The Unexplained Silence

A group of individuals sat around a table, discussing matters regarding the GOH tournament and the recent events that had shaken things up.

???: Huh... this whole situation is thrown out of control.

???: This would be much easier if all three fighters were out of commission or suspended. Gang Manseok has been taken out of the competition but (L/n) was still on his feet at the end of the rough, technically keeping him in the competition.

???: Come on, the kid looked like a corpse propped up on the ropes.

???: Regardless, that "corpse" was still standing and hadn't given up or tapped out.

One of the figures opened their mouth to speak but closed it, quietly pondering something. Another one of these suited figures spoke up upon noticing.

???: Something wrong?

???: I'm curious... does anyone remember who invited (L/n) to the tournament?

They looked amongst each other before one smoking on a cigarette spoke up.

???: I can't remember off the top of my head, but his invitation was official, and there were no discrepancies with his background or equipment he brought. In fact. he was probably underprepared compared to some competitors.

Another suited individual spoke up, cutting off the smoker.

???: I'm less concerned with the ratings of Mr. (L/n) and moreso about how the level of Jin Mori has increased.

???: True... so far three fighters have had their levels change...

As the figures spoke, they let their minds drift away from the topic of (L/n). Meanwhile, you had managed to recover from most of your injuries from the fight with Manseok, your body limping its way down a corridor with an icepack on the back of your neck. You weren't so far off when you thought you had pulled the majority of your muscles and your body surely let you know it as you walked into the waiting area for the fighters unintentionally, trying to find a way into the audience to visit with your family after the brutal fight. It was then you lifted your tired and pained (E/c) eyes to find Mira talking with Ma Mi-Sun.

(Y/n): Oh, hey you two.

The two stopped their conversation to turn their respective gazes to you. They both let smiles slide onto their features before moving over to you, meeting halfway as you switched hands to let the hand holding the icepack rest for a bit.

Mira: You did great out there, (L/n)!

Mi-Sun: Yep, you totally looked hot putting that ogre guy in his place~

The words Mi-Sun spoke caused you to blush slightly, scratching at the side of your face at the strange but still warming compliment.

(Y/n): Thank you, though I kinda just lucked out in the end. I really thought he was gonna break my arm there...

Mira caught a glance at your saddened expression before spotting another emotion beneath it. It kinda looked like-

Mi-Sun: Well well you keep this up and I might just add you into my harem~

Your face broke out in another blush as Mira examined the scene, scared for your safety with this woman and concerned about your health. The healing services typically fixed you right up, but considering you had to fight two matches almost back to back, she could understand being sore on your part.

Mi-Sun: I hope you'll be watching my next match~

The girl affectionately poked your chest in a teasing manner, blowing a bubble softly to end the sentence with a literal pop. Your tired muscles tensed up as you pressed your lips into a line, your face growing warmer as the girl pushed her boundaries.

(Y/n): W-Well I will be in the a-audience so I-I-I suppose.... I could do that!

Mi-Sun chuckled softly before wiggling her fingers and walking off to head off to the match. Mira glanced at the wandering girl before looking at you, your eyes lifted to look at her hair so you didn't seem perverted to Mira. Mira let a smile slip onto her face as she pats you on the back, unintentionally smacking a sore sport, but you held back the grunt with an awkward smile.

Mira: You did really well. Really (L/n).

(Y/n): Ah thank you, Mira, I can't wait to see you fight as well. You look absolutely breathtaking!

You lowered your gaze to meet Mira's only to see her looking at you with a puzzled look, tilting her head to the side in an amusing manner. It was then that your words settled on your mind after having been said. Your body went into panic mode as you waved your hand.

(Y/n): A-Ah I mean when you do the sword thing! Y-You know like when you f-fight and stuff you're just really impressive! A-And I'm not saying you're not breathtaking, you are, I'm just you know I'm... I'm gonna be quiet now...

You let out with a sigh. Mira looked at you for a bit before chuckling softly, a soft smile drifting onto her face.

Mira: Don't fall for me now, I have a mission I need to complete, you understand?

She spoke before walking off to join the audience. Truthfully, you didn't understand. You honestly had no idea what she was talking about but it possibly sounded like you got unintentionally rejected. You let out a sigh as you shuffled off to follow the girl, going in the same direction though at a distance to try and figure out what she meant.

Mia watched the matches with an analytical perspective, watching each movement and strike as she tried to figure out why some of the contestants seemed like total monsters while others dropped like sacks of potatoes. She turned her head to the side just in time to see you apologizing, moving ahead of the seated people to take a spot next to Mia.

Dad: You did amazing son!

Mom: Hmm... you're not hurt are you?

Mia watched carefully as you did that nonchalant smile of yours, brushing off the cheers and applause of other seated audience members. Mia looked out at the competition as a rather lewdly dressed lady piledrived her distracted opponent.

Mia: Total monsters hmm...

Her gaze returned to her smiling brother before getting out a sigh through her nose.

Mia: No... he's not a monster... not like them...

Dad: What did you say, Mia?

Mia: Ah, nothing. Good job out there, Broccoli.

You nodded your head softly and ruffled the girl's hair slightly. Mia took notice as your face warmed lightly at the sight of the girl in the ring winking at him... or at least in his direction. Her brother is a weird dude...

With the final matches starting, it is only time until we see (Y/n) be thrown into more conflicts of an otherworldly nature. How long will his erratic and uncoordinated fighting style keep him going or will he have to conform and adapt his brutality to a fighting style to survive the upcoming monstrous encounters?
