Chapter 16 - Family

"Ahhh I'm full!" Taeyeon exclaimed, patting her stomach as the two students walk out from the curry rice restaurant.

"Me too. Food was good." Baekhyun looked around, breathing in the cool air.

"More like AWESOME." Taeyeon claimed her bag from Baekhyun's shoulder, not wanting to trouble him anymore for it was heavy, especially when he has to carry his as well.

"Tch..." Baekhyun just smirked and walked away. "Hey wait up!" Taeyeon struggled to catch up. "You have a bad habit of making people chase you." She chided, slapping his arm.

"Yah! It hurts!" He squeaked in pain, his voice slightly breaking at the end. Taeyeon started laughing loudly, earning stares from people.

"Are you going through puberty where your voice breaks when you speak?" Her laughter that sounded so much like an ahjumma's made Baekhyun laugh too.

"Your laughter's like an old lady's." He couldn't hold it in anymore and collapsed to the ground, holding his stomach in pain from laughing too much.

"Aw man. Even the girls says that." Taeyeon pouted and walked away solemnly.

"Hey wait up!" It was Baekhyun's turn to catch up to her. "I'm being honest though." He smiled. "I know it myself." Taeyeon giggled.

"You know sometimes I wished I could change my laughter." Taeyeon said honestly as they walked side by side under the countless street lamps along the walkway.

The next day...

"We're home!!" Two voices hollered at the same time early in the morning. Only the sound of birds replied them.

"Are the kids still sleeping?" Taeyeon's mother looked around the house. Only the maids in sight bowed at them before continuing their duties.

"I guess so. It's a saturday after all." Baekhyun's father dragged the luggage he had in hand in front of him.

It is a Saturday, the day where all students would take the opportunity to sleep as much as they can and enjoy themselves as much as they wanted, before the homework torture starts on Sunday. Unless they're total geeks who don't enjoy life at all, but knowing Baekhyun, he'd sleep until noon whilst Taeyeon would go out with the girls, just not this early.

Honestly, we all know Baekhyun does no homework.

"I'll bring up the luggages in the trunk?" A maid approached them. "Yes please, thank you. Oh and be careful with some packages. They're gifts." Taeyeon's mother smiled before heading up to Taeyeon's room. "Yeonnie-ah, mom's home." She sat on the edge of the bed.

"Hmm? Eomma?" Taeyeon peeked one eye open despite the sleepiness and when she realised her mom's back, she lunged into her embrace.

"Finally mom's back." Taeyeon snuggled in her mother's lap. "How's my princess?" Her mother chuckled. "Good." Taeyeon smiled before drifting back to sleep. "Sleepyhead." Her mother smiled.

"Baekhyun, how's my boy doing?" Baekhyun's father stepped into his son's room and fought the urge to let his laughter out at his son's ridiculous sleeping position. He was sprawled on the bed, his head hanging out.

"How do you even sleep this way..." Baekhyun's father lifted his head and settled him properly on the pillow before pulling the covers over his son's body. Baekhyun snuggled warmly as he sighed in his sleep.

"Aigoo my boy's gotten stronger." Baekhyun's father didn't miss the fact that Baekhyun had worked out, considering the size difference from two weeks ago.

"Sleep well." Baekhyun's father then left the room, closing the door shut quietly. He met his wife halfway down the hallway. They went down to the master bedroom and unpacked as they wait for the kids to wake up.

"Kiddos, we're going for late lunch. Go change." Baekhyun's father informed as he reads his newspapers. The two who were halfway through the stairs in their messy bed hair and pyjamas halted in their steps.

"I guess we have to go back up." Taeyeon stated the obvious, still half awake. "Yea. Let's go." They then turned around and walked up the steps in such synchronization it surprised the couple watching them in amusement.

"They actually got along well when we stopped monitoring them." Taeyeon's mother chuckled as she settled a glass of water on the coffee table. "Are you going to tell them?"

"We'll tell them later over lunch."
