I Won't Say Goodbye
Mia was curious. She had a very analytical view of things and knew something was different about her brother. Her brother getting into fights was one thing, she had seen them herself, but lately and especially during the GOH, her brother has slipped, letting brutality shape his moves rather than the usual unique style he had.
(Y/n): Hey mom hey Dad morning! how are you? Are the kids good? Great? Yeah?! Alright, I gotta go to a wedding see you later bye!
Mom: WHAT?!
Dad: H-He took my good pants!
Mia looked as her parents seemed astonished, her brother racing off to a marriage of all things? Though with her brother gone she knew this might be her chance to pry some more answers out of her weak-willed parents. As much as she cared for her brother, she knew having the truth would allow her to understand the situation better.
Mia: Why does (Y/n) fight like that?
Dad: Eh? What do you mean honey?
Mia: (Y/n) always fights the same way, but now he seems to favor hurting people instead of winning. I want to know why that is.
Your parents looked at each other. They knew this topic would come up sooner or later, but they had hoped the tournament would be over by then.
Dad: Didn't we tell you to wait till your brother tells you?
Mia: But he won't tell me. I know he won't. So I would like to know why he always looks so sad when I ask him?
Dad: Ah... well...
Mom: I don't really think this is the time to talk about this. Especially with (Y/n) running off to some wedding!
Mia: How about you tell me on the way?
Your mother opened her mouth to rebuke but was silent, not really sure how to do mental gymnastics with her daughter. Your Dad made the next move, heading toward the small kitchen of the hotel room.
Dad: We will only tell you a little. your brother will probably be upset as it is, but after this, the only info your will get is from him, got it?
Mia nodded her head eagerly, moving in closer to take a seat at the table as your mother walked off to another room, probably trying to figure out what this whole wedding thing was about. Your Father took a deep breath, turning to the young girl and resting his back against the counter.
Dad: While you were very little, our family lived in a... well... it was a nice neighborhood but that doesn't mean the people were nice. My boss was a jerk, your mother struggled finding work and your brother was... bullied. A lot. We did our best to help but the school didn't care and when we spoke to the boy's parents they just threatened us with action because "clearly" our boy was the one bullying four boys. So one day... something changed.
Mia titled her head to the side, scooting in her seat as she definitely wanted to hear this next part.
Dad: It broke my heart watching your brother walk in covered in bruises again, but something was different. Your brother had this bright smile on his face and sat down telling us he met a nice man that would should him how to defend himself against the bullies. Of course, we wanted to meet this guy but we never did, until it was too late.
Mia: What do you mean?
Your father let out a long breath through his nose, contemplating if he should say his next few words.
Dad: We got a call from the school and it wasn't good. All they told us was your brother was being held in the office and there were several kids in the hospital.
Mia's eyes widened softly. She knew you could be brutal, especially given your recent fights but putting people in the hospital... wasn't you. You were nice and a good guy, maybe a bit weird at times but a good guy.
Dad: We got there and your brother was... smiling. He sat there in the chair with a big smile on his face. He turned to us as we walked up and said... "I got them back." Well, we walked in, and apparently, your brother had broken two of the boy's arms and blinded another one, the fourth one was having breathing problems and they were all rushed off.
Your father took a moment to compose himself, letting the information settle in as Mia thought over what you had apparently done.
Dad: Later we asked him why he went so far and he said, "Mister told me that if I want an enemy to never come at me again, I need to leave them within an inch of their life. Once they start recovering they can remember how close they were to the edge and how easily I could have ended them." This shit was horrifying of course! this random guy taught our kid how to nearly murder people and he was perfectly ok with it, enjoyed hurting those kids even. Well after the episode we ended up moving and your brother moved on, seemingly regretting those actions but...
Mia: What is it?
Dad: Ah nothing, but that's all you're getting from me. Your brother's backstory is now more fleshed out.
Mia: You never told me about meeting the guy though.
Dad: That's all I'm going to say, if you want more info you'll have to ask your brother for more, though I wouldn't recommend it. Your brother... doesn't like remembering those times. And will the fighting tournament coming up, I think he's trying to make sure he doesn't do as much as he did back in the day.
Your father walked up to Mia and ruffed her hair, walking off to find your mother. Mia however was totally amazed. So you weren't naturally brutal but you learned it, and from another man no less. She did wonder if it was all that smart to ask you about this kinda thing but would have to think about it more as you raced off to some sort of wedding. She wanted to make sure you were safe... but it might just be too late at this point if that story was anything to go off of. She would have to ask you about that man soon...
