Introduction:

AuRon is the first protagonist we meet of the Age of Fire Series. He is born in a cave with his sisters Wistala, Jizara, and his two brothers: the Copper and the Red.

AuRon kills the Red and chases off the Copper during the male hatchlings' fight for control of the nest, while the Copper is injured and flees, and avoids Auron from then on.

His sire/father is AuRel a Bronze, and his mother is a green scaled dragon (or dragonelle) like most females, named Irelia.

When their cave is attacked by dwarves and humans, AuRon and his sister are forced to abandon their home and journey out into the world together, but it's not too long before the remains of their family is broken once more.

AuRon is forced to find his own way to survive in a world that wants him dead. Constantly confronting challenges and overcoming them, or turning them into opportunities. Allying himself with wolves, dwarves, dragons, and other creatures while making enemies just as quickly.

He travels with dwarf merchants for a time, expanding his worldview, before deciding to search out what remains of his own kind, and goes searching for one of the oldest dragons.

Like all male dragons of the Age of Fire Series, upon gaining his wings and becoming a mature dragon, Auron's name becomes two syllables and the second constant in his name is empathized, becoming AuRon or Au-Ron from Auron.

Personality:

AuRon is perhaps still more warrior than scholar, but has been sliding more towards scholar over the course of his life. He believes both aspects are important if one is to endure the craftiness of men and is the one sibling generally uninterested in the war between dragons and hominids.

His desire to be excluded from the conflict is leaps and bounds from the drake he started as, who believed fire and teeth would solve all his problems once he had his wings. But because of his lack of scales and slender body, many of his earliest trials proved more safely accomplished with planning and logic than with force or might, altering his mindset.

Born at the top of the food chain, AuRon's morals were never much of a driving force. His actions are decided almost entirely on what will serve his needs with as little collateral damage as possible. At two times in his first years he is confronted with a child, the first serves as a needed meal. The second he adopts and raises for years from a desire for company.

Though on the other hand, he keeps to a code of honor. If he makes a promise, he keeps it and treats others with the same respect he is shown.

Physical and Mental Capabilities:

As all dragons in the Age of Fire, AuRon is capable of sending 'mind pictures' to other dragons he is familiar with. These consist of an image, a feeling, or a brief message. A very limited kind of telepathy in other words.

He is also an oddity, the only breed of dragon without scales. This means he doesn't need to consume metals to form them and is a faster flyer because his lighter weight. Instead, he has a chameleon-like body that shifts color to that of his surroundings. This also makes him more vulnerable. Beyond that he has fire, claws, and teeth like most dragons, and a human intelligence and a curiosity for engineering and magic.

Appearance and Physical Features:

He has no scales and instead a grey hide when not blending in with another color. His back is striped with black and his body is very serpent-like.

His tail tip is a stubble from scarring after being hacked or bitten off repeatedly. Age of Fire Dragons have a fan like frills on each side of their jaws, called a 'griff', that protect their ears and is raised or lowered to display emotions.
