◕ 4. ALLURE

THE HIGH RISE of mountains surrounded the humongous pack for miles and miles. It was accumulated of rich villages, markets, and smaller castles.

Surrounded by borders of large water with terraces of rock and greens, this pack was unique and protected.

When Beta Damon surrendered, the warriors respectfully made their way back to the pack and told all the pack members. We were given one hour to pack before sunrise, then another group of warriors from the Prime Regiment pack came with fancy large carriages for us to ride in.

Everything had happened so quick. Everyone was still confused. Beta Damon had fallen silent since he gave up his authority...but I couldn't help but feel honor towards him. He gave up his power so his pack could have a chance at a better life.

But my main curiosity was towards Alpha Adonis.

"I can't believe this..." Hanna said looking out of the carriage. "I don't..."

"I know." I told her with equal disbelief.

She glances at me before smiling to herself. "I wondered why this Alpha would offer to take us in? I mean, he has no responsibility towards us."

Hanna had a point. I had myself thinking the same thing.

The carriage stopped and I shook my little sister Lina, who sat perched on my lap, awake.

One by one each of my pack members stepped out of the gold carriages and were at awe at the sight. A gorgeous castle stood a few feet away from us with a gorgeous ocean to view for miles.

"Alright," A man with brown wavy hair and green eyes speaks; it was the same man I always saw next to that Alpha. "You will all be assigned rooms. Tomorrow you will be assigned jobs." He then encourages us to follow his lead before he stops his tracks.

"Oh, I almost forgot. I'm Fredrick..." he introduces himself. Almost humorously he adds, "Welcome to the Prime Regiment pack."

"Farah, where the hell are you going?" Hanna asks as I grabbed my wool robe and draped it around me.

"I need to find Xavier. I have to talk to him" I answered quickly.

Hanna sighs before locking her fingers together. "If it's about him claiming you...I don't think it's a good idea. On top of that, we are in a completely new setting. Where the hell would you find him?"

I glared at her before letting out a breath. "Can you for once mind your own damn business?" I snapped.

Hanna's eyes look pained for a moment but she quickly masked it by squinting them to create a cold, mischievous look. "As you wish..." She muttered before snuggling herself under the covers of our bed in our new room; next to her laid Lina.

I scoffed before opening our door and heading out into the hallway. On the hall where our pack's rooms were assigned, the halls were left dark for some reason. The only source of light were candles that were placed on each corridor.

A large glass window was located at the end of the hallway and the stars shown through prominently. I couldn't believe it was already dark out; today had gone by so quickly.

At the adjacent hallway, there was an open door.

"Xavier?" I called walking in. The room was dark preventing me from seeing anything.

Suddenly I heard something.

A scratch.

The room was lit with a match exposing all the walls and detail. It was gorgeous and rich. Famous paintings were hung on all the walls and expensive china was set as the interior design.

My eyes then set on a person of tall built, raven dark hair and blue eyes, sharp jawline and tan skin.

Alpha Adonis.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" I'm begged lowering my head in humility. "I didn't know this was your room."

"It's not my room, I was just hanging in here for leisure." He explains.

"Look at me," his voice was soothing, almost like a purr. He didn't sound angry or offended at all.

He took that opportunity to just watch me. Just with his eyes, he was speaking to me in a language I did not quite understand.

Those golden flakes began to appear once again...but instead of staring at them in fascination I broke the silence.

"Thank you," I mumbled. "You know, for saving my pack. We didn't know how long...you know."

He nods. "Were you looking for something?"

"Yeah, my friend, Xavier."

The gold in his eyes began to grow bolder and the pigmentation in his eyes took the shade of a deeper tone.

"That warrior," Alpha Adonis spoke knowingly. He swallowed hard before speaking again. "He should have been assigned to the second floor. Most of the warriors of your pack were placed there."

His voice rang deep and warm. I bit my bottom lip nervously and I watched as his pigmented eyes followed my movements closely. His pupils dilating tremendously.

"Thank you," I spoke once again.

He didn't say anything. He just glanced over at my lips once again before his eyes raked over me. He quickly looked back up to meet my eyes clearly acting indifferent.

And with one blow...he blew the match out.
