Prologue
"I just worry.."
♢ ♢
The kitchen was warm as I slumped into the chair, an ongoing debate unfolding before me. Snape paced about. "If it wasn't for Harry and Olivia, we wouldn't even know Voldemort was back!" Sirius snapped. "He's not a...child, Molly"
Molly threw her towel on the table. "He's not an adult either!" She retorted. "Neither of them are!"
Snape stood up straight. "Yes, but I have chosen to tell, Olivia" He explained.
She threw Snape a dirty look as I glanced between all the adults sat in the kitchen. "He's not James, and she's not Tyran!" She snapped again.
"He's not your son" Sirius said, looking up at her as she stirred the pot.
Molly scoffed. "He's as good as!"
I nodded, "She has a point"
She smiled at me, "Who else has he got?" She snapped, looking back at Sirius.
"He's got me" Sirius smirked.
Snape threw himself onto the table, his arms spread, propping him up. "How touchingly paternal, Black. Perhaps Potter will grow up and become a felon, just like his Godfather" He growled.
Sirius sat up straighter, dismissing Snape. "Now you stay out of this, Snivellus. Perhaps Olivia, will grow up to be a Death Eater, just like you!"
My heart stopped. I already was..No one knew, if they did, they'd all leave me..
It was another painful reminder of the treachery I was to commit this year. I bobbed my head down slightly.
"I don't care what Dumbledore says about your, supposed reformation. I know better!" Sirius snapped, standing up with a creak of the chair.
"Then why don't you tell him?" Snape challenged.
Sirius sighed, sitting back down. "Because it would be unfair on Olivia.." They continued to mutter as if I wasn't there before the meeting concluded.
"Will you be having tea before you leave?" Molly asked, a big smile on her face.
Opening my mouth to speak, Snape interrupted. "We will be going now, there isn't time to stay and play head of the house" He barked. "Come on, Olivia" He ordered, rushing towards the door, swinging it open and crossing the threshold.
Slowly, I waddled after him, looking up the stairs and seeing Harry, Hermione and Ron running down as I walked down the corridor. "Olivia..." Harry started, attempting to race towards me.
"I-I have to go, sorry" I rambled, quickly closing the door behind me as I left.
Harry's face held confusion and a stain of hurt as I avoided him and followed Snape. This year was going to be harder than I thought..
♢ ♢
The large house that was The Malfoy Manor grew and grew until suddenly, we were at the door, a loud knock from Snape. Slowly, and with a creak, the door opened the small house elf opening it and beckoning us in. From around the corner, Narcissa Malfoy appeared, a faint smile on her face. "Welcome back, Olivia, Severus" She smiled as Draco appeared, following closely behind.
I nodded, smiling awkwardly as I looked over at Draco who too, was looking at me. Our eyes met briefly before I looked away.
"Narcissa" Snape said, his voice the usual monotone.
Her hands were, as usual, clasped together as she spoke again. "I expect you'll be leaving for Hogwarts soon.." She said.
He nodded. "After I speak to Lucius, I'm afraid I shall" He explained.
"Well, he's in his study, I'll take you to him if you please" She nodded, bowing slightly.
"That would be ideal" He spoke, face blank.
She nodded again. "Very well, Draco, take Olivia to her room" She ordered.
Draco nodded and gestured for me to follow him, I obeyed. We walked up to my room in silence, neither daring speak. As we entered my room, Draco finally broke the silence. "How you been?.." He asked quietly.
With a shrug, I replied. "Fine, I guess..." I stroked the bed sheet before looking around. "I haven't exactly missed this place though.." I admitted.
He looked down, "Yeah.." Hurt was apparent in his voice.
"Wait, no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, Draco" I stumbled as I realized how I must've sounded.
He shook his head. "No, I knew what you meant. After all, who'd want to be stuck here, certainly not my first choice" He sighed.
We both stood opposite each other, heads handing low. Things had changed between us, there was an air that I hadn't felt with him before. Slowly, I placed my hand on his chest and rested my forehead on his. "Don't pull away from me.." He said, placing his hand over mine. "Please.." He begged causing me to sigh and pull away from his grip.
"Draco, I can't promise.." I started.
He shook his head. "No, of course you can't.." His voice exposed the hurt I had caused. It was clear I had hurt him, but there was something else, something he wasn't telling me. "Just...try" He pleaded, gathering speed as he walked over to me, hand on my cheek.
I nodded as he caressed my cheek. "For you...anything.." We stayed like that for a while.
The rest of the week consisted of spending most of my time in the library, looking out of the window or sitting in the garden under the large tree they had. Draco was often busy with himself and so I only saw him during and after dinner when we retired to mine, or his, room. We had been alternating between rooms. Sometimes we would stay in mine and sometimes his. Despite this, we seemed to be drifting. I could feel myself pulling away, I wanted to protect him, keep him out of everything. I needed to...

"What is she doing here?" Pansy snarled as she opened the door to the compartment, her nose crinkled.
I ignored her, continuing to stare out of the window. "She's with me, problem?" Draco spat from the side of me. Pansy grunted before she slammed the door. "You alright?" Draco asked, squeezing my hand.
I looked at him, drawing my eyes from the racing countryside. "Yeah, just tired..." I admitted with a small yawn.
He chuckled. "Not sleep much last night?" He smirked.
Playfully, I slapped his shoulder. "Shut up.." He continued to smirk. "But no, I didn't.."
His smirk turned into a small smile. "Sleep then, I'll wake you later.." He offered.
I nodded, resting my head on him, slowly letting my eyes flutter to a close.
♢
"Wake up..Oli..." Draco nudged me.
I woke with a small grunt as I sat upright, looking out of the window, seeing the setting sun.
"We'll be there in about half an hour" He smiled as I looked at him and nodded. "Here, I got you some of Bertie Botts every flavor beans.." He smiled, passing me them.
"Gee, thanks" I chuckled. We chatted quietly before the compartment door opened again, showing Crabbe and Goyle, two loyal followers of Draco.
"Think you'll be Slytherin Prefect?" Crabbe asked with an excited grin.
Draco sat back, hands resting on the table. "Of course, who else could win over me?" He asked, voice filled with confidence.
I raised my brow. Mimicking him. He turned and looked at me. "What?"
I chuckled and shook my head. "So full of yourself, Malfoy"
"Well, what's a little confidence between friends" He smirked. "Or are we more than friends, Wales?" He smirked harder.
Rolling my eyes, I returned to my original position, turning my body to look out of the window for the remainder of the journey.
♢ ♢
We all got off the train, Draco ordering me to stay close to him as he raced ahead, towards a group of 3 people. As we approached them, I realized it was Harry, Ron and Hermione. "Draco-" I started to hiss but he cut me off, shouting at Harry.
"I'm surprised the Ministry's still letting you walk around free, Potter" He snapped as Hermione shuffled out of the way. "You better enjoy it while you can" He smirked, one hand cockily in his pocket, the other on a copy of the Daily Prophet. "I expect there's a cell in Azkaban, with your name on it!" Draco snarled, getting in Harry's face. Harry lurched forward in an attempt to grab Draco but Ron stopped him.
Draco ducked back, using his free arm to move me away. "See, what did I tell you, a nutter!" He growled, readjusting his jacket.
"Stay away from me!" Harry yelled.
"Draco," I whined, grabbing onto his arm. "Did you really have to?"
He looked at me. "Oli, he's dangerous" He stated. "I don't want you near him this year, but-"
"-But I have to..Don't you think us will jeopardize that?" I questioned.
He shrugged and sighed. "Not our problem"
"No but if I don't deliver the Dark Lord will kill me, then it's my problem, Malfoy" I snapped, rushing to reach Draco's speed.
He stopped and looked at me. "Yeah, yeah.." He looked down. "I'm sorry.." He sighed.
"It's just, look at how he reacted..What if he does it to you?" he asked.
I shook my head. "He won't.."
He placed his hand at the back of my head, stroking my hair slightly. "I just-I don't want you near him if you can help it, I worry.." He admitted.
