SO AFTER THAT, VERNON AND PETUNIA WERE ANGRY TO SAY THE LEAST. They had even taken the liberty to tell the two that they would not be returning to Hogwarts and even put bars up on all the windows. And rightfully so, Daisy had been angry for days since what happened.
It had been days since Vernon put bars on the window and Daisy had waken up in the middle of the night — like she seemed to do often — but this time, she'd woken up to a sound outside. It sounded like a car engine running. Daisy had assumed that maybe it was the neighbors two houses down who always got up at 3am for work or perhaps a car driving by. She checked the clock next to her bed. 5:12am. Huh. Daisy had stood up from her bed and checked the window.
Looking out the window, she had seen a strange object moving through the sky. As she looks, the object appears to be a shooting star, before turning into two beams of light. She'd thought that maybe it was plane but now she didn't know what to think.
Daisy furrows her brows and decides to wake Harry up to see if what she's seeing is real or if she's finally going mad due to the enclosure of Vernon practically holding them hostage. "Harry... Harry." She whispers softly at first but seeing as that didn't work — "Harry!" Daisy whispered rather harshly that time.
Harry stirred as he turns to his sister. "What?" He asks groggily.
Daisy pulls him up as he grabs his glasses to put on his face. "Look outside and tell me you're seeing what I'm seeing." Daisy tells and Harry furrows his brows as he sees clearly what Daisy is pointing out. "Is that a... car?"
A turquoise Ford Anglia car flies closer to the home, making both Harry and Daisy stand back as it gets closer. Daisy didn't even realize her back hit the closet door.
The car turns to its left and the twins get a better look at who's in the car. In the Ford Anglia is Ron, accompanied by his older twin brothers, Fred and George. "Hiya, Harry, Daisy." Ron greets the twins as he sticks his head out the window.
Daisy smiles as she looks in the car. "Ron, Fred, George!" She exclaims. "What are you all doing here?" Harry asks. "Rescuing you two, of course." Ron tells, matter-of-factly. "Now, come on. Get your trunks!"
With that, the two scrounged and changed into their clothes from their pajamas and packed their trunks with all of their necessities — almost as quietly as possible. Once the two finished, Ron put a hook at the bars on the window and looks at the twins. "You'd better stand back."
The two step back as Ron turns to the twin in the drivers' seat. "Let's go!" The car pulls the bars on Harry's window off and lands with a thud on the ground outside and both Harry and Daisy are hoping that it didn't wake Petunia or Vernon up.
The car turns around and the trunk is open for the twins to quickly put their things in. Daisy puts her trunk in first and Harry picks up his trunk and is ready to put it in when the two hear: "Potters!"
Harry puts his trunk in the car and Daisy is hoping the three locks on the door are keeping Vernon busy. Harry picks up Hedwig's cage and Daisy picks up Ruel's and the two hand the cages to Ron. "Come on, Harry! Daisy! Hurry up!" Ron rushes.
Harry goes first into the car as quickly as he can and once it's Daisy's turn, Vernon had unlocked the door successfully and opens it as Daisy is about to climb out and into the car. Daisy immediately jumps towards the car with no hesitation.
"Petunia, they're escaping!" Daisy is halfway in the car as Vernon grabs onto her ankle to pull her back. "Aah!" Daisy yelled. "Daisy!" Ron and Harry try to pull her in the car with them. Daisy is struggling to get out of Vernon's grip. "Let go of me!" She shouts.
"Oh no, girl! You, that boy and those bloody pigeons aren't going anywhere!" Vernon yells. "Get off!" Harry shouts. "Drive!" Ron shouts to his brother. And before Fred can drive away, Daisy kicks Vernon in the face and causes him to lose his grip on Daisy's ankle and also catches him off balance and so he falls out of the window.
Daisy laughs and has a big smile written on her face. "Goodbye, Uncle Vernon! I'll have Ruel send you a postcard from Hogwarts!" She yells and slams the car door shut. The car flies away towards the sky.
Daisy catches her breath and settles herself in the car smushed between Ron and the car door. "By the way, you two, Happy Birthday!" Ron says. "Best birthday gift ever." Daisy tells.
In all of the excitement, she hadn't even realized that it was her birthday. She didn't care though, her birthday was never really something to celebrate since her and Harry never really had the chance to because of their cruel aunt and uncle who liked making Dudley's birthday a more important event than Harry's and Daisy's, despite it being so close to theirs.
After a few hours, they'd finally managed to get back to Ron's home right as the sun rose. It was now seven in the morning and they had finally landed outside of a what looked like used to be a large stone pigpen, but extra rooms had been added here and there until it was several stories high and so crooked it looked as thought it were held up by magic — which it most likely was. Four or five chimneys were perched on top of the roof. A lopsided sign stuck in the ground near the entrance read: The Burrow.
Now, while Daisy and Harry were impressed with the outside, the inside was a different story. Fred walked in first, quieting everyone as they all walked through and looked around if the coast was clear.
Daisy looked around the magic in the home and she was happy to be surrounded by magic once more. It smelt like fresh potatoes, which Daisy could get used to. "It's not much, but it's home." Ron told.
"I think it's brilliant." Harry smiles. "If you ever need another sister, let me know." Daisy jokes to the Weasley clan, who all smile to her joke but their smiles falter once they hear footsteps marching downstairs and to their shock, it's their own mother — Molly Weasley.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?" She questions, making the boys nearly jump out of their skin. Mrs. Weasley stands in the doorway, furious but changes her angry expression to sweet once she sees the Potter twins. "Harry, Daisy, how wonderful to see you, dears!" She says. Daisy is actually kind of glad she isn't the one that Mrs. Weasley's mad at.
Mrs. Weasley then turns back to Fred, George and Ron with a scowl back on her face. "Beds empty! No note! Car gone! You could've died! You could've been seen!" She then turns back to the Potters with the soft expression once more. "Of course, I don't blame you two, dearies."
"They were starving them, Mum! There were bars on their window!" Ron reasons. "Well, you'd best hope that I don't put bars on your window, Ronald Weasley!" Molly threatens, making the boys all stand there, frightened. Daisy was sure she'd seen Ron like this before, but never his older brothers.
Mrs. Weasley softens back to the Potter twins. "Come on, Harry and Daisy. Time for a spot of breakfast."
As soon as the family settles down for breakfast, Daisy takes the spot in between Ron and Harry and Mrs. Weasley has the children settle in. And the footsteps coming down the steps gets Daisy's attention as the youngest daughter who she knew as Ginny, Ron's little sister — comes down the steps and looks to her mother.
"Mummy, have you seen my jumper?" Ginny asks. Molly nods at her daughter," Yes dear. It was on the cat." Ginny then looks over at the guests at the table and is wide-eyed once she looks right at Harry. "Hello." Harry greets as Daisy throws a small wave her way.
Still very wide-eyed, Ginny scatters away. Harry is confused at this and frankly, so is Daisy. "W-what did we do?" Daisy asks.
"Ginny," Ron starts. "She's been talking about Harry all summer. Dead annoying, really." Daisy looks over her brother's way and smirks. Girl to girl, she knew why. Perhaps Harry made Ginny nervous? With this in mind, Daisy looks down at her plate to start eating.
Suddenly, a man had walked into the home. "Morning, Weasleys!" He greets.
"Morning, Dad!" The children greet.
"Morning Arthur!" Molly greets next.
By this, Daisy already knows that this man is Mr. Weasley AKA Ron's dad. "What a night. Nine raids. Nine!" Mr. Weasley shouts.
"Raids?" Harry asks, taking the question out of Daisy's mouth as they turn to Ron for an explanation.
"Dad works in the Ministry of Magic. In the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. Dad loves Muggles. Thinks they're fascinating." Ron explains.
Mr. Weasley sits down at the head of the table and notices the new guests at the table. Now one of the guests had dark red hair — which was Daisy, obviously since Harry had jet black hair — but it wasn't red enough to be a Weasley. "And who are you two?" He decides to ask and both Harry and Daisy face his way.
"Oh, sorry sir. I'm Harry, sir, Harry Potter. And this is my sister, Daisy." Harry introduces himself and his sister and Daisy sends a wave and a polite smile to Mr. Weasley's way. "Pleasure to meet you, sir."
"Good Lord, are you really?" Arthur questions, looking at the two and then settles into his breakfast. "Well, Ron's told us all about you, of course. When did he get here?"
"This morning," Mrs. Weasley turns towards her husband as she hands him his plate. "Your sons flew that enchanted car of yours to Surrey and back last night."
"Did you really?" Arthur asks. "How'd it go?!" The Weasley twins begin to talk but Mrs. Weasley hits her husband on the shoulder at his reaction and now Fred, George, Ron, Harry and Daisy are hiding their laughter.
"I mean...that was very wrong, indeed, boys. Very wrong of you." Ron and Daisy exchange a glance and stifle their laughter. "Now, Harry, Daisy, you two must know all about Muggles. Tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?" Arthur asks curiously.
If Daisy were being honest, she'd had no clue what the function of a rubber duck was. She knew they were in baths, she wasn't exactly sure why. And before she and Harry can even answer, a squawk is heard outside and Mrs. Wealsey turns outside.
"Oh, that'll be Errol with the post." The owl, Errol, with letters flew in, only to strike the landing with the window. Daisy makes a face at the hard landing. "Oh, fetch it will you Percy, please?" Mrs. Weasley asks the eldest sibling in the home.
"He's always doing that." Ron says. Percy stands to get the letters and checks them. "Oh look, it's our Hogwarts letters. And they've sent us Harry's and Daisy's as well."
Daisy furrows her brows as Percy hands the Potter twins their mail. "Dumbledore must know you're here, you two. Doesn't miss a trick, that man." Percy keeps his letter and hands Ron, Fred and George theirs.
"This lot won't come cheap, Mum." Fred tells. "The spell books alone are very expensive." George agrees.
"We'll manage," Mrs. Weasley assures. "Right then." She looks towards her family. "There's only one place we're going to get all of this — Diagon Alley."
