In which Toby and Prince decide to switch roles until a later date.

For a second no one moved, then the Prince and Sarah burst out laughing at the affronted expression the King had on his face.

"I like the new Toby better than the old one," Prince admitted, ruffling the younger boy's hair. As soon as he touched him, the Prince stiffed. "Well, well, well. It seems you lucked out yet again, Toby."

Sarah looked cautious. She loved all three of them but was insanely protective of her younger brother. "What?"

Jareth came over, pulling off his glove, and touched Toby's cheek with the back of his fingers. "Oh, I see. Young Toby here is a MundaneBorn."

"A mundane born?" Sarah asked.

"You're a wizard, Toby." Prince said cheekily.

"What?" Sarah and Toby said at the same time.

"There must have been a squib somewhere in your ancestry."  Prince mused.

"A squib is the opposite of a mundane born, right?" Sarah asked.

"Yes. A child without magic born to parents who did. The gene must have skipped you, Sarah, but not Toby." Prince confirmed. "You can sense their magical core through touch but once they reach adulthood it's much easier. Wait a few years and even baby fae like you won't be able to miss it. Here. I'll show you."

Sarah stuck out her tongue childishly and listened as Prince quickly explained how to sense magic in young wizards as Jareth replaced his glove and hugged her. "Oh, this is going to be fun. One sibling Fae, the other a mortal wizard." He looked at Sarah fondly. "Oh, how you turn my world, you precious thing."

The next thing Toby knew he was in a hedge maze, with Prince holding his shoulder. "Best let them be alone before it gets mushy.  Come on, you didn't get to see any of the Labyrinth last time. I'll give you a tour or we can run it. No time limit, you make the call and I'll fish you out of anywhere unsavory."

"That would be awesome."

The next moment, the pair was on the outskirts of the Labyrinth, Toby's eyes wide with wonder as he took in the Goblin King's domain.

"Ready when you are," Prince said.

Toby studied the Labyrinth for a long moment, before sending Prince a wicked grin.

He took off running, Prince following after a moment.

It was nearly 16 hours later that they made it back, Toby having fallen into an Oubliette twice before they reached the castle.

"That was so much fun. Even if the Firey's are insane." Toby said.

"My favorite part was when you jumped three feet in the air at your first false warning."

"It spooked me!"

"They're supposed to!"

Prince suddenly pulled up short.

"What?"

"I just realized I'm your nephew."

Toby stopped too. "That's so weird."

"Wanna switch roles until you look older?"

"Lets."

With the new arrangement agreed upon, they went to the dining room where the last of the mortal Costco food was used and Toby couldn't stop laughing as Prince and Sarah recounted Jareth's adventures in mortal grocery shopping.

"I still can't believe you haven't seen a banana before," Sarah said.

"It's not my fault that mortals can't travel very fast without help."

Prince summoned a crystal and showed it to Toby, a memory of Jareth's face when confronted with the fruit within.

Toby burst out laughing again.

"So, Toby," Jareth said. "How is the music career coming?"

"I'm still learning, but I can play a few songs on the guitar."

"Why the guitar?" Prince asked, taking a bite from his banana, but not before wiggling his eyebrows at his father.

"I wanted to play a song with Sarah,"  Toby said, blushing.

"Roundtable Rival by Lindsey Stirling." Sarah clarified.

"Isn't that the mortal violinist you and Prince went to see a few mortal months ago?"

"Yes. It's one of the few songs that have a violin and guitar part but it caught Toby's eye."

Toby blushed harder.

"Well, Jareth junior."

"Toby." Sarah corrected without looking up.

"Toby." Jareth amended.

Prince and Toby chuckled.

"We'll have to play sometime together. The goblins do love a good song."

"Not Dance, Magic, Dance!" Sarah and Prince yelled.

"Why ever not?"

"It would be the 57th time," Prince said.

"I'm over three thousand years old. That's not much."

"This week."

"Maybe a bit much."

The royal family settled down to eat, knowing that this was the first of many visits the only mortal member would make.
