Chapter 3: Breaching the Phantom Line
Enemy Nation's Capital
1 Month Earlier
???'s POV
The beautiful day bustles with sunshine as I walked through my Parliament's garden. A new age of progression had befallen us once our country had been recently invaded by the Statesmen.
Their advance was blood filled and their strike was quick. But once we beat them back with a major counteroffensive their armies had been pounded into submission, it was a glorious celebration on our behalf, having beat them back as far as the river bordering both our nations
I myself was celebrated as well as the first female leader of my country after my father had died early in his life and left me the position, he had previously during the last 16 years of my life, self-taught me everything I needed to know to run the country.
My name? Sara Manning. Madam of my Nation.
I may be young but with what my father had taught me, and with the help of assisting advisors. eventually lead to me taking his place after he died of old age. I rule this country now with an Iron Fist. What can I say? People love me.
General Grave: Madam Manning, the Armed Forces are ready for another offensive. This is the one... the one we've been waiting for
Grave's one of my trusted staff and one of my best Generals, he's the one who commanded the counterattack against the enemy.
Me: That's perfect, what is the objective for it?
Grave: The offensive's aim is to cross the Feldwig River, and penetrate deep into the State's territory, we've already located the perfect bridge to capture.
Me: Oh! The river? I see then, proceed with the Operation. Make sure that the State's defences are shattered, once we're able to get our convoys across the Feldwig and into their Fatherland we'll bust them open like a Walnut.
Grave: Thank you Madame, the soldiers will not disappoint you.
Me: I don't ever tolerate failures Grave. Just remember that, perhaps that's the reason my men haven't ever been severely defeated in the battle against the Green Coats.
Grave: Understood Madame.
Grave saluted, he left me in the garden as I slowly and pridefully took in my surroundings. Breathing in, and exhaling. I smiled.
Me: (Father's Name) L/N, you'll pay for invading our nation.

The Phantom Line, The State
Soldier's POV
It was dawn when they arrived, Fred saw their tanks in the distance. About, a hundred of them, trailed by thousands of infantry. We had to wake everyone up, the enemy's here. I grabbed my rifle, as we all liked up in the trenches, alert and ready.
Fred: Everyone get up!
All soldiers were awake once a tank shell screamed past and impacted behind the line. The enemy's planes blew up the pillbox behind us, mortar fire from the trenches blew up a few of their vehicles, while the tanks began to approach faster.
Me: HOLD YOUR FIRE!
The anti-tank guns were zeroed in on the first tank they saw, bazookas were brought up from the storage facilities. We all aimed at the approaching army while the tanks continued firing at our positions
Soldier 2: Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!
The bazookas fired away, only about half hitting their i tended targets, the AT Guns also gave them hell.
Rocket Trooper: Reload reload!
The various enemy aircraft made another strafing run, this time they came from the right side of the line, firing into the trenches.
Soldier: Shit!
More soldiers, who were delivering the extra rockets, blew up along with the much needed vital ammunition they were delivering.
Soldier 2: Shit! AGAIN!
The tanks were now less than two kilometres away from the Phantom Line, the anti-tank guns fired on as much as they could, infantry began to emerge from their tank shield. Enemy infantry with LMGs held over their shoulders quickly set up positions with their partners, firing suppression shots at the us, I ducked as artillery from Mobile units rained down on us, blowing up another pillbox.
Soldier: Get down!
Enemy Soldier: Smoke grenades up!
Enemy Soldiers threw an abundance of smoke grenades at the line, one soldier fired his SMG into the cloud, hearing the cries of pain from the enemy soldiers hiding in the cloud of smog.
Soldier: They're trying to maneuver!
Soldier 2: How are we supposed to stop them if we don't know how they're maneuvering?
One soldier asked.
Me: There's only one thing we can do!
Soldier 3: Fire!
The tanks and enemy soldiers appeared out of the smoke, while another wave approached from a different angle. Bayoneted rifles charged forward while we desperately fired repeatedly at the enemy wave with out machine guns and rifles.
Soldier: HUAGGH!
One of the enemy soldiers had reached the trench stabbing a random soldier with his bayonet, while another strafing run at the Phantom Line by the opposing aircraft cleared it more of out troops. The enemy soldiers were able to reach the trenches along with their tanks, a molotov burned the operators of one of the Anti-Tank guns as one of their tanks ran it over. Some of our men disabled the tanks by climbing onto them and killing the crew members inside though, and SMGs mowed down troops that were too close to the line.
Soldier 2: I'm out of ammo!
Me: Crap! Me too!
Soldier 4: Hold the line! Hold the line!!
The enemy only began drawing closer and closer to us, with no other choice one of is broke.
Soldier 3: W-wait! I surrender!
One of our soldiers ran towards the enemy soldiers, he was shot to death by an enemy rifleman.
The defenders of the Phantom line began to capitulate one by one, running to or from the enemy. I swore under my mouth as some clearly began to run towards the capital.
Soldier 2: Don't shoot! Please just don't!
Our green-cloaked soldiers ran to the enemy soldiers, who themselves wore white and winter clothing, due to the season of Fall ending soon.
Enemy Soldier: Get on the ground green-clads!
Within moments, thousands of us were flocking towards the enemy, who all began to destroy emplacements or remaining defenders of the Phantom Line.
Enemy Soldier 2: Round em' up ladies and gentlemen! We've broken through the Phantom Line! On to the Capital!
The enemy ranks cheered, we now as POWs were rounded up and loaded onto trucks and what I could only predict are about to be shipped over to holding camps due in the East.
