# FINISH !
M/n awkwardly sat on the passenger's seat.
"What do you mean by that?"
"I think you should know that." Eugene smiled slyly. He looked like he knows more than he should. . .
M/n discreetly navigated through his phone with the other hidden hand without looking, attempting to prolong his time as he sent all the files he gathered in his phone to the Chairman's private email just incase so that his efforts would not be in vain.
"Do you know where we're heading to right now?"
"No, not exactly." M/n shrugged as he kept glancing outside, trying to locate any possible escape routes.
"It's futile to think of escaping." Eugene stated in boredom, tapping the window on his side. "There's no one you can turn to incase you do succeed; you'll be a wanted man not only in Korea but in other neighboring countries as well."
"And for what reason? How exactly have I wronged you? If you ask me, this is very sudden. I may need an explanation." M/n retorted.
"Well, I received some very exciting news." Eugene started calmly, it seems like he didn't deem him like an overall threat since he was aware of M/n's lacking in the physical prowess. "A little birdy told me you were undercover."
"Ah, I see." M/n sat back.
"You're working for the Chairman of the HNH Group, aren't you?"
"I only know H&M."
"Well, H&M worker, I have a proposal." Despite already knowing the truth, Eugene still manages to come off with hospitality. It was highly impressive.
The only reason why M/n wasn't panicking or rushing out like he usually does was because he was confident that Eugene was going to do another of his plot twist plans. How did he know? Well, like he said— the two of them were somehow similar.
Eugene wouldn't unnecessarily harm him unless he doesn't serve of any use. And at the moment, M/n was valuable, an ultimate table turner.
"Why don't you officially join me? Leave the Chairman behind— I'm sure I'll be able to give you double than what he offers." Eugene grinned, not his usual smile; a complete grin this time. "What do you want? Name it?"
M/n pursed his lips into a thin line.
"I don't need the money, unfortunately— I mean, I do need it but I don't really want it. At first, I only accepted an offer to infiltrate in exchange of serving my purpose as a swindler, a con-artist, a person who would willingly throw his life away for money and worth."
Eugene patiently sat to hear him out.
"Don't get me wrong, I love money. I can pay all my arcade bills with money. But I realized that I loved my life, that I'm so much more than my gift." M/n kept glancing at his phone.
"Are you watching a movie right now? How unbelievable."
"Ah, sorry about that— it's a new film and I just had to finish it. It's called Encanto, neat, huh?" M/n grinned sheepishly.
The driver deadpanned at him.
"But back to my speech. . . I don't plan to continue my career after I get my work done. I wish to live a comfy life with my lover, and I'll be damned if I go without at least hearing him say he loves me in person." M/n finished before pulling something out of his pockets. "Thank you for listening to my ted talk, now I'll have to get back before midnight."
"I see you refused." Eugene added before M/n could do whatever he was planning to do. "But just know that the little birdy who snitched on you is the very person you're working for."
M/n hesitated for a second.
"The Chairman? He would never."
"What makes you believe so? Did you think he cared so much for his employees? He only wants money and power, I actually feel pity for you. You would have been better off working for me." Eugene stated bluntly, a kind smile on his face.
M/n glanced at his phone. Seeing that the files were sent and the Chairman has yet to open them.
"Go on, see for yourself. Tell him, tell him you need help— see if he cares so much." Eugene urged with a grin as he calmly sat back.
M/n swallowed the lump in his throat. Was he really going to allow Eugene to sway him with his words? Last time he checked, Eugene was a manipulator. But he would have harmed him by now, right?
"In fact, he made a deal with me yesterday." Eugene started. "I threatened him with his stocks and it seemee like he needs it more than ever at this dire moment where his business is getting low because of a bunch of high-schoolers causing trouble. And I'm sure you're aware that most of his profit comes from the four affiliates right? So he decided to use us one last time to make the cut for his investment."
M/n listened intently.
"He made a deal and he gave us your identity in exchange of the stocks. I'm sure you get the gist now, right?"
Eugene doesn't seem like he was lying and his tone was pretty playful but sincere. He was gaining a scheme out of his words but he did it for his own entertainment, and that he merely sees M/n as another pawn in a chess game.
How else would he know that it was M/n if no one told him? He's sure Eugene wouldn't have noticed by how busy he was. He was sure.
"I feel pity for you. Even if I don't finish you off right now, his men are bound to haunt after you, have you gone since you know too much. I'm sure you know his plan from the start is to use you as a scapegoat, right? To benefit from both sides."
That sounds familiar.
"I'm aware. He already talked about it from the start— he predicted my death and how I would be reliable enough to give him the information he needs right after. He wouldn't be using the evidence I sent him since all your crimes would trace right back at him, right? In a way, this was his pathetic way of trying. He's still going to keep your organization around because he benefits from it the most. He's simply testing what flaws I would get from the Workers to see your holes and how he'll get someone more anonymous to fully break it without him getting involved." M/n dawned in realization.
But it did not faze him. He was simply speechless by how far it went.
"See? You're quick to catch on." Eugene was pleased.
"Are you not bothered at all? He's using your organization, he plans to break it if the time isn't convenient for him."
"I'll take all the time to developing it. So that when the time comes, it would be something way out of his reach to hold and control." Eugene calmly replied, he seemed confident. He is confident.
"I admire your leadership. In fact, I'm impressed with everyone's way of thinking." M/n started. "It's great, really— though I must admit that it's all too much to take in one day." He breathed. "Aren't you gonna take care of me now since I know too much? I'm defeated, I walked towards a trap like an obedient little mouse."
"No, I think I'll have more fun watching. At this point, I think the Chairman already sent his men."
"You really are something." M/n chuckled as he opened the door, not caring if the car is moving in fast speed. "I'll give them a good chase then, a very good one." He sighed. "I hope you enjoy the show, Eugene."
"I'll be impressed with whatever you manage to do, M/n."
"Gee, thanks."
They would have been the greatest od friends if the circumstance was a little more different.
With a careless step out, he went for the road, rolling down before he stopped his impact with the friction of his hands before he could roll any further. He had a few gashes on his arms and hands but he didn't care.
At first, he did accept his fate. He knows what he was getting himself to. He didn't have a purpose. But now that he had Gun, he felt things he never felt before. He learned to appreciate his own life without relying on his unique way of living— he decided that he wanted to live further.
He wanted to live further to hear Gun say that he loves him in person. He wanted for Gun to complete his promise of buying him that complete set of toy machine. To put simply, he wanted to continue living with him in his life. It was something he could not afford to lose.
He didn't care if he was a wanted man and that the Chairman's men were after his head to silence him.
He had to see Gun.
