The Grudge

A young mother wishes nothing more than have a safe place to raise her son.  She's had it so hard lately.  Her husband is dead.  It looked like an accident.  Automobile.

She finds a home for sale at a steal of a deal.  Isn't that a good thing?  To be able to afford a home?  Everyone seems scared of it though, and nobody tells her why.  She moves in, and there is something there.   Something malevolent.  It fixates on her son.  She allows him to sleep in bed with her of a night, trying to comfort him to sounds that only he can hear.

She has to hire babysitters while she is away at work.  The first one left full of fright.  The second, an accident.  Fell down the stairs.  She died in the hospital.  Mother meanwhile is convinced that something is hiding in her house.

A detective comes, looking for evidence that anyone can be living there besides this woman and her son.  What he finds is a horror to everyone.  A hidden room, an inner grave.  Souls of murdered babies from generations past, all from this one little home.  The previous owner, just another victim, another claim of the demon that fed off of innocent souls.  It lets out a primal scream, and the babies, the mothers, join in as one voice of the united beast.

The still living turn to run, but can they?  This hunger can never be quenched.  The beast grabs the nearest, the detective, and consumes him.  The creature encircles the house entirely, offering no escape.  What this beast could never guess, was the monster hiding inside of the mother.  A monster that surpassed even this demon, centuries of old.

This woman, a rare pure soul, heaven smiled down upon the moment she was born.  A child like this would never wish harm on anyone.  They gave her mirrors around her soul, reflecting every action that was put upon her.  Her own husband, an abusive drunk, hit her, damaged her, broke her bones.  The car accident that killed him was just like her injuries, seven fold.  The beast could not go near her.  It could see how ugly it was with it's actions.  It would have to let her go, but not without one last victim.

The beast reached for the child.  A fatal mistake, for those mirrors also kept the power of this woman contained.  With a touch of evil on her innocent child, the mirrors of her soul began to crack.  With one final word, the mother said, "No!"

The mirrors fragmented, outside and in.  The beast screams in fear.  The light within this woman, comes forth.  She is light, she is fire.  Fire purifies.  With rage in her heart, and hell in her eyes, this woman holds her child close as the walls burn down.

There is no escaping her wrath.  The Beast can not get away.  It disappears with the rest of the house.  Mother and child, still holding one another, are unharmed.
