The Grimoire User and Honoka's Weird Little Sister
It had been one day since Y/N was visited by Kazane, Ayaka, Honoka, Atori, Rinon, Touko and Natsume after they they found out he was in possession of Grimoire Guthrum and had a talk with him and Guthrum about the association of these two where they exchanged as much of information with each other as they could about the amnesiac floating book such as the name of the previous known user of Grimoire Guthrum, which ended with him deciding to join the Workshop.
Nothing much happened after he made this choice. He spoke with his guests for the several minutes about a few other things after he made his choice until Kazane decided that it was time for them to leave, because they have taken care of the matter for which they came to him. He went back to his room after he said his goodbyes to them where he continued to show Guthrum more of what the modern world had to offer, knowing that they had a lot of ground to cover in this matter after finding out for how long Guthrum was asleep from Kazane.
It was the next day now and right now he was on the way to his training grounds. He had quite a lot of free time today as he didn't have to go to school today because it was Sunday. This is why he left for his training shorty after he ate his breakfast, because he didn't have anything else to do in his house before heading out.
He looked at the passing buildings in the city from the city as he and Guthrum flied towards their destination in a comfortable silence, enjoying the feeling of the wind brushing past his shoulders. He grew to enjoy flying on his broom once he started to get the hang of it but this time he got to enjoy it more than he usually did, because this time he didn't had to look around himself every five seconds to avoid getting spotted by a witch because he was certain that every Workshop Witch in the city was aware of him and Grimoire Guthrum at this point.
He was certain about it, because before she left his household with the others, Kazane told him that after she will make her way back to the school, she will make sure to inform every Workshop Witch in the city about him and his association with Grimoire Guthrum and that they didn't had to worry about him, because he was a part of their Witch faction
"That was one good flight." Y/N smiled to himself once he entered his trianing grounds, wearing his robe. He will definitely enjoy flying on his broom more than he usually did from now on. He planted his cane into the floor and glanced to his side at Grimoire Guthrum, "I could focus on the flight and enjoy it instead of having to look around myself every five seconds to avoid getting spotted."
"It was definitely the most relieving flight I had with you so far." Grimoire Guthrum agreed with his user as he returned his gaze, "Because I didn't have to worry about you crashing into a building again like you did this one time."
"Will you ever stop pointing that out to me?" Y/N questioned, rolling his eyes at the comment Guthrum used everytime when they brought up his flying skills, "It happened only once when I was flying back home during my first attempt at flying this thing."
"I will stop pointing that out to you once you will start referring to me the way you should." Grimoire Guthrum explained, a spark of hope that it will make his user refer to him the way he desired to growing inside him.
"It will never happen, then?" Y/N stated in a questioning manner, completely killing the hope that just formed inside Guthrum.
Grimoire Guthrum let out a sigh of utter dissappointment, "And I thought this was going to work. Oh well, at least it's still better than being called a book, like that doll wielding witch did yesterday. The nerve of her daring to abbreviate my name like that, doesn't she know who I am?"
"I'm pretty sure she knows who you are, Guthrum. You made sure to let her know when you introduced yourself to everyone." Y/N pointed out, remembering how Guthrum showed off by his ego to everyone yesterday by just the way he introduced himself to them, "What do you mean you thought it might make me stop calling you Guthrum? I thought you had gotten used to it, because you're not getting angry and correct me about it whenever I call you Guthrum."
"No." Grimoire Guthrum replied, "I still loathe when you refer to me in such a manner. I just see no reason in correcting you about it everytime when you do so."
"You still prefer to be referred as Guthrum over the way Atori referred to you yesterday." Y/N pointed out. He smiled up at the floating book when he added, "Believe me, you will eventually grow fond of it."
Grimoire Guthrum moved from left to right as if he was shaking his head at Y/N's words, "I highly doubt that. There are many things that I know will never happen and this is one of them."
"Time will show, I suppose." Y/N shrugged his shoulders, still smilling and asked, even though he already excepted what was going to get in response, "What did you planned for today training?"
"Nice of you to finally bring this up." Grimoire Guthrum stated, "In our last training, you at last managed to cast Dark Blast after attempting to do so for the last few days. We will dedicate today and the following days to mastering it."
"I thought so well." Y/N nodded his head to himself as his theory of what they were going to do today was just confirmed, "I only managed to cast it three times during our last training. Not to mention the several minute delays I had between them."
"Exactly." Grimoire Guthrum said, nodding in his own way, "I am excepting to see you cast more of them today and I want it to become as frequent as it can be without any delays between them. The opponents you will come across in the future won't go easy on you, especially if I won't be there with you at the moment, because you're still in the process of learning and mastering your magic and will definitely use this to their advantage."
Y/N offered him a nod of his head to show his understanding of his words, before asking the floating book, "Are we going to start the training now?"
"We will begin in a moment." Grimoire Guthrum replied, "There is still one matter we need to take care of, before we will start the training I had prepared for you today. There is still one spell I haven't presented to you, because I was unable to do so until now."
Y/N thought for a second and it was when it came to him. He remembered that Guthrum still hasn't shown Dark Gluttony to him, because of his inability to do so, "You're talking about Dark Gluttony, right?"
"Yes." Grimoire Guthrum confirmed as he began distancing himself from his user. He stopped about three meters away from Y/N and looked straight at him, "Now, cast Dark Blast at me and I will present to you how this spells works."
"Makes sense." Y/N thought to himself as he nodded his head at Guthrum to show him that he understood what he wanted him to do now, "Guthrum said to me that he is not capable of repeling his own magic, but he might be able to repel magic I casted at him, even if I am learning the same magic he wields."
The user of Grimoire Guthrum set his gaze on the floating book a few meters in front of him and held his cane out towards Guthrum, pointing it at the floating book, making sure to be as relaxed as ever, before doing so. He just stood there for a a minute or two, attempting to cast Dark Blast, the words of himself saying that he shouldn't try to force this out of him flying through his mind over and over again.
His effort quickly paid off. A single red magic projectile flied out from his cane and began heading towards Grimoire Guthrum. He smiled to himself joyfully, because of how little time he needed to cast it. It was the least amount of time it had taken him to cast this spell so far. He hoped the rest of todays training will go as smoothly and that him managing to cast Dark Blast so quickly wasn't just a one time thing.
He got quickly shifted his attention to Grimoire Guthrum, remembering why he casted this spell at the floating book in the first place. He observed how the red ball neared Guthrum who remained where he was, readying himself to use Dark Gluttony. He used it about a second later later once the ball was several inches in front of him.
Y/N immediately knew when Guthrum used this spell, because a red force field looking like thing, Y/N wasn't exactly sure if that was the right name for it, appeared around Guthrum. The red projectile increased it's pace and found itself to be a floating around him in circles in the blink of an eye. Grimoire Guthrum stared at Y/N for a brief moment, before turning away from him to look at one of the old crates behind him, intending to demostrate the last part of the spell to him.
He gathered as much energy in him as he could with ony one projectile floating around him and fired a red laser-like beam at the crate in front of him. The beam touched the wooden crate and caused it to burst into hudrends of small wooden pieces, the said pieces joining many other pieces of the crates that were destroyed by either Y/N or Guthrum during one of their training sessions.
Grimoire Guthrum turned around to look at his user again and made his way back to him, "This is exactly how Dark Gluttony works in practice. It's a powerful spell as you can see and the beam you shot out at the end only gets larger and more powerful the more projectiles you repel, but unfortunely it has one major downside of not every magic user being capable of doing magic that shots out projectiles. It will most likely take you some time until you will have to repel magic other than mine."
Y/N nodded his head in understanding, not having much to say regarding Dark Gluttony, because Guthrum had already filled him in about everything related to this spell on the day when they stumbled across each other. He even repeated his detailed explanation after realizing that he won't be able to show him this spell during their first training session. He opened his mouth, intending to ask Guthrum if they will start their training, now, but was cut off as the floating book continued.
"There's one more matter that just came that up I feel like I need to mention, before we will start your training." Grimoire Guthrum sounded pleasantly suprised as he continued, knowing what his new user was going to ask him, before he cut him off, "It didn't took you long to cast Dark Blast. In fact, it was the least amount of time it took you cast it so far. I have hopes it won't be just a one time thing."
"So do I, Guthrum." Y/N nodded his head in agreement to show him that he hoped it wasn't a one time thing today as well.
"With this matter settled, shall we begin your training for today?" Grimoire Guthrum questioned, beginning to distance himself from him again as Y/N nodded in response.
Y/N spent the next hour and a half trying to cast Dark Blast at Grimoire Guthrum who remained distanced away three meters away from him. At first his training today was rather clunky for him as there were two almost ten minute breaks between the the times when his attempts at casting Dark Blast were successful. Those breaks only became shorter as the training went on, with the shortest one being around seven minutes. Every time when he managed to cast it, Grimoire Guthrum avoided it by simply moving to the side.
Y/N had to stop his training for a moment once he felt his phone vibrating in pocket which could mean only one thing. Not wanting to leave the person calling him hanging, he set his cane aside and reached into his pocket, before pulling out his phone. He glanced at the screen of it, finding out who was calling him.
It was Honoka.
He wasn't suprised by his neighbour having his phone number, because he exchanged numbers with everyone he had spoken with yesterday to have an easy communication with them whenever they would need to speak with him or whenever an emergency would occur.
He clicked his phone, responding to the call and pressed it against his ear, "Yes, Honoka? What is it?"
"Is that you, Y/N?" A female voice rang through his ears. Y/N immediately recognized this voice. It was Kasumi, Honoka's younger sister.
"Kasumi?" He asked, suprised to hear her voice on the other side of the phone, "Why are you calling me?"
"I need your help with something." Kasumi explained to Y/N why she called him, but didn't specify with what she needed his help with, "I would call you using my own phone, because onii-chan gave me your number yesterday, but I called you using his, because I knew you would certainly answer the call of someone you already have in your contact numbers, instead of an unknown number."
"Understable." Y/N nodded his head to himself in understanding, "Many people ignore the calls from the unknown numbers, but I can't blame them for that, considering that most of unknown numbers are people trying to scam other people."
"Are you on your training right now?" Kasumi asked him once he voiced his understanding of her uisng Honoka's phone to call him.
"Training?" Y/N repeated Kasumi's words, "So, you know about me?"
"Yes." Kasumi confirmed, "I know about you and Grimoire Guthrum and that you joined the Workshop yesterday. The chairwoman made sure to inform everyone about it."
Y/N nodded his head to himself. So the chairwoman made sure to inform everyone about him and Guthrum after leaving his household just like she told him she would. Good to know. He confirmed to Kasumi where he was right now right after, "Yes. I'm on my training with Guthrum right now."
"For how long this training of yours will last?" She asked him, "There is something important I want to talk with you about."
A look of suprise formed on Y/N's face when he heard the reason why she called him. Kasumi wanted to talk about something important with him? He couldn't think of a subject they could speak about. Perharps it had something to do with him now being a part of the Workshop. There was only one way to find out.
"Give me a second. I will count how much time I have left to the end." He told her and Kasumi voiced her understanding of his words in response, "Let's see, I and Guthrum have been training for about hour and a half right now soooo..." He paused for a second or two, coming up with an answer and responded, "Two hours at most."
"Okay." Kasumi responded, "I'll be waiting for you in my room."
It was the last thing he heard from Kasumi before the conversation between him and her ended. Not having the need to use his phone anymore at the moment, Y/N put it back in his pocket.
"Who were you speaking with, lad?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know.
"Kasumi." Y/N replied as he turned around to loo at Guthrum before explaining to him who she was, "She's Honoka's younger sister."
"Ah, yes." Grimoire Guthrum said, remembering hearing about her before, "The two of you mentioned her briefly during our talk with the Workshop Witches yesterday. What did she want to talk about?"
"She wants me to come to her house because she wants to talk with me about something but didn't specify about what." Y/N explained, before shrugging his shoulders, "I'll find out once I will talk to her."
"I see." Grimoire Guthrum answered, "Should I stay in your household like the last time when you went to visit your neighbours?"
"No." Y/N shook his head, "The Witches of this city already know about our association so I see no reason in trying to hide you from everyone anymore. Yuu can come with me if you want to."
Grimoire Guthrum hummed in understanding, "Shall we return to your training, now? I'll make my decision once we will be done with it."
Y/N nodded his head, "Okay."
-----
The rest of the training Guthrum had come up for Y/N today lasted about one half and a half, close to the time Y/N had assumed it would last. Y/N managed to make some improvements today with the biggest one being him reaching the shortest break he's had so far between the balls of Dark Blast with it lasting about five minutes. Despise it being an improvement over the several minute breaks Y/N has had on the last training session, he and Guthrum still agreed that he still had some more training sessions to go before he will be ready to move onto another spell.
The two of them left the abandoned warehouse that served the purpose of being Y/N's training grounds after they finished their training for the day, but instead of heading back to Y/N's house like they originally planned to when and like they normally did after finishing the training for the day, Y/N and Guthrum made their way to the Takamiya household, the former intending to find out about what Kasumi wanted to talk with him.
Y/N, now wearing his clothes, reached his hand out and knocked on the door, waiting for someone to open it. He didn't have to wait long. The door was open several seconds later and Komachi Takamiya appeared in his view.
"Hey, Y/N." She offered him a kind welcoming smile, "What brings you here again?"
"Hello, Miss." Y/N offered his own greetings in return, bowing his head politely, "I came here to see Kasumi. She wanted to talk with me about something."
Komachi nodded her head in understanding and moved aside a bit, giving Y/N enough space to enter her household, "Come in. Kasumi should be in her room right now."
Y/N nodded his head and walked into the house, with Grimoire Guthrum following him into it. Komachi closed the door as Y/N took off his shoes and placed them aside, making sure to not mess up the cleaned entry. Komachi walked away from him and Guthrum, most likely to take care of her own business in her house as Y/N made his way to the stairs and began making his way to the upper floor.
He passed by Tanpopo who was about to make her way down the stairs once he reached the upper floor. She stopped what she was doing and turned around to look at him as soon he and Guthrum passed her. Her attention was not Y/N, though. It was on the floating book following him. The two of them ignored the dark-blonde, having no reason to speak with her and continued to move towards Kasumi's room.
He found himself to be standing in front of the entrance to her room a few seconds later. He didn't have to worry about going into the wrong room, because the sign on the doors was telling him that it was Kasumi's room. He raised his fist in the air and knocked on the doors, waiting for Kasumi to respond to it by either opening the doors or telling him to come in.
"Come in!" Kasumi's voice sounded on the other side of the doors a second later.
Y/N grabbed the door handle and pushed the entrance to Kasumi's room open. He walked into her room, with Guthrum following him into it and was immediately greeted by the view of her sitting on the floor. She stopped whatever she was doing at the moment and looked at Y/N. The boy who just entered her room made sure to take a good quick look around her room as soon as he entered it.
If he was honest with himself, he couldn't remember the last time when he saw so much pink in one place. It was probably the last time when he visited his cousins and saw Kotonoha's room. The walls were covered with pink wallpaper, there were a few pink clocks hanging on the wall, the curtain covering the window was pink, the quilt on Kasumi's bed was also pink and if he saw it correctly, the sign signalling that it was Kasumi's room was also pink.
Another thing he noticed was that Kasumi owned a massive collection of plushies of various sizes and colours. He never saw so many plushies in a place that wasn't a store that sold them. There was even one little Creeper in her collection of plushies and it didn't took him long to notice it.
The last thing he noticed in Kasumi's room was a teddy bear laying on her bed that he quickly recognized as the bear he had seen a few days ago when he came to this household to ask Honoka if he could let him do the pictures of the classes he had missed during his absence in school.
"Y/N" Kasumi's voice caused him to look down at her, "You came."
"I did tell you I will come as soon as I will finish my training, didn't I?" Y/N responded as he gestured towards the bear on Kasumi's bed, "So this bear on the bed is yours?"
"Yes." Kasumi nodded in confirmation, before asking him, "You saw Macaron before?"
"I saw him once." Y/N replied, "A few days ago when I visited your brother to take pictures of the classes I missed when I wasn't in school. I didn't make any comments about it, because I was keeping myself a secret back then."
"Macaron is my familiar." Kasumi explained to Y/N who Macaron was to her as Y/N nodded his head in understanding. He knew what a familiar was from Guthrum, or at least he knew in some way what a familiar was, because the explanation about this subject he got from Guthrum was so long that he got lost in the middle of it. His eyes widened when all of the plushies stood up after Kasumi snapped her fingers, standing behind her as if they were her army, "My magic allows me to control the stuffed animals onii-chan gives me."
Y/N nodded his head at her explanation, to show his understanding of it. It would explain why she owned this many plushies.
"Ever since I figured that out, I've bugged him to give me more stuffed animals, steadily increasing their ranks." Kasumi added to her explanation when Y/N remained silent.
"Makes sense." Y/N nodded his head, "I would probably do the same if my magic allowed me to do the same thing." Knowing what Kasumi was about to ask him next, he pointed at Grimoire Guthrum behind him, "My magic allows me to do the same spells as Guthrum does, or least I'm learning how to do it from him. I still have a long way to go."
"Pleased to make your acquaintance!" Grimore Guthrum said as he saw this as an opportunity to introduce himself. Y/N sighed internally, knowing where Guthrum's introduction was going, "I am Grimoire Guthrum. I'm a being of incalculable importance and I hope I will get the respe...!"
"You don't need to introduce yourself. I already know who you are." Kasumi cut Grimoire Guthrum off, not caring about his introduction right now as she had more important matter sto deal with right now, "What are you doing here in the first place? Go somewhere else. This doesn't concern you. The talk I am planning to have with Y/N will be private and I want to have it in private."
"Excuse me?!" Grimoire Guthum exclaimed, offended by the way Kasumi was speaking to him and lack of respect he received from her.
"Macaron." Kasumi titled her head towards the teddy bear on her bed, making the bear let out a "Guma" in response to voice his acknowledgement of her calling. Y/N narrowed his eyes at Kasumi. She could understand what this bear was saying. On the second thought, it made sense to him, considering him being her familiar, "Go with Grimoire Guthrum and keep him occupied when I'll be talking with Y/N."
"Guma!" Macaron saluted, understanding the new order from his mistress. He made his way to the exit from the room and looked at Guthrum, waving his paw at the floating book, motioning to him to follow him, "Guma!"
"What is the meaning of this?" Grimoire Guthrum screamed at Kasumi, ignoring Macaron's invitation to hang out with him as he clearly didn't like how she was ordering him around him, "Do you know who I am? I am Grimoire Guthrum and I won't be ordered around by the likes of you and I won't be ordered to spend my time with a mere familiar of all things! I deserve to spend my time with the people who are worthy of it! Mere familiars are far from it!"
"Could you leave us along for a second, Guthrum?" Y/N asked as this behaviour wasn't anything new to him, "You heard Kasumi. She wants to talk about it with me in private. I'll make it as fast as possible."
"...Very well." Grimoire Guthrum responded after a brief moment. His response sounded forced, though, "I shall get going and leave the two of you for yourself." He looked at his user, this time not hiding how forced his response was, "I will be waiting for you in front of the entrance from this household."
Kasumi watched Grimoire Guthrum and Macaron leave her room, with the latter shutting the doors behind them, leaving her and Y/N alone in the room. She glanced at her neighbour as soon as they left her room, "Is he always like this?"
"You'll get used to it." Y/N replied, using the same response like he did with Rinon when she asked him the same question yesterday, "I already did."
"If you say so." Kasumi replied, not entirely convinced by it. She reached her hand out and patted the floor in front of her, "Go ahead. Sit down."
Y/N nodded his head and sat down on the floor in front of Kasumi, before asking her, "What did you want to talk about? It must have been something important if you wanted to talk in private."
"Tell me, Y/N." Kasumi began as she put her hands on Y/N's shoulders, looking at him with a completely serious look on her face, "I want you to be honest with me. Do you love your sister?"
"What kind of question is that?" Y/N questioned as he was suprised by her asking him such a question, looking at her as if she had just asked him the most obvious question in history, "Of course I do."
"Good." Kasumi nodded her head, smilling slightly as she removed her hands from his shoulders and looked down at the floor, her serious expression not leaving her face, "It means you may understand what I am going through right now and that I'm in time of great need."
"You need my help with Honoka?" Y/N asked, not hiding how suprised by the reason why Kasumi wanted to speak with him. He didn't knew they were having siblings problems, because he never saw them have one of these. In fact, Kasumi was clinging onto Honoka throughout the entire way to school, "It's kind of suprising to be honest. You didn't seem to be on bad terms the last time I saw you two together."
"This isn't about onii-chan." Kasumi shook her head, "This is about the Princess."
"Princess?" Y/N asked in confusion. Why would Kasumi ask him to help her with the problems she was having with Ayaka? He wasn't really the best person to be asked about it, but he will listen to what she had to say, "What about her?"
"Let me start from the beginning. I'm certain you will feel hostile to the Princess once you will hear what I have to say." Kasumi took a deep breath, preparing herself for everything she was going to say to him, "Let me tell you about some of the devilish deeds done by that woman. Our household was a peaceful place until she came into the picture. She started by depriving me of my sleep. Every other night I sleep in the same bed as onii-chan but haven't been able to ever since the Princess got in my way. I get chill easily so I can't get a good night's sleep if I'm not hugging my brother. I suffer a massive sleep deprivation every day now, because of this and my skin is a mess too. This is just a tip of a dreadful iceberg, though."
Y/N blinked a few times, taken by suprise by what he had just learned from Kasumi. Her telling him about her climbing into Honoka's bed at night and how frequent it was definitely not what he was excepting to her from her. He climbed into Claire's bed after a bad dream a few times in his life, but it was when he was much younger, but he never thought about doing it in the age he was now, especially as frequently as Kasumi did.
Was this really the conversation she wanted to have with him in private? There was only way to find out. Keep listening to her.
They were unaware someone was eavesdropping on them. Tanpopo pressed her head against the entrance to Kasumi's room. She shook her head, knowing what was ahead of Y/N, because she was once found herself in his place after Kasumi had dragged her into her room and offered an alliance against Ayaka after another beating she and her team received from her.
"She stole the joy in eating too." Kasumi continued, ignoring the suprised look Y/N was giving her, "On weekdays, onii-chan chooses a spot in the school courtyard where no one else sits and eats lunch so I ate with him. I get hungrier when my brother is around, you see, so the food I ate then tasted delicious to me. It all went away when the Princess showed up and he started eating with her. As a result, food stopped tasting good and I've lost appetite. I'm afraid I'm going to become anorexic. I've lost half a pound already."
Y/N remained silent as he didn't knew if he should say something or not. He didn't even knew how should respond to this. This is was another reason why he decided to continue listen to her, saving the comments about it going through his mind until she'll be done with it.
"That's not all." Kasumi proceeded to speak, "Part of our routine to go to the supermarket on the way home to buy food for dinner together. My brother would push the cart and come up with ideas for menus. But thanks to the Princess that stopped too! I was even making sure that onii-chan was eating a balanced diet."
Y/N rested his head on his hand as he proceeded to listen to Kasumi, slowly coming to one conclusion about her.
"After dinner, I'd just hang out in onii-chan's room." Kasumi didn't even thought about stopping as she was willing to share everything with her neighbour, "I'd sit on his bed and read manga, call my friends, play games and stuff like that. I'd also make sure that he's reviewing for his classes the next day and sometimes I'd have him help me with my homework. Now that I can't do this, I feel like my grades have gone downhill. She's trying to make me look dumb and stop me from going the same university as onii-chan!
Y/N slowly nodded his head, lowering his gaze a little, feeling how this entire thing was making him sleepy, because there was simply no end to Kasumi's explanation of the problems she was having with Ayaka. He knew he was the one who decided to keep listening to her, but he wasn't excepting it to last this long.
He felt as if it was the day when he encountered Guthrum for the first time and it was the moment of Guthrum explaining everything he needed to know about everything related to magic to him.
"Oh, and baths." Kasumi brought up another thing as Y/N lifted his head up from his hand, his expression practically screaming "Wait, what?" once he heard her mention this, "We used to take baths together every day. Part of our routine was for him to wash my whole body from head to toe. I like being clean so I made sure he did a good job of washing me. I'd have him spend about an hour so that he didn't miss a spot. Wasn't I embarrassed? Of course not! We're siblings! I'm sure you had to go through the same thing with your sister!"
Y/N lowered his head, but this time didn't rest it on his hand, feeling how his eyelids were becoming heavier with each passing second as he was slowly drifting into sleep. He couldn't help but feel weirded out by Kasumi admitting to be climbing into her brothers bath every other day as if it was a perfectly normal thing to do with your sibling, even though it wasn't. He never, never even thought about going into the shower with his sister. Siblings just didn't do that.
There was one more thing he had to admit as soon as Kasumi brought this thing up. It only confirmed the suspicions he started having about her a few moments ago when she started voicing her problems to him.
"Even on our days off we were usually together." There seemed to be no end to Kasumi's explanation as she continued, "We'd sometimes sit around and do nothing for an entire day, but sometimes we'd go shopping. There's a cafe we used to always go to in front of the station and I really like tiramisu there. He still will sometimes but it for me, but it doesn't tasted as good as it does when we eat it at the cafe together."
Y/N wasn't exactly sure if he was listening to her anymore as his head was completely lowered at his point. His eyes were closed now as he felt himself drifting more and more into sleep.
"The Princess is trying to take everything away from me! That's her dastardly plan!" Kasumi shouted loud enough to make Y/N's eyes shot open as if someone had just clapped their hands together in front of his face when he was sleeping. He once again looked at her and she looked straight into his eyes, "This is why I wanted you to come here! I want you to help me get my revenge on her!'
Y/N was completely silent, narrowing his eyes at Kasumi as if she had just grown a second head, as he didn't knew how to respond to everything he had just heard from her. "...Why did you told me all of this?"
A look of genuine confusion formed on his facial features as soon as those words left his mouth. He honestly had no idea why Kasumi would even think about sharing all of this information with him in the first place and he wasn't exactly sure if he wanted to find out why.
However, there was one thing he was certain about after listening to everything she had said to him. It didn't took him look to come up to such a conclusion. Anyone would come up with it after listening to Kasumi's story.
Kasumi was a book example of a brother complex.
"Why are you so confused? I thought I made myself clear a moment ago." Kasumi seemed confused by the way he reacted to her sharing the problems she having with Ayaka with him, "I told you all of this, because you have an older sibling yourself. You may understand the pain I am going through after Princess took away the time I was spending with onii-chan."
"I'm not exactly sure how I should help you with this as I don't understand why everything you just said would make me hostille to the Princess. I was never angry at my sisters friends when she was going out to hang out with them." Y/N responded, making sure to be as honest as he could, without angering her, "There's one thing that flew through my mind when I listened to you. I think so, no, I'm actually pretty sure you have a brother complex."
It was when Kasumi's entire room was engulfed in a pure silence. The two of them just became silent, not saying a single word to each other. Y/N didn't know why, but he felt as if he had just made a terrible mistake. A massive wave of cold shot through his entire body from his head to his feet. The atmosphere in the room massively changed from the friendly one into a much colder one as if he had just a deserted house in the middle of the forest.
Tanpopo shook her head for another time as she removed her ear from the doors to Kasumi's room after listening to what Kasumi had to say to Y/N, letting out a sigh as she did so, feeling pity for the foreigner as she knew what was coming. She had experienced it herself. He just had to tell Kasumi that she had a brother complex, unaware of what it will awake in her...
"WHAT?!" Kasumi bellowed as she broke the silence that formed inside her room after Y/N's remark, the volume of her voice making her plushies shake and the walls tremble.
Y/N jumped a few inches backwards as soon as Kasumi's loud scream rang through his ears, sweatdropping once she saw the livid expression on Kasumi's face. The way how absolutely livid Kasumi became, because he suggested her having such a thing as a brother complex was actually kind of terrifying to see. She looked like she was seconds away from going berserk on him.
"Wh-What are you saying!?" Kasumi stuttered out with pure anger in her voice, "What made you even come to such a conclusion!? Are you having brain problems like Furry-Ears?! I don't like onii-chan in that kind of way! It's just that he's my future husband! That's all! We're going to build a happy family and be blessed with three beautiful children! How does that mean I like him!?"
Kasumi lowered her head once she finished her loud denial of her having a brother complex and began letting one deep breath after another, recovering from the loud shouting she just did. Y/N let out a sigh of his own, relieved that it had ended, feeling as if he had avoided death. It was when he noted one thing to himself. Never mention such a thing in front of Kasumi again. No matter what.
"...Let me get this straight. You want to have children with your brother?" Y/N asked once Kasumi looked up at him after steadying her breathing.
"Yeah. We will have three children to be exact." Kasumi confirmed, the anger she felt seconds earlier completely gone, "I already picked the names. Do you want to hear them?"
"Kasumi, you know how babies are made, right?" Y/N questioned without answering to her question, not believing he was having this kind of conversation with her.
"Of course I do." Kasumi replied, nodding her head, "I'm not some uneducated girl."
Y/N felt a slight blush form on his face at such a suggestion about Honoka and Kasumi flying through his head, "So, you and your brother are going to do, you know?"
"A bird comes by to deliver you babies, right?" Kasumi responded, her answer taking Y/N aback, "Like a little Pteranodon."
"...What?" Y/N looked utterly puzzled by her response.
"Mommy said that it comes by when a man and a woman are at the height of happiness." Kasumi explained as if she was confused that she even had to explain it to him, the puzzled expression on Y/N's face being the reason of her confusion.
"Are you serious?" Y/N wanted to be sure if Kasumi was messing with him or not. At this point He truly had no idea if she was serious or not.
"Yes." Kasumi confirmed. She stared at him with pure in confusion in her eyes, a complete contrast of how angry she was with him just a few moments earlier, "What's wrong, Y/N? You're starting to creep me out."
"Kasumi." Y/N began as he tried to figure out what he should say to her, feeling how sweat poured down his forehead upon realizing that Kasumi was indeed serious about all of this, "You know there is another way to make children, right?"
"Of course I do." Kasumi nodded with a toss of her hand as she smiled slightly, "I and Miss. Tanuma had it explained to us in the health class the other day. It's another way to do it, but it sounds dirty."
Y/N glanced to the side and buried his face in his hands, letting out a sigh into them. He shook his head, allowing his brain to process everything he had just learnt from Kasumi. He never excepted to have a conversation like this with Kasumi when he was on the way to the Takamiya household. It was when he decided to end this conversation right here. He didn't want to be the one to correct her about everything she was wrong about in terms of how babies were born.
Kasumi's smile vanished from his lips once she saw his reaction and broke another silence that formed between them, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." He responded as he shifted his gaze back to her when he decided that it would be the best for him if he just forgot that he had this conversation with her, "Just forget the coversation we just had. It was pointless."
Kasumi nodded her head to show her understanding on Y/N not wanting to talk with her about this, not understanding why the thought of her and Honoka having children together weirded him out so much, "So...You're not going to help me get my revenge on the Princess?"
"Yes." Y/N nodded in confirmation as he quickly thought of an answer, using the first one that came to his mind, not wanting to get involved in whatever was going on between her and Ayaka, "I'm not the best person to be asked for help in this kind of thing."
"That's a shame. I was hoping you would understand." Kasumi responded, dissappointed by Y/N not wanting to help her with her problems with the Princess as she pulled out a PSP console she had kept behind in her just in case if this entire thing turned out the way it did and looked down at it, "I guess I'll just play Monhun."
"Monhun?" Y/N repeated the name of the game Kasumi intended to play, "Do you mean Monster Hunter?"
"Yes." Kasumi confirmed it as she looked at him again, slightly interested, "Do you play it?"
"I asked my parents for one on my birthday, because I wanted to play the GTA games that came out for this console." Y/N began his explanation, "The console they bought me had a few games and Monster Hunter was one of them. I played it for some time until I eventually grew bored of it."
Kasumi's interest grew as she asked him another question, "Do you still have the console?"
"I do." Y/N nodded in confirmation, "I think I have it in on the drawers in my desk. I will have to check if the console is still working, though. The last time when I played on it was over two years ago when I played Liberty City Stories."
"Can you go check if it still's working?" Kasumi asked, the thought of having the second player exciting her a bit, "I haven't had the second player to it with since onii-chan started hanging out witht the Princess. I tried playing it with Furry-Ears, but she's not good at it. I have to remind her what to do every five seconds."
"I can do that. It's not like I have anything else planned for today." Y/N nodded his head as the desire to play this game grew within him. Perharps he just found out how he was going to spend the rest of the day, "But before I'll go, could you give me your number so I won't need to walk back here just to tell you that it's not working?"
"Sure." Kasumi nodded as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. She unlocked it and clicked on it a few times, before turning it around to show him her number as it was now displayed on the screen, "Here."
Y/N set his gaze on the number displayed on Kasumi's phone, before pulling out his own phone out from his pocket, "...Got it." He said a moment later after he saved her number as Kasumi put her phone aside, "I'll be right back if my PSP will turn out to be still working."
------
Y/N ended up returning to the Takamiya household a few moments later as his PSP console turned out to be still working, much to the dismay of Guthrum who had to hang out with Kasumi's familiar who he believed to be named Macaron and one of the mechanical rabbits that he believed belonged to Tanpopo, considering how her room was fillled with all kinds of things related to this animal, because of it.
Neither Y/N and Kasumi were sure for how long they were playing this game together, because the two of the had kind of lost the track of the at some point as they completely lost themselves in the game. At first, Y/N wasn't doing well in the game when he and Kasumi started playing it after he returned to her room, because he had to remember a lot of things about this game when it came to playing it properly.
He couldn't really blame himself for being pretty average and making a simple mistakes at the start, because the last time when he played this game was about two years ago, but he had fun neverthless. It took him a moment to remember everything he had to know about this game and get the hang of it again but once he did, it resulted in him and Kasumi literally massacring their virtual opponents.
"I'm here, Y/N! Did you set up those traps!?"
"I surely did! What about you? Did you took care what you needed to?"
"Of course I did! Otherwise I wouldn't be coming back to you! Who do you take me for?"
"Just checking! I can ask you the same thing about me setting up the traps!"
"I was just making sure!"
The two of them were forced to take their eyes off consoles once they heard someone open the door to Kasumi's room. They paused their games and looked up from their consoles, wanting to know who just entered the room, making them look like puppies who just heard their owner come home and saw Komachi standing in the entrance to Kasumi's room.
"What is it, mom?" Kasumi asked Komachi as she looked up at her mom from her paused game.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your fun but it looks you will have end it for the day." Komachi explained, offering them a slight smile, "It's dinner time."
Kasumi's eyes widened in suprise, "It's dinner time?"
"We played for this long?" He asked himself, suprised by how long he and Kasumi played this game. He glanced at the window behind him and Kasumi and saw how the darkened sky engulfed the entire area around the house , "Oh." He shifted his gaze from the window at Kasumi, "Looks like we lost the track of time."
Kasumi nodded in agreement, "Yeah. What time was it when we started playing Monhun?"
Y/N thought for a second before responding, "I don't remember to be honest. At least three or four hours for sure."
"Probably." Kasumi once again nodded in agreement.
"I should get going if it's dinner-time." Y/N stated as he got up from the floor, switching his PSP off as he did so, "I need to prepare myself a dinner and prepare stuff for the school tommorow."
"You can stay for the dinner if you want to." Komachi offered to let him stay for the dinner, her sudden offer suprising Y/N.
"Really?" Y/N was suprised by the offer as he started rubbing the back of his head, "I'm not sure about it. I don't really want to cause any problems."
"You don't need to worry about it." Komachi offered him an assuring smile in response, "There should be enough food for anyone. Honoka and Kasumi's friends are always welcome here."
"If that's not the problem then I guess I can stay for a bit longer." Y/N smiled back at her and bowed his head in a grateful manner, "Thank you for the offer."
The three of them walked out of Kasumi's room right after Y/N agreed to stay over for the dinner, with Kasumi leaving her PSP on her bed before she left the room. They made their way down the stairs to the lower floor of the house and walked into the living room. From there made their way to the dinner table which was near the kitchen. Honoka, Ayaka and Tanpopo were already gathered around the dinner table, waiting for the dinner to be served.
"I brought Kasumi and Y/N will be joining us today for the dinner if you don't mind." Komachi announced as she walked past the dinner table and walked into the kitchen to finish preparing the dinner for everyone.
"Hey, Y/N." Honoka said as Kasumi and Y/N took their seats around the table, "Good to see you."
Y/N nodded his head at Honoka once he shifted his gaze to him, offering him a quick greeting in return, "Hey. Good to see you too." He shifted his gaze between Honoka and Ayaka before asking them, "Has either of you seen Guthrum everywhere before I came to the kitchen? "
"Grimoire Guthrum-sama should be outside the house on the sidewalk." Honoka explained, "I saw him hanging out outside with Macaron and one of Kurashisamu-san's rabbits not that long ago."
"It's Kuraishi..." Tanpopo muttered under breath in an annoyed manner, "He does that on purpose..."
"Thanks." Y/N nodded his head at Honoka, "Good to know where he is. I thought he'd be back in my house by now, considering for how long I was in this house. Me and Kasumi kinda got carried away with our gaming session and lost the track of time."
"I know." Honoka nodded his head to that, "I heard you two when I walked past Kasumi-chan's room. I didn't say hi back then because it sounded like you two were having fun and I didn't want to interrupt you two."
"It was hard to play it at first, because of how badly Y/N was playing. I had to keep rushing back to Y/N during the first several minutes otherwise you would keep dying." Kasumi pointed out to her brother as she got the chance to tell him about her day for a bit, before a slight smile formed on her lips, "He got the hang of the game pretty quickly, though. We ended up kicking our opponents butts in the end."
"Hey, it's not entirely my fault." Y/N raised his hands defensively at the part where Kasumi mentioned how badly he was doing in the game at first, "The last time when I played this game was over three years ago and I'm not exactly sure if I played it for long back then. I played a lot of games since then. I had to remember a lot of things about this game before I could play it properly."
"You still were doing better than Furry-Ears when you were remembering how to play it." Kasumi stated, "I had to keep telling her how she should play this game every five seconds because she didn't knew what to do."
"You again with this thing?!" Tanpopo was obviously annoyed by Kasumi bringing it up, "How could I be good at this game? I never played it before you dragged me into your room to play it with you, because Takamiya-kun wouldn't play it with you."
"Can't really argue with her, Kasumi." Y/N agreed with Tanpopo, "It's rather to hard to be good at the game if it's your first time playing it."
"See?!" Tanpopo pointed at Y/N, "Even L/N-kun agrees with me!"
"Y/N." Y/N said to Tanpopo right after she referred to him.
Tanpopo looked at him, lowering her hand, "Huh?"
"Just Y/N is enough." Y/N replied, "I just prefer when people refer to me by my first name. I guess, it just stayed with me after living in America for a good portion of my life."
Y/N didn't got the response from Tanpopo as the cat eared girl remained silent. He just shrugged his shoulders at her silence.
A curious look grew on Kasumi's face when she asked Y/N, with Honoka looking curious about it too, "Why did you and your family moved to Japan from America?"
"My parents job." Y/N's explanation was short and straight to the point as Kasumi nodded her head. The foreigner titled his head towards Honoka a second later and called out for him a, wanting to ask him about something, "Honoka. Has anything else happened after our little talk in my house yesterday?"
"Not really." Honoka shook his head, "We all parted ways after we left your home. The chairwoman called every Workshop Witch in the city to the school later that day, but we didn't come, because we already knew about you and Grimoire Guthrum-sama."
Y/N nodded his head at Honoka's response, "Alright."
It wasn't long before dinner was served. Y/N didn't know what to think of it when he set his eyes on it. It was a typical food Japenese people normally had for the dinner. It looked quite tasty, though. His thoughts about it changed once he he dug into it along with the others at the table and his eyes widened after his bite, completely taken aback by how this food tasted like.
It was absolutely delicious. Y/N couldn't remember the last time when he ate food that tasted so good. It was probably the last time when Claire was out of college and cooked a dinner for them both. He even asked for seconds after finishing his plate, even though he was quite relucant about doing it before it. Komachi just smiled, gladdened to see their guest enjoying the food, before serving him the seconds.
Once dinner was over and after everyone left the dinner table, Y/N thanked the family for letting him to stay over for the dinner and said his goodbyes to them, before making his way to the exit from the house. He put his shoes on and walked out of the house. He looked around himself, trying to spot Guthrum anywhere. He wasn't exactly if he will see him. Perharps the floating book would be in home by now.
He noticed Grimoire Guthrum just a few seconds later. The floating book was on the sidewalk, just like Honoka said, with Macaron and one of Tanpopo's mechanical rabbits. Y/N pushed himself into walk towards them after spotting them, watching they were doing. The trio seemed to be having some sort of conversation with each other, but Y/N didn't know about what it was, because of him being unable to understand whatever Macaron and the rabbit were saying.
Macaron elbowed the rabbit next to him with the intention of getting his attention, making the other familiar title his head towards him. Not wanting Guthrum to hear it, Macaron leaned his head closer to the rabbit and let out a quiet, "Guma."
"Usa." The rabbit nodded in agreement before the two of them chuckled at whatever Macaron had just said to him, the bear slapping the rabbit's shoulder in a friendly manner as he did so.
"What is so amusing to you?" Grimoire Guthrum asked the two familiars in front of him, wanting to know what was the subject that made them chuckle, not noticing Y/N who proceeded to make his way to the trio, "Perharps you would like to share it with me, hmmm?"
"Usa." The rabbit replied, holding back another chuckle as he pointed at Guthrum.
"What?" Grimoire Guthrum exclaimed, "What is that supposed to mean? I'm not funny! What made you come to such a conclusion in the first place?!"
"Usa." The rabbit responded.
Macaron nodded in agreement, "Guma."
"What do you mean my behaviour is funny?" Grimoire Guthrum questioned, "There's nothing funny about wanting to be referred to with the respect you deserve! It's a perfectly normal behaviour for someone as important as I!"
Macaron and the rabbit only chuckled at his response, amused by his behaviour, annoying Guthrum even further. Y/N just smiled at the interaction as he reached the trio, earning their attention.
"There you are, lad." Grimoire Guthrum said the moment Y/N approached him and the other two, "What took you this long? I was starting to think that you will stay in that household for the night."
"I just lost the track of time when I was playing with Kasumi." Y/N explained himself, "She did too. We didn't know it was dinner time before her mom came into her room to tell us what time it was. They offered me to stay over for dinner afterwards and I accepted it."
"I see." Grimoire Guthrum hummed in understanding, "The next time you will visit them, make sure your visit will be shorter or at least inform me it will last a few hours."
"Understood." Y/N nodded in understanding as he turned in the direction of his house, "Let's go home. I still need to prepare a few things for school tommorow."
Grimoire Guthrum nodded in his own way, "You don't need to say it to me twice, lad."
"Guma!" Macaron waved his paw at Grimoire Guthrum as if he was saying goodbye to him when Y/N and Guthrum started making his way towards the formers house,
The rabbit nodded in agreement and waved as well, "Usa!"
Y/N could have sworn he noticed Grimoire Guthrum stop dead in the air as if he was taken aback by whatever Macaron and this rabbit had just said to him. Grimoire Guthrum didn't want his user to notice his reaction, unaware it was too late for it now as Y/N already noticed it and quickly returned to what he was doing just a second earlier.
"What did they just say to you?" Y/N asked, glancing at the floating book next to him as he grew curious to learn about it once he saw Guthrum's reaction to it.
"Nothing worth mentioning." Grimoire Guthrum responded, not wanting to tell him that Macaron and the rabbit just invited him to hang out with them the next time he will have some free time.
"If you say so." Y/N stated, with a hint of doubt in his voice which didn't went unnoticed by Guthrum who let out an annoyed sigh, "Looks like you had fun today."
"What makes you think I was having fun with these familiars?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know, "A piece of me was dying whenever the two of them said something to me. I couldn't wait for the time we will return to your household."
"Why didn't you return to it yourself?" Y/N asked Guthrum in return as he pointed out, "I left the window to my room just in case if you wanted to go back to my house. You could have to fly through it if you didn't want to spend your time with those two so much."
"I had my reasons for why I didn't do it." Grimoire Guthrum quickly thought of an answer as he and Y/N reached the L/N household and stopped in front of the entrance to it, "What if you were attacked by a more experienced Witch? I had to be around just in case if it happened. You still are pretty inexperienced in the arts of magic."
Y/N smiled up at Guthrum in an amused manner, shaking his head at him as he pulled out the keys from his pocket and used them to open the doors to his house, "If you say so, Guthrum."
----
I intended to get this chapter done faster, but he writers block I was dealing with in the first half of February kept me away from writing it. Dying Light 2 and Horizon Forbidden West coming out this month didn't help either. I'll try to get the next chapter out this month.
Have you seen the trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2? I absolutely loved it. The artstyle, the atmosphere, the synth music, this trailer had it all! I can't wait for this game and I can't wait to play as Bigby again after so many years. Hopefully this game will be as good as the first one.
