walk to towards the exit that was filled with rushing people. I walked to the side of the hall and waited for the rush to decrease.

"Zavion!" I turned my head sharply to Arielle's voice. Since the day of the change, Arielle has become even more beautiful than before. I knew that she was happy with Ace, not because of the smile on her face but because of the small glow around her body.

"Yes?" I asked questionably, not sure why she was calling me. She walked over to me and handed me a colourful piece of paper. I looked at her hesitantly and read the paper. It is an invitation to a party which is being held in the fort.

"What is the celebration?" I asked holding up the piece of paper.

"The victory of this kingdom, see it even says there." Arielle pointed at the corner of the paper. I nodded my head in understanding.

"I will be there."

"I know because even you did make up an excuse I would drag you with me."

"Why would you drag me if I didn't want to go?"

"You, Romulus and Ace have been working too hard on yourselves. All three of you need a break. I know that all of us are still trying to get over father's death but he would want us to be happy because he is happy with mom up there." Arielle pointed towards the ceiling and Ace pulled her closer to his chest when he sees the tears that her forming in her eyes.

"I guess you are right. I will come and you don't need to worry about dragging Romulus and Ace. I will do that for you." I smiled at Arielle and wrapped my arms around her for a hug. I felt Arielle let out a chuckle and pulled away to stare into my eyes.

"Thank you for not only that but for being such a good brother. I know you must be feeling more pain than me because you knew our father for longer but I want you to know I will always be there for you if you want to talk to someone about anything. I am right here."

"I know and thank you for the offer. I really appreciate that you are trying to help not only me but this whole kingdom." I wrapped my arms around her for a few seconds before pulling away.

Arielle went back to stand my Ace as I gave them a nod and walk towards the exit. I look at the joined hands of mates and families. I felt a tug in my heart as I think about the mate that I hadn't found. I sigh loudly and walked towards my room which is at the other end of the forte.

As I walked through the many passages, many people stop to greet me. I smiled and greeted them back even though I don't feel happy. Something is bothering me. Since I woke I have a weird feeling in my chest. I felt excited for some reason. My inner vampire and werewolf are also more prompt today, making it hard for me to control my emotions.

I sighed in relief when I reach my bedroom. I banged the door close loudly, not caring about the people in the passage. I walked around the room trying to calm down my inner beasts which was getting more agitated by the second.

I stopped walking, closed my eyes and breathe in deeply for a few seconds. Unlike before I didn't feel a sense of calmness wash over me. I let out a growl and open my drawer, trying to find a book which might explain all of this but none of the books were relevant.

I walked fast to my closet and open it. I again try to fond for a book but this I do find a book. As I flipped through the pages I felt hope of finding the issue but after a few seconds, I didn't feel that hope anymore.

 Instead, I felt angry, I clench my left fist as I feel the anger rise in me. My breathing became deep and shallow. When I turned to the last page and read through it, I froze. I didn't know what to think. I swallowed deeply and run my hands over the words that said The sign of mates.

The pounding in my heart increases when I heard someone knock on the door. I laid the book on the bed and walked towards the door. My emotions went viral when I touched the knob of the door and as I opened the door to look at the person I know that I was never going to jealous of those holding hands ever again.
