nineteen

MALEA AND PETER WALKED THROUGH THE LOBBY OF THEIR HOTEL IN A COMFORTABLE SILENCE.

They both had some spare time, and they certainly didn't want to be training. No, they had enough of training. And definitely not because they did it together. Things just get really tedious after a while.

"This is by far the most quiet hotel I have ever been in," Peter said, his eyes scanning the place around him.

"It really is. I'm quite sure I can hear the birds chirping from here." Malea replied.

Peter looked at her. For a minute, he stayed walking in a steady rhythm, but then stole glances from her occasionally. Well, regularly more like.

Malea noticed this. She noticed how his head bobbed over to face her, not completely, but just enough so that she was in his eye view, with his brown hair towering over hers slightly. And she noticed that his head continued to do so. It took everything in her power not to look back and meet Peter's eyes.

Finally, she was getting a bit paranoid with herself, thinking about the way Peter kept trying to look at her. In the least rudest way, she asked, "is something wrong?"

Peter didn't answer back. Instead, his hand moved over to her face, and brushed the soft spot of skin underneath her eye with his finger. Malea stayed frozen -- she didn't know what to do in this situation.

Peter then spoke, unfreezing Malea from the spot. "You had an eyelash on your cheek." he said, with a soft smile.

"Oh, thanks," she thanked him, looking to the floor as the two started walking again in silence.

"You know what I could really do with right now?" Malea asked, breaking the somewhat awkward atmosphere that was gathering.

"A holiday to Hawaii?" Peter guessed, making Malea give a soft laugh.

"That, and a plate of churros."

"Well, I mean I'm not sure if they sell churros here, but you can try.." Peter trailed off, chuckling softly. "Hang on, I just remembered that I was supposed to meet Happy... are you fine on your own?"

Malea nodded gently, "It's all good, go ahead." and Peter then left, in a half-step-half-jog kind of way.

Even when Peter had left, Malea still continued to walk through the lobby, taking her feet wherever her black Converse had decided to go to. She turned the corner, and she's seen something, that she hadn't have expected to see with her own eyes, but expected it to happen at some point.

The minute her foot drove round the sharp edge of the corridor wall, she saw, in front of her, Holland and Alex. Only, Holland's arm was snaked around Alex's neck, while Alex had his around her waist. And.. they were kissing each other. Shit, Malea thought.

As soon as Alex and Holland felt the slight shift of movement coming from around the corner, and with Malea coming to face them with such abruptness, did they untangle themselves from each other.

With the quickness of it all happening, Malea turned her back with a speed she hadn't ever known was in her, and began heading back the way.

Before she knew it, there were footsteps catching up with her, and then within a matter of moments Holland was in front of her, her lipstick obviously faded and her dark brown curls slightly out of place.

"You saw that.. didn't you?" Holland asked with a slight hint of awkwardness, stopping Malea from walking.

"Yeah, I did see that." Malea answered. "Part of me wishes I hadn't.. but the other part of me wants to scream in immense joy that you two have finally happened," she showed a hint of a smile on her face.

"So you're not weirded out by that?"

Malea sighed lightly, her mouth stretched out wide, "Of course I am.. but you know what, don't worry about it, its all fine. So go back to snogging Alex before this gets any more awkward."

"Thank you, I love you, bye!" Holland quickly spoke, then scurrying back off to Alex, presumably.
