Memories Pt. 1
By now Dean, Sam, Lily, Azure, and Cas were all stuffed into the Impala, both Lily and Azure envied the two brothers in the front seats as they both got their own personal space while Azure and Lily were stuck squished next to each other with Cas being squished against the door. Cas didn't seem to mind it in the slightest though, and if he did he certainly wasn't showing it as he kept a straight face the entire time. The location they were headed was Phoenix, Arizona. Let's just say Lily wasn't looking forward to the heat, at all. The drive would be roughly 32 hours so team free will would have some time to kill on the road before the possibly 'big' confrontation between team free will and Metatron. Staring out the window absent-minded and listening to Anathema by Twenty One Pilots among other songs only kept Lily busy for about 3 hours, which left around 29 hours to kill. They made a pit stop or two along the way for food and gas but for the most part they were just driving and driving, eventually Lily and Azure fell asleep and Sam and Dean switched places so Dean could get a little shut eye. The next morning Lily and probably everyone else who had managed to sleep woke up stiff and uncomfortable. Lily's thoughts eventually wandered back to her old angel life, according to her vague memories, she had once held importance in the angel hierarchy. Lily did somewhat remember her interactions with other angels but for the most part it was pretty foggy. Lily did, however, remember a few things, she remembered when she was created, what she was like before she fell, and what sparked her rebellious thoughts about stopping the apocalypse and saving humanity in the first place.
~Flashback~
Her consciousness had come out of nowhere, there had been and empty void there, always had been, until suddenly there wasn't. When she was created the first thing that she saw was a man smiling warmly down at her,
"Hello."
His voice held power and the air was electrified with energy the second he spoke. Though she didn't quite know who he was she knew he was a being of immense respect.
"Who am I?"
He chuckled at her question, like he expected her to ask that but was amused anyway.
"You're name is Ashriel."
"What am I?"
He smiled warmly, clearly happy to answer all her questions.
"You are a Seraph angel of the Lord. As such, thou shalt carry out thy Lord's word with honor and holy virtue."
She paused for a moment,
"Who are you?"
He grinned like he was proud of her for asking,
"I am the Lord, thy holy father."
~End of Flashback~
Lily grimaced at the memory, she had incredibly mixed feelings about her father. Lily remembered what she was like when she still called herself Ashriel, she had acted as heartless and cruel as any other angel but underneath all that was a carefully hidden curiosity about humans. Even further buried under that was an emptiness, like something was missing. She had seen once in a lifetime things in her angel life, stars being born, supernovas, the first sin, yet It had only been in her final moments as she was plummeting to the Earth that she had finally grasped what she had felt was missing ever since she was created all those eons ago, her free will. Lily had always felt like she wasn't supposed to have her parents, like she had been born in the wrong family or something, and after all that time it had finally made sense. Lily then thought about the memory that was probably the most important in her angel life. The memory that sparked Lily's rebelliousness stuck out in her head quite clearly.
