You smelt of pungent seawater, and sweat, and your clothes were still a bit damp. You could only imagine how bad you looked! There was a mirror not so far from where you were standing, hanging on the wall shimmering in a taunting manner. Hesitantly you stood in front of the mirror to look at your reflection. Your (H/C) hair was a bit more curlier than usual, almost feather soft, shining with an unusually healthy glow, your (E/C) eyes were still dull from exhaustion and lack of food along with subtle dark circles under the bags of your eyes. It shocked you a bit that you looked quite well despite how bad you felt. Turning back to the table you gave your full attention to the small wooden container that was placed in the middle of it. You assumed that there could possibly be food in there; you reached over deliberately to open it, hoping that it would be acceptable to do so. The container was full of what looked like fruit flavored candies. A surge of happiness coursed through you as you tore the wrapper and popped a candy in your mouth, the flavor of the candy was strawberry, and it didn't taste like those cruddy artificial candies. It satisfied your taste buds quite a bit; it was incredibly packed full of fruity flavor! Energy flowed through your body in strong bursts, a new power surged in you; you could take on anything! Your whole body felt completely fine, actually it felt reborn! Was this some kind of magical candy?! You did a little leap towards the door to get some fresh air and possibly run around the deck, but only to open the door and meet the face of Fukami. You let out a surprised squeak and stumbled back a bit, Fukami on the other hand didn't seem phased at all from the startling encounter.
"You're awake, (Y/N)..." The light blue-eyed octopus said, he had a warmer subtle expression on his face.
"Y-yeah... How long was I asleep for?" Silence sliced the air for a brief moment.
"We've been sailing for about three days..."
"Oh?" Your eyes widened a bit, you never imagined that you could be in such a deep slumber for so long. A low grumble was heard from your stomach as it whined for some food, even though that one small candy made you feel completely full.
"Are you hungry?" He asked in his low calming voice.
"I guess so."
"Do you like Takoyaki?"
"Takoyaki?" Tilting your head to the side, your face contorted in confusion.
"Never heard of it I assume..." You nodded, looking back at the sleeping bodies of Wadanohara and her two other familiars. Fukami walked past you to the kitchen area, which had necessary cookware, including and oven, a built-in gas stove, cutting boards, gleaming knives, and pots and pans hanging from a metal wrack. You watched his movements; he was preparing batter, tempura scraps, and what looked like pickled ginger, and some onion (yes these are the actual main ingredients of takoyaki). Then he took out a cutting board, resting one of his pink tentacles on it, he cut down into his own flesh with swift and careful chops, blood was now staining the cutting board.
"Fukami?!" Your mouth was agape from shock. Was he really expecting you to eat part of him?! You could see pieces of his tentacle limply laying there; it made you feel a bit sick.
"My tentacles grow back, it's fine..."
