The Mansion of Seven Doors

Once upon a time, in a small village near a vast, windy desert, there stood a grand mansion. This mansion wasn’t like any ordinary house—it had seven big doors! It belonged to a rich woman and her three daughters, who lived there peacefully, but with one grave concern. Every night, the rich woman would give strict instructions to her daughters, reminding them of the same warning: “Girls, make sure all seven doors are locked tight before you go to bed. If even one door is left open, the demons from the desert will come inside. They will bring terrible trouble to us!”

You see, in that desert lived two ferocious demons. These demons had been terrorizing the villagers for as long as anyone could remember. Every few nights, they would sneak into the village, causing chaos and destruction. They smashed windows, scared animals, and even tried to break into homes. The people were so terrified of the demons that they always kept their doors locked and windows shut, especially when the sun went down.

But for the rich woman and her daughters, their task wasn’t easy. Locking seven big doors was quite the job. To manage this, the woman had divided the work among her daughters. Each night, one of the girls was responsible for making sure all the doors were properly locked. They took turns, ensuring that every door was checked and securely fastened.

One fateful night, it was the youngest daughter's turn to lock the doors. Now, this young girl had been working outdoors all day, helping in the garden, fetching water, and running errands. She was completely worn out by the time dinner was over. After everyone else went to their rooms to sleep, she began her nightly task.

She locked the first door, then the second, and the third, moving slowly but surely through the mansion. By the time she reached the sixth door, her eyelids were heavy, and her feet dragged across the floor. Her mind was foggy with exhaustion. Without realizing it, she forgot to lock the seventh and final door. Too tired to think, she stumbled to her bed and drifted off to sleep, unaware of the danger that was about to unfold.

As the moon climbed higher in the sky, one of the demons in the desert noticed something unusual—the seventh door of the mansion was wide open! “Aha!” he growled, his eyes gleaming with wickedness. “The fools have left their door open! Now is my chance to get inside.”

The demon crept closer to the mansion and barged in through the open door. Dhum! Dhum! His heavy footsteps echoed through the grand hall. The sound startled the mother awake. She rushed out of her room and saw the demon standing in the middle of their house. Her heart sank in fear.

Turning to her youngest daughter, who had just woken up in a panic, the mother shouted, “This is your fault! You left the door open!”

Before the young girl could respond, the demon reached out with his long, bony fingers and grabbed her. “I’ll take this one with me!” he roared, shoving her into a large, smelly sack. “She will cook for me, clean my cave, and serve me for the rest of her days!”

The mother and the two older sisters were frozen in terror as the demon stormed out of the house, carrying the youngest daughter away.

On his way back to his cave, the demon decided to stop by and visit his friend, another demon who lived nearby. But the first demon didn’t want his friend to know that he had captured a girl. So, he left the sack behind in the bushes and went off to chat.

Meanwhile, inside the sack, the youngest daughter had been thinking quickly. She wasn’t about to give up so easily. As soon as the demon was out of sight, she untied the knot at the top of the sack and crawled out. Looking around, she found some large rocks and placed them inside the sack in her place. Then, without making a sound, she ran all the way back home.

When the demon returned, he hoisted the heavy sack onto his shoulder and trudged back to his cave, humming to himself about the delicious meals the girl would cook for him. But when he opened the sack, he was met with a surprise.

“ROCKS?!” he thundered. “Where is the girl?” His face twisted in anger. “She tricked me! I’ll get her back, and this time she won’t escape!”

Fuming with rage, the demon stormed out of his cave and raced back to the mansion.

Meanwhile, the youngest daughter had already arrived home and told her mother and sisters everything that had happened. They quickly devised a clever plan to get rid of the demon once and for all.

When the demon arrived at the mansion, the house appeared quiet. But just as he was about to break in, he heard the voices of the two older sisters crying loudly. “Oh, poor sister!” they wailed. “She escaped from one demon, only to be caught by the other one!”

The demon’s eyes widened in fury. “What? The other demon has taken her from me?” he growled. “How dare he!”

Without thinking, the demon rushed off to his friend’s cave, convinced that his fellow demon had stolen the girl from him. When he arrived, he didn’t bother asking questions. He attacked his friend in a fit of rage.

The two demons fought ferociously, their roars and growls shaking the desert sand. They wrestled and clawed at each other until, in the end, both of them were defeated. The demons lay in the desert, never to terrorize the village again.

Back at the mansion, the youngest daughter, her sisters, and their mother breathed a sigh of relief. The demons were gone for good. From that night on, the village was peaceful. People no longer lived in fear of the monsters in the desert, and the mansion’s doors stayed safely locked each night, as the three sisters took extra care to make sure nothing was left open again.
