Chapter 11

"She's right, Fudge already fears an army that doesn't exist, so lets give him something to really be scared of!"

Snape slammed the door of his office. "Open the letter" He ordered.

I nodded slowly and began unsealing the letter, fearing what it would say. Taking in a deep breath, I began reading out loud,

"Dear Olivia,

I have to say the plan is a little lacking, and the Dark Lord is expecting you to have made much progress when you meet next, if not the consequences may be dire.

We are expecting you to report back every week,

Signed,

Lucius Malfoy"

I let out the large breath that I had been holding in, "He doesn't sound impressed..."

"I would be worried if he did" Snape admitted as he reached for his quill. "Now, do you want to right the next letter or should I?" Snape grumbled.

I shook my head, "I haven't got anything, I've barely seen him this week, Quidditch tryout's have been cancelled, I have no other way!" I explained frantically.

Snape waited a second, "Does he trust you?"

"Yes, but--"

"Then that is all we must explain" Snape said with his usual tone. He began scribbling and while he did, I looked around the office, looking at the dusty sofa that lay, tucked away in the corner of the room.

I sighed, "Why didn't Dumbledore let Trelawney go?"

Snape shook his head, "It's not important"

"I want to know" I pestered him causing him to sigh and throw his quill down.

"She foretold a prophecy, one that the Dark Lord wants, if she left Dumbledore wouldn't be able to protect her" Snape explained, his hair falling beside his face. "But, it doesn't matter to you, now, you should go while I compose this letter and send it off" He said, his voice hurried.

I nodded and grabbed my bag from on the floor, placing Narcissa's letter on his desk. "She sent me that," I announced finally before I walked away from his desk, closing the door with a bang.

Snape's POV

I watched with emotionless eyes as she threw the letter on the desk, "She sent m that," She said before she closed the door behind her, not saying another word.

I sighed, clasping my hands in front of me as I picked up the letter, reading through it. I noticed the immediate similarities to the one she sent to me,

Dear Severus,

I fear Olivia may be struggling, fighting a losing battle. You must give her some hope, Severus, I implore you to watch her and guide her closely. I will not live to see her come to the same fate her parents did.

Yours truly,

Narcissa Malfoy

Olivia's POV

"Foul, evil old Gargoyle!" Hermione cursed as the four of us sat around the fire, the radio playing quietly.

"We're not learning how to defend ourselves, we're not learning how to pass our O.W.Ls! She's taking over the entire school!" Hermione paced around the common room as we all watched. I sat on the floor as she vented.

Fudge's voice grumbled on the radio as Harry turned it up, I stood up to hear what it said, Furthermore, we convincing evidence that the disappearances are the work of notorious criminal and mass murdered Sirius Black!" We sighed.

"Back to blaming him, are they? Idiocy is what it is" I grumbled as I threw myself back onto the floor.

There was a small crackle from the fire before we heard, "Harry!" It was a harsh voice as everyone gathered around the fire. Sirius appearing in the flames.

"Sirius, what're you doing here?" Harry asked in shock.

Sirius smirked, "Answering your letter, you said you were worried about Umbridge, what is she doing? Training you to kill half breeds?" Sirius asked, half jokingly.

Harry shook his head, "Sirius, she's not letting us use magic at all!"

Sirius sighed, "Oh I'm not surprised, latest intelligence says that Fudge doesn't want you trained in combat" He explained.

Ron let out a chuckle, "What, does he think we're raising some sort of wizard army?"

Sirius nodded, "That's exactly what he thinks. That Dumbledore is ascending his own forces to take on the ministry,"

"That's ridiculous!" I spat.

Sirius nodded again, "He's becoming more paranoid by the day. The others, wouldn't want me telling you this but things aren't going at all well with the order. Fudge is blocking the truth at every corner and these...disappearances are just how it started last time..." He looked around, "Voldemort is on the move!" He whispered harshly.

The Dark Mark imprinted on my arm lurched at the mention of his name. Hungry for just a taste of evil. Hermione's breathing sped up, as did my own. I still couldn't comprehend that I had been assigned a side already, much less that it was already decided for me at birth. "Well what can we do?" Harry asked until we heard the slamming of a door.

"Someone's coming, I'm sorry I can't be of much assistance, but for now at least, it looks like you're on your own.." He explained. I sighed, this was what Voldemort wanted, he wanted Harry on his own so I could get to him.

My mind was conflicted, my father was assigned to the Death Eaters side but my mother was assigned to the Orders side until my father left the Death Eaters they were both fighting each other. I knew which side was the right side, the side of justice and I knew which side was the wrong side, the side of evil. For now, evil seemed to be winning and I was contributing to it.

We all stared into the fire until Sirius had gone, we stood up, following Hermione as she peered out of the window, watching as the storm battered the window, the lightening exposing the gusts of winds effect. "He really is out there, isn't he?" Hermione asked quietly. "We've got to be able to defend ourselves, and if Umbridge refuses to teach us how then we need someone who will..."

Hermione spun around and looked at Harry and I. "You two, you saw him, you fought him and you're arguably the two most equipped!"

I choked out a breath, "What? You're joking, right?"

Harry nodded, "She's right, this is--We can't! You want us to raise Dumbledore's own army?"

"Yes," Hermione nodded,

"Hold on there, Hermione, Fudge already thinks he's raising one, what if we get caught?" Ron muttered.

Hermione sighed, her hands flopping at her side. I shook my head, this could be my one chance to help Harry whilst also completing my mission. I had to do it, I had to convince Harry to do it.  "No," I started, looking at the three of them, "She's right, Fudge already fears an army that doesn't exist, so lets give him something to really be scared of!" I smirked as Hermione smiled.

Ron nodded, "Bloody hell, where'd that come from?" He laughed, causing all of us to chuckle.

"Burst of courage I guess, when are we getting this together?" I asked, looking to Hermione.

"Sunday, tomorrow I'll make the arrangements and then Sunday, we'll see who's up for it" She smiled. We all nodded, agreeing with her.

Finally, I felt like I was getting somewhere, like I could play nice with both sides and have it work out for the better.
