Chapter 7 (Larissa)
This Chapter is for 18+ as there are some innuendo here and very clear innuendos as well.
It had been bright that day. Larissa was working as usual in her lab, researching. She was testing her new creations when the call came. When everything changed for her.
And here she was again in a different lab but all was the same, or perhaps it was different. Who knows. She was working on another potion, the purple liquid glimmering under the white lights of the laboratory. People scattered around her running, speed walking, or lingering around. Some hurried carrying stacks of paper. Others clutched robotic arms, legs, and heads in their arms as they scurried from one side to the next. While a few stood chatting and gossiping about their assignment and how tired they were, or how they never really did get enough recognition for their hard work. Yes, on occasion some of the other fractions, Informants, and Mercenaries did respect the trade researchers had to offer, most just overlooked them. Tossed them out like the nerds they were.
To put it in high school terms. The Mercenaries were like the Jocks of 'The Grey'. The Informants were the everyday people, the normal fit in with the crowd people. The ones who lingered in the shadow behind their thick-framed glasses on the other hand were the Researchers. The book nerds, the geeks, the weirdos. And although Larissa was quite the beauty in the organization, which helped her garner some respect, she was still seen as lesser by other sections of 'The Grey'.
Her plain long straight brown hair was nothing to gawk at. It was her golden green eyes that captured the gaze of men in all groups of the organization. Sighing, Larissa could already hear the tromping footsteps of Mei as she burst past the mechanical sliding doors. The silent woosh of air blasted past the door like a hurricane as Mei stormed past Larissa's peers. To this day Larissa doesn't know how Mei came to take a liking to her. Mei only let a very select few into her heart. It wasn't as if Larissa tried to earn Mei's trust either she just did somehow.
Turning around in her chair Larissa looked up at Mei, except she couldn't because Mei had thrusted the newspaper in her face. 'The Grey' had an app designed and specifically encrypted into their card tablets so that only agents of 'The Grey' could access it. So that all agents would be able to know the goings on in as large of an organization as 'The Grey'.
By no means was highly confidential information written in the newspaper but just general stuff like for example who now owned the highest and fastest time of a Trial Run. "Ren". That was it, Ren. There was no last name no middle, just Ren, like all the other agents here. Their identities are either real or fake. Some chose to take on new names here while others stuck with their old names, but one rule was clear, no surnames. The idea was that 'The Grey' was a fresh start and surnames had a kind of link to family ties and past lives. Most people here often took on a new name.
"Oh, wow only forty-five minutes. That's like what twenty minutes faster than your time?" Larissa arched a brow impressed with this "Ren". If she remembered correctly, she was the recruit Alexander took in.
Alexander one of the founders of 'The Grey' and the Head of the Informants. Anastasia, the head of Mei's faction, the Mercenaries, and Avan the head of the Researchers and the boss of Larissa. Although Avan was considerably younger than his siblings, it was no secret that the founders of 'The Grey' were siblings, he was the most intellectual in matters dealing with tech.
"Ugh! Please, she was only fifteen minutes faster. Besides, if that bastard had just come like twenty minutes earlier I could have shot him and be done with my trial run faster than this bitch. Who does she think she is anyway?! Rumor has it though, she came from there." Mei said as if Larissa didn't already know. But Larissa decided to play along with the "rumors" Mei had gathered about Ren. For all her gossiping Larissa thought Mei would have made a great Informant.
"Truly? I heard not many people escape. I'm amazed she had." Larissa said, cocking a brow as she turned back around to finish her task. Sucking up a few millimeters of the potion from the glass vial into a sterile disposable plastic pipette she rolled her chair closer to the wounded mouse in the little glass entrapment. It was more like a glass box with small holes lining the top for oxygen to seep in.
Dripping a few drops of the liquid onto the slash against the mouse's lower right side of their body, Larissa watched as nothing, nothing was happening. Sighing Larissa rolled back to her workstation 15 inches away from the box.
"But that's so strange, isn't it? I mean rescuing her was practically a declaration of war against them you know." Mei said, piquing Larissa's attention. Although she wasn't exactly paying attention to what Mei was saying as she rested her potion on the mouse she was listening. And Larissa had done her fair share of information gathering about Ren for Avan to give to Alexander and Anastasia. So they could asses whether or not Alexander should take Ren into the group. Larissa never got the sense that 'The Grey' helped her escape.
"What did you just say?" Larissa said, whipping back around to face Mei her brown ponytail dancing mid-way in the air as she turned.
"Umm, us helping her escape then taking her in was practically a battle cry?" Mei said as if she wasn't sure what she said either. Larissa pauses her gears churning in her brain. "We helped her escape? So she didn't do it on her own?"
Mei cocked a brow scoffing as she crossed her arms, her left leg holding her weight as she shifted," Please, she's not that great. All she did was be fifteen minutes faster than me in the trials. Besides all she needed to do was get info, how hard is that? I had to sit in the cold for twenty-five minutes and I didn't even eat that day. Plus, I was twelve, she's like what thirty?" Mei exaggerated her annoyance at the new girl clear.
Although Mei did sometimes sound like a papered princess, which Larissa guessed she was based on how much Anastasia dotted on her. "No- go back to the part on how we helped her escape. I mean I thought- you know what never mind. How are you and Nikolai doing? I heard you two were pretty lively last night?" Larissa knew one way to get Mei to forget about a topic was to ask her about herself or more importantly about her love life with Nikolai. Probably one of the few exclusive couples in the organization. Mei beamed happily.
"OMG! He was like fucking amazing, I mean his tongue, and don't even get me started on this little trick he does with his fingers." Mei began as Larissa zoned her out once more. She found it odd how Ren was even able to escape even with their help. She supposed 'The Grey' was a pretty good organization it was one of the top five out there in the world but Ren's previous organization was always the top, and the most secretive and secure organization out there. She highly doubted the Head there would simply let Ren escape with or without help. Larissa needed to look into this more as she smiled back at Mei nodding along and playing the good friend she was for Mei.
"Got a mission now but I'll see you for dinner. You have to remember this time, no more robotics at midnight." Mei said as they walked through the halls back from their lunch date. Mei was waving goodbye back to her, her arms swishing side to side as she hopped up and down like a child. Larissa smiled at the image Mei created in her mind at the memory it sprung. Shaking those thoughts away Larissa tugged out her card tablet. With nothing to do Larissa pulled up her contacts.
Maximus was walking straight towards her down the hall just as Larissa looked up from her card. "Max, hey what's up?" She said, beaming her charming smile up at his tall muscular frame. His built muscles and well-defined abs were something nice to taste in the bedroom. And only nice. Larissa did like Maximus, he was good lay and although he did come off as misogynistic sometimes, he was nice.
"What's up? What's up? What the hell is this?" He said thrusting a photo from his card tablet in her face. The sleek card-like phone and its blue digital look now showed a picture of Larissa in all her tanned glory almost completely nude, with only her bra barely holding on for dear life and her panties on. She was raising the t-shirt off the guy she had been sleeping with a week ago. It was really more like a one-night stand. Larissa didn't go back for a second. She wasn't into being on top. It wasn't her most favorite thing. She liked it when the guy had more control and well, that guy in the photo Maximus had thrust towards her was not anywhere near dominating or masculine enough for her. He liked being at the bottom far too much for Larissa's taste.
"What about it?" Larissa said back and although she and Maximus were as close as anyone could count as benign a couple in 'The Grey' they were a closed relationship as far as Larissa knew.
"Excuse me, your my fucking girlfriend Larissa. I'm not supposed to see you with some other guy, not when I haven't laid even a finger on another girl since we-" Maximus began as Larissa scoffed. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. We what? Fucked? Hook up? Sure we fuck a lot but-" Larissa began but Maximus wasn't having it as he held up a hand shoving his card tablet back into the back of his jeans pockets.
"Don't, you know we have more than THAT going on. You said it yourself your MY girlfriend, not his, or hell anyone else's." Maximus fumed the smoke was practically steaming off his head.
Larissa shook her head," Ya I did but we both know what a relationship means in this place. I mean-"
Maximus shook his head refusing to let Larissa finish," We're different. I mean I'm an informant hell I switched fractions for you- I- I didn't want to leave you, and now that I'm a-"Larissa was damn tired of getting cut off so she returned the favor crossing her arm and making her D-sized cups front and center effectively drawing Maximus's eyes as Larissa rolled her own.
"An Informant? I didn't ask you to switch, I didn't ask you to change. I never once told you we were exclusive either. I said yes to the label because you kept insisting. By no means did I say you couldn't fool around with other girls either. Just because you're now an Informant and I'm a Researcher doesn't mean our lives are certain either. You've sure as hell seen it before." Larissa said before shoving past Maximus, and here she thought she was going to call him to occupy her time for a bit.
"Wait, Lara, please." Maximus began before storming forward to catch up to her clacking heels. Larissa never could ditch the heels. And in this case, it really did help her gain a few extra lengths in height in her 5-inch pumps with her 5" 7' and Maximus 6" 4'. Yanking against her arm Larissa nearly toppled back against Maximus' chest if she wasn't as skilled in walking in heels as she was. Instead, she only twirled around her gaze, flaming up with anger as she glared up at the mountain of a man who had dared to lay a hand on her. "Let me fucking go now, Max." She seethed.
"No, not until you hear me out. Look you said you'd be my girlfriend and I get that the majority of people here aren't exclusive but some are. We could be." Maximus pleaded with his puppy eyes willing her to change her mind but Larissa couldn't. She wouldn't.
"Then I guess we're done, aren't we," Larissa said. Ugh, she hated this. Just when she thought she finally found a guy who was kind and nice they had to turn around and do this to her. She didn't do this- she didn't- she couldn't. Not until she got what she needed. Yanking her arm away from his meaty grip Larissa turned once more, storming away from the brute behind her. But Maximus wasn't giving up that easily as he followed right behind her. "Larissa, you can't keep doing this. I know girls like you- you string us around, get us to buy you all those fancy shits, then you dump us. I've heard about you too you know, before we even started dating. My friends said you were a whore. They said you would cheat on me, but I told them otherwise I defended you, but now I see you're nothing but a-"
"Whoa, there buddy. Do you mean to call my girl a slut? Cause if she is then what would that make me?" Kyle said as he swung around the corner, his arms looping around Larissa's shoulder just as she swiveled back around to face Maximus.
"You- did you fuck him too." Maximus was saying to Larissa who was now red in the face as she contemplated how to end the fuckers life. They fucked yes, maybe consecutively sure. A lot and they had a label ya, but that meant shit in the organization. In 'The Grey' pretty much everyone screwed around behind one another back. But before Larissa spoke Kyle gestured for him to speak for her.
"Allow me. Dear sir do you know not of any other word but fuck. Let me educate you then dear good sir. There's also the word sex, intercourse, and of course, you can't forget bonking, carnal desires, coitus, mating, horsey, cowgirl, missionary, doggy-" Kyle begins winking over at Maximums as he started to glow beat red with embarrassment. Everyone knew about Kyle's preferences, big, thin, short, girl, boy. As long as you had a hole Kyle was there. Kyle might even have fucked half the organization's men and women, and that's saying a lot. Considering that there were over 5,000 people here Kyle would have fucked about 2,500 of those people not including the children under 16. If there ever was a term to describe Kyle as much as Larissa hated the words it was very fitting for Kyle. It would be slut. And he didn't mind it though, Kyle admitted that he was indeed a slut.
"Hey if you want it, you gotta grab it. Sometimes by the dick and sometimes with a dick." Kyle would like to say.
Larissa supposed Maximus was a bit of a prude when it came to sexual matters. He never really did like some of the more adventurous explorations Larissa wanted to try which was why she went to others to satisfy them. She was fine if Maximus just wanted to do vanilla stuff, hell Larissa wasn't that big of an adventuress. But she likes to try some toys and maybe a plug or two. Ugh, but he was nice shame she has to find a new one now.
"Y-You I- can't even. You two deserve one another." Maximus blurted as he stormed off not wanting to be caught chatting with the illustrious Kyle.
"Thanks for that," Larissa said as she looped her arms in Kyle's.
"Not a prob, but seriously what did you see in him? I had one mission with the man and boy he rubbed me off way wrong. I half wanted that new chick to slice him open speaking of which, I wanna know more about her past. Come on I know you have it, on Ren I mean. You do all the little grunt work for Avan. His little secretary. There's something about that girl. I just can't seem to shake her off." Kyle began piquing Larissa's interest.
"Not you too. Mei's already gossiped my ear off this morning, before I changed the topic." Larissa said resting her head against Kyle's shoulders as they made their way to his room she supposed. Kyle was better than no one. They sometimes got intimate or just talked. She had a feeling this was more of a talk kind of day. By no means were they friends, after all, Kyle only went to her for sex or information. And Larissa was fine with that, she had Mei, and her little fuck buddies too.
"Let me guess she's pissed Ren took her score on the Trials. But Mei's always like that, wanting to be the best, to please mommy dearest. You know, sometimes I wonder if she's got a mommy kink." Kyle teased as they walked into the elevator.
The 120th room was where the dormitories stood all the way until the 400th room. The organization was located underground as with most organizations. With their elevators being able to go side to side and up and down. Cooling vents were created along the metal walls to withstand even the hottest temperatures of the Earth's core. Invented by Alvan when he was only 17. All the other floors were either dedicated to meals, relaxing, shopping, training, or meetings/classes. It was like a whole other world for each organization out there. Of course, it depended on their success and power as well. A world that the true normal people didn't even know about.
"Stop it. If Mei hears you now she'll end your life on the spot." Larissa said, entering the number for the 137th room. Each elevator was composed of one screen to enter the room in which they wanted to go. If each section was categorized by floor it would just make no sense seeing how the elevators went side to side as well.
"Let her, I'm not so weak. Besides, I just got back from sparring with the new chick. Girls got some steam in her, and speed. I think Mei might finally have met her match." Kyle said as the door closed, locking them in as the elevator raced to the 137th room.
"I don't know. I wouldn't count Mei out just yet. We haven't seen them compete." Larissa said defending her friend as the elevator despite its rocketing speeds, the passengers were never shifted. The elevator's design and engineering were made so that it moved at lightning speeds without shuffling the passengers too much. Kind of like the trains in Japan but much faster.
As the door pinged open like any regular normal old elevator would Larissa couldn't believe her eyes as sprawled out before her was none other than the two aforementioned girls, Mei and Ren. Mei and her cool pale skin were covered in red marks and nicks as the new girl Ren lay tangled in Mei's limps on the ground, glaring up at Mei with a dagger pressed to Mei's throat.
"Damn cat fight." Larissa heard Kyle say beside her. His wolf whistle loud and clear beside her shocked and opened mouth gap.
