Waffle House Madness

"Sean, it's been 2 days. Shouldn't we be in New York?"

2 days of driving straight to where ever we are. 2 days of no sleep, no walking, no anything. We didn't go into restaurants, we went through McDonalds drive throughs.

I've been peeing in bottles for goodness sakes.

"A little longer sweetheart." He assured me.

I looked outside. I need a sign to tell me where I'm going. Maybe the trees will kinda show me, or house style, or maybe-

45 Miles-Montana

Montana? And thank you Mr. Road Sign!

"We are going to Montana?!" I yelled.

He pretended to look confused. "Montana!? Omg I had no clue!"

He smiled.

My mouth fell open.

"But, New York!"

He chuckled. "Dude, you'll have a lot more fun out here."

We sat there for another 30 minutes.

"I'm hungry." I blurted out.

"Okay? You'll have to wait."

"You don't want to see me hangry. I do many bad things."

"Oh, maybe you can show me how bad." He said huskily.

I saw a Waffle House sign ahead.

"I want a chocolate chip waffle. Let's go to Waffle House."

He glanced at me and sighed.

Sean swerved into the parking lot and parked.

I got out of the car and made my way inside. An elderly woman saw us and gave us a smile.

"Hi y'all! Welcome to Waffle House! Would y'all like to sit at a counter or booth?"

"Counter would be-"

"Booth." Sean interrupted.

I shot him a dirty look as we made our way to the booth.

"Now what would you guys like to drink?"

"I'll have a Coke." I said with a smile.

"No, the girl will have a water. I'll have a water as well."

The woman looked at Sean in a disgusted manner.

"Now listen here sonny. I don't know about you, but when I was her age, I could order whatever I wanted. Let the poor girl speak."

She looked over at me.

"Now dear, what would you like to drink?"

"Uh, a water is fine."

She stood there for a minute, then walked off, shooting Sean a dirty look every once in a while. She came back moments later with the waters and put them in front of us.

"So Cathy I-"

The waitress snapped her head towards Sean. "Did you say Cathy?"

"Uh."

The color of her face drained to a pale color. "You. You are the missing girl."

She recoiled a couple of steps. "Help! That's the missing girl! Call the cops!"

"I'm calling right now." A woman said.

Sean grabbed my arm, pulled me to his chest, and pulled out a gun out of his pants.

"Everyone down! Get down on the ground!" Sean yelled, pointing the gun everywhere.

There were screams. Everyone fell on the floor. Sean started backing towards the door. Then, a man stood up.

"Get your hands off of the girl."

Sean cocked his head. "Make me."

The man took one step forward and all hell broke loose. Sean pulled the trigger of his gun and fired a bullet into the mans head. Everything was slow motion. My eyes widened as Sean quickly pulled me out of the restaurant and pushed me into the car. He started the engine and zoomed out of the parking lot.

"Y-y-you j-just killed a m-man!" I screamed.

My eyes wondered around the car. I started to hyperventilate. "YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT MAN!"

"I had to. He was gonna hurt you."

"NO! He was trying to save me from your screwed up ass!"

Tears started to fall. I cried and cried until nothing came out of my eyes.

"We need to change your look." He said.

"What?!"

"People know your appearance. We need to dye your hair."

I rolled my eyes. "Yes because dying my hair is sooooo clever."

I liked my golden locks. They were naturally wavy, and so long. I could never ruin my hair.

Sean kept on driving. Tears started to flood my eyes again. The poor man. There was no reason to kill him. Soon, I fell asleep, my face wet from the tears.

-

"Wake up."

I heard a cold voice demanding me to wake from my slumber.

"No mom. Just 10 more minutes." I whispered.

I heard a grunt.

I then sat up to see a was in a hotel bed. The sheets were black, and the carpet was white. I could see a tv in on a dresser in front of the bed, and a desk in the corner of the room. I could tell this was a nicer hotel, but where?

"Where are we?" I asked curiously.

I looked around to see Sean sitting on the bed, with only his boxers on. I've never really seen Sean shirtless, but he twas very toned.

Wait, what?

Stop that Cathy. Stop.

I saw him start fiddling with his thumbs. "Uh, we are in Washington."

"State?" I asked.

He nodded.

Thoughts and questions flooded my mind. "How long was I asleep?"

"A day and a half."

I bit my lip. I got up off of the bed.

"What time is it?"

I saw it was dark outside.

"8:34 PM."

I saw my suitcase. I went over and unzipped it, grabbed grey sweat pants and a black shirt, pink underwear, and a black bra.

"I'm taking a shower." I said.

I went in the shower and felt the hot water run down my back. I haven't had a shower in days. It felt so great. I bathed and used lavender shampoo and body wash. I stepped out of the shower, but saw there was no towel. Merely just a tiny hand towel. I switched to panic mode. I was not going to ask Sean for a towel. I looked in every crack and crevice to see if there was a simple towel.

Nothing.

I sighed. I quietly opened the door and saw there was a towel in the closet across from the bathroom. I tried reaching for it, but it was too far. Then I saw Sean get up from the bed. His eyes met mine, and he smiled.

"I see you need a towel." He said.

"Thanks Captain Obvious. Could you please hand that to me?"

He laughed. "I can but I won't."

My mouth dropped.

"You've gotta get it yourself."

I cocked my head.

Fine.

He wanted to play that game?

Well, game on.

I smiled, and opened the door right open, exposing my bare self. I snatched the towel out of the closet, and slammed the bathroom door shut.

-

I came out of the bathroom to see Sean laying on the bed, on his phone.

"Whatcha doing?"

He looked up. "Waiting on you."

I rolled my eyes.

He got up and opened the fridge, grabbing a bottle of champagne.

"Woah, I'm not 21 I-"

"You wanna go down that road?"

I shook my head.

He grabbed a couple of glasses and poured a little bit of champagne in both. I looked at the tv while he was putting the bottle away. Nothing much. Just the news.

He brought the two glasses back, handing one to me. He sat on the bed with me.

"To-" he paused, then smiled. "To you."

We clinked our glasses together and both took a sip.

Wow. That was good.

I took another sip.

Then another.

And another.

He would refill it after I was done with a glass. I drank at least 3/4th of the bottle.

Soon I got a pounding headache. All I could remember from that night was my vision getting fuzzy. That's all.

Until the next morning.
