Let the Games Begin

"Mr. Stark! Dad!" Peter cried as he ran over to his unconscious body in the ground. Tony was still unconscious, even after the chairs had been taken away. Peter harshly fell to his knees as he placed his head on Tony's Arc reactor.  "Wake up! Wake up, please!" He wailed. He pulled him closely to his chest and cried. He could not loose another dad, he didn't know what he would do if Mr. Stark died. Tony continued to lie unresponsive on the ground, while the other team members decided to give Peter some space. After what felt like hours, Peter heard a soft voice. A voice that he could never forget even if he tried.

"Peter?" His eyes lit up at the sound. The deep, soft voice of his mentor.

"You're ok!" Peter held onto Tony even tighter than before. Tony just blinked slowly as offered a small smile, though he was confused on what had happened. "I was so scared! Don't do that again!" He sobbed into Tony's shirt. Tony pulled him in closer, still confused on where he was and why Peter was so shaken up. Peter had never been like this, even after May was hospitalized or when Ben had died. He was terrified, shaking from head to toe, his eyes bloodshot and his cheeks covered in dry tear tracks and recently added drops of water.

"Of course I'm ok, Bambi. Why wouldn't I be?" Tony asked with hesitation as he sat up on the wall behind him, never loosening his embrace with Peter. Comfort was all Peter had ever wanted, but it didn't seem to be enough at the moment.

Suddenly, Tony became aware of his surroundings and saw everyone with tears on their faces and solemn looks. "Come to think of it," Tony looked around the room once again at all the Avengers with panicked looks on our faces. Shuri was in the corner being comforted my T'Challa and Bucky, while the rest of them were huddled in a corner with pale appearances and wide eyes. "Where are we?"

Peter tensed at the question and sighed deeply; Tears still pouring down his face. "Nobody knows where we are. But T-Tony, you gatta promise me you'll stay safe. I can't loose you!"

Now Tony was extremely confused.

"Peter, what are you talking about? You won't loose me." Tony put his soft, delicate fingers through the small boys hair. God the kid didn't deserve this.

"Mr.Starke, y-you were un-unresponsive in the chair," Peter began. His eyes wide as saucers and he pulled away from Tony's grip looking him right in the eyes. Somehow he composed himself before speaking again. "Mr.Stark I love you. You know that. But we were taken to this place by a man who we don't know." Peter paused and licked his lips. Tony was very uncomfortable from the sudden change in persona, but he decided to ignore his discomfort. "There are rules. If you disobey them, we are killed. There are games. If you loose, you die. And Tony I don't want you to go!" Peter wailed into Tony's chest. "Promise me, promise me you won't!"

Needless to say Tony was not prepared for that. Tony had promised to keep the kid safe along with everyone else. Nobody would get to Peter without going through him first, and that was damn near impossible. Tony was still confused on the situation but chose to try and console Peter anyways.

"Sh, sh Bambi. I'm sure we won't die. Is alright. You're probably in shock. I pro-" Rhodey then approached the duo slowly, head bowed and arms behind his back.

"Tony, actually." Rhodey interrupted as he took a seat next to his friend. He had a sorrowful and terrified look in his eyes. Tony had never seen him like this.

"Tony, we-we are in a situation that- god- I don't know where to start." Rhodey cleared his throat and I hailed deeply before drops of tears began to escape from his eyes. Peter let go of Tony and hugged Rhodey so he can have some comfort while looking up into his eyes with an innocent childlike look as he continued.

"Rhodey..." Tony began, becoming mildly freaked out from this completely out of character action.

"Tony. I'm not going to sugar coat it. Half of us are going to die. And we have 23 hours before these sick twisted killing games start." Rhodey's eyes were wide and unfocused. Nobody has ever seen him like this. He took a deep breath and continued. "Tony your number is 4, Alright? Man you have to promise me you'll get out of here alive, ok?" Rhodey turned to face Tony. Tony's expression was unreadable. He seemed to be in shock. They sat there for another 5 minutes before tony said anything.

"No."

"No?" Rhodey and Peter questioned.

"This isn't real. This is a-a sick joke." Tony stood up and began pacing.

"No, I just got engaged, this isn't happening. It's not. Guys this isn't funny!" Tony was becoming more and more panicked.

"Nonononono- This can't be ha- no... No!" Tony hopped onto his feet and ran around looking for an exit, Rhodey and Peter following closely. None of them had explored the room yet, but it seemed to be really sketchy so none of them really wanted to anyways. Tony soon found a mysterious door on the other side of the room, hidden from where they had been previously. Everyone saw Tony begin to walk towards the door and shot up.

"Tony! You need to back away from that door, now!"Bruce yelled as he jogged over. "I know this situation is awful but Jigsaw never mentioned the door."

"It might be a trap Natasha added. We can't have you dying already."

"C'mon, Tone." Steve coaxed Tony to back away, and he say he was on the verge of a panic attack.

Tears escaped Tony's eyes as he sunk to the ground, his head in his hands. This team was like family to him and he couldn't loose them. He had just gotten engaged to Pepper and he had gotten a "son", who also might be dead by the end of this. Who would do such a thing? Kidnapping a family and killing them one by one? What would anyone get out of this? What kind of sick twisted monster would do this. Eventually everyone crowded around and they all formed a big group hug around Tony who had tears rolling off of his face. This broken family was about to be torn apart and they might not be able to hug ever again, so they all savored the moment hoping and praying they'd never have to let go.

"I love you guys..." Natasha whispered before they all fell into a restless slumber.

OoOoOo

The first one to wake was Thor the next morning. Since he was on the outside of the group, he proceeded to stand up and walk around. He never really did have time to comprehend what happened, but soon enough he knew he would break. Yes, he's seen horrible, awful deaths, but none of which were of his new Midguardian family. The room was dark and very silent, until soft little song began to play and child's laughter filled the room, sounding like a disturbing version of You Are My Sunshine.  Suddenly, he heard them. The music turned off and instantly he was met with screams. He began to slowly follow the noise in the room. He heard the awful sounds that nobody else seemed to hear. The group was still lying on the floor sleeping soundly. Thor turned around to look at the group, but looked away quickly, unwilling to disturb his families last hug they might ever have. Then the screams grew.

He heard the voices of the people.

His people.

Screams of children, scared mothers and horrified soldiers.

The people of Asgard.

Thor's expressions and movements became panicked and quick. He needed to see where it was coming from. He promised to keep his people safe.

"Hello!?" He yelled and his voice bounced off the walls. Still, his family remained silent. The screams were becoming more and more urgent and pained and Thor could finally pinpoint the source of such horrid sounds.

The door.

Thor ran up quickly to the door but paused. The team had deliberately said not to open this door, but the screams only grew. The people were calling out to him, screaming for him to save them. Thor couldn't take it anymore and yanked open the door only to be greeted by a mask like face with blood red eyes and a sunken in face. His cheeks had red swirls on them and his skin was as white as chalk.

"Imagination is the only weapon against reality. Are you, ready?"

Suddenly it lunges at him and Thor is frozen in fear for the first time in his life.

And once again Thor wakes up with a jolt. He looked around confused about what had just happened, but if it didn't really happen then he swore it had to mean something.

Thor day and waited for everyone to wake up, which wasn't long considering they all had the same sleep schedule. His eyes were still wide with fear as his nightmare kept playing in his mind. Though the group was near each other at all times Thor kept closer than usual, which didn't really alarm the family considering their current awful predicament.

The family silently grieved the whole day and decided to tell stories of all the fun times they had shared together to cheer everyone up. Shuri, Peter, Tony, and T'Challa all day near each other the whole day. They had all gotten so close due to the bonds the teens had with one another and became the closest pack within the group. Peter was also really close with Wanda, Natasha, and Rhodey while Shuri was with Steve, Thor, and Clint. Everyone in the room had an incredibly close bond with each other though, and it shows once you see the love in their eyes when they are all together. This continued until they were at the 10 minute mark for starting. Peter began to silently cry and cling to Natasha who was the closest thing to a motherly figure at the moment.

"Auntie Nat, I-I dont want us to go! You guys are all I have!" He cried in a miserable voice.

"It's alright, ребенок паук, it'll all be ok." She soothed him as she ran fingers through his hair, which everyone knew calmed Peter down the most.

Slow disfigure piano music began to play throughout the room all of a sudden, making the group jump and shudder. Tears began to trickle down their faces. One of them was going to die really soon and for now it was just the waiting game.

"Hey guys..." Scott began. He cleared his throat and looked down at his lap and he continued to talk in a soft voice, afraid his voice would break any second. "Just know, no matter what happens I love you guys with all my heart. Even you birdbrain." Scott smirked.

Clint gave a watery smile. "Hey!"

Everyone chuckled for the first time since they were at the compound front their childlike tendencies.

They all then went and hugged eachother and comforting eachother telling themselves it'll be ok.

All was ok until it was time.

The music stopped playing and Thors eyes widened from remembering how similar this was to his dream. Once again the teens of the group began to cry, only to be held by one of the other members.

"It's time. Say your goodbyes to each other because you will be split up into 2 groups of 7 each. Then within the group, 3 or 4 of you will go into a different room for the games to begin." The voice they all grew to hate stated in a deep monotone voice.

"I have already picked the groups for all of you. Once your group is picked, you will stand where I place you or else there will be consequences. You will never see the opposing team again until our games have finished, that is if you survive as well." There was a demonic laughter and the creepy music began to play again and the lights went pitch black, causing a scream from the group. Everyone was holding onto one another as tightly as they could, not ready to leave their loved ones.

"Group one: 1(Peter), 2(Shuri), 6(Steve), 7(Bruce), 10(Sam), 12(Scott), and 13(Wanda)." All of s sudden, there were screams and cries as they were yanked from the group in the pitch black darkness to a far side of the room.

"Group two: 3(Bucky), 4(Tony), 5(Natasha), 8(Clint), 9(Rhodey), 11(Thor), and 14(T'Challa)."

Steve began to sink against the wall covering his face with his hands and everyone else openly sobbed.

"Dad! Daddy! I don't wanna go! Please! I don't wanna go!" Peter screamed for Tony. The group began to be shoved out of the room. Peter's screams were incredibly loud and broken. None of them had heard screams that loud before. From across the room, his voice soon fading to nothing as the were taken away from from the family for the last time.

"You might think that I am the bad guy here, and blame me for all this bloodshed, but really you are the criminals. You have all killed and carry on like it's not a problem, but really what you have done has greatly effected so many people. You will learn to appreciate the things you have and have compassion for others, but your wrong doings have brought this upon yourselves."

"MR.STARK!"

OoOoOo

"1, 2 And 13. It's time."

"Nonononono! Stop... STOP IT...STOP!!!"
