The Talk

Kazane Kagari blew a smoke from her mouth as she was close to finishing her second cigarette, waiting for her daughter Ayaka to arrive at their office in the school. Her daughter called her last night from the Takamiya household and asked to call another emergency meeting between the witches in the school, because of her recent discovery. What this discovery was? She didn't know. Her daughter was going to explain everything to her and to Natsume, Rinon, Atori and Touko during the meeting at the school.

She had a few theories in her mind relating the topic of the emergency meeting her daughter wished to have today. She hoped it was something related to the disappearance of Grimoire Guthrum from her office. The search for Grimoire Guthrum has been rather uneffectful this far as neither Touko or Natsume came across a single lead that could lead them to the person who took the old magical book from her office. She had to call Rinon off the search and assign her to a different task, because of a large penguin that started to appear on the streets of the city shorty after it was restored.

She pressed the tip of her cigarette against the ashtray, putting it out. She glanced ahead of herself at the closed door to her office. Rinon, Atori, Touko and Natsume were already inside her office, all of them occupied with their own activities, awaiting Ayaka's and Honoka who was mentioned by her daugher to be joining them at this meeting arrival. She let out a sigh as she reached out to grab another cigarette, but stopped herself from doing when she heard the sound of someone twisting the door handle.

She glanced ahead of herself and saw Ayaka opening the door to her office and entering it, followed by Honoka. She stayed silent for a brief moment and watched how the others started greeing them, waiting for the others to be done with it.

"Ayaka." She called out for her daughter once Ayaka started walking towards her, the others quieting down, "Why did you called me last night and told me to gather everyone here today for an emergency meeting. You told me it was of utter importance and

"The reason why I wanted you to call this emergency meeting is because I have discovered who currently is in possession of Grimoire Guthrum." Her daughter explained as she stopped in front of Kazane, holding the pictures she received from Atori yesterday out to her mom.

"You found out who stole Grimoire Guthrum from the chairwoman?" Natsume smiled at the revelation from Ayaka, "That's great, Princess."

"Just like I excepted from you!" Touko praised Ayaka for finding out who was in possession of Grimoire Guthrum.

Kazane took the pictures from her daughter and looked at the one in the front, intending to eye each single one of them, one by one. Her eyes slightly widened in suprise the moment she saw what was displayed on it. She saw Y/N L/N, a h/c foreign boy from Ayaka and Honoka's class. She saw him in company of no other person or rather a book in this case than Grimoire Guthrum. Grimoire Guthrum wasn't even asleep like he was the last time she saw him. He was awake. He was floating in the air about a meter above Y/N's right shoulder and looked to be having a conversation with the said boy.

She quickly switched to another picture, wanting to know what the rest of them had to show to her, which earned suprised stares from Touko, Honoka, Rinon and Natsume. None of them were excepting to see her react like that to whoever was displayed to be in possession of Grimoire Guthrum on those pictures. Their suprised stared went unnoticed by Kazane who had her full attention on the picture she looking at right now down, this one displaying Y/N in his robe after he had changed into it a few seconds before it was taken.

This is how she spent the next few moments. Each one of them displayed Y/N doing an activity that only a magic user would be capable of doing. For example, one of them displayed Y/N in his robe and the other one displayed him flying on his broom forward himself. In all of them he was accompanied by Grimoire Guthrum. She looked at the last picture and her eyes widened even more than they already were, which earned more suprised stares from Touko, Honoka, Rinon and Natsume.

This picture displayed Y/N and Grimoire Guthrum standing in front of a red magic projectile that was flying forward itself, away from them, the former pointing his cane ahead of himself. She immediately recognized this magic projectile. It was Dark Blast. She had never seen it with her very own eyes, but she knew how it looked like from the information she read about Grimoire Guthrum from the few records about him that were saved to this day.

A lot of questions were going through her mind right now. She thought the answer to who stole Grimoire Guthrum from her office will provide her the answers she was seeking, but it was completely opposite. It just raised more questions. How was Y/N able to get his hands on Grimoire Guthrum? How he was able to wake him up from his sleep? She tried to do so ever since she found herself in possession of Grimoire Guthrum a few years ago, but without any success. She couldn't never find the spell for it, no matter for how long she searched for it.

Was he a magic user who somehow managed to hide this face from her this entire time or did he started to learn magic after he found him? If it was the latter, then how was he able to find himself in her office in the first place during the entire fiasco with Weekend? All of the civilians were put in a safe place and their memories of this event were erased after the city was restored.

"Master?" Rinon's voice called out for her brought her out her thoughts. She took her eyes off the pictures looked up from them at the people standing in front of her.

"Is everything alright, chairwoman?" Touko's voice followed Rinon's.

"You seemed lost in thought for a moment." Natsume pointed out, looking at the chariwoman with slight concern.

"I was just suprised to see who is in possession of him." Kazane explained her sudden pause to them, "This isn't who I was excepting to see in company of Grimoire Guthrum when Ayaka handed me those pictures."

She set the pictures down on the desk, allowing the others to take a good look at them. The others quickly looked at them. The only people who didn't take a look at them were Ayaka and Atori who already knew what was displayed on those pictures.

"Y/N?" Honoka and Touko exclaimed in suprise at the same time once they set their eyes on the person displayed on the pictures to be in company of Grimoire Guthrum as Natsume and Rinon exchanged glances, because neither of them really knew Y/N. They only knew him by sight from school, but never interacted with him.

Honoka looked at Touko, suprised by her knowing Y/N too, "You know Y/N Touko-san?"

"He often comes to the maid cafe I work at a part time job. I hardly interacted with him outside my work, though." Touko explained to Honoka about how she knew Y/N, "How do you know him Takamiya-kun?"

"He's my neighbour." Honoka answered, his suprised expression not leaving his face, "He lives a few houses down the street . We always take the same bus to school. He walked me and Kasumi-chan to this school and showed us around, back when we transferred to it."

Rinon shifted her gaze from the pictures at Ayaka, "How did you found out it was this guy, Princess?"

"It was back on Thursday when he visited Takamiya-kun to ask him if he could take pictures of the classes he missed in the last three days." Ayaka began her explanation to how she began to suspect Y/N, the others listening to what she had to say to them, "When his visit was nearing an end, he mentioned the bombings which is something he, as a normal citizen shouldn't know about."

"This is what happened." Honoka added, still processing the information that his foreign neighbour was in possession of Grimoire Guthrum for all this time, "He tried to play it off to us as a bad joke to us and I believed in it."

"Unlike Takamiya-kun, I didn't believe him, because I saw how he became genuinely upon mentioning the bombings." Ayaka continued her explanation, "It was as if he had just realized that he made a mistake and said something he shouldn't have said." She turned to look at Atori, "I told Atori to keep an eye on him for a day or two in order to see if my suspicious were correct the day after during lunch break."

"This is why you wanted to speak with her in private for a brief moment?" Natsume question, earning a nod of confirmation.

"Atori." Kazane called out for the blue haired witch, causing the said girl to look at her, "What did you observed when you were watching Y/N?"

"I should have expected to be asked about it." Atori or rather her handpuppet spoke for the first time since this meeting started, "I couldn't really do my job on the day Princess asked me to, because the streets were cold as shit for the rest of the day after what happened on the courtyard."

"Sorry." Touko whispered to herself, guiltily.

"I followed him the next day after school, because, yesterday I could actually move around the city without freezing my ass off." Atori continued, "I followed him to his house and just observed it from the distance, until I saw him leaving it about half an hour later with the company of a floating book. I immediately took the first picture of it as a proof of Princess' theory. L/N summoned his broom and took off shorty after. I summoned my broom and followed him throughout the city afterwards, taking a few more pictures of him as I did so."

"This must mean he knew about magic for all this time" Natsume stated, her gloved hand on her chin, "How did he managed to hid it from us?"

Kazane shook her head at what Natsume was saying, "He couldn't have been a magic user for all this time. I would have noticed if he was one."

"Does that mean Y/N was not a magic user when he discovered Grimoire Guthrum?" Touko wondered, "Would he even be able to spot him if he was a normal citizen when he stumbled upon him?"

"This could be what happened, because Grimoire Guthrum is visible to the normal citizens for as long as he doesn't have a user." Kazane admitted, "But I can't think of how he'd be able to do it in the situation in which it happened. Grimoire Guthrum was taken from my office after Weekend attacked. He should be in a safe place alongside many other civilians when Grimoire Guthrum was stolen from my office."

"I noticed something about L/N when I was following him throughout the city." Atori announced, knowing that she had to tell them about it now that this topic was brought up, "He doesn't seem like someone who used magic for a very long time. In fact, he seemed to be still in the process of learning how to fly properly on his own broom."

The others either nodded exchanged glances with someone after receiving this information from Atori. This seemed to make their theory about Y/N being someone who was completely new to magic more believable, but they couldn't take it for the truth without the confirmation from the person they were just talking about right now.

"He seems to know about Workshop and Tower Witches." Atori continued, "Because he kept looking around himself as if he was trying to avoid getting spotted by someon. It made following him harder as I had to find a spot to hide every five seconds."

"It's not suprising that he knows about us." Kazane stated, "Even if he didn't know about magic, before he came across Grimoire Guthrum, he probably found out about everything from him."

"This might be why he kept himself a secret for all this time." Honoka stated, "He didn't know what people from our city know about magic and decided to not take the risk and keep it to himself."

"What about the chairwoman?" Natsume asked, "He most likely knows about her being a witch. He found Grimoire Guthrum in her office, after all."

"Yes." Honoka nodded, "But I don't think he knows from what Witch faction the chairwoman is. I don't think Grimoire Guthrum would know to tell him about it either."

"What about the place he went into with Grimoire Guthrum?" Rinon asked as she had her eyes on the picture displaying Y/N and Grimoire Guthrum in an abandoned looking building, feeling as if she had seen this place somewhere before, "Where were those taken?"

"It was taken at the abandoned warehouse." Atori explained, adding the name of the street at the end, "It's quite easy to say that this place is his training grounds. I saw a few destroyed crates around it after I took a proper look around the place from my viewing spot."

Rinon nodded her head to herself once she heard what place it was from Atori. She was not suprised that Y/N choose that place as his training grounds. Not many people went into it these days. She actually considered making it the headquarters of her gang at some point, but ultimately scrapped this idea.

Natsume pointed at the picture Atori was referring to, mostly at the red ball flying away from Y/N and Grimoire Guthrum,  "What is this, chairwoman? Is this one of the spells of Grimoire Guthrum?"

"Yes. This is Dark Blast." Kazane explained, looking at the picture Natsume had asked her about, "One of the eight spells of Grimoire Guthrum. It's not suprising that they started with this one. It was described to be the easiest one to learn from Grimoire Guthrum's spells in one of the few records about him that were saved to this day." She shifted her gaze back to Atori, "Did he mastered this spell?"

"I wouldn't say that." Atori replied as her handpuppet shook it's head to clarify her point, "Yesterday was the first time when he managed to cast it. He seemed pretty happy about it. He managed to cast it two more times, before he and that book decided to end the training for the day and to head back home."

"Is there anything else you have noticed about them?" Kazane asked Atori another question about Y/N as she made a mental note out of what the blue haired witch just told her, wanting to know as much as she could about him, before she will go to confront him about Grimoire Guthrum.

"From what I've seen yesterday." Atori began, "They seem to be on friendly terms with each other, like a teacher and an apprentice. They talk with each other pretty normally. I've seen them annoy each other a few times, but they always ended up going back to talking with each other normally shorty after that."

Kazane nodded her head at the information. She shifted her gaze between Ayaka and Atori, "Good work on finding him Ayaka and Atori. We would have been still looking for who took Grimoire Guthrum from my office if it wasn't for you two."

"What will you do now, chairowoman?" Natsume wanted to know.

"I will have to confront him about it as soon as possible." Kazane replied, "I don't know if he possesses any danger to us or to the normal citizens, but he still has Grimoire Guthrum in his possession. He still has to explain himself."

"Do you want us to go with you?" Rinon questioned.

"Yes." Kazane nodded, "It will be better if all of us will confront him. It will be better if something will go wrong."

"How are we going to do this, chairwoman?" Honoka asked, earning Kazane's attention, "I may not know Y/N very well, but he's not a bad person. I'm sure he will explain himself to us once we will tell him who we are."

"Do you vouch for him, Honoka-kun?" Kazane asked Honoka in return, looking at him.

Honoka nodded his head, "I do."

"I'd like to vouch for him too." Touko raised her hand as if she was in the middle of the class, "I may not known Y/N very well, but he never came off as a bad person to me."

"We will try talking with him about it, but it is not up to me how this situation will end. I won't hesitate to use force If he will try to do anything funny." Kazane said to which Honoka and Touko nodded in understanding, "Is there something else we should know about him, before we will leave to confront him?"

----

Unaware of who was heading towards his house to pay him a visit, Y/N was spending his free time in one of his favourite ways to do, playing video games. He had his eyes set on his monitor as he moved across the streets of City 17 as Gordon Freeman, using either a crowbar or a handgun to take out each member of civil protection on his way as he did so. Grimoire Guthrum was floating above his shoulder, observing the video game his user was playing as he was interested in learning more about it, because it was one of the many things that he knew weren't present in the times before his slumber.

Why was Y/N showing this particular game to Guthrum? The answer was quite simple. He really liked the franchise. It was one of his favourite video games franchises, alongside Doom and Portal and he just happened to have it downloaded on his PC. It was one of the video games he played whenever he didn't knew what to play, followed by a few other games such, the Doom franchise being one of the examples of it, because he knew he won't be dissappointed by it.

He took his eyes off the screen of his monitor and looked up at Guthrum, questioning Guthrum about his thoughts about it so far, "What are your thoughts on it, so far?"

"I haven't watched you play this activity you call a video game for long enough to make my mind about it. Give me one more hour and I'll make my opinion about it."  Grimoire Guthrum replied, "I have noticed one thing about it, though. The characters from this video game seem to really admire this Gordon Freeman individual."

"They surely do." Y/N nodded his head, "The further we will go into the game, followed by the two episodes that are the continuation to this game, you will understand why people around him admire him so much."

"However, I feel like there is one thing that I need to question you about it." Grimoire Guthrum told his user as Y/N hummed to show him he was waiting for his question, "Why is Gordon so silent? I don't believe I heard him say anything so far, even though the other characters from this game such as Alyx or Barney interacted with him."

"He is a silent protagonist." Y/N explained to Guthrum was Gordon Freeman was silent and why he will be silent throughout the entire playthrough, "Silent protagonist was a pretty common thing in video games in the times when this game came out. There were a few exceptions, though, like GTA. If you want another example, the earlier, the better Call of Duty's had a silent protagonist as well until the first Black Ops came out in 2010. This silent protagonist thing is not as common as it used to be several years ago, though."

"If you say so, lad." Grimoire Guthrum moved up and down in understanding, "What about your sister? Does she like to spend her free time doing this activity as well?"

"Yes. She's the one who introduced me to them when I was far younger." Y/N nodded his head in confirmation, "We have different favourite franchises, though. She prefers Silent Hill or rather the first few games from this series and Devil May Cry."

"Only the first few ones?" Grimoire Guthrum brought up one thing heard about Silent Hill in  Y/N's response, "Should I know why?"

"She should be the onesto tell you this, not me, because I haven't really played much Silent Hill. I always preferred Resident Evil." Y/N explained as the nights he spent playing horror video games with his sister back when he was younger flew through his head, "I have to warn you about something, though. She gets pretty emotional when talking about the cancellation Silent Hills a few years back. She always tells it as if it was some sort of a story."

"Emotional?" Grimoire Guthrum sounded suprised by this part, "Why? Why would your sister get so emotional when talking about it?"

"She was pretty angry when it got cancelled. In fact, I have never seen her this angry as when she was when she found that this game will never come out." Y/N explained as the images of her dissappointed and angered sister flew through his mind. It was one of the very few times in his life when he saw her truly angry, "Can't blame her, though. I might not be a big fan of the series, but the game seemed promising and it a shame that it will never come out."

Y/N and Grimoire Guthrum couldn't continue their conversation, because they were cut off by the sound of someone knocking on the front door to L/N's household. Y/N paused his game and turned his chair around, now facing the opened exit from his room as Grimoire Guthrum turned away from Y/N's monitor and looked at the exit from his users room, both of them wondering who and why was knocking on the door to Y/N's house.

"Who is knocking on your door, lad?" Grimoire Guthrum voiced the question that was bothering him, glancing at the opened exit from Y/N's room, "Were you planning to have some visitors today? If yes, then why I don't know anything about it?"

"No." Y/N shook his head as he got up from his chair, suprised by it as much as Guthrum was, "I wasn't planning to have any visitors today." He placed his hand on chin, figuring out who was known for paying him unexcepted visits, "It might be someone from the neighbourhood or it might be my cousins Kaede and Koutarou paying me an unexpected visit. It wouldn't be the first time when they did."

"Koutarou and Kaede?" Grimoire Guthrum asked as he recalled hearing those names from his user before, "Your cousins from another city, who will move in to live with you in at the end of the summer break in order to attend your school?"

"Yes." Y/N nodded in confirmation as walked past Grimoire Guthrum, moving towards the exit from his room. He shrugged his shoulders, "Only one way to find out who it is. I'll go check it out." He looked over his shoulder at the floating book behind him, "Don't come out of my room unless I will tell you it's nothing important or unless I will return to it myself."

"There was no need of telling me about such a thing, lad." Grimoire Guthrum assured his current user that he didn't need to be told about it, "This is exactly what I was intending to do."

Y/N nodded his head at Guthrum and turned his gaze away from him, "I'm coming!" He shouted, signalling the person that just knocked on his door that he was home. He walked out of his room and began making his way along the hallway towards the stair case, wondering who was knocking on his door.

It wouldn't be a big problem if it turned out to be someone from his neighbourhood, because his neighbours rarely ever went into his home whenever they knocked on his door. There would be a problem if it turned out to be Kaede and Koutarou waiting for him on the other side of the door, though, because he still haven't decided if he should tell them about Guthrum when they will move in to live with him. Them bringing their little sister Kotonoha with them might have been a problem too as they started bringing her along after she became old enough. Good thing Guthrum was completely invisible for the people who weren't aware of magic being real.

His sister was a completely different story. He already decided to tell her about Guthrum the next time he'll see her at the start of the summer break. He chuckled to himself, wondering how she was going to react to it. She'd be either excited or creeped or weirded out by it. He could already imagine her referencing to her favourite TV show, when asking him questions about Guthrum afterwards.

He made his way down the stairs and walked over to the front door of his house. He grabbed the door handle and twisted it, opening the entrance to his house, "How can I..."

His words died in his throat the moment he saw who just knocked on his door. He saw his neighbour Honoka Takamiya, but he wasn't the only one. He saw the school Princess Ayaka Kagari with him. The chairwoman and Ayaka's mother Kazane Kagari was with them as well. So was Touko Hio. So was that pyjama wearing delinquent who raided his school with her goons not that long ago. So was this blue haired girl with cat ears and so was this black haired girl with short hair and glasses over her nose.

Y/N's eyes slightly widened upon seeing all of these people standing in front of him, feeling panic slowly raising inside him, quickly guessing the reason of their unexcepted visit. He sighed interally. It was about him making a comment about the bombings a few days ago when he got too comfortable when talking with Honoka, right? Ayaka and Honoka didn't buy the lie he was trying to sell them about it being an unfunny joke and came here with the others to confront him about right it. This was exactly what was happening, right?

He cleared his throat, trying his best to his nervousness from them, "...As I was saying. What brings all of you here? I certainly wasn't excepting to have any visitors today."

"Hey, Y/N." Honoka greeted his neighbour as he stood in front of him, noticing how Y/N was  trying tonot act nervous in front of them after a few seconds, "I understand that you might be suprised by this sudden visit."

"You bet I am." Y/N gave Honoka a quick nod of his head in response, confirming his neighbours words, "I would never except you to pay me a visit with all these people. May I ask again. What brings all of you here?"

"We know." Ayaka went straight to the point as she had her eyes set on the foreign boy from her class, not wanting to waste time.

"Know?" Y/N asked as his theory about the reason of their visit turned out to be true, pretending to not know what she was talking about, "Know about what? I'm sorry, Princess, but you will have to specify what you mean to me."

Kazane looked down at Y/N as she decided to explain the reason of their visit more clearly to him, "We know about Grimoire Guthrum, Y/N. You don't need to worry about anything." Her gaze turned slightly into a warning one, "No harm will come to you if you won't try to do anything funny."

"W-what?" Y/N cursed himself mentally for stuttering as the nervoussnes he was try to keep hidden within him started to show in him.

"I don't think I need to repeat myself, because you know what are we talking about. There's no point in hiding the truth about you being in possession of Grimoire Guthrum." Kazane told him, "My daughter and Atori provided us all the evidence we needed to determine if you're in his possession. Otherwise we wouldn't be standing here now."

Y/N remained unresponsive for a brief moment, wondering what he should do in this situation. He ultimately decided to not deny his association with Grimoire Guthrum to them. He saw no sense in hiding it from them, If they had all the evidence they needed to know they won't make a mistake by coming here to question him about it.

He motioned to them to come into his house and moved to the side, giving them enough space to walk into his house without having the need of pushing through him, "Come in. We will discuss everything inside."

The people standing in front of him all exchanges glances with each other, some of them were suprised by him immediately inviting them into his home in order to talk about Grimoire Guthrum instead of trying to deny it, just like most of them excepted him to do. His nervous reaction to the reason of their visit made them believe he'd try to deny it even more. Honoka and Touko smiled slightly, gladdened to see Y/N inviting them in to discuss about Grimoire Guthrum without causing any trouble.

"...That was fast." The one wearing a pyjama voiced what was on her mind, entering Y/N house after Natsume, as if she came here ready for the fight, "I was excepting him to deny it until we would have to prove it ourselves to him."

"Why should I try to keep it a secret for longer?" Y/N questioned pyjama wearing girl, looking over his shoulder at her, and answered to his own question afterwards, "The only way to make you believe me I don't have Guthrum in my house would be letting you search it, which would result in you finding him, anyway. Either way, you would find him no matter what I would do in this situation."

The were one more thing why Y/N didn't even try to deny him being in possession of Guthrum to them. He didn't want to fight them, because he would easily be defeated by them, even with Guthrum's help. He didn't have to think about which witches of which Witch faction he had just invited into his home to talk about Guthrum, because he already knew about all of them being Workshop Witches. He knew about it after seeing Ayaka and Honoka among them. He assumed them to be associated with the Workshop Witches ever since he watched how Tanpopo and her friends attacked them and suffered a miserable defeat a few days back.

As Atori walked into his house, Y/N glanced outside through the opened entrance to see if there was anyone else outside. There was not. All of them were already inside his house at the moment. He closed the door and turned away from it, watching how all of his guests took off their footwear and placed them down on the floor on the spots for them. Honoka looked around his surroundings out of curiosity once he took of his shoes as he has never been inside Y/N's house before.

"Can you all go to the living room? It's right over there." Y/N said to his guests as he pointed at entrance to the living room, "We will discuss everything in it."

"What about Grimoire Guthrum?" Kazane wanted to know where Grimoire Guthrum was at the moment. It was the reason why she came here in the first place. She knew there was a possibility of Y/N playing a trick on them and leading them into a trap, but she actually doubted it was the case in this situation because of the way Y/N was behaving so far. She was going to keep her guard up, though, just in case if her judgement would be proven to be wrong, "Where is he?"

"He's in my room. Give me a second. I'll call him to come down here." Y/N answered as he turned away from her to face the stairs. He called out for the floating book right after, "Guthrum!"

"Lad?" Came Guthrum's voice from Y/N's room. Kazane looked in the direction the voice came from as Honoka, Touko and Natsume were taken aback by how deep Guthrum's voice was. Rinon seemed to be slightly taken aback by it as well, but hid it pretty well. Atori didn't react to it, because she got the chance to hear it yesterday when she was spying on Y/N and Guthrum and Ayaka remained emotionless as ever, "Who was knocking on your doors? Was it someone from your neighbourhood or one of your kin?"

"Forget about it! It was nothing important!" Y/N responded, "By the way, I just remembered something and I need your help with it! Come to the living room!"

"Understood!" The floating book voiced his understanding of Y/N's words, "I'll be down there in an instant!"

After telling Guthrum to come down to the living, Y/N made his way into the said room and sat down on the nearest free seat, waiting for the floating book to arrive at it along with Honoka, Ayaka, Kazane, Atori, Rinon, Touko and Natsume. Y/N couldn't really describe the atmosphere in the room.

It would probably be tense if the situation at the front doors from a few moments earlier played out differently, less friendlier than it actually did.

Luckilly, the atmosphere that Y/N couldn't even name died down a few moments later when everyone's attention was brought towards the entrance to the living room when Grimoire Guthrum floated right through it.

"What did you ne..." The floating book paused upon seeing the people in Y/N's living room. He immediately looked at his user, demanding to know what was going on, "...What in the world are doing, lad? Why are you calling out for me in front all of these witches?! I thought our association was supposed to remain a secret for now?! You said yourself you want it to remain a secret for now!?"

"Calm down Guthrum." Y/N told Guthrum to calm down before explaining to him why he was not keeping him a secret anymore, "They already know. It's the reason why all of them came here to pay me a visit. I don't see any sense in keeping it a secret for any longer."

"How did they found out about this in the first place?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know, "I thought we made sure to be as cautious the best we could?"

"Does it matter?" Y/N asked him in return, "They found out. Our secret's out. Nothing we will do right now will change it."

Grimoire Guthrum was silent for a brief moment as if he was considering what to make of this situation, "...I will have to agree with you on this one, lad. There's no point in hiding it anymore if they already know about our association." He turned to face the other people in the living room in order to introduce himself to them, "Pleased to make your acquaintance. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Grimoire Guthrum! A being of incredible power and incalculable importance. My powers are desired among many people among your kind and I hope I will get respect from you that I deserve!"

"I don't think I need to introduce myself to you." Y/N said right after Guthrum introduced himself to his guests in his own Guthrum way. The other people in the living room were either unamused by at Guthrum's introduction as he showed off his large ego to them in less than a minute of knowing them by it or sweatdropped at it. For a second, he could have sworn he saw how Atori's handpuppet rolled it's eyes, "Because I believe you already know my name from either Honoka or Touko."

Touko looked at Kazane, silently asking her for permission. The chairwoman offered her a slight nod of her head in response. "Y/N, I don't think I need to introduce every single person here, because there are a few people here that you already know." She answered to Y/N's words, referring to herself, Honoka, Ayaka and Kazane. Back in the school, they agreed that either she or Honoka should do the introductions if the situation would turn out the way it was turning out now, because they were the only ones who knew Y/N. She looked at Natsume, Rinon and Atori who were seated on the same couch and continued, "You must be meeting them for the first time. Allow me to introduce them to you."

"There's not need of introducing Rinon to me." Y/N paused for a second, waiting for them to correct him about Rinon's name in case if he got it wrong as he wasn't exactly sure if it was her name. When they didn't correct him, he continued, "I know who she is. She was quite a delinquent in our school, before she was suspended. Not to mention the raid she and her goons did on our school not that long ago. It was quite a day to say the least."

Touko looked at Rinon. The green haired girl shrugged her shoulders, not suprised by Y/N knowing who she was. Many students from the school avoided to look at her in fear of pissing her off. Touko looked back at Y/N a second later and nodded her head in understanding at him and she gestured towards Natsume, "This is Natsume. Our leader."

"Nice to meet you Y/N. My name is Natsume Mikage." Natsume introduced herself to Y/N, offering him a slight smle.  The said boy paused for a brief moment after hearing her last name. Mikage? Where did he heard it before?, "I've been made leader of the team of the five witches who protect the town."

After Natsume's introduction, Touko gestured towards the blue haired witch with cat ears, "And this is Atori."

"She is a little brusque, but she's a very good girl." Natsume added when Atori remained silent and just stared at Y/N, "Please get along!"

"Nice to meet both of you." Y/N nodded his head at the introductions of Atori and Natsume from Touko. He looked at the chairwoman of his school and said to her, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly as he did so, because he knew he had some explaining to do. At least he will use this discussion to learn things he didn't learn about from Guthrum. Just like the idenitify of the person who bombed the entire city, "So, um. I believe we should start our talk now, because I believe I have some explaining to do. What do you want to know?"

"How did managed to wake up Grimoire Guthrum from his slumber?" Kazane asked him one of the questions on her mind, "I tried to accomplish it for years, ever since I found him, but I couldn't fight the spell to do so. My attempts at waking him up always ended up in failure, no matter what spell I used on him."

"I'm sorry, chairwoman, but I'm sure that my answer will dissappoint you." Y/N answered as Kazane looked at him, "I'm not the one who woke him up. I just happened to stumble upon him in the moment of his awakening."

"We believe the restoration of this city is what caused me to wake up from my slumber." Grimoire Guthrum added his part to Y/N's explanation.

"To be honest, I don't think I would even be capable of waking him up." Y/N stated as he continued, "I didn't even knew magic was real until I stumbled upon him. At first, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me when I saw him floating in the air. I was quickly proven to be wrong when he spoke to me, though."

The others in the living room exchanged looks as soon as they heard Y/N and Guthrum's explanation about how the two of them encountered each other, paying the biggest attention to the part about how Guthrum was at last awakened from his long nap. It was apparently caused by the restoration of the city, not by Y/N who wasn't even aware of magic being real until that point. It was when they found out one more thing about Y/N. He was a completely normal citizen, like many other people from this city, back then.

The thought of him being a normal citizen when he stumbled upon Grimoire Guthrum crossed their minds after Atori told them about Y/N being someone who seemed to be still in the process of mastering a few basic things such as flying on the broom. It still didn't made any sense of them, even after it was confirmed to them by him.

How was he able to find himself in Kazane's office where he encountered Grimoire Guthrum in the first place? He was supposed to be put in a safe place along with all normal citizens where he would wait for them to take care of the problem and all of his memories of this event would be erased once everything would be brought back to the way it was before the bombings.

"How did you found yourself in my office in the first place?" Kazane wasted no time and questioned him about this matter, wanting to have the answer to it, "All the civilians, including your fellow students have been transported into a safe place. You should be transported alongside them."

"I was with the other students back when the city was bombed, but I got seperated from them not long after we left the school building." Y/N answered the question he received from the chairwoman on his school, "I tried to find them afterwards, but the city became a total ghost town. I felt like I was the only living person in there at the moment."

"You were out in the ruins of our city for all this time?" Touko asked, guilty expression slowly forming on her facial features. It was her job as a Workshop Witch to protect the civilians and a situation like the one Y/N had to go through should have never happened. It was a big mistake on their part.

"Yes." Y/N nodded in confirmation, ignoring the looks of either guilt or suprise he was receiving from most of the people in his living room, "At one point, I found mysef back in the school and I went into the chairwoman's office, just moments before everything was restored." He looked up at Guthrum and continued, "It was when I met Guthrum. He offered me a deal shorty after. I will become his new user and he will provide me all the answers I need. There is still a few things that I don't know about, through, like I still don't know who bombed the city during our exams."

"How was I supposed to tell you this information, lad, when I don't know the answer myself?" Grimoire Guthrum questioned, thinking that his user blamed him for not telling him about who was responsible for the bombings, "I woke up in the exact moment of restoration of your city. When was I supposed to learn who was responsible for the destruction?"

"Did I said that I'm blaming you for not answering this question to me? If I did, I would already say it to you." Y/N looked up at Guthrum, looking quite suprised to hear this from the floating book. He turned to look at Kazane right after, a hint of pleading look forming on his facial features, "Could you tell me who was responsible for the bombings? I just want to know who it was."

Kazane hesitated for a brief moment, debating with herself if she should tell him about it. She looked at Y/N and saw the look on his face. This boy genuinely wanted to know who bombed the city. She responded to his question, deciding to tell him about it, "It was caused by a Tower Witch known as Weekend."

"Weekend." Y/N nodded his head in acknowledgement. He remembered hearing this rather weird name  for a human somewhere before. It was when the three witches attacked Honoka and Ayaka during the lunch break, "What happened to her? Did you caught her or did she managed to leave the city?"

"You don't need to worry about her. She's been taken care of." Kazane replied as Y/N smiled slightly nodded in understanding, gladdened to hear that the person responsible for the bombings was taken care of, "I assume you know everything regarding Workshop and Tower Witches if you agreed to become Grimoire Guthrum's new user?"

"Yes. I know all about it. I know how to tell the difference between Workshop and Tower Witches.." Y/N confirmed it with a nod of his head and looked up at the floating book, "Guthrum here fullfiled his part of the deal and told me everything that I should know about everything related to magic." He shifted his gaze around the people in the living room, "This is why I let you into my house so easily. I know all of you are Workshop Witches."

His words about them being Workshop Witches suprised them, as none of them recalled doing anything around him to make him figure it out.

"How did you know about this?" Rinon asked what everyone else were thinking at the moment.

"I got an idea from it when I saw Tanpopo and her friends attack Honoka and Princess a few days back." Y/N explained to them how he knew they were Workshop Witches, "I recognized them as Tower Witches because Guthrum told me that they wear white clothing." He looked at Honoka and Ayaka, "Them attacking you is why I kind of figured out or rather assumed, because it wasn't confirmed to me until today, you two to be with Worshop Witches. Princess in the chairwoman's daughter so I assumed her to be a Workshop Witch as well. "

"You saw how Karate-san and her friends attacked us?" Honoka wanted to make sure if he didn't misheard it. It would make sense for Y/N to see this fight if it even could be called one, considering that he walked past him and Ayaka shorty after it happened.

"Karate-san?" Y/N looked confused by Honoka saying Tanpopo's last name wrong, "Isn't her last name Kuraishi?"

"I don't know. I never remember it correctly." Honoka replied. He could never remember her last name which always annoyed her, especially now that she was living in the same household as he did and he always got her last name wrong in the morning during breakfast. He decided to went back to the topic of the conversation, "You're not wrong about us being Workshop Witches." He looked at Ayaka who was next to him, "I'm Kagari-san apprentice."

Y/N nodded his head at the confirmation he received from Honoka. Good to know his judgement about it wasn't wrong. He could imagine how things would have turned out if he was wrong. He probably wouldn't be talking with them now if he did. They would probably attack him right away, "Good to know I wasn't wrong about you."

"Why didn't you tell me and Kagari-san about Grimoire Guthrum if you knew about us being Workshop Witches?" Honoka wanted to know why Y/N was keeping Grimoire Guthrum a secret from them for all this tme. He wouldn't ask him this question if Y/N didn't knew about them knowing about magic, just like he assumed, but him already knowing about it and still not saying a thing made him a bit confused, "You know we wouldn't do anything to you. I would vouch for you, just like I did today, along with Touko-san."

"I was being cautious." Y/N explained himself, not seeing the point in lying about it, "Guthrum may have explained to me everything he remembered about magic and everything surrounding it, but I was still new to all of this. Not to mention I couldn't figure out how I should break the news to you after I found out abou you knowing about magic. What was I supposed to do? Just walk up to you and Princess and say "Hey, Honoka. I know about magic and stuff and I know about you and her and the chairwoman being capable of using it. By the way, I'm currently in possession of a talking magical book that you may know as Grimoire Guthrum. I found him in the chairwomans office and I'm currently learning how to do magic from him."."

Honoka nodded his head, understanding why Y/N decided to keep Grimoire Guthrum a secret as well. After all, Y/N was all by himself when he found out about magic being real. When he learned about it, he had Kagari-san for him to guide him and tell him all about it. He wasn't the only one from his surroundings who was keeping something like that a secret. Kasumi-chan kept the fact about her being a Witch hidden away from him until he was ambushed the Tower Witches as well.

"I understand." He voiced his understanding to Y/N, "To be honest, you're not the only one who kept something like that a secret from me. Kasumi-chan kept the fact about her being a Witch a secret from me for some time as well.

"What?" Y/N exclaimed in suprise at this revelation as it was something completely new to him. Kasumi was a witch too?, "Kasumi is a witch?"

"She is." Rinon confirmed it as Y/N looked at her, "She's my disciple and my successor as one of the five Witches who protect the town."

Y/N turned away from Rinon and leaned back on his seat after receiving this information, letting his brain process it, his expression showing everyone how suprised he was by it. He wasn't excepting Kasumi to be a magic user as well. It made him wonder how many people from his surroundings were magic users.

"You okay, Y/N?" Honoka asked his neighbour after noticing his reaction to his younger sister being a witch. He couldn't blame him, though. It came off as suprise to him as well.

"Yes." Y/N offered his neighbour an assuring nod of his head, "I'm just wondering how many people from my surroundings are magic users and have no idea about it. The next thing you'll tell me is that either Kayano-sensei or Mikage-sensei or both of them are magic users too."

"You're half right." Natsume admitted as Y/N shifted his gaze to her, "Kayano-sensei is a normal citizen, but Kyoichiro..." She paused for a second and cleared her throat, "...Mikage-sensei manages the memories of normal citizens whenever something related to magic happens in the city."

Y/N nodded his head in understanding. It would explain why everyone forgot about the bombings, or about the sudden coldstorm. It was when another thing clicked to him. He now knew why Natsume's last name sounded so familiar to him. It was because it was exactly the same as his chemistry teacher.

"You and Mikage-sensei have the same last name." He pointed out, "Is he your relative? Dad or something?"

Natsume shook her head at Y/N's suggestion of Mr. Mikage being her dad, "No. He's not my dad. He's my uncle."

Kazane looked at Grimoire Guthrum as Y/N nodded his head in understanding to Natsume's explanation, "We shoulds talk with you as well Grimoire Guthrum, because you have some explaining to do too. What happened to you all those years ago? Why were you put to sleep for this long?

Grimoire Guthrum didn't respond to Kazane's question right away, confusing her a bit as she excepted to hear him answer her question. He instead looked down at Y/N. His current user returned his glance and looked up at him, the two of them exchanging a brief glance with each other, realizing she and the others were unaware of Guthrum's memory loss.

"I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think it will be possible." Y/N scratched the back of his head as he looked at Kazane, knowing his answer was going to dissappoint her again.

Kazane shifted her gaze from Guthrum to Y/N, "Why is that?"

"Guthrum is suffering from a massive memory loss." Y/N revealed as Kazane shifted her gaze back to Guthrum, her expression demanding a confirmation from the floating book.

"He's not lying. This is a problem I've been dealing with ever since I woke up from slumber." Grimoire Guthrum confirmed his memory loss to Kazane, "My memory is filled with blanks. I can't remember most of my life, no matter how much I will attempt to remember something."

"At first, we thought it might be a side effect of him being asleep for very long that will wear off as the time will pass." Y/N added as Guthrum hummed in confirmation, "But, this theory of ours was quickly proven to be false. The days passed and Guthrum's memory is not getting any better."

Kazane let out a sigh at this information, because she hoped that Guthrum's awakening would provide all the missing information regarding his disappearance and the death of his previous user, "This is unfortunate. I was hoping your awakening would prove me the answers to the questions regarding your sudden disappearance."

"For how long Guthrum was missing?" Y/N asked out of curiosity as he didn't got the chance to learn about this information, yet as Guthrum hummed, interesting in learning about it as well. Perharps it would make him remember something from his past.

"Grimoire Guthrum was considered to be destroyed for over 140 years and I believe his sleep lasted the same amount of time." Kazane answered, causing Y/N's eyes to shot open which didn't went unnoticed by the rest. The others in the living room didn't blame him for reacting like this. They reacted the same once they heard about this from the chairwoman.

"...I was asleep for this long?..." Grimoire Guthrum seemed to be suprised by it as much as his current user was. He paused for a second as if he was processing the information that he just received from Kazane, "...Good word."

Y/N rubbed his forehead at this information, suprise was evident in his voice as he spoke, "This is far longer than either have excepted." He looked up at Grimoire Guthrum, "At least we now know why so many common modern stuff is completely unknown to you."

Grimoire Guthrum moved up and down, the others who didn't saw him do it before understanding it as nodding, "Good to know I didn't lost the memories of such inventions like I did with memories of many other things."

"Yeah." Y/N nodded his head, "People back in your age could only wonder if such things will exist in the future."

"I must admit, lad, it is quite relieving to know that it wasn't lost among many other memories of mine." Grimoire Guthrum admitted.

"Yeah." Y/N once again nodded his head, "No doubt."

"What are you talking about?" Natsume asked.

"He's been teaching me about magic and in return for it I was showing him all the modern stuff, like television or PC." Y/N explained as Natsume nodded in understanding, "In fact, I was just showing him what a video game is, just moments before you guys knocked on my door."

"Video game?" Atori spoke for the first time since this entire discussion begun or rather her handpuppet said it as she used it to say those words, "What video game were you showing to him?"

Y/N looked at Atori, slightly suprised by her way of communication a bit, because he had never met anyone who used such a method to talk with the other people. He responded to her question shorty after, "Half Life 2."

Atori titled her head to the side in an interested manner as her handpuppet asked Y/N another question, "You like the series?"

"Of course I do. It's one my favourites alongside other series such as Doom or Portal." Y/N answered, "The question should be who doesn't like Half Life."

"Atori." Kazane cut into the conversation before Atori could reply to Y/N's words, her eyes now set on the blue haired witch in question, "I believe this isn't the right time for a conversation like this.

Atori nodded her head at Kazane and stopped herself or rather her handpupped from answering Y/N's words, allowing the chairwoman to continue her conversation with Y/N and Grimoire Guthrum about the latters memory loss.

"...I don't blame you for being suprised by it." The chairwoman admitted after a second as she shifted her attention from Atori back to Grimoire Guthrum, "You vanishing without a trace for so long caused many witches to believe you were destroyed. I thought the same until I stumbled upon you a few years back. To be honest I was so shocked when I saw you that at first I had a hard time believing it was really you."

Y/N waited for Kazane to finish speaking and politely called out for her, interested in learning one thing after she brought up the topic of her finding Guthrum, "The chairwoman."

Kazane looked at the current user of Grimoire Guthrum, "What is it?"

"May I ask how did you stumbled upon Grimoire Guthrum?" Y/N asked her the question on his mind, "Mentioning a place from his past might end up awakening some of his missing memories. I don't know if this will work, but it's still worth a try, right?"

Kazane didn't respong to Y/N's suggestion right away. Out of the corner of her eyes, she looked at Ayaka and Honoka, which went unnoticed by the people around her as her head continued to face Grimoire Guthrum. She shifted her attention back to the floating book shorty after. She thought of an answer she should give Y/N and replied, "I can't share much details about it and I can't explain why I can't do it. All I can say is that It was purely coincidental."

Y/N nodded his head in understanding and asked, still wanting to try this a try, "Is there something else you can say to him, though?"

Kazane offered him a slight nod of her head as she knew what or rather who she should mention to Grimoire Guthrum. She shifted her gaze from Y/N to Guthrum and said to the floating book, "Your previous user name was Anders Bardal. He was a young talented mage who came from Norway and was associated with the Workshop Witches. Does his name sound familiar to you?"

Grimoire Guthrum was silent for a few seconds, trying to recall this man anywhere in his memories. He felt like he heard this name, before, but couldn't find any memories with this man, "Something tells me I've heard this name somewhere before, but unfortunely this is all I can say about this man. I don't remember anything else about him."

"Maybe we can try to look for him." Y/N suggested, "Perharps he can help us with it."

Kazane shook her head at this suggestion and explained to Y/N why it was not possible, revealing Anders' fate to him and Guthrum, "I would have done it after I stumbled upon Grimoire Guthrum, but it unfortunely is not possible. Anders is dead. He's been dead for as long as Grimoire Guthrum was missing. He was considered to be missing for over 60 years, until his until body or rather what remained of it was discovered."

Y/N and Guthrum stared at Kazane in silence as they were left stunned without words by this revelation, just like they were when Kazane revelead for how long Guthrum was asleep to them. Grimoire Guthrum was more stunned more than his user, though. This entire conversation with Kazane and the questions from her regarding his disappearance made a lot of questions to which he didn't knew the answer to fly through his head.

What happened to him all these years ago? What kind of person was Anders Bardal? What happened to his previous user? Did he killed him and did he died fighting a powerful opponent? Why was he put to sleep? Was it his own decision or was he forced to go to sleep by the third parties? Those questions along with many others continued to fly through his mind, making him ignore everything else around him.

If he was a normal human like Y/N, he would press his hands against the sides of his head in an attempt to force himself to remember something. The feeling of not being able to answer these questions was driving him crazy. He genuinely hated not having the answer to someone's question.

"Guthrum?" His current user called out for him, worry evident in his voice, "You okay?"

Grimoire Guthrum looked down at him, "I'm perfectly fine, lad. I was just lost in my thoughts. There's no need of worrying about me."

Y/N nodded his head at Guthrum, though a hint of worry remained on his face, but it was completely unnoticeable as he turned to look at Kazane, "What happened with this Anders? Is his cause of death known or is it unknown just like everything else regarding Guthrum's disappearance."

"I don't know the answer to this question. What happened to Anders and his cause of death is unknown to this day." Kazane responded, making Y/N nod his head to himself as she once again set her eyes on Guthrum, "A body of a witch that hasn't been identified to this day was found alongside his. I assume you don't remember anything about her either?"

Grimoire Guthrum thought about it for a moment before responding, now having another wave of questions about his own past flying through his mind, "...No. I can't remember anything about this witch. Nothing comes into my mind when I try to remember. It seems like I am void of any memories related to her."

Kazane let out another sigh once she heard Guthrum's response, pressing her right hand against her forehead. She cursed internally, already thinking how much time she was going to spent looking for the right spell to restore Grimoire Guthrum's memories. She could only hope it would take her less time to find than the one that would wake him up from his sleep. She lost the count of how many cigarettes she smoked to calm down her frustation after another failed attempt. It wasn't as frustating as it was back when she started doing it a few years ago as she thought it wouldn't take her long back then, but it just became more frustating as the years passed.

"I should take into account that you might wake up with a memory loss, considering the amount of time you spent sleeping." She stated, "I will try to find a proper spell that can restore all of your memories. Hopefully it won't take me long to find."

Grimoire Guthrum moved up and down, "You'd have my gratitude if you did and my gratitude isn't something you can simply sweep under the rug. I'm certain that very few people got the chance to earn it from me in the past."

"You can color me suprised." The voice of Atori's handpuppet sounded through everyone's ears. The blue haired witch was looking at Guthrum, her handpuppet having a hint of smirk on it's face, "I would except a book like you to be unable of having a memory loss."

"Book?!" Grimoire Guthrum exclaimed the moment he heard Atori refer to him by this word as he was clearly offended by the blue haired witch referring to him in such a term. His loud voice made Touko jump in her seat. Y/N placed his head on his forehead, knowing what was coming, "Do you know who you're speaking to, dolly? I am Grimoire Guthrum..."

"Guthrum, then." Atori cut Guthrum off, which offended the floating book even more than he already was by her referring him the way he didn't want to be referred.

"Listen here, dolly." Grimoire Guthrum continued, now floating in inches away from Atori's face as Atori's handpuppet smirked, the owner of it enjoying how easy it was to annoy the floating book, "I could swat you away like a mere fly if I wanted to and I will be more than happy to demostrate it to you if you won't show me the respect I deserve!"

The others present in Y/N's living room watched the exchange between Atori and Grimoire Guthrum. Y/N watched it in amusement, just like he did everytime when Guthrum became triggered by it as Kazane looked to be not touched by it as if it was she was excepting to see something like his from Guthrum sooner or later. After all, he was described to have a high opinion about himself in the few remaining records about him. Ayaka's face remained emotionless as Honoka, Rinon, Touko and Natsume all sweatdropped.

Rinon sweatdropped slightly as she watched the exchange between Atori and Grimoire Guthrum. She leaned to the current user of the floating book and whispered to him, feeling how it was going to become more annoying in the future, "Is he always like this?"

"You'll get used to it." Y/N whispered to her in response, shrugging his shoulders as Touko and Natsume looked at him once Rinon asked him this question, "I already did. You should have seen how angry he became the first time when I referred to him by Guthrum, instead of Grimoire Guthrum like he wanted to."

"He was mad at you for calling him Guthrum?" Touko sounded suprised as she spoke to him, "He seems to perfectly okay with you calling him like this."

Y/N once again shrugged his shoulders, "He must have gotten used to it at this point. It's not like he spent time with anyone else for this past week. This is the first time someone referred to him as a book, though."

"So, he will get used to it too?" Touko questioned.

"I don't know." Y/N replied as he watched how Guthrum continued to argue with Atori's handpuppet, the two of them throwing more insults and annoying comments at each other, "From the looks of it, I don't think he will become fond of this new nickname. He wasn't even this angry when I called him Guthrum for the first time and it was in the middle of the argument."

"Argument?" Natsume asked, "What you were arguing about?"

"It was about how I held him when I was running back to my home after we made our deal back in school and I agreed to become his new user." Y/N replied as he pointed to where he was holding Grimoire Guthrum after accepting to become his new user, "I held him there for the entire road back to my house. He was convinced that I would choke him if he had to breathe."

"Why did you held him like this?" Natsume wanted to know, "Grimoire Guthrum became invisible to normal people the moment you agreed to become his user."

"I didn't know about this, back then." Y/N answered which raised more questions from Natsume as Touko and Rinon listened to their conversation while Honoka, Ayaka and Kazane proceeded to watch Grimoire Guthrum and Atori argue.

"He didn't tell you about this?" Natsume asked, looking slightly suprised by Grimoire Guthrum not telling Y/N about him invisible to normal citizens.

"He wanted to when I was running back to my home." Y/N admitted as he looked down at his legs, remembering how exhausted he was when he arrived at his restored house back on that day, "But I wouldn't let him, because of the way I was holding him. Our argument ended with an admission that we were both guilty in that situation. He agreed on it, though I think he had to force himself to do it, because of him having you know, high opinion about himself."

"Yeah." Rinon nodded her head at the part about Guthrum's huge ego, "We've noticed."

Y/N looked away from Natsume and looked at Grimoire Guthrum who was still arguing with Atori about her calling him a book, "Can you two stop? There's this one question I wanted to ask ever since this discussion of our started."

Atori nodded her head as her handpuppet continued to smirk at Guthrum, making the floating book let out an annoyed sigh, clearly not taking a liking in the blue haired witch and her handpuppet comrade.

"How did you found out about me being Guthrum's current user?" The user of Grimoire Guthrum asked one of the questions that what was on his mind ever since this entire discussion once Atori and Guthrum stopped their argument, "Does it have to do with me accidentaly mentioning the bombings when I visited you to take pictures of missing notes from Honoka?"

"What?" Grimoire Guthrum exclaimed as he finally found out how the others found out about Y/N being his current user,  or at least how they began to suspect him, "You did what, lad? I thought I told you to watch out what you're saying when you'll be inside his household!"

Y/N raised his hands in a defensive manner, admitting himself to be a fault here, "I know. I simply got too comfortable when I was talking with Honoka. I tried to play it off like a bad joke afterwards, but I think it's quite easy to say that it did not work."

"To be honest I believed you in it and didn't thought much of it afterwards." Honoka admitted that he believed Y/N's lie as he titled his head to the side at Ayaka, "Kagari-san didn't believe it, though and began her investigation."

"I told Atori to keep an eye on your for a day or two to see if my suspicions about you were correct or not." Ayaka began her explanation to how she got the evidence on Y/N, "She kept an eye on you yesterday ever since the classes ended. She visited me by the end of the day and showed me the pictures she took of you and Grimoire Guthrum which confirmed my suspicions about you."

'Wait a second." Y/N realized something upon setting his gaze on those pictures. He looked at the blue haired girl, "You've been watching and taking pictures of me without my knowledge ever since the classes ended?"

"What?" Atori shrugged her shoulders at his accusation as her handpuppet once again spoke, "My job was to watch over you for a day or two to see if you're related to this book in any way and this is exactly what I did."

Y/N rubbed his head, understanding that Atori was just doing her job, but still, the knowledge that he was watched ever since he left the school by someone he didn't even knew until today was making him feel creeped out.

"We brought the pictures Atori-san took of you with us, just in case if you tried to deny you having Grimoire Guthrum." Honoka's voice brought him out of his thoughts, "Do you want to take a look at them?"

Y/N shrugged his shoulders at his offer, "Why not."

Honoka turned away from Y/N and looked at Kazane. She handed him the pictures and he turned around to look at Y/N again, holding them out to him. Y/N took the pictures from him and began browsing through them, looking through every single one.

"One of those pictures displays you casting Dark Blast." Kazane pointed out as Y/N continued to browse through Atori's pictures, "How long did it took you to cast it?"

Y/N looked up from the picture he was looking at the moment at the ceiling in thought, before answering, "Three days, maybe."

"It would take him shorter if he didn't try too hard, just like I advised him to." Grimoire Guthrum pointed out as Y/N turned his gaze back towards the pictures.

Y/N rolled his eyes at Guthrum, "I already took lesson from it, Guthrum. I will make sure to be as relaxed as I can be when I will be learning other spells from you."

"We still are far away from learning another one of my spells, lad." Grimoire Guthrum pointed out another thing to him, "You still have to master Dark Blast. You might been able to cast it third times, but you still have to master it to the point when you'll be able to cast it as many times as you want, without any difficulties."

"I know." Y/N admitted, nodding his head, "I'm just saying."

"How Y/N has been progressing in his training?" Kazane asked Grimoire Guthrum, causing the others from the Workshop to look at her of, all them thinking the same thing. Was the she doing exactly what they thought she was doing?

"There are still a few basic things that he needs to master, such as flying on his broom. I don't want to talk about how he almost crashed into a building the first time when he was flying back to his household."  Grimoire Guthrum responded as Y/N rolled his eyes at him once again, because Guthrum was mentioning this incident everytime when he summoned his broom, with the intention of either going to his training grounds or going back to his house, "But if we push it aside, his progression isn't too bad for a person who had no experience in using magic before encountering me. He already has gotten over most of the basic stuff and has already managed to cast Dark Blast after trying to do so for a few days. Now he just has to master it, before we will move into another spell. "

"Wait a second. My progression isn't too bad?" Y/N realized something as Guthrum continued to speak to Kazane, "Did you just praised me again? In the second day in a row? I thought it was supposed to be a rare thing from you."

"No. I didn't." Grimoire Guthrum denied it, slightly annoyed by his current user making such a claim, "I was merely explaining to her how you've been progressing with your training. Just like any other teacher would when asked about their apprentice and their progression."

Y/N smiled up at the floating book and shook his head at him in an amused manner, "Whatever you say, Guthrum."

"Y/N." Touko called out for Y/N, making him title his head towards her as Grimoire Guthrum returned to what he was saying to Kazane, Ayaka and Honoka watching the chairwoman talk with the floating book.

"Yes?" He asked her.

"What made you choose a robe like this one?" Touko asked him about the robe she saw him wear on the pictures.

"Me and Guthrum had different ideas when it came to choosing a robe for me." Y/N began his explanation, doing the shortened version of how he and Guthrun went shopping that lasted way longer than either of them thought it will, "I wanted to buy myself a Plague Doctor costume and he wanted me to buy myself something that made me look like a monk, because according to him it was worthy of someone who is his user. We ultimately settled on this suit, because it was the only costume we both liked."

"Plague Doctor costume?" Touko titled her head to the side, "Why did you want to have it as your robe?"

Y/N shrugged his shoulders as he explained his reasoning behind it to her, "I wanted to own a costume like this for a while now. Mostly because of SCP-049 being my favourite SCP. I bought it nevertheless and have it stored somewhere in my room. Where do you think I got my cane from?"

"SCP? Those are those creepypastas from the internet, right?" Touko wanted to make sure if she knew to what Y/N was referring to.

Y/N looked as if someone just slapped him in the face, "What did you just say?"

Touko exchanged a confused glance with Natsume once she noticed how Y/N's expression shifted into a less friendly one. She had one idea she did one of the only two things that truly triggered him, "SCP's are those creepypastas from the internet, right? The scary stories people write on the internet."

"Looks like I need to explain it to you." Y/N stated with a shake of his head, "SCP's are not creepypastas. I admit, SCP 173, the very first SCP ever created, may have been originally a creepypasta, but as the time passed and the community grew larger, it evolved from creepypasta into it's own thing."

"You seem to be really into it." Rinon stated as Touko nodded her head in understanding to Y/N's explanation.

"Researching SCP Foundation is one of the things I like to do in my free time." Y/N answered, "I just find it very interesting for many reasons."

"How did you found out about this store?" Touko asked him another question.

"I found about it from my older sister. She likes to do cosplay in her free time." Y/N replied. Now that he though about it, he kinda missed it, because he and Claire weren't doing it as often as they used to, because of her being out in the college, "She makes me do one with her from time to time as form of bonding between siblings. She brought me to this store whenever she got an idea for one and was in the mood for it. I'm not into it as much as she is, but it's actually kind of fun."

"Then, how about you come to work in the costume cafe I work at a part time job if you like to cosplay?" Touko offered him a job. Y/N's eyes slightly widened in suprise. She was working in the costume cafe as well? He's been into it a few times, but he had never seen her, "I could talk with my boss if you want to. We have one free spot for a boy."

"Thanks of the offer." Y/N shook her head at her offer, declining it, because he didn't really imagine himself working in a place like this. It was another thing that made him different from his sister. Claire would actually consider Touko's offer in her place if she was still in high-school, "But, I think I'll pass."

Natsume got up from the couch as soon as Y/N and Touko finished their conversation, beginning to walk towards the foreign boy, "I think there is one more thing we need to adress here."

"What is it?" Y/N wanted to know as Natsume stopped in front of him.

Much to Y/N's bewilderment, Natsume bowed her head in front of him in an apologetic manner, "I'd like to apologize on our behalf for what happened to you after our city was bombed. You not being transported to a safe place alongside the other common civilians was a huge mistake on our part that should have never happenned."

Y/N said as he raised his hands in the air, slightly taken aback by her sudden apology, "You don't need to apologize me about it. What happened, already happened. Nothing we will do now will change it."

"It doesn't change the fact a mistake this huge shouldn't have never happened." Natsume pointed out as she lifted her head up, her eyes set on the foreigner, "We will do our best to stop it from happening again the next time such situation will occur."

"What will you do now, Y/N?" Kazane asked Y/N a few seconds after Natsume voiced her apology to him. The first impression Y/N had made of them may have been away from a bad one, but he still wasn't associated with either of the Witch factions which was the matter she had to take care of.

Y/N looked at Kazane and answered to her question with a question of his own, "Are you the ones who restored the city?"

Kazane nodded in confirmation, "Yes."

"Then, let me join the Workshop." Y/N made his choice to join the Workshop. They protected the city for he didn't even knew how many unpleasant incidents like the bombings. It was the least he could do in return. He turned to look at Grimoire Guthrum and asked him, "Are you fine with it, Guthrum?"

"My allegiance lies within neither of the Witch factions, lad." Grimoire Guthrum explained his neutrality to the Witch factions to Y/N as he didn't told him about it before, "I'm merely following my user, no matter of the Witch faction they belong to. If you want to join the Workshop, then I won't do anything to change your choice."

Y/N turned to look at Kazane again, bowing his head slightly to her, "You heard him. He has no problem with it. I would like to join your Workshop, if you don't have any problem with it, of course."

Kazane had a slight smile on her face as she stared at the bowing boy, gladdened to see him willing to join the Workshop. Honoka and Touko smiled as well, gladdened to see how well this entire thing turned out.

"I don't see any problem with it." She responded to his words as Y/N looked up at her, Grimoire Guthrum floating above his shoulder, "With this matter settled, Y/N, welcome to the Workshop."

------

Phew, this chapter is finally done! This chapter turned out to be way longer than I excepted, considering it would me mostly focused on dialogues...

With this chapter out, you can say that the first act of this story is done, Y/N is not keeping Grimoire Guthrum a secret anymore and has officially joined the Workshop.
