The Grimoire User and The Cat Eared Tower Witch
Y/N glanced down at the area below him as he traveled through the city on his broom. He and Guthrum had been on their way to his home after another training session. It had been three days since Honoka and Ayaka were ambushed by Tanpopo's friends and he ended up getting himself involved in this situation, resulting in him having his very first time when he had to against another magic user.
Nothing much happened for these past three days. He only got called to Kazane's office along with Honoka, Ayaka and Touko the day after the ambush in order to talk about her events the ambush. The talk didn't last much, though, because Natsume had already taken care of everything the previous day. Tanpopo's friends didn't try their luck again, the four of them continuing to be absent at school and he didn't have any unpleasant encounters with the Tower Witches.
He couldn't say anything bad about the training session that he was returning from right now. Casting Dark Blast wasn't as much an issue to him right now, at least not as much as it was for him back when he started to learn this spell from Guthrum. He now didn't had to worry about having problems with casting during an emergency as he was now capable of casting it the moment he will point his cane at his target and wish for this spell to be cast.
"There isn't much I can say about todays training, lad." Grimoire Guthrum's voice rang through his ears as the two of them were in the middle of the conversation regarding the training session that had recently come to an end, "You're continuing to improve your skills in a steady manner and if you will continue this pace you will be able of casting a few projectiles of Dark Blast after each other which will be the point where you'll be ready to start learning Dark Hand. Don't except us to abandon your Dark Blast training as soon as you will reach this point, though. You will continue to learn it alongside Dark Hand until you will master it to the best of your abilities."
"I know." Y/N nodded his head to that, "You always brought up the word "Mastering" whenever you brought up my training to either myself or someone else and if I'm honest, you don't seem like the type of a person that would abandon something without mastering you to their meaning of perfection."
"Glad to hear we understand each other on this point." Grimoire Guthrum responded, gladdened to hear that his user viewed him this way.
"It would be hard for me not too at this point to be honest, even without you bringing up this mastering thing." Y/N admitted, "Spending a lot of my free time around you ever since I found you made sure of that."
"Does this mean you came to understand how important my existance is and will refer to me with the respect I deserve?" Grimoire Guthrum questioned, even though he already knew what kind of answer he will get from him.
"Nope." Y/N answered, "Nothing will stop me from calling you Guthrum anytime soon."
Grimoire Guthrum sighed, "Why did I even bothered asking you about this? I saw this answer coming a mile away."
"I don't know." Y/N shrugged, "How should I know the answer to it if you don't know it yourself?"
"I was just thinking out loud, lad." Grimoire Guthrum pointed out what he considered to be quite obvious, a hint of irritation in his voice, "This question was not directed to you."
"I know." Y/N said, much to Guthrum's annoyance as the floating book let out an irritated sigh. The two of them stayed in a comfortable silence for a minute or two, before Y/N broke it by calling out for the floating book, "Hey, Guthrum."
"What is it?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know what his user wanted from him.
"I haven't you about this in a few days now." Y/N began, his words making Guthrum assume what he was going to ask him now, "How is your memory? Did you remembered something or is your mind still as blank as it used to be back when we first met?"
Grimoire Guthrum remained silent for a few seconds, his assumptions regarding what his user was going to ask him turning out to be true. If he was honest with himself, his memory was no any better than it was back when he awoke from his slumber. It was still filled with many blanks which he couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times he tried to remind himself of his past.
"...I wish I could say that I have, but unfortunely my memory is as blank as it was back when we encountered each other." He answered after staying unresponsive for a few seconds, "Everytime when I try to remember who this Anders Bardal was other than my previous user, blank space is all I am receiving in response."
Y/N nodded in understanding, "I see. Nothing changed in this matter, then. Perharps the chairwoman will find a spell that will bring back you memory."
"Maybe she will find something." Grimoire Guthrum said, "Or maybe her attempts will end up the same as her attempts at waking me up and my mind will remain as blank of my memories as it is now."
"You know, we might start to look for a way how to bring your memories back ourselves if the chairwoman will have difficulties with finding the right spell for you." Y/N suggested. If he was honest with himself, he couldn't blame Kazane for having difficulties with this, considering that she didn't even had a point to start her searching for the right spell and had to look through every possible spell.
"And how do wish you accomplish it if a powerful Witch like your chairwoman won't be capable of doing it?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know.
"I don't know, yet," Y/N gave him a honest answer, "I'm sure we will figure something out sooner or later and perharps a lead will come to yourself when we won't except it."
"If you say so, lad." Grimoire Guthrum responded.
The two of them spent the rest of the way to Y/N's home talking with each other about various subjects, like they did everytime when they were coming back from Y/N's training session, starting with the discussion of the episodes of Attack on Titan that Guthrum watched today when Y/N was in school and ending with discussing ideas on how Y/N could improve more on his training sessions.
Upon arriving at the area of his house, Y/N got himself off his broom and began making his way towards the door to his house, his broom disappearing as he did so. It wasn't long until something stuck to the door of his house with a duct tape caught Y/N's attention as he proceeded to make his way towards it. He realized what it was a second later. It was a piece of paper.
"...What is it?" Y/N asked himself in confusion as he reached his right hand out and grabbed the paper, reading what was written on it.
Come to the nearby empty lot. ASAP
"...At least this person, whoever they are went straight to the point." Y/N thought to himself after reading the short message on the paper.
"Is this a letter?" Grimoire Guthrum asked, looking over Y/N's shoulder at the paper his user was holding right now. He spoke to his user again after reading the short message, "...Is this message from one of your neighbours or one of the Workshop Witches that visited you last week?"
"I see no reason why someone I know would leave me a message on my door." Y/N stated, eyeing the message for another time, "I exchanged numbers everyone in case of an emergency back when they paid us a visit."
"Then, If I'm not mistaken, this letter is from nobody we know." Grimoire Guthrum stated.
"Seems like it." Y/N nodded his head in agreement, starting to turn away from the door to his house towards the direction of the empty lot brought up in the letter, "Only one way to find out who left it here."
"You know you don't have to go there, right?" Grimoire Guthrum asked as he spun around to look at his user, "
"I'm aware of that." Y/N admitted, "I'm still going to go, though. If this was an ambush, then we would most likely already get jumped on my someone at this point and If they wanted to ambush me, then I don't think they would leave a letter, telling me to go to a certain place."
"...I see your point, lad." Grimoire Guthrum moved up and down after a second of giving this a quick thought, "After giving it some thought I came to the same conclusion. If I wanted to ambush someone, then I would definitely leave the element of suprise in my plan. Getting rid of it would just be foolish thing of me to do."
Y/N turned in the direction of the empty lot and was about to start making his way to it, "Let's go, then."
"Wait a minute, lad." Grimoire Guthrum's words made Y/N stop dead in his tracks.
Y/N stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at Guthrum again, "Yes?"
Grimoire Guthrum said nothing for a brief moment. Y/N was about to ask him again what did he wanted but got the answer to his question before he got the chance to do so. It was when a red shield appeared in front of him, followed by Guthrum giving him an explanation to why, "We shall be ready in case if this will turn out to be an ambush, after all."
Y/N eyed the red shield in front of him, recognizing it as Dark Wall, before looking at Guthrum, "What about you? You're not going to get yourself one?"
"There's no need for me to cover myself with it." Grimoire Guthrum assured him, "I'm capable of handling myself against an opponent without one."
"If you say so." Y/N answered as he took his eyes off the shield in front of him, trusting Guthrum on this.
Y/N twisted his hand, making his broom appear in his grasp. He and Guthrum them took off into air and began making their way to the empty lot brought up in the letter shorty after. It didn't took them long to make their way to their destination was not too far from Y/N's house. Y/N landed on the ground in the middle of the empty lot and got himself off his broom, his broom disappearing from his grasp shorty after.
The empty lot he had just arrived at was placed between the houses from his neighbourhood. It was quite easy for Y/N to say how rarely people set a foot on this place, considering the state it was in. There was hardly any greenery there. It had a massive spot where there was no grass at all, showing off the ground which would normally be covered by it. In fact, this area without any grass covered most of this lot. Only a few small spots in this lot were covered by grass.
"Is someone in here!?" He screamed, eyeing his surroundings in order to spot the person who left this letter on his door. He looked up at Guthrum after a moment after realizing that there was not a single person in his view, "I can't see anything or anyone. What about you Guthrum?"
"I cannot say that my observations regarding this place are different." Grimoire Guthrum answered, "I can't spot any other living human being in this place instead of you."
Y/N nodded his head at him before calling out for someone for one last time, "Hello! Is someone in here?"
He and Guthrum waited for someone to respond to his calling for a moment, but received nothing in response.
"Looks like we're the only ones in here." Y/N stated, breaking the silence that formed on the empty loot as he rubbed the back of his head, "Then why would someone ask me to come here in the first place?"
"Perharps you ended up going to the wrong place of the meeting." Grimoire Guthrum suggested.
"No." Y/N shook his head, "This is the only empty lot in the neighbourhood."
"Perharps this letter was something you call..." Grimoire Guthrum paused for a brief moment, "What was it called again? The thing that your cousin likes to do on other people."
"A prank?" Y/N replied in a questioning tone, wanting to know if it was the thing that Guthrum tried to refer to, but couldn't find the right word to call it.
"Exactly." Grimoire Guthrum said, "Perharps whoever left it wanted you to come here for their own personal amusement. I can't say that this option is likely, though because I see no reason why they would do this."
Y/N nodded his head at him, before eyeing the empty lot for one more time. After that, he spoke to Guthrum again, changing the subject of their conversation a bit, "You know, Guthrum when I was trying to come up with a place where we could do my training, this empty lot was the first place that flew through my mind."
"Really?" Grimoire Guthrum asked.
"Yeah." Y/N nodded in confirmation, "But I backed out of this idea pretty quickly because, you know. I don't think I even have to explain why."
"You don't need to explain it to me. I can see why you would choose the abandoned warehouse over this place. It would leave us out in the open for every passing Witch to see from above and you wanted to remain hidden back then. Perharps we might use this place for your training sometime in the future, now that it is know that you're my current user."
"I'm sure we'll figure something out sooner or later." Y/N said and went back to the old subject of their conversation, "You were right, though. We shouldn't have come here."
"Of course I was right." Grimoire Guthrum said, "Point out a situation where I was not right about something."
Y/N rolled his eyes and began to turn in the direction of his house, "Let's go home."
"Hey!" A familiar female crying out for him filled his ears. He turned to the source of the voice and saw Tanpopo standing in front of him, pointing her finger at him. The dark blonde had her robe on herself. A small army consisting of at least dozen of mechanical rabbits was standing behind her, "Grimoire User!"
"Tanpopo?" Y/N asked, suprised by the person who turned out to be behind this letter, "What do you want? Are you the one who left that letter on my door?"
"There's only reason why I called you out here today!" Tanpopo answered, confirming Y/N's suspicions about her being the one behind the letter as Y/N glanced at her other hand, noticing at least a dozen of small paper rabbits in her grasp, "It's time for someone to put you in your place! You might have managed to get out of going against my friends without any receiving any beating in the process but mark my words! Today, you'll be begging for mercy on your hands and knees!"
"Hmm." Grimoire Guthrum hummed, staring at the girl ahead of him and his user, pretending like he hadn't just seen how one of those rabbits offered him a friendly wave from the distance, "It seems like we now know the reason why we were called out here today."
"What should I do, Guthrum?" Y/N asked, "Should I accept her offer and just go home? I remember your words about going against another magic user at the stage of training whem I am still masting Dark Blast and this isn't like the situation from a few days ago."
"What are you talking about!?" Tanpopo screamed from her spot, baffled by the two of them having a conversation with each other right now, "This isn't a offer you can refuse! This is a serious challenge to a fight! Now get ready if you don't want your butt kicked in nya instant!"
"You can accept her offer if you want to." Grimoire Guthrum replied to Y/N's question, ignoring whatever Tanpopo just said to his user, "There's nothing you should worry about if you choose this option because I am here. We saw how one of your neighbours dealt with her and friends in seconds, without having to use magic. The Tower Witch in front of us will be nothing but a mere fly standing in my way."
"Don't you look down on me like I am nothing!" Tanpopo shouted as she glared at Guthrum angrily after she heard him refer to her being a mere fly in his way, already sick of being looked down on after her frequent fights with the Fire Witch. The mention of one of her many defeats by the hands of the Fire Witch didn't help her calm down, "I don't know what you've been told about me but I assure you that none of this is true! You will soon be asking him to take you to his home out of fear!"
"Okay." Y/N nodded at Grimoire Guthrum and shifted his gaze from the floating book to Tanpopo, "I accept your challenge!"
"I already told you it isn't a challenge you can just refuse!" Tanpopo pointed this thing out for another time, "This is a serious call to a fight and I would have attacked you anyway even if you wouldn't accept it!"
"Take a step back, lad." Grimoire Guthrum told his user, "I shall demostrate to you how one of my spells work when it is used on someone else in a fight."
"Should I know which one you are planning to use on her?" Y/N questioned, doing as he was instructed as he grew curious to see one of Grimoire Guthrum's spell in action against another magic user.
"No." Grimoire Guthrum responded, "If you paid attention to my explanation of how my spells work like, then you should instantly recognize the spell."
"Okay." Y/N responded with a nod of his head to show his understanding of Guthrum's words to him.
"Make sure to keep your eyes focused on the fight." Grimoire Guthrum added, "Think of it as part of your training."
Y/N nodded his head for another time, "Got it."
"It's the time for action!" Tanpopo shouted when the Y/N and Guthrum finished their conversation and looked over shoulder at the mechanical rabbits standing behind her, sounding like a commander in battle, "Let's go guys!"
The army of mechanical rabbits raised their spears up and battle cry, "USA!"
Her screamed a battle cry of her own and charged into battle, her army following her. Y/N and Grimoire Guthrum didn't do anything about it and remained where they stood. The latter of the two remained in front of his user, calmly floating as if nothing was happening, waiting for the right moment to strike. Y/N remained where he stood, without backing away from the upcoming fight between Guthrum and Tanpopo as he trusted Guthrum well enough to keep him from harm during this fight.
The fight between Grimoire Guthrum against Tanpopo Kuraishi and her familiars lasted a grand of a few seconds. Y/N didn't even know if he could call it a fight because it ended before it properly started. Tanpopo and her army of mechanical rabbits didn't stood a chance against Grimoire Guthrum. They got defeated the moment they got close to to him and the floating book next to him.
It was when Grimoire Guthrum casted a spell which Y/N immediately recognized as Dark Execution. In the blink of an eye, a lot of of magical spears shot up from the ground, taking Tanpopo and her army aback, not giving them even a second to react. It was just a matter of seconds before the entire area in front of Y/N and Guthrum which was empty several seconds earler was engulfed in magical spears protruding from the ground.
Tanpopo found herself in the centre of the magical spears as she was lifted up above the ground by them, her eyes set on the ground below her. She tried to free herself from the prison she just found herself in and continue the fight, but was unable to. There was simply no way out this place. Those spears which appeared out of thin air were preventing her from doing anything. The way they were placed between her all of her limbs was just so precise and tactical as if Grimoire Guthrum was just waiting for her to get closer so he could just use it to freeze her in spot.
She glanced over her shoulders and saw all of her rabbits in the same position, all of them panicking as they desperately tried to free themselves from their prison, without any effects. She moved her limbs one last time in an attempt to free herself from her prison, but it was proven to be no use. Nothing she could think of right now would free her from this. Perharps it would be easier if her friends were with her right now.
"...I hope there's no need of reminding you what spell it was, lad." Grimoire Guthrum spoke a few seconds after the fight between him and Tanpopo ended in a serious tone, hoping that his user remembered what spell it was, because otherwise he will have give him a long lecture about hin being irresponsible.
"There's no need to." Y/N replied, knowing what he would get himself into if he didn't remember it. Needless to say, he didn't want to get through Guthrum's lecture, "It was, without a doubt, Dark Execution. I recognized it as soon as I saw the spears pop out of the ground. It would be foolish of me to forgot the name of your spells and how they work like, considering that I will be learning them in the future."
Grimoire Guthrum moved up and down, "It's good to hear that you understand how foolish it would be of you to forget about it."
"The knowledge of knowing of what I would get myself into if I didn't know the answer correctly was enough of a motivation for me to never forget about this stuff." Y/N said as he gestured to the spears keeping Tanpopo and her mechanical rabbits trapped, "Could you make those spears disappear. I don't think there a reason for them to be there anymore, considering your fight with her just ended."
"It shall be done." Grimoire Guthrum replied. In the blink of an eye, all the spears of Dark Execution disappeared, freeing Tanpopo. The cat eared girl collapsed on the ground, her face facing the dirt, "What do you think about seeing myself in a battle? Was the view of myself fighting someone enough to knock you off your feet?"
Y/N gave Guthrum an amused smile, "It was pretty good, considering that it was your first fight against someone since your awakening."
"Pretty good?" Grimoire Guthrum repeated how Y/N rated the fight between him and Tanpopo, "Out of everything you could have choose to describe this you choose "pretty good"? You didn't mean to tell me that it showed to you only a small fraction of my power and you're wondering how powerful I really am?"
"If you say so, Guthrum." Y/N's amused smile was not leaving his face as he spoke again, "It was actually quite nice to see Dark Execution in action against someone else for the first time. You know, I don't think I ever told you this, but it is actually the spell I'm looking forward the most in learning from you."
"I don't believe you told me about this before." Grimoire Guthrum told him in response, "Don't get your hopes up about it after the spell you will learn after Dark Hand, though. We still are a while until you will reach the point of your training where I will teach you this..."
As the two of them continued to talk with each other, Tanpopo began gathering herself after the lost fight and slightly rose up from the ground, getting herself on her fours. She wiped the dirt off her lips before punching the ground with an angered look on her face, feeling only one thing going through her veins. Frustation. She gritted her teeth in frustation, knowing what had just happened. She lost
She had lost again. She once again got her butt kicked by her opponent before she even got the chance to get close to them. She didn't even lost to the Fire Witch this time. In fact, It was even worse this time than all her previous loses, because this time she had lost to someone who didn't even have that much experience with magic, because they just recently started their training in this area.
She brought herself out of her frustated thoughts regarding her losing against the current user of Grimoire Guthrun when she heard someone approach her from the front and stop in front of her. She looked up at the person and saw Y/N holding his hand out to her, Grimoire Guthrum floating above his shoulder.
"Need help getting up?" The current user of Grimoire Guthrum asked her if she needed help getting up.
Tanpopo looked suprised by him offering his hand to her. Why would he offer her his hand? Didn't she just attack him? She stared at him for a brief moment before reaching out and grabbing his hand, allowing him to bring her back on her feet. She might have been angered by her losing, but she was not going to show to act a sore loser. At least he wasn't treating her like a fool so far, like the Fire Witch did, but that could change any second.
"Nice try." Y/N said after getting Tanpopo back on her feet, suprising the cat eared girl who was now standing behind him.
"What are you talking nyabout?" Tanpopo asked him, confused by his words, not knowing if this was genuine or not. She was leaning more towards the latter, "I lost in seconds to you, someone who started to learn magic when? Two weeks ago? What is it to be proud about?!"
"To be honest you didn't lose to me but lost to Guthrum. I just stood in the background and watched him to his job." Y/N pointed out, ignoring Guthrum pointing out that it was presentation of his extraordinary skills, "If it was just me, you'd probably kick my ass, because I still have to learn a lot if I want to stand a chance against my opponents."
Tanpopo looked at him, still not knowing if what he was saying to her was genuine or if he was trying to mess with her in some way. She looked at his face, trying to figure out if it was really genuine. If he she was honest with herself, she didn't saw any other intent in his face. What he was saying to her was really genuine.
She turned her gaze away from him and glanced to the side, "It really wasn't a nice try in my book, but, thanks, I guess."
It was when a sudden wave of pain went through her body, making the cat eared girl cringe at the unpleasant feeling. She glanced down at the source of this sudden feeling which was her right hand and saw a cut on it, a small trail of blood leaking out of it, staining the area around the wound in the red liquid.
Her reaction to spotting her wound was instant. She clutched the cut on her hand with her other one which thankfully was in a perfectly good state, "...Dammit."
"What is it?" Y/N asked, confused by her sudden action.
"This." Tanpopo removed her hand from her wounded one, showing off the cut to him, "One of those spears must have cut me after they shot up out of nowhere."
"Or you could have hurt yourself when you tried to leave the prison I formed around you." Grimoire Guthrum pointed out, "You could have you just stayed in place and you wouldn't have to deal with this right now?"
"What else was I supposed to do in the place you put me in!?" Tanpopo shifted her gaze from Y/N to Guthrum, "I wouldn't give up on this fight without trying to free myself from it at first!"
"I'm merely pointing this out." Grimoire Guthrum pointed out, making Tanpopo glare at him and open her mouth to respond to his words.
"You should get this patched up as soon as you can." Y/N stated before Tanpopo could respond to what Grimoire Guthrum just said to her, stopping the two of them from breaking into an argument, looking at the cut on Tanpopo's hand, "You don't want this to get infected."
Tanpopo shifted her gaze back to Y/N and nodded her head at him, "I know."
"We can go to my place to patch this up." Y/N offered.
Tanpopo didn't try to hide how the foreigner's offer suprised her, "Huh?"
"We can go to my place to patch this up." Y/N repeated this offer, "My medkit should have everything you need to treat a wound like this, because to be honest I can't remember the last time when I had to use it."
"What about your parents?" Tanpopo questioned, still suprised by him making this offer, "What will you tell them about my cut if they will see it?"
"It won't be much a problem because my parents aren't home right now and they won't be home anytime soon." Y/N explained, "I have my house for myself for most of the time. Why do you think I'm able to live with a floating book in my house without any problems."
"It's not like there would be any problems with keeping me hidden from your parents." Grimoire Guthrum stated, "Because I would be not visible to them as I am not visible to every normal citizen, unless you will wish for one to see me."
"I know." Y/N looked up at Guthrum and nodded his head at him, "But it still would be weird for them to see me talking to myself. They would most likely thing that I started to lose my mind." He looked back at Tanpopo, "So? Are we going to my house or will you find some other place to patch yourself?"
Tanpopo was silent for a few seconds, debating with herself if she should go because his offer still was kind of suprising to her, before nodding her head at him, ultimately deciding to go along with it, "Fine. Let's go." She glanced over her shoulder, looking at the only remaining rabbit behind her, "Let's go Pierre."
Pierre nodded his head at his mistress, "Usa."
Y/N blinked a few times after glancing at the area over Tanpopo's shoulder, suprised to see only one rabbit standing behind her. Weren't there at least several more of them behind her just a few seconds ago? What happened to them? Did they just vanished into thin air or did they turned into the paper rabbit that he saw Tanpopo holding shorty before the fight between her and Guthrum started.
He decided to save this question for another time, making sure to keep it in mind for the time when he'll get the opportunity to ask her about it as he, Tanpopo, Guthrum and Pierre made their way out of the empty lot, beginning to head towards his home. The road to Y/N's home didn't took them much. It took them a bit longer to get to his house from the empty lot than it took Y/N and Guthrum to get from there to the empty lot, because this time they were walking instead of flying on their brooms.
As they found themselves standing in front of the door to Y/N's house, Y/N pulled his keys out of his pocket and used them to unlock the door. He put his keys back in his pocket and opened the door to hise house. He waited for everyone to enter his house, before entering it himself, making sure to close the door behind him after doing so. He turned away from the door after closing it and reached down, before taking off his shoes.
He placed his shoes next to Tanpopo's shoes and looked up at Guthrum who was floating close to the entrance to the living room, "Guthrum, me and Tanpopo will go to get her hand patched up. You and your friend do whatever you want."
"What is that supposed to mean?! He's not my friend!" Grimoire Guthrum denied, earning an amused laugh from Pierre as Y/N smiled at him, "I, Grimoire Guthrum deserve to be friends with something more than just a mere familiar!"
"If you say so." Y/N shook his head in an amused manner as Grimoire Guthrum floated into the living room, followed by Pierre, "I'll be in my room if you will need something."
Y/N and Tanpopo turned away from Guthrum and Pierre and began making their way up the stairs to the upper floor of the L/N household. Pierre waited for a brief moment until his mistress and the user of Grimoire Guthrum will be in a safe distance away from them.
He looked up at Guthrum after a moment and spoke up to him in a questioning tone, "Usa?"
"Yes." Grimoire Guthrum responded, "You should go and bring him here. I don't want to deal with him complaing about us excluding him from watching the battle for Wall Maria."
Pierre nodded his head and turned away from Guthrum. He walked out of the living room and made his way out of the house, beginning to make his way towards the Takamiya household, with the intention of bringing Macaron to the L/N household where the two of them along with Guthrum will watch another episode of the show they were watching right now.
As the mechanical rabbit walked out of the house, his mistress made her way to the upper floor of Y/N's house and looked at the doors ahead of her, wondering which one belonged to Y/N, "Which one is your room?"
"It's the one on the left at the end of the hallway." Y/N pointed at his room to make sure she will get the right one, "Go there. I'll be back in a second with a medkit."
Tanpopo nodded her head. She and Y/N parted ways right after. She went into his room and Y/N went into his room to get the medkit. Y/N walked into the bathroom and opened the drawer where the medkit should be. He didn't remember moving it somewhere else. He nodded his head to himself upon setting her eyes on the medkit, gladdened to see it where it's supposed to be, because he wouldn't have to search for it.
He grabbed the medkit and took it out from the drawer. He closed the drawer, before walking out of the bathroom. He made his way to his room and the first thing he noticed after walking into through the opened entrance to it was Tanpopo who was sitting on his bed, waiting for him to arrive with the medkit.
"I have the medkit." He said after entering the room as Tanpopo looked at him, "Will you do it yourself or should I do this?'
"It's just a simple cut." Tanpopo replied, "I can patch this up myself."
"Okay." Y/N replied, putting the medkit on his bed right next to her, "Just asking."
Y/N sat down next to her, with the medkit between being the two of them. Tanpopo glanced down at the medkit and opened it. She eyed what was inside it, wanting to know if it had everything she needed to patch herself up. It thankfully had. She wasted on time in pulling out everything she needed to patch up her wound from the medkit. She placed most of the things on her knees, except for the bottle with disinfectant liquid which she had placed next to her, not wanting to risk dropping it onto the floor.
Y/N put his hand on his chin, "To be honest, now that I think about it, can a cut done by a magical spear sticking out of the ground because of some floating book can get infected?"
"I don't know. Never got cut by one before." Tanpopo answered as she eyed the things she pulled out from the medkit, making sure that she had everything. She will have to ask Kotetsu if such a wound needed disinfecting the next time she will see her, which she hoped would be soon, "But I nyain't going to take the risk."
"Smart choice." Y/N agreed with a nod of his head as Tanpopo pulled out a few cotton pads, intending to pour the disinfectant liquid on them, "I would probably do the same If I ended up getting cutting myself with one." Tanpopo nodded her head at him and glanced to the side at the disinfectant bottle next to her, "Do you need to do this often?
"From time to time. Sometimes I or one of my friends end up cutting ourselves or bruising ourselves during our training or after a fight with someone. It's mostly is the latter." Tanpopo explained as she picked up the disinfectant bottle and opened it. She lifted it up and poured a bit of it onto the cotton pad, making sure to not pour more than she needed, "What about you?"
"To be honest I don't have the need to patch myself up so often." Y/N replied, "It used to happen a bit more often when I was younger but back then someone else was patching me up after I for example ended up cutting myself with a knife when I was cutting something with it."
"Who was it?" Tanpopo asked, "Your mom or your dad?"
"Neither of them. It was my sister." Y/N explained, "Everytime when she was patching me or herself up, she would show me how to do this just in case if I ended up wounding myself in some way and she wouldn't be around to patch this up."
"You have a sister?" Tanpopo was suprised by him having a sister because she never saw anyone else coming out of his house in the morning after she started living in the Takamiya household. Now that she thought about it, she recalled Kasumi mentioning something about Y/N's sister when she was making her way to the door to Kasumi's room in order to eavesdrop the conversation between Y/N and Kasumi.
Y/N nodded in confirmation, "I do. An older one to be exact. Her name is Claire."
"Where is she nyaow?" Tanpopo wanted to know where Claire was right now, wanting to know if she should hurry up with this thing.
"Don't worry. She won't walk on us dealing with this stuff. She's out in the college. She won't be back until summer break." Y/N replied, "She's studying to be a doctor and her patching me up whenever I would wound myself was like a practice before this for her."
Tanpopo nodded in understanding. It was when she noticed something standing on top of the furniture next to Y/N's bed. It was a picture of him and his sister. She turned towards it and took a good look at it. The two were dressed like they came from the medieval times. They looked like knight who were readying themselves for battle, with their blades raised in the air. The only notable difference in their clothes that she could spot was a crown that Claire wore over her head. The other thing she noticed was Y/N's hair. It was longer than it was right now. It was reaching his shoulders back when this photo was taken.
"I had a longer hair back then." Y/N explained as he knew at what Tanpopo was staring at on this picture, making Tanpopo turn back to him, "I cut it shorter shorty after this photo was taken."
"Why?" Tanpopo asked as she touched her wound with the cotton pad, cringing at the feeling of disinfectant liquid touching her wound.
"I felt like I need a change of hairstyle after keeping my hairstyle that way for as long as I did." Y/N responded as Tanpopo pulled the cotton pad away from her hand and put it aside, no longer having the need to use it, "Plus, I simply got tired of it getting into my eyes every once in a while."
"This is something I can agree on." Tanpopo nodded in agreement, gesturing to her short hair, "It's the reason why I like to keep my hair short." It was when Y/N let out a quick laugh, his sudden action confusing her, "What are you laughing at?"
"Nothing." Y/N replied, "I just remembered how Claire reacted after I came back home with a shorter hair, because I didn't told her that I'm going to get my hair cut shorter, because I wanted to see her reaction to it. Her reaction made my day to say the least."
Tanpopo nodded her head in understanding before picking up the last thing she needed to use in patching her hand up. It was a box of band-aids that were suited for those kind of wounds. She opened the box and pulled out a single white band-ait from it. She carefully put the band-aid on her wound, making sure to not mess this part up otherwise she'd have to pull out another band-aid from the box.
After putting the band-aid on her wound, she put everything she used to patch up her cut back in the medkit, before closing it down. She put the medkit aside, no longer having the need to use it and glanced down at her patched up cut, wanting to make sure if there was nothing wrong with the dressing for one last time.
"...All done." She turned her gaze from her now patched up hand back to Y/N after a few seconds of eyeing her patched up cut, feeling like there was one thing she had to say to him, "Thanks for helping nyaout. You didn't have to make this offer to allow me to use your medkit to patch my cut."
"You don't need to thank me. It was nothing." Y/N waved it off like nothing "I just saw the wound on your hand and offered to take you somewhere where you would be able to patch yourself up. This is how my sister raised me. I wouldn't be able to face her dissappointed look if she would find out about this."
"Your sister?" Tanpopo repeated him, thinking he said something wrong, "Don't you mean your parents?"
Y/N's eyes slightly widened upon realization of what he had just said. He quickly responded to Tanpopo, not wanting to say more about this matter, "Forget what I just said."
Tanpopo raised her brow, growing more curious than confused about it after hearing Y/N's quick attempt at pushing the topic aside, but didn't press it further. It would probably be better if she didn't. It was when Y/N's room was engulfed in an awkward silence. Tanpopo turned away from Y/N and looked around his room, hoping to find a reason to break this awkward silence. She found one a few seconds later. Her eyes widened upon spotting a certain item in the corner of Y/N's room.
"...Wait a second." She said when she noticed the familiar thing that she and her friends often used when they were hanging out in the corner of his room, "You have a karaoke equipment?"
Y/N nodded in confirmation, turning to look at the old thing in the corner of his room, "Yes."
"You're into karaoke?" Tanpopo asked, looking to be quite interested in it.
"It depends on how you view being into it." Y/N gave her a honest answer, "My sister bought it for herself when she was younger. She was making me sing with her from time to time as a form of sibling bonding. I lost the count of how many times she made me sing Carry On Wayward Son with her."
"Why this song?" Tanpopo wanted to know why Y/N's sister would choose this song to sing so many times.
"This song means a lot to her, because she's a long time fan of Supernatural." Y/N explained, "This song always played in the recap of the events of each season. She was singing along it everytime when it played. To be honest I can imagine her tearing up and singing along when this song played in the finale of the show last year or in one of the last few episodes when a certain scene between two characters happened."
Tanpopo hummed in understanding, hearing enough to understand how big of a fan Y/N sister must have been of this show, "You weren't kidding when you said she was a fan of the show."
"You have no idea." Y/N shook his head, recalling a certain memory related to his sister and her obsession with this show, "After the finale of season 14 premiered, she played God Was Never on Your Side by Motorhead in her room on loop for days. Normally I wouldn't complain about it because I admit the song is pretty good but afterwards I couldn't get it out of my head for a long time. I could hear it in my head for about a week everytime when I close my eyes. It made falling asleep harder. I don't even want to talk about the crush she had on Dean Winchester, one of the main characters, once she discovered this show. Thankfully, she had gotten over it a few years ago."
"At least you have something to bring up if you want to mess with her." Tanpopo pointed out, referring the part where Y/N mentioned his sister having a crush on a character from this show a few years ago.
"Ha, I wish." Y/N laughed, "Everytime when I try to tease her about it, she just admits openly to it with a smile on her face. She just can't get flustered no matter what embarassing thing she once did I mention to her." He shook his head at this thoughts. If it was only just as hard to get him flustered as her, "Why are you so interested in this thing, anyway?"
"Me and my friends often go to a karaoke bar to hang out." Tanpopo explained to him why she was interested in this thing, "It's actually one of our favourite places to hang out."
"I see." Y/N nodded in understanding, "To be honest, I'm not even sure if it's working because it was so long after I tried to turn it on." His tone became completely serious as he continued to speak, "I considered selling it at one point, because it just stands here, gathering dust, but my sister would definitely kill me after she would find out that I sold the subject of the many fond memories of hers."
Tanpopo laughed at how serious Y/N's tone became was when he spoke about his sister killing him, "You canyaot be serious. I'm sure she would be mad at you if you sold this but to the point of killing you?"
Y/N pointed at his utterly serious face, "Do I look like I'm joking?"
The serious look on his face made Tanpopo laugh again as Y/N shook his head at her, figuring out that there was nothing that would convince her that what he was saying was truth, other than selling his karaoke equipment, which he was not going to do.
"Laugh all you want but I will stick to what I'm saying. She would definitely kill me if I sold it." Y/N said, "If I got lucky and she would end up sparing me, she would end up selling one my things in revenge, like my SCP poster or one my favourite video games."
Tanpopo finally stopped laughing and responded to Y/N's words in a questioning manner, "SCP? Those scarnya stories about monsters from the internet?"
"SCP are anomalies, but you're not wrong about the rest." Y/N confirmed, making sure to correct Tanpopo about the thing she got wrong, "You know about them?"
"I heard about them on the internet, but was not interested inya checking them out because I'm not into this sort of thing." Tanpopo explained and asked a question of her own, "What is so interesting about them in the first place?"
"They're very creative." Y/N gave a reason to why he was such a big fan of SCP, "People who come up with them have such a great and creative ideas how to make normal everyday items and places feel mysterious or sometimes even dangerous when it comes to the more dangerous SCP's. The mysteries surrounding them, like how certain SCP's were created in the first place or the places they came from is one of the things which are keeping me interested in learning more about it. To be honest I am convinced they can make an SCP out of anything."
"Out of anything?" Tanpopo said, looking to be quite doubtful about it, "You can't be serious. The next thing you will tell me is that someone made one out of some store."
"Actually there is one I can think of. It is actually one of the most known ones." Y/N responded, a certain IKEA related SCP flying through his mind, "SCP-3008 otherwise known as an Infinite IKEA."
"...Okay." Tanpopo replied after a few second pause, suprised by something like that existing, "How about a plain looking teddy bear?"
"SCP-1048 otherwise known the Builder Bear." Y/N immediately answered, "It's actually quite dangerous SCP, despise it only being a teddy bear, because it was labelled a keter class object. Keter class SCPs are anomalies that are exceedingly difficult to contain consistently or reliably, with containment procedures often being extensive and complex."
Tanpopo blinked at the definition of this "Keter" thing she had just gotten from him and glanced at the medkit between them. It was when she got another idea, "A medication?"
"SCP-500." Y/N once again gave her an instant answer, "A pillbox which contains the pills that when consumed can cure any and all diseases infecting the user."
"A rabbit?"
"SCP-524 otherwise known as Walter the omnivorous rabbit."
"A pool?"
"SCP-354 otherwise known The Red Pool."
"...A monkey toy? You know the mechanical one?"
"SCP-983 also known The Birthday Monkey."
"...Dammit." Tanpopo whispered to herself, realizing that she was starting to run out of the ideas. Thankfully another idea popped into her mind shorty after. She smiled smugly internally, because there was no way someone would make this SCP out of such a thing, "How about a machine where you can buy yourself a drink. You know, the vending machines that you can often see when you're out in the town."
She looked at Y/N as soon as those words left her mouth, feeling pretty smug about herself because she thought that she had him there and that there was no way such SCP existed. The truth was completely different, though. The look that Y/N gave her upon mentioning such a thing quickly told her that she didn't had him here, even before he said anything to her about it.
"Come on." She said, thinking that he was messing with her at this point, "Really?
"SCP-294 otherwise known as The Coffee Machine." Y/N revealed, "It can pour you anydrink you will desire from it, even if you would want it to give you a perfect drink."
"Oh, come on!" Tanpopo exclaimed, annoyed by him coming up with an answer to her suggestions in a few seconds, without having any problem with doing so, "How do you remember all of this?"
"I did tell you that people have some creative ideas when coming up with the ideas for them." Y/N pointed out, wondering how she would react if he told her that Garfield was an SCP as well. He ultimately decided to leave it for another time, "It never ceases to amaze me how creative people can get when it comes to coming up with them. My reaction was the pretty much the same as yours when I started going further into wiki after reading about SCP-049 otherwise known as the Plague Doctor and saw how much regular stuff was turned into SCP's."
Tanpopo blinked a few times as Y/N proceeded to speak about the topic he was interested in, before her eyes widened after realizing what was coming.
"SCP-049 which I mentioned a few seconds ago is actually my favourite SCP. The mystery and questions surrounding this SCP are just so interesting. Like how is he able of killing people by just his touch? I even bought myself a plague doctor costume because of him being my favourite SCP. " Y/N stopped himself from saying more once he set his eyes on Tanpopo and saw the look she was giving him. It was when he realized that he was starting to get a bit carried away, like he did with Guthrum when he asked him why he was so interested in SCP, "I'm sorry. I know you're not interested in it as much as I am. I was starting to get a bit carried away."
"At least you realized you were getting carried." Tanpopo stated, sounding pretty relieved about it, "I was starting to think you were going to start talking non-stop like when Takamiya-sister did when you asked her what was her deal with the Fire Witch."
"Wait a second." Y/N said, "How do you know about this?"
"I was standing in the hallway between when you two were having your little conversation." Tanpopo quickly responded with half-lie, not wanting him know that she was eavesdropping on their conversation, "It was hard not to hear her scream her lungs out at you after you called her a bro-con."
"Can you blame me for calling her a bro-con?" Y/N asked her before explaining himself to her, "For a second I thought that I was hearing things when she started to tell me all the things she used to do before the Princess started living with them. The stuff that she told me about, siblings just don't do them, alright?"
"Do I look like I'm judging you for calling her a bro-con?" Tanpopo pointed out, "I told her the same after she dragged me into her room to talk about the same thing. For a second I thought that she was going to murder me after I suggested that she might be a bro-con. I don't even want to talk about what happened afterwards."
"What happened?" Y/N asked, growing curious about it.
"Didn't I just tell you that I don't want to talk about it?" Tanpopo questioned, already starting to regret mentioning this rather embarrassing thing for her, because she noticed the curiosity in his eyes.
"You did." Y/N admitted that she was right on this matter, "But to be honest you got me quite curious about it."
Tanpopo sighed, knowing that she could only blame herself for sparking his curiosity about this, "She had me gather other Witches who have a grudge against the Fire Witch and bring them to her room the next day. We made sure to plan everything out and after we repeated your plan, we headed out for the Fire Witch. You know what she did when we went to the Fire Witch?"
"What did she do?" Y/N looked quite interested in learning about how this situation turned out.
"She bailed on us the moment the situation didn't start going according to the plan, telling that she has nothing to do with it, even though she planned it out herself." Tanpopo revealed.
Y/N stared at her for a few seconds before an amused smile formed on his face which was followed by him bursting into laughter.
"This isn't funny, you nyaow!" Tanpopo pointed out right after Y/N started laughing at her story, clearly not liking the way he reacted to it, "I was left with a few bruises after she bailed on us and I had to patch myself up!"
"I know, I know..." Y/N paused for a second and let out another laugh, "...I know, that I probably shouldn't laugh at this, sorry. I see that I clearly dodged a bullet by refusing to help her in her schemes against the Princess."
"You still should considering yourself lucky." Tanpopo said, "What she told you is still nothing compared to what I know about her."
"Really?" Y/N had no idea if he should ask her what she knew from Kasumi that he didn't or not.
"Really." Tanpopo confirmed it with a nod of her head, "She is able to figure out where her brother is if she concentrates and this, including with what she told you, is just a tip of the iceberg."
Y/N had no idea if Tanpopo was serious or if she was messing with him for laughing at her story, "You're serious?"
Tanpopo pointed at her face "Do I look like I'm joking?"
"...Holy shit." Y/N shook his head, "She really is a book example of a brother complex. I'm not sure if I want to know the rest if I what I know is a tip of the whole iceberg."
"It will be better for you if you won't know everything." Tanpopo answered, "You don't want to know what she does with his used clothes every night."
"You're right." Y/N nodded his head at her almost instantly, "It will be better for me if I will remain clueless about the rest."
Tanpopo nodded her head at him in return before getting up from his bed, "I should get going. I need to get one more thing ready for school tommorow."
"Alright." Y/N got up from his bed as well, grabbing the medkit, "I'll see you tommorow in our classes."
Tanpopo gave him a nod of her head as she began heading towards the exit from Y/N's room. The two of them walked out from Y/N's room and split up shorty after. Y/N went into the bathroom with the intention of putting the medkit in the place he took it from while Tanpopo went to the exit from his house, with the intention of going back to the Takamiya household and taking care of whatever she had to do.
Y/N put the medkit back into the drawer and walked out of the bathroom. He made his way to the stairs and walked down them. He stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at the area in front of the door, noticing that Tanpopo was already gone because her shoes were gone. After that, he turned his gaze away from the area.
He made his way into the living room and walked past Grimoire Guthrum, Macaron and Pierre who were watching another episode of Attack on Titan on the TV in the living room, making his way into the kitchen where he was going to make himself something to eat.

Here we go with another chapter! It was fun writing Y/N and Tanpopo together and I'm looking forward to writing these two interact more in the future chapters.
