Chapter 1

Meme hadn't always been a criminal, nor did he choose to be when he became a criminal. He had only turned to crime after his wife had been assassinated and his son had been taken away from him. Meme was young, younger then most of the people of the payday gang in fact but he still worked just as hard.

Back before Meme had ever heard of the payday gang he had been born into a gang based family. Being able to pick locks and identify a security guard was like second nature. He never chose to be like that. In some cases he did get to say the iconic line of "I didn't choose the life of a criminal, the life of a criminal chose me."

After his son had gone missing he had begun his search, killing a former gang that he and his son had joined. The last dying breath of the gang leader had told him everything he had needed to know, his dying words were.

"Go to Crime.net, find the one they call Socks. He will know where your son is."

Meme had never heard of a criminal with that name before but whoever it was, most likely was a laughing stock and Meme would never take him seriously. Meme had traveled far and wide until eventually he had ended up in Washington, D.C.  He had been eating food and asked his waiter if he had heard of or seen somebody with the name of Socks, to which the waiter responded 'No,' And left.  A young female had overheard him though. She had long pastel hair, only part of it tied up with a white hair tie and white headband that stopped the rest of her hair that wasn't tied up from getting in her face. She had a black shirt with a fuzzy pink coat. She had a black skirt on. Her eyes were the unnatural color of pastel green and blue.

"Can I sit here?" She asked, pointing to the available chair that was opposite to Meme.

"I guess." Meme said, shrugging, "I do have a question for you though." Meme added after a moment.

"I'm assuming it's about a man with the name Socks?" She questioned. "Because I do know him." She said as she sat down. "The real question is what do you want with him?" She glared at him. The waiter came by and she asked for water.

    "What's your name?" Meme asked.

    "Ally, what about you?"
"Meme." He said, dipping his head. The waiter came back and handed Ally a glass of water. She accepted it with a thank you and a smile and set the glass on the table.

"You didn't answer my question, Meme." Ally said using a straw to spin the water inside the glass. Her face fell into a serious frown. "What business do you have with Socks?"

"I was told he might know where my son is." Meme answered. Ally froze, slowly she looked up from her water and locked eyes with Meme. Meme decided he needed to elaborate further, so he told her about how he used to be in a gang and his wife, and his son, and his medical degree which Ally didn't believe at all.

"I guess I could see if I could get him to help you." Ally sighed "Although I doubt he has the time for it." She said.

"I would do anything and I mean anything to see my son again." Meme told her. Slamming his fist down on the table. Ally looked startled by his ferocity. She stood up and held out a hand. Meme didn't accept it yet.

"If you shake my hand , we might ask you to do something you can't.. But if you don't, there's a chance you will never see your son again." Ally said, "So you ready to be a criminal?" and Meme accepted her hand.

Unlike Meme, Ally wasn't forced into the life of a criminal. In fact she had no reason to steal. She had no reason to take things from other people. She just wanted to.

Her family was filthy rich and her parents loved her but never had enough time for her. They sent her to a public school when she had requested it and being sent to that school was how she met Socks.

Socks was a quiet kid and never really said anything in class, quite the opposite of Ally. She was loud and obnoxious but they made an amazing duo. He helped her with notes and if any kids were bullying him she would punish them. They really were the best of friends of course until after high school. Both needed to choose a career path. Ally chose to be a criminal and not to go to college while Socks chose to become a police officer and went through the police training program. Every Single day he would visit Ally, he would complain and complain about his job to her. No one respected him, he felt like he was just a ghost. People didn't even know his name but he did get a chief position and that was only because of one thing.

He said yes to trying to capture the Payday crew, the crew that Ally was working with.

Instead of trying to capture them though, he took interest in the crew. He would read up on their crimes in the news and tried to track down the FBI files they had. It was difficult and took a lot of time but eventually Socks knew more about the Payday crew then Ally did. He even knew a little about her files but didn't fully comprehend that Ally was a part of the crew. She later burned her files that Socks had gained access to.

Then the crew was going to the First World bank. Ally was going with Laff, Tommy and a rando that was new to the crew and she hadn't bothered to learn his name. Ally had been upstairs when the rando had been captured. The vault had been drilled and they had gotten all the money. All the C4 on the wall had been placed and they were ready to go. Ally ran to the balcony and saw Laff talking to someone holding out a mask. Ally dropped to the floor once she recognized the brown hair, not wanting to get caught. Laff was talking to Socks.

She continued to watch from her position on the balcony, watching as Socks calculated something in his head. Then he did something she'd never thought he would do. He accepted the mask. Taking it into his hand and sliding it on his head. It was a space helmet. Ally couldn't help but think that it was a good fit for her best friend. Socks had always taken an interest in space and now here he was with a space helmet. Laff handed him a measly pistol that had a long suppressor attached to the end of it and Socks turned and began to shoot.

They all escaped, well except for the rando. Socks still hadn't recognized her until they arrived at the safe house and she had taken off her mask.

"Ally?" He asked her, setting the suppressed pistol on a table. Laff removed his gas mask that he usually wore and hung it on a hook on the wall. "I can't believe its you." He said, with a little less excitement then Ally had been expecting. She had hoped he would wrap her in a hug and tell her that he was happy they could work together and be better friends again, but to her disappointment he still looked upset. Ally couldn't blame him; someone would realize sooner or later that Socks had gone missing. Only a week later had missing pictures been hung on lampposts and walls. Socks couldn't go outside anymore. Because even if one person just one random person saw him, his sighting would be reported and people would call the police to come instantly. Jeopardizing any of the possible heists that he could have gone on. So he disappeared even for the Payday crew. He still stayed in contact and began to find missions and objectives to complete.

It was nice. The payday crew never had order until Socks had come along. Instead of being a random mess of criminals they were organized. Socks had grown infamous. After Tommy had taken on the role as a contractor, Ally and Laff were the only ones who knew him. Eventually more people joined. Blaza, Joocie, Muffin, Woolf, Dino, Tbvg, Shroobz, Tbh and then Meme, which Ally recruited herself. Socks eventually became the beating heart of the Payday crew.

Ally could never have been more happy.
