Chapter 2

Laff had grown up in a small family. He had a younger brother and just his father, his mother had passed away a couple of years ago. His dad was a scientist and a well known one too. People thought his father was perfect. People loved him, and his two children. Of course everyone has their flaws and dark sides. Laff had gotten used to having his dad ask Laff to steal equipment and things, very rarely assassinations when a person started to think that Laffs dad wasn't all that he seemed. Laff's father almost got caught with illegal experiments and that's when he became a dentist.

Laff's brother on the other hand didn't really like Laff. His brother's hair was such a brightly colored yellow and his eyes were sort of an ice blue. People started making comments like 'He could be a cup of juice.' or 'What'd you dye your hair with? Juice?' that's where he got his nickname from, Joocie. Joocie looked almost completely different from his dad and Laff. People didn't think they were related. No one knew what their mother looked like, since she died before they moved to Washington DC.

When they had moved, Laff had gone to a high school and met two kids. Socks and Ally, who were close friends. Ally hung out with Socks most of the time. Leaving Laff alone or having to deal with his brother. But when Laff got to hang out with Ally it made all the difference. Ally was like the sister Laff never had. While Socks really didn't speak to Laff that much. He seemed timid and shy. Not the person you would want to engage in a conversation with. Although Laff still watched from a distance. He didn't know what it was but every single time he got close and talked to Socks it seemed like his heart skipped a beat.

Although he soon forgot about Socks a few years later. So when he was going on the fateful heist and ran into Socks he didn't recognize him at first. He was stronger and spoke with ferocity that commanded respect. Plus he also dyed the tips of his hair a nice shade of bright orange. He instantly recognized Socks the moment he said his name. Laff almost broke down in tears and gave Socks a hug right then and there. But Socks never seemed to remember him. Laff wanted to build a relationship with Socks. It was like a fresh start, they could talk and finally be friends but that's when Socks suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth.

Joocie hated Ally with a passion. Although he didn't make hating Ally his passion. Joocie wanted to be a thief more than anything. His father always intrusted Laff with a dangerous heist this, and a dangerous heist that. When was it Joocies turn to be able to return to his dad and say, "I stole the pipes you needed," or "I got rid of the guy that was suspicious of you."

That turn never came. Joocie slowly got bitter over it. Laff was the favorite but when they moved to Washington DC Joocie had a new chance to be the favorite. So as Laff and Joocie went to highschool and both had met Ally and Socks, Joocie knew from the look on his brother's face that he liked one of the two. He could never tell which of the two though. Joocie had slightly fallen for Socks but each time he tried to talk to him Ally just swept Socks away with an excuse on the lines,

"Socks I need help studying,"

Each time it was something along the lines. 'Oh Socks we have a test can you help me get ready for it?' 'Oh Socks by the way don't forget about that code you were working on. Maybe you could give me some pointers on how you code so well?'

Joocie was sick and tired of it. Ally began to hang out with Laff, meaning it left Joocie alone. And being alone suited Joocie just fine. That's why Joocie hated Ally, she was the goody two shoes that stole the show. Every. Single. Day.

One night Joocie had caught Laff sneaking out of the house. Laff had moved out of the house that he and Joocie were living in with their dad. Joocie didn't really want to stay with their father so he decided to move in with Laff. Despite how much he despised the idea.

Joocie had snuck out of the house right after Laff. What leverage would Joocie have if he just sat in the house and acted like a parent scolding Laff for sneaking out. So Joocie just followed, although Laff made it so difficult. Climbing onto roofs jumping from house to house till he made it to what seemed like an old factory. A small white van was parked outside the building and the garage was open. Inside the garage sat another black and red van with what looked like a bombshell painted on the side of it. From what Joocie could see the lights were on in the building. Laff stood right in front of Joocie then suddenly he fell. Joocie ran forwards and almost jumped off the large concrete wall that walled off the place from the outside world. Although the hill that both Laff and Joocie had been standing on completely defeated its purpose. Joocie lay on the ground watching as Laff walked over to a person who was cleaning the black and red van who had purple hair and mismatched colored eyes and if it weren't any weirder they weren't the normal color of eyes; they were red and green. Like Christmas colors.

Joocie slowed his breathing so that he could try and concentrate on what they were saying.

"Hey Laff, long time no see." The purple haired teen said. He looked younger than Laff. He had oil and dirt smeared on his face and his purple hoodie had a white controller symbol on the front of it.

"Hey you know I was only gone for a week.'' Laff said, "Plus I needed the break. You remember that last heist. Almost broke my arm." Laff said, sticking his arm out in front of him. Joocie watched as the purple haired kid examined his brother's arm and watched as the kid shook his head in exasperation.

"Sometimes Laff I wonder about you. Do you take drama classes?"

"Shut up Tbvg." Laff said jokingly. Joocie attempted to scoot forwards in the dirt. The soil was loose and he slid forwards. He tried to grasp onto the concrete wall but his fingers slipped and he fell onto the asphalt. Startling both Laff and the person named Tbvg.

As Joocie looked up, still dazed from his fall he saw the barrel of a pistol in front of his face. He yelped and tried to scoot back. Running into the wall that he had just fallen from. Joocie locked eyes with Laff. Who had his gas mask tied to his belt. His green eyes filled with fear.

"Its okay Tbvg, he's with me." Laff said. Tbvg turned around and looked at Laff. His eyes looked distrustful but he still lowered his pistol. "Joocie what the heck are you doing here?" Laff asked. Disbelief clear in his tone.

Wanting to keep an edge to his voice, Joocie sarcastically spoke, "Obviously I was following you."

"Yeah I realize that now." Laff snapped. "Do you realize what you've done? We can't let you go because if you go to the police about this place-" Laff started. Tbvg walked towards Laff and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"We can let him decide." Tbvg said. Laff looked at Tbvg with bewilderment on his face.

"Who?" Laff and Joocie said in usion.

"You know who." Tbvg said, rolling his eyes. "Just because we can't see his face doesn't mean he's not the leader of the Payday gang." Tbvg snapped. Realization flooded Laffs as he nodded.

"You're right. I guess we could get him to talk to Soc-" Laff began then Tbvg clapped a hand over Laff's mouth, muffling his words. Joocie looked between the two. Tbvg glanced at Joocie removing his hand from Laffs mouth.

"Follow me Joocie." Tbvg said, using his hand to gesture to Jooce to follow. They walked in through the garage and walked into a giant open space. There sat a bunch of couches. One had someone with Blond hair sleeping on it. He had a pair of sunglasses that were sitting on his nose. There were two others. One had  a red crab onesie and Black hair. His green eyes were intent on a chessboard that sat in front of him. The opponent on the other side of the chessboard. Had brown hair and bright blue eyes. His overalls were slightly stained with oil and dirt like Tbvg. He had a straw sticking out of his hair and a muffin pin on one of the straps of his overalls. He was clearly losing the game and he only looked a few years older than 16. He barely paid any attention to the three that had just walked in. Continuing his focus on the game.

Tbvg walked over to the couch where the blond lay. His sunglasses had fallen to the floor and he was half falling off the couch. His arm already lay on the floor. Tbvg grabbed the blond's shoulder and shook him awake. He sat up with a puddle of drool on his chin.

"What's going on? Is there a safe house raid?"  He slurred. He glanced around and locked eyes with Tbvg. "Security risk?" he asked.

"No Blaza everything's cool." Tbvg lied. His face clearly betrayed his feelings.

Blaza grabbed his glasses off the floor and slid them onto his face. Pulling up his hood to cover his bedhead. Joocie got a better look at him. He wore a bear onesie and had a set of oddly colored pink shorts. He wore black boots and had scars from scratches on his legs.

"Did anyone realize that there's a massive security risk like following you guys?" Blaza asked pointing a finger accusingly at Joocie. Joocie snorted while Laff just shook his head.

"Don't worry Blaza this is my brother. He's with me." Laff said. Joocie rolled his eyes while Blaza glared at him with his light brown eyes.

"We should at least let Ally and Socks know." Blaza suggested. "Ally will get Socks in contact and we'll be able to-"

"Wait hold on Allys here?" Joocie asked cutting Blaza off. Blaza nodded while Laff looked tired.

"Is this really what you're concerned about?" Laff asked.

"Yes I am." Joocie said. "I hate her with all my heart. She's so annoying and rude and just the worst!" Joocie shouted.

"That's quite rude." A voice said from behind Joocie. Joocie turned around and thought the voice came from the garage, instead it came from above. "I don't remember doing anything to you."

Joocie watched as a female began walking slowly down the stairs. Her face had a sly smile and her eyes were bright despite the look of hurt in her eyes. All of her pastel rainbow hair was tied back into a ponytail. She had a plain black shirt with black pants. She just wore casual clothing and had a cup of coffee in her hand.

    "Ally." Joocie muttered.

"Hi to you as well Joocie." She said with a smile. She took a sip from her cup and yawned.

"Wait, does that approve him into the building or-?" Tbvg asked, casting a glance at a confused looking Blaza.

"I think he should still get approved by Socks." Blaza said, crossing his arms.

"That can be arranged. It doesn't seem like Socks sleeps anyways." Ally said. She turned around and began to walk back up the stairs. Joocie glanced at Laff.

"Is it the Socks I'm thinking about?" He asked.

    "Sure is." Laff responded.

Joocie had been accepted into the Payday gang and still had to get used to working with Ally and Laff. His brother was not bad at what he did. They started talking more and it surprised both of them. Thinking about it. Joocie could get used to this.
