The Explanation
Y/N couldn't remember the last time he'd run home as fast as he did at this very moment as he proceeded to make his way towards his house through the renewed streets of his city, ignoring the muffling which came out of Grimoire Guthrum who was still trapped in his grasp, unable to say anything to his new user. One deep breath was leaving Y/N's lungs after another as he was starting to run out of his breath. He wasn't used to this much running.
A few more questions popped into his mind as he proceeded to make his way through the restored city, as if his mind wasn't already plagued with more questions than he could count. More questions appeared in his mind, because much to his suprise, the streets of his city were filled with the residents of it who were doing their own thing, simply enjoying their day, acting as if the bombings and the destruction of the entire city never happened.
He considered asking some of the people that he passed by about the bombings and the events that followed, but ultimately decided to not go along with it, because he already had one source which was going to help get the all the answers that he wanted. this source being Grimoire Guthrum of course, and he didn't want to risk the other people noticing something strange about a book trapped in his grasp. Grimoire Guthrum's muffling would definitely make it easier for them to notice that he wasn't a regular book.
He glanced to his side and exchanged glances with the said book who was trying to say something to him ever since they left the school together, but Y/N couldn't understand what Guthrum was saying to him, because his voice was muffled. Y/N didn't pay much attention to him and what he was saying to him, anyway, because he knew that Grimoire Guthrum was definitely telling him to free him from his grasp and allow him to float in the air. Y/N wasn't planning to let go off him until they will reach his house for all obvious reasons. He simply didn't want other people to notice a floating book following him throughout the city.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of running, he ran into his neighbourhood, feeling how his lungs were seconds away from hopping out of his chest. His gaze wandered off to the side for a moment when he ran past the first few houses in the neighbourhood. He saw Komachi Takamiya, one of his neighbours when he ran past her household and she noticed him too. She offered him a friendly wave to greet him, like she did everytime, whenever they would pass each other in the city. Y/N just gave her a quick nod of her head and ran past her household, knowing how close he was to seeing the place he missed the most when he was making his way through the ruins of the city.
It was when was his favourite place in all of Earth, his home, came into his view. A huge smile grew on his lips once it appeared in his view. It looked so much better than it did the last time he saw it. It looked exactly like it did before the bombings. He visited it once after he got separated from his classmates, because it was the best and only place that came into his mind after he was left all alone in the ruins and was greeted with nothing but a pile of rubble that used to be his house.
He shook his head when the images of his destroyed house flew through his mind, trying to make them go away, because it didn't matter right now. His house was restored. Just like his school. Just like the rest of this city. This is what mattered to him right now. Finding the answers for what was going on in this city is what mattered to him right now.
He grabbed the handle of the door and pushed the door open. He rushed into his house, making sure to lock the door right after doing so. He leaned against the now closed door to his house, hitting it with the back of his head and let out a deep breath, catching a breath after spending so much time running without a single break. He shook his head, realizing that this is how professional runners must have felt after a very long race.
He set gaze set on the hallway in front of him, noticing the entrance to the living room on his left and the stairs which were leading to the upper floor on his right. He let out another tired sigh as he kicked off his shoes, hearing how his boots let out a loud thud the moment they collided with the floor. He pushed himself into walk and slowly made his way into the living room, because it was the nearest room to him. He considered making his way to his room, but his room was on the upper floor and he'd have to walk up the stairs if he wanted to and he was too exhausted to do so right now.
He looked around the living room the moment he entered it, making his way to the couch. His living room was not much different from a typical living room that can be found in an ordinary house of an ordinary family. He sat down on the couch and smiled to himself at the feeling of his back touching the soft fabric of the couch. After sleeping on the ground since the day the city was bombed, he now felt as if he was in heaven because of how comfortable this couch was compared to the ground.
He leaned back on the couch and let go off Grimoire Guthrum, allowing the talking book to float for the first time since they left his school together. The floating book inhaled and exhaled deeply as he was finally freed from Y/N's grasp and needless to say, Grimoire Guthrum wasn't so pleased with how Y/N was holding him ever since they left the school together and wasn't afraid to voice how displeased he was by it.
"By the heavens!" Were Grimoire Guthrum's first words after Y/N freed him from his grasp, irritation evident in his voice as he floated right in front of his new user face, about a meter away from his face, "I have never been treated in such a manner! I'm a being incalculable and yet I was treated like a common cockroach by someone who I have accepted as my new user!"
"You can't blame me for being cautious." Y/N looked up at the floating book as Grimoire Guthrum lifted himself up in the air, now floating above Y/N's head and in front of the TV that was hanging on the wall in front of the couch, "I didn't want other people to notice a floating book following me throughout the city."
"You didn't have to worry about such a thing happening, because other people wouldn't notice me!" Grimoire Guthrum told Y/N that holding him throughout the road to his house was completely unnecessary, "What you did was unnecessary, because I wouldn't be visible to them. I am not visible to normal people who have no knowledge of magic and are not users of it!"
"What?" Y/N didn't even try to hide suprise in his voice as he responded to Grimoire Guthrum's words, "What do you mean they wouldn't notice you, because they are normal people. I am a normal person that never used magic before, I didn't believe it existed before I stumbled upon you in my school, and yet, I was able to spot you without any problem."
"Because I, Grimoire Guthrum didn't have a user back when you stumbled upon me!" Grimoire Guthrum pointed out, "I became invisible to normal people the second you agreed to become my new user! The only people I am visible to right now are magic users and the people my user wishes them to see me!"
"You couldn't have told me that earlier? Back when we left the school together or when I was running towards my house, until I was out of breath?" Y/N questioned Grimoire Guthrum, "We wouldn't be having this discussion right now if you did."
"I was trying to!" Grimoire Guthrum replied, "But a certain someone, someone I'm looking at this very moment wouldn't allow me to explain it to him, because my voice was muffled, because of the way he was holding me!"
"...Fine. I admit. I did hear your saying something to me when I was running towards my house, but I wasn't paying attention to it, because of how muffled your vocie was and I thought that the other people would notice you floating behind me." Y/N admitted to his fault after a moment of staying silent as he didn't want to argue with Guthrum. He was too tired after everything that happened. If it wasn't for Guthrum promising him to provide all the answers that he wanted, he'd most likely go straight to his room and lay on his bed, "You still could have told me about it before you asked me where would I like you to explain everything to me. Let's agree that both sides are to blame, Guthrum."
"Excuse me? Guthrum?!" Grimoire Guthrum exclaimed as his anger was shifted towards something else, clearly not liking the fact that he wasn't called by his full name as Y/N felt how a small tired grin formed on his lips because of how offended the floating book sounded after he didn't call him by his full name. He chuckled internally at when he imagined the face Grimoire Guthrum would have right now if he could change his expressions on the cover, "My name is Grimoire Guthrum and it is now to abbreviated by the likes of you! I'm the being of utter importance, not some common cockroach! You shall call me by my full and proper name!"
"I know you most likely ain't gonna like this, but I think I'm allowed to call you just Guthrum instead of Grimoire Guthrum." Y/N' said, feeling how his mood cheered up a bit after the last stressful last days, "After all, I am your new user."
Grimoire Guthrum let out a frustated sigh, "This is why I loathe dealing with people."
Y/N rolled his eyes, still grinning slightly. His observation about Grimoire Guthrum having a high opinion about himself was once again proven to be correct. His grin faded from his lips a few seconds later when he heard his stomach grumble. He placed his hand on his stomach, knowing what he should next.
He stood up from the couch, taking his hand off his stomach, "I'll go make myself something to eat. I'll be back in a moment."
"Something to eat?" Grimoire Guthrum asked as he calmed down a bit from the argument he had just with his new user, "Don't you think we have more important matters to take care of?"
"I've been eating nothing but scraps that I found in the ruins ever since the city was bombed, Guthrum. I would like to eat something other than that now that I got the opportunity to do so." Y/N explained to Guthrum why he wanted to make himself something to eat, "Don't worry. It won't take long. I'll make myself something quick."
"Very well." Grimoire Guthrum responded, understanding Y/N's reason, even though he himself didn't have to eat. His explanation to the questions which were plaguing Y/N's mind could wait a bit more, "Should I wait for you here or should I wait go to the other room and wait there for you?"
"You can wait for me in my room." Y/N almost immediately replied. There was no better place for him to hear Guthrum's explanation than his room.
"Where can I find your room?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to know.
"It's on the upper floor. It's the one on the left at the end of the hallway." Y/N explained, "The one on the right is my sisters, or at least it was hers when she was living here."
Grimoire Guthrum turned away from him and made his way to the exit from the living room before floating through it. Guthrum remained silent after hearing from Y/N how to get to his room which must have meant that the book understood the intructions given to him by his new user. Y/N watched the floating book leave the living room and turned away from exit from the said room right after Guthrum disappeared from his view.
It didn't take him long to get to the kitchen. It was just a matter of several seconds. He walked across the living room and walked over to the small step at the end of it. He had no idea why it was there. It was there ever since he and his family moved into this house. He stepped over the small step at the end of the living room and entered the dining room. He instantly set his gaze on the table that could fit max six people standing in the center of the dining room. He walked past the table and walked straight into the kitchen, which was connected to the dining room.
He walked over to the fridge and opened it. He let out a relieved sigh once he saw that all of his food was still in there. Whoever was responsible for restoring this town truly restored everything. Even his food. However, It has not changed the fact that he will have to go shopping tomorrow or the day after tomorrow
He wondered for a moment what to make for himself. An idea popped into his mind shorty after. A simple sandwich would do the job. It's not like he was planning to make himself a big meal. He was planning to save it for tommorow morning. He wasn't playing to stay up for long. He was planning to head straight to bed right after Guthrum's explanation. A few hours of sleep on his bed instead of just some messy floor in the destroyed building was what one of the things he wanted the most at this very moment.
He reached into his fridge and pulled out almost all the ingredients that he needed to make himself a sandwich. His sandwich wasn't going to be anything extraordinary. Just some cheese and ham. He put the ingredients on the counter andwalked over to the breadbox which was on the other side of the counter before opening it. He pulled out two pieces of bread and placed them next to the ingredients for his sandwich. The bread wasn't exactly the freshest, but it was still edible.
Het placed the two pieces of bread that he just took out from the breadbox on the counter, next to the ingredients for his sandwich, before reaching down to one of the drawers underneath him. He opened the drawer and reached into it, pulling out one knife, the one that was the closest to his hand a second later. He closed the drawer, and started to work on his snack, trying to get it done as soon as possible.
He knew that he could take his time if he wanted to. It's not like anyone would walk on him talking to a floating book in his house. He even considered it for a brief second, but ultimately went against it. He barely saw his parents, because they were always too busy with their work and his older sister Claire was out of the picture for most of the time too because started college last year where she was studying to become a doctor. He pretty much had the entire house for himself for most of the time. Leaving alone for most of the time had a few bridge sides, like skipping school whenever he didn't felt like going to it, which happened once or twice a month, mostly on Fridays, was much easier because he didn't have to worry about anyone from his family catching him skipping school in his house.
He bit his lip at the thought of his sister as he proceeed to spread the butter all across the first piece of bread. Despise how much he enjoyed having his house just for himself for most of the time, he actually missed having his sister around. He loved her, despise her annoying him from time to time, but that was what family was for, right? She was his favourite person in the entire world and she always was there for him and took him care of him whenever their parents couldn't because they were too busy with their jobs, before she had to move out because of college.
He smiled when the memory of the last time when Claire visited him during her free time in college flew through his mind. They always managed to how to find a way how to spent their free time together in the way both of them could enjoy it, even though he and his sister were quite different from each other. His h/c hair which he had gotten from their dad to her red hair which she had gotten from their mom, his e/c eyes which he had gotten from their mother and her green eyes which she had gotten from their dad.
One of the things that made him different from sister was the fact that she loved hanging out with the other people in her free time while he preferred to spent his time alone, despise having perfectly good social skills. He of course had some friends back in America, two of them being David Miller and Colin McCreary who moved into the neighbourhood that he used to live in about a year before he and his family moved to Japan. He hit it off with them pretty well, but didn't hang out with them that much. He hang out with them only from time to time, whenever he felt like it.
David and Colin along with a few other friends they made since they moved into his former neighbourhood were saddened by his departure from America and Y/N was a bit saddened to say goodbye to them too. They were still his friends, even though, he didn't hang out that much with them. Fortunely, he managed to stay in touch with them, thanks to the modern technology such as phones or the internet. They often played video games like Team Fortress 2 or Minecraft or Call of Duty together or used their phones to either message each other or call each other.
He took his mind away from those thoughts when he set his gaze down on his now finished sandwich. He put the knife aside, no longer having the need to use it, before putting the leftovers of the ingredients back in the fridge. He picked up the sandwich that he just made for himself from the counter and bit into it. He smiled. It was much better than the scraps he had to live on during the days when his city was nothing but ruins.
No longer waiting to keep the floating book waiting for him in his room, he walked out of the kitchen and started to make his way to his room, making sure take the second bite of his sandwich as he did so. He took the third bite of his snack as he reached the stairs to the upper floor of his house, which were one of the first things he saw when he entered his house several minutes ago. He walked up the stairs and it took him a few seconds to get to the upper floor of his house.
He turned the corner and walked over to the open door to his room which was at the end of the hallway, passing by his parents room and the bathroom, as he did so. He looked over his shoulder at the closed door to the room of his sister and took a quick glance at it before entering his room. He was immediately greeted by the view of his room, his favourite spot in his favourite place in all of Earth, Grimoire Guthrum floating in the middle of it being the first thing he spotted upon entering it.
A smile grew on his lips as he looked around his room. He knew that he was repeating himself at this point, but his room looked exactly the same, like it did before the bombings. His bed was in the corner of his room. A window which was giving him a pretty good view at his neighbourhood or rather the houses that were nearest to his house was right next to his bed. His desk was standing right next to it, with the monitor for his PC standing on top of it. His PC was standing on the floor, on the right side of his desk.
The shelf with all of his video games for PC and Playstation 4 was hanging right above his desk. His collection wasn't anything impressive, he had his collection much bigger than his on the internet, but it was not too small. Good thing his sister was keeping all of their games for Playstation 3 on the shelf in her room, because otherwise he'd have a real problem with keeping all of them on the shelf with the games for PC and Playstation 4. Wardrobe with all of his clothes was standing in front of his bed.
His TV, with his Playstation 4 plugged into it, was hanging on the wall in front of his bed, giving him a good look at it from his bed. The TV in his room wasn't as big as it was in the living room for all obvious reasons, but he didn't mind it. He didn't have any problem with it when he was playing video games on his Playstation or when he was watching movies or TV shows and it was what mattered to him.
His took his gaze off the TV is his room and set it on the familiar picture standing on top of the furniture next to his bed a few seconds later. It was a picture of him and Claire which was taken last year during the medieval roleplaying event which was taking place in their city each year. He was so glad that his sister convinced him to participate in this event with her three years ago. He always had tons of fun participating in it. This event was one of the reasons why he was so excited about the summer break which was nearing with big steps. He was looking forward to participate in the battle of the fictional kingdoms and to reunite with some of the friends he made since he started participating in this event.
The next thing he glanced at was his poster which was hanging on the wall. The poster wasn't anything extraordinary. It was just "SCP" written in the center of it with the straightforward explanation of what those letters meant. He heard about SCP Foundation a long time ago, but didn't really gave it a chance for quite a while, until out of boredom, decided to watch the explanation video of the basic stuff about it on YouTube. He was immediately hooked and began researching information about it shorty after. It really amazed him how creative people could get when coming up with new SCP's.
His personal favourite SCP was SCP-049. He knew that he didn't really stand out among the other people who enjoy SCP with this choice, but the mystery surrounding him was just so interesting to him and it was the first SCP he had read about after listening to the explanation of the basic information about SCP on Youtube.
He lifted his hand up to his chin and rubbed it when he set his eyes on the the book he had gotten on his birthday last year which was laying on his desk, reminding himself of something, or rather the people from who gave him this book. His two cousins from his Japanese side of the family, the twins, Koutarou and Kaede Kobayashi would be moving in to live with him at the end of summer, because they would be transfering into his school for the next term. He didn't mind them moving in to live with him, because he liked his cousins and enjoyed spending his time with them whenever he visited them for his own reasons or they visited him for their own reasons.
He wasn't worried about Kaede fitting in her new school. She never had much trouble with fitting in the new environment, despise being pretty quiet towards new people. It always took her about a week to open up to the new people. His female cousin was an absolute bookworm and loved spending her free time with her nose burried in one of her books. Her chess playing skills were pretty impressive too. He was certain that many people would definitely impressed by them if she ever got the chance to show them off.
His other cousin Koutarou was a bit different story, because Koutarou, while he may have been very intelligent and Y/N wouldn't be suprised if he ended up being one of the top students in his school, was quite the troublemaker to say the least. He wouldn't be suprised if his male cousin got along with this one pyjama wearing girl that invaded his school not that long ago with her pyjama wearing goons. Rinon was her name, or at least he thought it was her name. He wasn't exactly sure.
The last thing in his room he shifted his gaze towards to was his karaoke equipment. He and his sister used to play with it a lot when they were younger but they just stopped playing with it as the time passed and they got older. Now it was just gathering dust in the corner of his room. He knew he could sell it on the internet or throw it away, but he always backed away from those ideas whenever either of them crossed his mind. The memories of the good times he and his sister had with this thing was stopping him from doing so, plus his sister would probably kill him if she found out that he got rid of it.
"There you are, lad." Grimoire Guthrum said, turning around to look at his new user as Y/N shifted his gaze from his karaoke equipment to the talking book. He walked over to his bed as Guthrum asked him, "Shall I begin my explanation now or is there something else you would like to do before it?"
Y/N sat down on his bed and took a bite of his sandwich before nodding his head, "My desire to know to find out what is going on in this city is why I agreed to become your new user in the first place. Let's begin."
-----
Y/N stared at the floating book in front of him as Grimoire Guthrum gave him a lengthy answer to every question which was plaguing his mind ever since he stumbled upon the talking book in his school, granting him the answers he had promised to grant him if he became his new user. It was quite a lot to take in, but his tired mind managed to understand most of the things which Guthrum had just told him about.
Now he just had to let his mind process everything he just found about from Grimoire Guthrum. A talking book may have been floating in his room at this very moment above his head, but it didn't change the fact that just yesterday, the thought of magic and eveything related to it, like witches or mages, being real was surreal to him.
"....Okay..." He rubbed his hands against his forehead, his mind trying to process everything he had just heard from Grimoire Guthrum. The fact that he was tired after everything that recently happened wasn't making it any easier for him, "...Let me put it as simply as possible. I want to know if understood everything correctly. Magic is real which means that everything related to it like witches, warlocks and mages is real too."
Grimoire Guthrum moved up and down and Y/N took it for nodding, "Yes."
"There are two factions of witches." Y/N continued, wanting to be sure if he understood everything he was told by Grimoire Guthrum correctly. He raised one finger in the air, "Tower Witches" He raised the second finger in the air, "Workshop Witches." He paused for a moment, waiting for Guthrum to correct him if he got the names wrong. When the floating book remained silent, he continued, "Tower Witches use their magic for their own purposes and they must have been the ones behind the destruction of the city and Workshop Witches are trained to stop the evil events performed by them and they must have been the ones that restored the entire city back to the way it was."
"Pretty much, yes." Grimoire Guthrum confirmed it.
Y/N leaned back against the bed frame after receiving the confirmation from the floating book in front of him. He rested his head on his hand as letting his mind process everything he had learned today, letting out a short chuckle. At least he now knew how the characters from the franchises which were related to supernatural things felt whenever they discovered something new they have never heard of before.
"Is everything alright, lad?" Grimoire Guthrum asked as Y/N remained unresponsive for the next few moments, "I can see something going on with you."
"I'm fine." Y/N shook his head, his hands clasped together, "I just feel like I'm watching Supernatural again and I'm in the middle of the episode when a witch is the thing that Sam and Dean are hunting for or in the middle of the episode where Rowena appears."
"Supernatural?" Grimoire Guthrum questioned as he never had a chance to hear about this title before whatever it was.
"A TV show I used to watch with my older sister Claire back when she was living here. She's a huge fan of this show ever since she was twelve and made me watch it with her about two years ago." Y/N explained, waving it off because it wasn't important matter right now, "But that's not important right now, Guthrum..."
"Guthrum?" Grimoire Guthrum cut him off, once again offended by his new user not referring to him by his full name, "What did I tell you about using my full and proper name?"
"You'll have to get used to me calling you Guthrum whether you like it or not. It will be easier for both of us... Okay, for me mostly." Y/N admitted as Grimoire Guthrum let an annoyed sigh once he heard the last part, "Now, since I already accepted your power when I found you, how about you tell me more about spells you can perform and which one is the best one to start from, because we have't covered this topic, yet."
"Very well but I shall warn you, lad. Mastering my abilities won't be an easy task, because as you have already mentioned to me, have never used magic before or had any knowledge of it before encountering me." Grimoire Guthrum replied to which Y/N nodded in understanding, "The first spell I'm capable of doing the best one to start from is known as Dark Blast..."
Grimoire Guthrum begun the explanation of the spells that he was capable of doing and Y/N made sure to listen to everything he had to say to him very carefully and it wasn't an easy task, because, even though Grimoire Guthrum had to explain only eight spells, the explanation turned out to be quite a long one, almost as long as the previous one, because the floating book explained them in the tiniest bit of detail, making the sentences as long as possible. Y/N was honestly suprised he didn't get lost in the middle of the explanation as many people would certainly do.
The new user of Grimoire Guthrum kept his gaze upwards on the floating book in front of him as he made mental notes of the spells that the floating talking book was capable of doing and how they were called, because he as the new user of Grimoire Guthrum, definitely would have to learn them sometime in the near future.
The first spell Grimoire Guthrum explained to him was known as the Dark Blast which as Grimoire Guthrum already mentioned was the best one to start from because it was the easiest one to learn among the spells that Y/N as his new user will have to learn. This spell made Grimoire Guthrum and the person capable of doing it capable of sending out a magic projectile, which was followed by a continuous array of smaller magic missiles which may have not been powerful, but fast. The last thing he learned about this spell is the fact that the person using it is able to move around while doing this spell, making it easy for them to avoid the attacks of their enemies.
The second spell that Y/N found out about was know as Dark Lance. This spell allowed the person capable of doing it to form a magic lance around them, with eight lances being the maximum amount of lances the said person is capable of creating at the same time, and shooting it with high speed towards their opponent. Y/N learned that this spell had one major downside. This downside being the fact that forming all eight lances was taking quite some time and it would leave the person doing it vulnerable position, giving their opponent a perfect opportunity to strike.
Dark Hand was the name that pretty much spoke for itself and Y/N immediately knew that it would be most likely be some sort of large hand and his assumptions quickly turned out to be correct. The person capable of doing this spell was able to form a large hand above them, with five being the most amount of hands that the said person was able of creating at the same time. This spell had limited range and was only useful when the opponents were standing right in front of the person doing it, but it dealt the most damage out of any spells if used correctly. The main downside of this spell was the same as Dark Lance's. Creating all five hands was taking sometime and it would leave the person doing it in a vulnerable position.
The person capable of doing the fourth spell, this spell being Dark Phantasm was able to send forth a rapid otherworldly crimson facsimile of themselves in a straight line, making them invincible and striking a single opponent in front of them, before the said opponent would even have time to react, but if the person would wait some time instead of attacking right away, a ring would appear around them, growing constantly bigger with then in the center. When released, each enemy within the border of the ring would be attacked by their copy, jumping from one enemy to another.
When used, the fifth spell, Dark Gluttony released a short impulse in the form of four barriers around the person or book in Grimoire Guthrum's case capable of doing it, which repeled any magic send by their opponent in the near proximity, which then can harm the said opponent.
Dark Wall was another name that spoke for itself and Y/N already knew what this spell was doing, before even hearing Grimoire Guthrum's explanation about it. This spell was able to create a magical barricade that blocks opponents spells for a short period of time. It was especially useful in the situations when the person of capable of doing it was attacked by a powerful spell send at them by their opponents.
When casted, the seventh spell, Dark Execution summoned magical spears from the ground to impale the opponents of the person summoning them, making them unable to do anything if they end up impaled by one of the spears. At first, the person capable of doing this spell is able to do only one line of spears in front of them, but when mastered enough, the spell can create more lines of spears, practically filling the entire area around the person doing it in them.
The last spell that Y/N learned about from Grimoire Guthrum, and the last spell that Grimoire Guthrum was able of doing was known as Dark Whirlwind. He learned that the people capable of doing this spell are able to form from one to four spinning blades around them and that it becomes quite handy in the situations when the person capable of doing it is surrounded by their opponents, because anyone would step away from the person that has four blades spinning around them.
"...Those are all the spells that I am capable of casting and the spells you, as my new user, will have to learn in the near future." Grimoire Guthrum said once he finished his explanation, "Did you understood everything correctly or should I explain everything to you again?"
"No." Y/N shook his head, "You don't need to explain everything to me again. I managed to understand everything that you just said to me about your spells."
"Are you sure?" Grimoire Guthrum wanted to be sure, "You seemed to be seconds away from falling asleep at one point of my explanation. I may have been asleep for long, but I am still able to see very well."
Y/N gave him an assuring nod, "Yes. I'm sure."
"Very well." Grimoire Guthrum replied, still having second thoughts about it. He will find out if Y/N understood everything about his spells once they will begin their training.
"Is that everything?" Y/N wanted to know. He was satisfied with the answers he had gotten from Grimoire Guthrum as he got what he so desperately wanted when the city was restored earlier that day, but there could have been more things that he needed to learn about from the talking book, "Or is there something else that I need to know about?"
"No." Grimoire Guthrum responded, "I believe I told all the important information about the world that you became a part of after you agreed to become my new user."
"Alright." Y/N nodded his head to that. He got up from his bed, his gaze not leaving the floating book above him. He bowed to him, feeling the need to thank him for granting him the answers he wanted so much ever since he saw how his city was restored, "Thank you for telling me all about this, Guthrum. I'm grateful for it."
"There's no need to thank me for it, lad." Grimoire Guthrum replied, deciding to not make a comment about Y/N not using his full name this time, because his new user was thanking him for something, "I merely fullfiled my part of the deal."
Y/N lifted his head up, looking up at Guthrum once again. With this matter settled, there was one more thing for him left to do today, "...Now, with this being done, I'm going to go to sleep if you don't mind."
"Are you sure you want to go sleep now?" Grimoire Guthrum questioned as he turned around to look at the window to take a look at the sun which was still shining brightly at the horizon. Y/N still had at least a few hours left before the sunset, "You still have a few hours left before the sunset."
"I know." Y/N nodded his head to that. He still had a few hours of day left, but it didn't matter to him, "It doesn't change the fact that I can't remember the last time when I was so exhausted. Sleeping on the ground of the ruined buildings wasn't so comfortable and I wasn't able to get much sleep because of that. At least you won't have to worry about feeling exhausted for a long time, because you were asleep for...I don't even know for how long."
"I never have to worry about feeling exhausted, because I don't need to sleep." Grimoire Guthrum explained.
Y/N titled his head to the side, confusion forming on his facial features, "You don't need to sleep? Weren't you asleep when I found you? You did say you were awoken from your slumber right after you noticed me staring at you back in my school."
"I'm pretty sure I was put to this sleep by third parties many years ago." Grimoire Guthrum replied, still keeping himself for mentioning for how long he was asleep, because he still couldn't recall it, "I don't need to sleep and I don't do it very often, and more importantly I definitely wouldn't put myself to sleep this long."
"Do you remember who put you to sleep for this long?" Y/N questioned out of curiosity, his confusion fading away from his facial features.
Grimoire Guthrum didn't answer to this question right away, because he couldn't find the answer to it. He was left without an answer, just like when his new user asked him for how long he was asleep. It was when he realized that he had no memory of this event. It was when he realized that he couldn't remember a lot of stuff about his life before Y/N found him in the office of the chairwoman of his school.
"You know what? Perharps your idea about going to sleep early is not a bad one." Grimoire Guthrum avoided to answer to Y/N's question and changed the topic of the conversation they were having right now, "We'll be starting your training tommorow and I don't want my new user to be too exhausted to do anything during it."
"Glad we agree on this part, Guthrum." Y/N replied as started to make his way towards the exit from his room. Grimoire Guthrum was about to make a comment on him once again not referring to him by his full name, but Y/N stopped him from doing so as he spoke to him again, "You know what, Guthrum? You should do a trip around my house when I'll be asleep."
"A trip around your house?" Grimoire Guthum asked, wanting to be sure if he didn't misheard it as Y/N reached the exit from his room and was about to walk through it.
"Yes." Y/N nodded his head as exited his room, walking into the hallway. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked over his shoulder at the floating book in his room, "You'll be living in this house from now on, Guthrum. You may as well get to know your new place to live."
Grimoire Guthrum stayed silent, considering Y/N's suggestion as Y/N pushed himself into walk again. He reached his destination in a few seconds. He stopped in front of the door to the bathroom and pushed it open, his shower being the first thing he spotted upon entering it. He walked over to the mirror an stopped in front of it, taking a look at his face for the first time since the bombings. He eyed himself carefully. He looked exactly like he excepted.
The clothes he had on at this moment, which happened to his school uniform were all flithy. It did not suprised him. Sleeping on the ground wasn't exactly the best way of keeping his school uniform clean. He will have to throw it into the washing machine and wash it as soon as possible, probably right now.
He put his hand on his cheek and ran his hand through it, a few inches under his right eye when he noticed that he had purple dark shadows underneath both of his e/c eyes. He was not suprised to see them either. After all, he did told Guthrum that he didn't got much sleep in the past few days.
He lifted his hand up to his hair and ran his hand through it. His h/c hair was messy and greasy. It clearly was in a need of washing. Just like the rest of his body. He will take a bath which was something he certainly needed tommorow. Right now, he just wanted to prepare himself for the bed. He should start by taking his dirty school uniform off.
It was exactly what he did after eyeing himself in the mirror. He took off most of his clothes and threw them all into the washing machine, leaving himself only in his underwear. He considered turning the washing machine on and ultimately went along with it. It was just a matter of time, before his washing machine was doing it's job, washing all the clothes inside of it at this moment.
He walked out of the bathroom, leaving the door open to make it easier for Guthrum to float into this room, if he decided to take a trip around his house, just like he had suggested to him before walking out of his room. He quickly got his answer to this question when he saw the door to his sister room open. He stopped between it and his room and glanced into it. He saw Guthrum inside. The floating book couldn't see his new user staring at him, because he was too busy staring at the poster of Claire's beloved TV show, this show being Supernatural, the one his new user had mentioned to him.
Y/N smiled to himself at the view of the floating book moving across his sister's room, before turning away from his sister room. He walked into his room shorty after and quickly changed into the clothes that he usually wore around the house. The clothesthat he wore around his house and to sleep weren't anything extraordinary. It was just a plain blue shirt with some strange logo in the center of it with and black shorts.
He lay down on his bed right after putting the clothes on himself. He reached for his duvet and covered his entire body with it. He felt how his smile immediately widened after the back of his head touched his pillow, because of how comfortable he felt at this moment. He closed his eyes and started to slowly drift into sleep, hoping to fall asleep as soon as possible.
Grimoire Guthrum returned to Y/N's room after he was done with the trip around his house, which lasted about thirty minutes, or something close to that. The talking book stopped in front of Y/N's bed and looked down at the boy who was already sleeping at this point, his chest rising up and down, quiet breaths leaving his lungs. His new user must have really been as exhausted as he claimed to be if he fell asleep so quickly.
The floating book started to wonder about one thing as he continued to stare at the boy who was sleeping comfortably on his bed.
Did he made the right choice by letting him become his new user?
It was one the few times when Grimoire Guthrum couldn't find the answer to the question, and this time it wasn't caused by his lack of memory of a certain event. It was still too early for him to determine if he made the right choice by accepting Y/N as his new user. They haven't started their training, yet.
He will have to wait and see.

Sorry for not updating this story for almost two months. I wanted to get this chapter done sooner, but my The Walking Dead and Total Drama crossover and Assassination Classroom story were keeping me busy.
This chapter turned out to be longer than I excepted. I thought it was going to be 4,000 words max when I started writing it, not over 8,000. The next chapter should come out sooner. It will be about Y/N starting his training and his journey to become a warlock with Grimoire Guthrum being his teacher.
