Chapter 6
"She's alright, I suppose"

"Ah, it's good to see you, Miss Wales, please, take a seat" Umbridge ordered. "Care for some tea?" She asked, holding her porcelain teapot.
Shaking my head, I sat down, putting my bag down on the floor. "I'm fine thanks, I don't like tea"
"Oh, is that so?" She asked as the sound of the tea hitting the cup rattled around. "Why not?"
"I find it too...Strong" I muttered and glanced at her as she sipped it. "A bit like some peoples uninformed opinions.."
She giggled. "Well, how about coffee?"
I shook my head again. "Too bitter"
Another giggle escaped her lips, "Anywho, for the next two weeks you'll be doing me some lines for an hour" She explained causing me to reach into my bag for my quill.
As she stood up, she grabbed a small piece of parchment and placed it in front of me. "I want you to write, 'I am blinded by hate' until the our is up" She smiled and giggled.
My brows furrowed together as I thought about it. How was I blinded by hate? If anyone was it was her. Despite the conflict in my head, I began scribbling.
Not half way through, my quill broke, the nib snapping right off. Glancing up at Umbridge, she smiled. "Problem?"
"My quill broke.."
With a giggle she picked one up off her desk, almost as if she was expecting it. Another giggle escaped as she passed me it. "A rather special one of mine" She smiled as we exchanged quills. "You can have this one back at the end"
With a slow nod, I agreed and continued writing again. I wrote 3 more lines and was half way through the next one when I felt a burning pain in my left hand. Looking over at it, I dropped my quill in shock, seeing 'I am blinded by hate' carved into my hand. Just like in that dream I had last year...
"What the Hell is this!?" I snapped. "You can't do this!" I growled and arose from my seat with a face drenched in hate.
She giggled, walking around to the table where I was stood. "Actually, I can"
With a slow shaking head, I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder. "No, you can't" I hissed before throwing the door open and shutting it with a slam.
Panting as I ran down the hall, I looked at my watch that arrived in the post earlier that week, Narcissa sent it, it was silver and rather lavish and expensive looking. Seeing that I had only done half an hour of my detention, I raced down to the dungeons and ran straight to Snape's office.
I hadn't realize that ever since Silus was murdered, I had gone to Snape about most things. He was always my go to, even if he never really spoke to me. Still, I felt like he didn't care, but I always needed him, he was, after all, the only parental figure left in my life.
Frantically, I banged on the door, never resting. "Come in!" He shouted, agitation clear in his voice. As I burst through the door I saw Snape sat in his chair as usual, but this time, someone else was sat in the chair across the table. "Olivia?" His brow raised but his voice stayed emotionless.
The person sat in front of him twisted around to see me. "Draco? Snape?" I glanced between the pair. "Am I interrupting?" I asked breathlessly.
Snape shook his head, "You seem to be in a hurry, is everything okay?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No, it's not actually. Umbridge, she's-- Well-Um-" I began stuttering, not knowing when to start.
Draco immediately stood up seeing my distress and led me over to the chair he was previously sat at. "Start from the beginning" Snape mumbled.
"Well, I had my first detention tonight with Umbridge, she was making me do lines for an hour. I was about half way through and my quill snapped. She gave me one of hers and said it required no ink--"
Glancing between the two, I saw confusion flash onto Draco's face. "No ink?"
Snape nodded knowingly. "A black quill. It uses the blood of the person using it to write. It will heal and then re-open when you next write.." He caressed his chin as he inspected my hand.
"I am blinded by hate...What's that supposed to mean?" Draco inquired.
Snape grumbled something under his breath before answering. "The Ministry is under the impression that you and Harry only claim that he's back because you hate the Ministry..."
"Where would they get that from?!" I growled.
Draco placed a hand on my shoulder and it felt weird. Now that we couldn't be together around Hogwarts, we'd barely have chance to be affectionate towards each other. I wasn't used to it anymore.
Snape sighed. "I don't know, I shall inform Professor McGonagall and see what she can do, but other than that, there's nothing I can do."
"Can't you heal it for me?" I asked.
He shook his head. "No, this was made by the Ministry specifically for this, it's well thought out, I don't properly understand the concepts of the magic.." He explained causing me to let out a rather loud sigh.
"I should go then, see if I can ice it or something.." He nodded.
"Mr Malfoy, we shall talk more later." Snape said as we all gathered around the door. Draco nodded and then Snape pushed us out and slammed the door shut behind us.
We walked in silence til we reached the corridor connecting the Potions classroom with the corridor to the Slytherin common room. "Night then" I smiled as we both came to a stop.
He grinned and smirked. "Night, thanks for walking me to my common room" We both chuckled.
"Well, why not, it's on my way" We both laughed again until he placed his hand on my cheek and began to stroke it.
We stayed like that for a few seconds before he pulled me in closer for a kiss. His lips brushed mine before they locked, I felt the jolt of electricity again, just like I used to. Pulling away, he rested his head on mine with a sigh. "I wish we could be like this all the time.." I admitted.
He nodded as he pulled away. "I know, me too, but it's better for you.." He smiled.
"Are you trying out for the Slytherin team this year?" I asked.
He nodded and smiled. "Yeah, of course" I chuckled as he continued. "Are you?"
"Well, not for Slytherin but yeah," We both laughed again, our smiles reflecting in our eyes. "I figured it'd be easier for me to get to Harry, ya know.." I admitted quietly.
There was an uncomfortable silence that blanketed us after that. It always happened whenever we spoke about my task, it was as if Draco wanted to know how I was doing, but also didn't, it was confusing and frustrating for me. "How far are you?.." He asked.
Shaking my head with an exasperated sigh, I replied. "I haven't written to him yet, your mother sent me an owl. It had a watch in it and reminded me to write to her. I suppose she's worried.."
He nodded and starred at the ground. "Yeah, she cares about you, she says she was close to your father when they went to school, and after actually. I think she was part of the reason he joined..Well, you-know-who..." He explained.
Smiling slightly at the talk of my father, I nodded. "Yeah, she's lovely, your mother.."
He chuckled. "She's alright I suppose"
"Shut up, you love her really, I've seen how you protect her" I smirked and punched his shoulder playfully.
"Whatever" He snarled, pretending to be mad but he wasn't, I could see the smirk on his face. "Anyway, you need to go"
"Yeah, night" I smiled and turned to walk away before he called back out.
"Oli!"
Twisting around, I looked at him. "Your hair looks messy.." He chuckled.
Rolling my eyes, I shook my head and continued walking.
Snape showed the most concern I've ever seen from him, but even still, his facial expression never changed. What did I interrupt though?
I couldn't think about that, the Quidditch trails were next week and I was planning on trying out for them as chaser. But, for now, I had to write to Lucius and you-know-who, they were getting impatient, but I didn't know what to tell them..
