Lunar eclipse
The RDC news studio, is alive with flurried movements and silent gestures. It sings with bated breathe and daunting stares, this is no strange occurrence, but today there is a special feel to everything happening in the studio. At the central edge, where most of the hanging and hand controlled cameras are on, a large m-shaped oak table encloses four persons.
Genevieve is by the right; seated on a swivel chair, wearing a golden red jumpsuit, her legs are crossed, and though the make up artiste is dabbing a soft brown brush all over face (she prefers very light makeup) her dark eyes are trained on three persons seated three steps away.
Her eyes scan the father, Mr Black for the hundredth time since he stepped in, he isn't striking handsome or even handsome, she notes and though he towers over her five feet nine inch, he is very muscled and has a faint smile on his face.
The mother, is a head shorter than her husband, and is notably slim. Did she truly raise a nineteen year old? Genevieve is unsure how many children she has birthed, since she has no semblance of motherhood, to begin with.
Genevieve resists a glance at the girl in the middle, she notes that the girl hasn't looked up since she ushered them into the news desk. The make up artiste holds a mirror up (thankfully not in her face) and Genevieve all but rolls her head to the other side. Point taken, the makeup artist packs up and exits the M-enclosed area.
Choi, the head camera gives the signal, and her eyes dart between her 'literal' boss, (who is seating close to camera guys, technicians and their array of cameras) and the large clock that is about to strike ten. As always, and in the hardest manner in which she learnt to tame her anxiety, she recalls that this is not the end..... and she wont fumble...... She counts one to nothing and takes a deep breath.
"Hello and welcome to today's program, I am Genevieve akin and am your host". She decides to never in all the time she would be live and on this program, spare a glance at three figures seating close to the cameras (her boss, and two executives) they'd be her doom and the sharp scissors to tear down the calmness in her belly.
"This is over a month, and the tension surrounding the laâve app is very much present, with our series of interviews and correspondents from different parts of the word we note that parents reactions are very much varied from outright horror, to rage filled request to close down the laâve app".
"While some of them, have taken actions in which they deemed best like taking away their children's mobile phone, others have condemned it and stepped up their act by cutting off their internet access or limiting their hours on the internet".
The camera has yet to reveal the girl seated at the other side, and Genevieve takes her time to flip through people's commentary on their questions through their various social media handles. The comments are boldly displayed on the screen, and there are chances of even catching the time of commentary.
"It's in this light that we have made a poll on our verified twitter page, and questioned teens, since they are the most affected users of the app. The results is glaring with various comments, that there is absolutely nothing wrong or upsetting or even bewitching as some say, about the laâve app".
"With me here, in the studio is Mr and Mrs Black and their ever popular daughter, miss Lavender. We thank you for honouring this invitation".
She turns her head to smile at the camera, "let's go on this commercial break, when we come back... we will be starting a three course meal, and of course we just rounded up on the appetizer. Stay tuned.

The camera is in dialogue mood. With the girl and her parents in full viewing. Though the girl sits in between her parents, she doesn't participate in the ongoing discussion with Genevieve.
"As a parent, I understand the uneasy and premonition behind this fiasco, in the earliest week the fiasco started I discovered two things; one that an app like laâve existed and my daughter was in the middle of a brewing storm.
Like every parent, I questioned her, and even logged in with her account to see things for myself, there is no denying that I understood her and praised her motive. I was greatly relieved that while we struggled with one child, we weren't on the edge of loosing another child to unhappiness or depression or possible self harm".
Mrs black spoke next, her voice wasn't as boisterous as her husband but it demanded attention. "I have had too many talks with parents, especially those living around us and I hope this interview settles it".
"If the government and the owners of the app don't take a step in closing the app, then the burden shouldn't be passed on to my family, I think everyone has been so busy talking about the worst possible scenario that they don't see or chose to ignore the effort my daughter is making, towards helping people who may have been in a similar situation, they are clamoring for instant judgment on a teenager whose motives has been to heal and teach others that they can overcome whatever they are going through and how not to heal or relieve their pain, granted that my daughter can't solve their problems, but it becomes her business when people unload their fears or express their feelings on her laâve space. As a therapist, i know firsthand, what people experience when they bottle up their pain".
"I can't help but describe it as disheartening when people —em— parents come to her fan page or her page and write up all sort of harmful words, calling her an attention whore, making racist statements and body shaming her, for someone whose only motive is to heal and help others heal, this is utterly disheartening".
"These people are over thirty and there about, they make accounts and read from scratch to finish her entire message board and still can't find any thing nice to say, its breaks my heart not only for my daughter, but the children of this people.
How do they treat their children?
What's their reaction to their children getting help?
Have they acknowledged the fact that they need help and may knowing or unknowingly be hurting their children?
Can or will their children confide in them?"
"I see some remarks, and I wonder what kind of persons are behind the screen, and I see myself as a parent and I think, what if it wasn't Lavender, what if if it was another thoughtful teen just trying to help in her own little way, will I go on her page and write hurtful things about her or even her parents?".
"The answer is no, I may be cautious and worried and even warn my daughter to thread carefully, but I will never stoop so low or turn so callous".
The studio is covered with deep silence save for tiny sounds from machineries as she speaks her last word, and Genevieve barely compose herself as she offers a third break, and an entry into the third meal; Lavender's point of view.
