Chapter 8: Analia

The dragon in front of us is gigantic. It has a brown colour, like the dog it was before, but now, the small ears are turned into big antennas, I guess? The tongue is forked, like a snake's, the furry skin is now scaly and the small tail it once had, is now a huge flail.

"Come on, Analia. And close your mouth before a fly goes inside it and builds a house in there," Prince Drake says with a chuckle.

I close my mouth that was wide open after seeing the magic. This is like the Faerie world I've read about in books, only there is no such thing as a faerie world, but a place called 'Good and Bad souls' with magic. I look at the prince, wondering if he would curse me with some type of magic if I asked. He notices me looking at him and gives me a bored look that says 'what do you want?' and I quickly look away.

Why is he like this?

Before (When I just woke up)

I woke up somewhere near 7. Outside it wasn't snowing, but clouds were engulfing the whole city, and it looked like the clouds were the sky. There was still snow on the ground though, and there were some people shoveling it.

Kyra and Laura came into my room, helped me get ready (I had a bath myself, thank you), and were just giving me the final touches.

I was wearing a white gown. The neck of the gown was long, covering my whole neck from the back, but left the front of my neck open. It had crystals on it, that shone in the light. The dress was embroidered with such delicate designs I almost gasped while staring at it.

Suddenly, I noticed something. My hair, always a tangled mess and wavy, was entangled in like a few seconds and my irritating wavy hair was now straight, and I clearly remember they didn't use a hair straightener.

"How are you so quick? My hair is a nightmare and it took you a few seconds for it to look like a model's," I asked.

"Are you really not that observant?" Laura asked. I controlled myself from rolling my eyes.

"Well, you gonna tell me what magic you do or what?"

"So... I can make anyone pretty. I basically have makeup magic. I can make you look beautiful and completely different in just some seconds, though it depends on how strong you want the magic. You know, magic drains quite a lot of your energy. Wait, how would you know? You're a princess, so you're stronger than us," Kyra answers.

"You know you don't have to be sarcastic. I was just asking. What do you actually do?" I say.

They both look at each other, both Kyra and Laura confused. Hold on... This can't be true, right? Do they not know I'm not the Princess?

"So, you are telling me you have magic?!" I exclaim.

"We all do Princess. All of us have some type of magic. Laura can clean a place so it is spotless. Not one particle of dust would be leftover. I thought you figured that out. You should know this..." Kyra looks at me suspiciously and doesn't stop staring at me.

Wow, I mean, WOW! I mean they were already so beautiful and... Different, but this? Do they have magic?!

But I don't think they know the truth about me, so I guess I have to pretend like I know everything.

"Yeah, yeah, of course, I know. Why wouldn't I? But, does that mean Prince Drake has magic too? What kind of magic does he have?" I ask curiously.

They both tense after hearing my question. Does he not have magic?

"Prince Drake has one of the strongest magic. He can curse you. He just needs to say it and you would be cursed. But because of... Um... Circumstances, he never uses it. He has never cursed anyone for a long time." Laura replies.

"That is why many people in our kingdom don't want him to become king. They are against it and have tried to attack him. He is not safe," Laura says. If looks could kill, Kyra's look to Laura would have killed her. She can be scary.

But at least I now know, I can get information out of Laura easily. I smirk and decide to bombard her with more questions later on.

But wow, he could curse people. He could control everyone in the kingdom if he wanted, but then, why did he stop?

Back to the present

"If you are done being in your own world, we would like to leave Analia," he says, bringing me back to the present.

"What if we die riding on that thing? We could just horse ride or something, not that I know how to, but on a damn dragon?" I whine.

"If you are not getting on this dragon, I am going to have to carry you here. So better get yourself on here," he says, but not in his usual angry and annoyed tone.

He is probably giving me some good treatment before I die.

But this actually does look fun. I walk to the dragon and two guards, who look so strong they could fight a bull, help me up.

The dragon feels soft under me. It looks scaly but feels like silk. There are spikes, separating our seats and something to hold onto in front of us.

Camara, Samantha, and Prince Andrew get on too.

"Hi, Ana! It's good to see you again. Are you ready?" Prince Andrew asks.

Wow, already on a pet name basis.

But at least, I have someone I am comfortable talking to.

"I am ready. I feel nervous, but I can do this." I reply.

He is about to ask me something else when the dragon lifts into the air and off we go. I hold on tightly onto the dragon, clinging onto it for my life.

The cool wind blows against my face as the dragon gets faster and faster. My hair starts flying in the air and sticking in my face.

Below me, I can see the whole city pass in a flash. My eyes get bleary from the fast wind and I want to wipe the water from my eyes, but I am not letting go of the dragon.

I want to close my eyes and enjoy the cool wind against my face, but I don't want to miss the view in front of me and under me.

Samantha looks like she might just puke now and everyone else is just unaffected.

Camara came ready. She made a bun, so her hair doesn't get messy.

Prince Andrew looks like he is enjoying this. His eyes are closed and he is wearing a hat to cover his face.

Prince Drake is just so... Normal like he does this all the time. His hair is flying in the air as the wind pushes against it, making it messy. The hair is threatening to go into his eyes, but he doesn't close his eyes. He looks straight ahead.

Like the Sun wants to make him look even better, the light falls on his face at such an angle, a part of his face and his eyes are shining. They are making his eyes look more intense.

He looks like a king, sitting on his dragon, proud of what he has done, but still, something bothering him, deep down inside.

He notices me staring at him and looks at me, his intense blue eyes boring into mine. I just can't stop staring. We stay like that for some quiet moments, where the only sound we hear is the wind blowing against us.

The dragon takes a sharp turn, making me jump and lose eye contact with him. He gives a low chuckle, almost inaudible, and looks ahead. I follow his eyes, to look at a huge city, or kingdom I should say, covered with what looks like a transparent, but not invisible, shield, keeping it secure from any danger.

It is huge and beautiful. I can see trees of many colors, huts, not big buildings, except for one palace. From the sight of it, I take it that this is The Good Souls kingdom.

I take a deep breath and the dragon swoops down to enter what looks like a gate.

Here we go...
