EVER SINCE DAISY POTTER GOT HER BRACES OFF, SHE COULDN'T STOP LOOKING IN THE MIRROR. It was a constant thing now, like Daisy couldn't remember the last time she'd smiled so she did it nearly every time she could. The Dursleys were happy that they didn't have to spend so much money on her braces anymore. She nearly had to beg them to get her braces and even threatened to call the authorities and tell them she was being abused if they didn't get her her braces. And she was close to doing it too, but with that threat — they gave in.

And so here was Daisy — looking in her mirror at her teeth in her very own new bedroom. Well, it wasn't her own and it wasn't new, it was actually her cousin, Dudley's, second bedroom that she had to share with her brother.

In discovering that they could no longer fit in the small cupboard under the stairs, the Dursleys decided to give Harry and Daisy Dudley's second bedroom — which spoilt Dudley threw a big hissy fit about. Daisy would rather have her own bedroom but nonetheless, it was better than staying in the small cupboard.

Harry looked over at his twin and shook his head as he spotted her looking in the mirror again. You could tell he was also getting tired of her looking in the mirror all the time. He was currently looking through his own scrapbook Hagrid had given him. Daisy had one of her own as well.

He had flipped to a photo of himself, his sister and their friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They hadn't received any letters from them like they had promised at the end of the year. And they had sent a couple but received nothing back from their friends.

Suddenly, Harry and Daisy's owls, Hedwig and Ruel begin to chirp loudly and hoot. Daisy looks up from her mirror at her owl. "Ruel, quiet down. You know we can't let you out." Daisy scolds. "I'm sorry, Hedwig. We're not allowed to use magic outside of school." Harry agrees at his own owl freaking out.

They knew their ghastly Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia would have their heads on platters if they let the two owls out. Hedwig nibbles at her lock and Ruel squawks loudly.

"Besides, if Uncle Vernon--" Harry is then interrupted by the twins' Uncle Vernon, who they can hear angrily yell:
"Harry! Daisy!"

Daisy puts down the mirror in her hand and sighs: "Now you two have done it." Harry sighs and closes the scrapbook as he follows his sister downstairs.

Daisy walks into the kitchen first with her brother following behind. They spot their Aunt Petunia first, who's currently working on a cake. She looks at the two and nudges her head towards the living room. "He's in there. Vernon."

Both Harry and Daisy enter the living room, where Uncle Vernon is fixing Dudley's tie. "I'm warning you. If you can't control those bloody birds, they'll have to go." Vernon tells the two.

"But they're bored." Harry reasons. "If only we could let them out for... an hour or two, then maybe they'd stop." Daisy tells. Vernon chuckles, almost evilly. "So you can send secret messages to your freaky little friends? No, sir."

"But we haven't had any messages from any of our friends." Harry tells. "Not one. All summer." Daisy states.

Vernon has finished helping his son with fixing his tie and Dudley walks over to the two. "Who would want to be friends with you?" He shoulder-checks Harry harshly. "Loads of people, actually, Dudley. You'd be surprised." Daisy tells as Vernon walks towards the twins.

"I should think you two would be a little more grateful. We've raised you since you were babies, given you the food off our table, even let you have Dudley's second bedroom, purely out of the goodness of our hearts." Vernon tells the two and Daisy furrows her brows at her uncle.
"Are your hearts small? Because that would explain everything." She questions and Harry nearly bursts out laughing at his sister's comment while Vernon sends a glare her way.

Daisy was too much like her father, she'd overhear her uncle telling her aunt. She was the one they had the most issues with. Daisy had no issues talking back to her aunt and uncle, she was the troubling twin between her and Harry. And she often butted heads with Vernon because of it.

Before Vernon could scold Daisy on the importance of respecting her elders, Petunia smacked her son's hand away from the cake she was still putting the finishing touches on. "Not now, bumpkins. It's for when the Masons arrive."

"Which should be any minute." Vernon motions for his family to come into the living room. "Now, let's go over our schedule once again, shall we? Petunia, when the Masons arrive, you will be—?" Petunia nods, "In the lounge, waiting to welcome them graciously to our home."

Vernon nods to his wife. "Good. And, Dudley, you will be—?" Dudley motions towards the front door. "I'll be waiting to open the door." Vernon smiles, "Excellent."

Vernon's smile drops and the family turns to the twins, all three have scornful looks on their faces. "And you two?" Vernon asks.

Harry and Daisy look at each other remember what Vernon told them and knowing they had practically recited it in their heads. "We'll be in our bedroom, making no noise and pretending that we don't exist." They said in unison.

"Too right you will," Vernon stated. "With any luck, this could well be the day I make the biggest deal of my career, and you two will not mess it up."

"You can count on that." Daisy tells and as soon as the doorbell rings, the two head upstairs to their bedroom, ready for the hour to be over as soon as it is.

As soon as Harry opens the door, the pair's eyes widen as they spot some sort of creature in their room, jumping on Harry's bed and by the looks of it is having fun from doing so. The creature notices Harry and Daisy at the door and stops. "Harry and Daisy Potter! Such an honor it is!" Harry and Daisy both immediately walk in and Harry closes the door.

        "Who are you?" Harry asks.
"I think the better question is what are you?" Daisy wonders.
"Dobby, sir and ma'am, Dobby the house elf." The creature answers both questions.

"Uh, not to be to be rude or anything, but this isn't a great time for us to have a house elf in our bedroom." Harry states as Daisy nods in agreement. "Oh, oh, yes, sir! Dobby understands! It's just that, Dobby has come to tell you- it is difficult, sir- Dobby wonders where to begin?"

"Well, why don't you sit down?" Daisy offers. "S-sit down? S-sit- sit down?" The elf soon begins to cry and Harry looks at Daisy and the girl is confused on what she did. It seems as if his cries are getting louder. "Dobby, I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to offend you, or anything." Daisy tells.

Dobby soon stops crying. "Offend Dobby? Dobby has heard of your greatnesses, sir and ma'am, but never has he been asked to sit down by a wizard, like an equal."
"You can't have met many decent wizards then." Harry tells.
"No, I haven't," Dobby smiles but then it soon fades. He faces the dresser at the end of Daisy's bed. "That was an awful thing to say." He then bangs his head on the dresser drawer repeatedly. "Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby!" He repeats to himself and both Daisy and Harry try to quiet him.

He soon stops and has a dizzy look written on his face. "Are you all right?" Daisy asks. "Dobby had to punish himself, ma'am." He pushes a stool closer to Harry and Daisy. "Dobby almost spoke ill of his family, ma'am."
      "Your family?" Harry asks.
"The wizard family Dobby serves, sir." He gets up and sits on the stool. "Dobby is bound to serve one family forever. If they knew Dobby was here... " The elf shivers. "But Dobby had to come. Dobby has to protect Harry and Daisy Potter. To warn them."

Both Harry and Daisy both sit on Harry's bed as Dobby sits on the stool. "Harry and Daisy Potter must not go back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year." The twins look towards each other in surprise. What did he mean by this? "There is a plot, a plot to make most terrible things happen."

     "What terrible things?" Daisy asks.
     "Who's plotting them?" Harry follows.

Dobby begins to resist himself from saying. "Oh, he! Can't say!" He begins to hit his head with his hands. "Okay, we understand. You can't say." Harry tells, really not wanting the elf to freak out again.
Dobby then gets on the desk, grabs the lamp and hits himself with it. "Bad Dobby!" He chants to himself as he keeps hitting himself with it. Daisy and Harry try to pry the lamp away from Dobby.

As they try and take the lamp away from Dobby, the twins hear someone coming upstairs and they know it's their Uncle Vernon. "Dobby, stop!" Daisy finally grabs it from Dobby and Harry grabs his rags, hides him in the closet, and closes the door. "Get in there and keep quiet!"

Vernon opens the door and has an angry scowl on his face and Daisy stands behind her cousin next to the closet. "What the devil are you two doing up here?!" He questions.

"We were just..." Dobby slowly opens the closet door and Daisy pushes it closed.
"You've both just ruined the punchline of my Japanese golfer joke." Vernon says.
"Sorry." Harry closes the closet door this time as it opens again.

Vernon glances at the closet door, unaware of Dobby's presence, then lifts his finger as he turns his eyes back to the twins. "One more sound, and you'll wish you'd never been born, you two." He sees the closet door opening again. "And fix that door."

This time, both Harry and Daisy close the door. "Yes, sir." The two say. Vernon closes the door behind him and leaves and Harry opens the closet door to let Dobby out. "See why we've got to go back?" Daisy questions.

Dobby removes a sock from his ear. "We don't belong here; we belong in your world, at Hogwarts. It's the only place we've got friends." Harry nods.

"Friends who don't even write to Harry and Daisy Potter?" Dobby asks and that makes Daisy think. How did he know that? "Well, we expect they've been--" Daisy interrupts her brother. "Hang on, how do you know our friends haven't been writing to us?"

Caught, Dobby has a scared look on his face. "Harry and Daisy Potter mustn't be angry with Dobby. Dobby hoped if Harry and Daisy Potter thought their friends had forgotten them, that Harry and Daisy Potter might not want to go back to school, ma'am..." In his rags are stacks of letters, all from their friends.

"Give us those. Now." Harry orders and Dobby shouts: "No!" Harry and Daisy try to get the elf but he ends up running out of the room, making Daisy's heart drop as she and Harry run after the elf.

They make it downstairs and see Dobby looking towards the cake Aunt Petunia's made. "Dobby, get back here!" Harry whispers harshly and Dobby shakes his head and snaps his fingers, making the cake levitate in the air and Daisy's eyes widen. "Dobby... please... no. Put the cake down!" Daisy whispers.

"The Potter twins must say they're not going back to school." Dobby tells. "We can't." Daisy is appalled by this sentence. "Hogwarts is our home!" Harry nods.

Dobby looks down. "Then Dobby must do it. For Harry and Daisy Potter's own good." He snaps again, making the cake float towards their aunt, their uncle, their cousins and their guests. The two shove past the small elf and Daisy thinks that if she can get the cake before they can notice everything will be fine.

Daisy walks forward to try and get the cake. Harry follows beside her to try and get it. Their uncle and aunt see as this is happening and Dobby snaps his fingers again and boom — the cake drops. Daisy puts her hands over her mouth in shock and doesn't even want to see what's happened.

Vernon's face scrunches up. "I'm sorry. It's our niece and nephew. They're very disturbed. Meeting strangers upsets them, so we kept them upstairs..." The twins turn to the meddling elf and he snaps his fingers, making him fade away.

Daisy shakes her head and thinks: "That meddling elf better hope I never see him again."
