you are at the launch event for doctor Harrison Wells' particle accelerator looking to write a story on it 

"excuse me" you say as you push through the crowd. three minutes you make it to the front of the crowd. Another few minutes later and doctor wells has given his opening speech and is taking questions from  the audience 

"Dr Wells," you say grabbing his attention

"obviously the pros of the particle accelerator outweigh the cons but if something goes wrong what are the fail-safes in place if something does go wrong?" you ask

"the fail-safes place are the best in place and we do have scientists monitoring the activity," he says avoiding the question 

"there is no need to worry"

thirty minutes later and you are back at your apartment writing the story on the particle accelerator when you look outside the window and you notice something strange about what is causing the rain 

"talk about fail-safes" you mutter in disgust.

A moment later a wave of energy sweeps through your apartment knock you off your chair but you get up as if nothing happened. 

A day later you are at your desk your story for central picture news when you are interrupted

"Hey (Y/N)," Iris West says as she sits down at the desk next to you

"Hello Iris you don't look too happy," you say noticing a depressed look on her face

"what's wrong?" 

"It's Barry he is in a comma," Iris says
