Chapter Four - Aliza
Drogos Grants is an incredibly handsome man. A lot of celebrities doesn't come close to his looks!
She found herself fanning the imaginary stream away after her attractive boss left the kitchen. She was amazed by how good-looking he was up close. She had never seen anyone with genes like the handsome Mr. Grants.
I can't believe I tried to joke with my boss like that. She cringed as she remembered the horrible joke about her love life. He probably thinks I'm a little immature now.
Her thoughts flashed back to one of the pictures she remembered seeing. Drogos stood with a beautiful lady and the cutest kid. She remembered the child had to be around twelve years, and had curly, red hair. As for the woman, she was strikingly beautiful. With her small mouth and smooth features that made her look like a doll. So that beautiful woman with gorgeous pearly hair must be his wife.
“Miss. Rucker.”
“Yes?” She snapped from her thoughts at the new voice.
The man that stood in front of her now was a little taller than Drogos. His frame was more bulky than Drogos. Brown hair covered his lower face in a mustache and short beard. He wore a nice, tailored suit, unlike the butler one Boggle wore.
“You may call me Albert. I'm a member of the Grants.” He placed his right hand over his chest and bent at the torso. “I wish to extend my greetings.”
I guess he's not from here either. She noticed the bows he gave and thought of her co-worker. “Oh well, since we are saying hello, you can call me by my first name as well.”
“I hope you don't mind me using Miss. Aliza.” He locked his hands behind his back. “I'm a gentleman at heart, but I won't subject you to the ways of a long gone society.”
“Not at all, but I will call you, Sir Albert.” She placed one palm over the back of her other at her front while giving him a polite smile. “I am a lady, after all. And you look like a gentleman to the T.”
A small smile tilted the corners of his mouth. “Might I offer you a few suggestions for tonight, Miss. Aliza?”
“Sure, I'll take any tips you can give. I'm no server. Cleaning – yes.”
“I won't trouble you with the finer details of serving. Your main task is to keep the table full and stay out of sight.” He walked over to the counter, staring at the already prepared dishes. “However, the master has invited you as a guest, so I would set the table as quickly as possible “
“Before the guests arrive, gotcha.”
“These dishes look sumptuous. A gift for food art, perhaps?”
“Nope, a bit of self-taught and a bunch of free online classes.” She crossed over to look over her hard work once more. “I'm glad I took an interest. Food really does taste better when it looks tasty.”
“I feel the same way about an intelligent lady.”
“Are you saying you find smart women tasty?”
A twinkle of mischievous entered his eyes. “Not exactly tasty. Beautiful would be the word.” He lowered his voice a few octaves. “But to answer your question: I find a specific intelligent lady tasty.”
Aliza did a show of faking a gasp. “Who is this lucky maiden, Sir Albert? Do tell.”
Albert shook his head from side to side. “Afraid I can not, Miss. Aliza. If I do, I might have to cut out my tongue.”
She covered her mouth with her hand. “Oh dear. We don't want that. At least not before you reveal her.”
“A delight you are, Miss. Aliza.” He gave another bow. “Have a pleasant evening.”
She gave a short curtsy. “You as well, Sir Albert.”
With his departure, Aliza felt a bud of blooming friendship blossoming in her chest. She liked Albert, even though he seemed like an uptight prick. She had a feeling that he didn't show his playful side much.
