Love Is Gone

Ratchet and Rivet were very happy together. Married for seventeen years, they even have two boys together.

Life couldn't be more perfect...

But not as perfect now...

Over time they didn't have the same spark as they used to when they'd first met back in 2004

Rivet didn't love Ratchet anymore. Rivet thought about this for a long time now and it was the time to do it.

She walked into the Gameroom that day. Ratchet was playing Minecraft on the gaming computer on Twitch. Ratchet heard her come in and he smiled, then turned in his seat.

"Hey, babe... what's up?" he asked. Getting up he was about to kiss her, then Rivet stopped him from moving any farther.

"Ratchet, stop." Rivet said.

Ratchet frowned in concern. His facial expression also showed worry.

"Riv, what's wrong?" he asked.

Rivet said nothing but took her prosthetic hand and took off both her wedding and engagement rings. She then stood there as she dropped them in his open hand.

Then she finally spoke the final words.

"Where through, Ratchet."

His heart broke into a million pieces

"What? Rivet-"

"Ratchet, I don't love you anymore..... It's not like it used to be. The fire burned out years ago..."

Tears welled up in his eyes. He tried not to cry. The woman he loved. Cherished, hugged, and kissed so many times, played PlayStation with. Went on guest appearances on YouTube, and went to countless interviews, vacations, and parties skateboarded.

Even started a family and had kids.

It all vanished in a blink of an eye.

"Rivet—"

"My love for you is Gone , Ratchet," she said looking at him.

A week later, Ratchet stood there with RJ and Roy, RJ and Ro had their backpacks on and Roy and his brother had been crying for the past week.

They didn't want to leave Los Angeles, their friends, or their neighbors. Even their school they were leaving behind, and they were going somewhere possibly more dangerous than the place they grew up in.

But they had to. Rivet wanted to do one per month.

But, what about school?

Rivet is going to get them up, shoot the dimensionator so they can get Starbucks or breakfast somewhere, then they can go to school.

Roy and RJ hugged their dad. "I'll see you next month," he said, smiling.

But inside he was hurting.

Ratchet let the tears fall as he saw them enter the rift.

When it closed, Ratchet fell to his knees in 'their' house and cried. He cried and cried until he couldn't cry anymore.

Rivet woke up and rolled over, she gasped as she saw Ratchet, his eyes were squeezed shut. Tears were streaming down his face and staining his pillow.

"Chet?" she asked, shaking his shoulder.

Ratchet jolted awake. He felt hot tears roll down his furry cheeks. He took his hand and wiped the tears. He looked over and started tearing up again. But he didn't stop them this time. He hugged her.

"Rach.... What's wrong?" Rivet asked. Ratchet sniffled and put his chin on her shoulder and kept his eyes shut.

"I-i had a nightmare...." he whimpered.

She frowned when she heard these words "Oh, Ratchet...." she said.

"What was it about?" she asked. "Our.... our love was gone," he said crying.

"A-and you took Roy and RJ to Sargasso and I only had them for a month and-" He started sobbing.

Rivet rubbed his back to help him calm down. Ratchet starts to purr when she does this. Rivet stopped doing it and broke the hug and saw the tears still stuck on his fur.

She got up, opened the lights to their master bathroom and grabbed a small towel, ran it under cold water. Then she came back with it and cleaned him up. It reminded her of when RJ and Roy were babies and they would get food all over their faces.

"Better?" Rivet asked, walking back to the bathroom and hanging them up on the towel rack.

Ratchet nodded.

Rivet smiled and punched him lightly in the arm. "Dude! You know I will never leave you!" she said

Ratchet smiled and kissed her deeply.

"I love you, baby..."

"I love you too, Chet."

Then they both went to sleep.

Notes:Wow! So, this took every ounce of courage that I had to make this fic. I couldn't stop tearing up at the thought of them breaking up. I know they are fictional characters but still! You feel a connection between these characters, it's.... It's crazy! I had to find the perfect breakup songs for this fic.

It took me two hours to even type this up because I couldn't stop crying., but I did it! I hope you guys will enjoy this one!
