The Great War started in times of the unknown and uncertainty.

After disasters covered the planet, mankind was in a weaker position than it was prior.

They had been so busy surviving, no one payed attention to animal kind evolving into the Mobian race, a version of the animal kingdom that was now bipedal.

Unfortunately, both sides avoided contacting each other for generations as they both developed their cultures to the current environment.

Alexander was trying to gather all species together to form one nation, but saw humans as too agressive and scheming, so they were isolated from the rest of the nation.

During the reign of King Theodore Acorn, the first tragedy leading to the war began.

Theodore's son, Emerson, was on his way home, when he decided to take a detour.

He encountered a human named Paladin at a creek.

The two quickly became friends and showed each other their things.

Unfortunately, Emerson was killed in an accident during their meeting.

Paladin flees in fear when his friends arrived.

This puts the blame for the prince's death on him, putting fear and anger between both sides.

A policy for no guns was called after this.

During George Acorn's reign, he declared war on the humans.

Unfortunately, losses were too great, resulting in the war ending.

George was removed from power, but the hatred still remained between the two races.

Two generations later, Sebastian Acorn managed to establish peace between the two races for a short while.

Fredrick Acorn encountered a human by the name of Nate Morgan.

Nate Morgan was a scientist who had been framed for an incident that sent him into exile.

Fredrick invited him into the kingdom, accepting him as family.

Nate Morgan invented the Power Rings, an energy source that replaced fossil fuels.

The city of Mobotropolis thrived off of his recent success.

Unfortunately, not everyone was acceptant to the change in technology.

Namely among these were the court wizard, Ixis Naugus.

Him and General Kodos Lion devised a scheme to destroy Nate's reputation, as well as all humans.

Kodos sent a squad for a recon mission in the Great Forest.

Naugus used magic to amplify the hatred of a nearby human squad.

A large battle broke out, with Kodos and Nate as the only survivors.

Naugus accused Nate of revealing the location of the kingdom.

King Maximilian was reluctant to believe the tale.

Unfortunately, the choice to banish him was taken away.

Nate exiled himself away from both man and Mobian for most of his life.

Kodos tried to eliminate Naugus afterwards, but he fled to the Zone of Silence, which Kodos sealed.

Both sides began sending scouts to determine each other's strength.

Two scouts encountered each other from both sides.

They refused to fight each other and decided to return back to their respective sides.

Their plan was to tell their leaders that war would be futile between them.

Unfortunately, Kodos and his squad came upon their plan and captured them.

Kodos refused to live in a world where humans and Mobians lived together.

The scouts were executed and had their bodies sent back to the two sides.

This is what started the Great War.

The humans were stronger in the beginning of the war, and managed to capture the capital.

Hedgehog brothers Jules and Charles encountered Julien Kintobor, a former apprentice of Nate Morgan.

King Max let him stay, feeling responsible for Nate's exile.

Around this time, the capital was retaken by the Mobians, but the humans remained in shelling range.

Julien managed to trick Kodos into the Zone of Silence.

Julien took the position of Warlord.

With his knowledge of tactics and technology, Julien put the war in the Mobian side's favor.

Unfortunately, even though some wanted negotiations to end the war, some didn't want that.

People who sided with Kodos and Naugus believed that humans should be removed entirely from the world.

It was in this point in history that the line between friend and foe was changed forever.

5 Mobians would change the fate of the war and start the path to true peace between Mobians and humans.
