Ace was momentarily blinded. When he could finally see again Sugar stood opposite him, and they were in a lush valley.

"What... what happened?" Ace asked.

"I'm going to kill-youuuu!" Sugar said in a sing-song voice.

"What? Are you okay? Did Antag enchant you?!"

"I'm just fine, little brother," Sugar said, a wicked smile forming, "In fact, I'm the one who enchanted Antag."

"You- you're an animus too?!" Ace stumbled backwards.

"Of course! And that's why I know your secret."

"My... Secret? Wait! You can't mean..?"

Sugar nodded coyly. Then she leaped into the air, pouncing on Ace and shoving him to the ground.

Ace squirmed out of her grasp and leaped backwards. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because, Ace, I want to be the next Queen, and I want no opposition!"

Ace shuffled backwards as Sugar started to enchant him...

The Jade Winglet(Plus Des) stood in the cave where they had originally met Antag.

"This way, I think," Des said, bounding down the tunnel. Darkness closed in around them as they navigated through the tunnel.

"Hey Des," Irre said, "Why do I have the feeling this book's rating is about to go from PG to PG-13..."

"I think I have a pretty good idea," Des said, beginning to walk at an increased pace.

"Does this mean I get to swear?" Thor asked.

Everyone ignored Thor because they had just exited the tunnel.

They stood in a lush valley, and on one side of the valley stood Sugar, snarling and growling at another GlitterPerfectWing.

"Wholesome..?" Des gasped.

"Who?" Thor asked.

"That's... That's Princess Wholesome!"

"Never heard of them."

"It's the animus GlitterPerfectWing we mentioned in the first Chronicle."

"Ohhhhhhhh," Thor said, "Wait what."

Wholesome leaped into the air and came crashing down into Sugar, throwing her against the wall. Sugar countered scratching Wholesome across the stomach. The animus princess backed away, laying low to the ground and snarling at Sugar.

"You're going to die! And I'll kill Splendid and Excel and Destruction too, and then I'll challenge Impeccable, and I'll be Queen! You can't stop me Wholesome!" Then Sugar leapt at Wholesome, giving her a nasty scar twisting from her snout and up across her eye.

"But why Sugar? We wouldn't have challenged you!"

"You might not have, but someone else might have! I'm not taking any chances!" She thrust Wholesome up against one of the valley walls, "I'm going to be Queen, and I'm not letting ANYONE take that away from me!"

Wholesome pressed her back legs against Sugar's stomach. "I'm so sorry," she said before throwing Sugar backward, "I enchant this dragon, and her henchman Antag, to no longer be animus dragons!"

"What!? NOOOOOO!" Sugar cried furiously. She batted her wings and tried to leave the valley, but the gap at the top was two small and she didn't fit. When trying to squirm through, she banged her head against a rock, knocking herself unconscious. She fell, hitting the ground with a thud.

Wholesome and Des rushed over to their sister, but she was already dead when they found her.

Irre padded over. "I- I'm sorry for your loss," he said.

"You were right," Des said. Irre blinked. "This was about to go from PG to PG-13. This violent death only proves it."

"So where's Ace?" Thor asked, "He's got to be here somewhere..."

"Oh! About that..." Wholesome shuffled her talons nervously. Then her scales started changing. Her blue scales turned to pink, and she began to get shorter and smaller. Her SandWing sail changed to pink spines and her eyes turned blue. Her white scales near the corner of her eye faded, finally making her recognizable as...

"ACE!?" The Jade Winglet shouted at once.

"Um, so, yeah," Ace/Wholesome said, "You probably have a lot of questions."

"WHAT. THE. HELL." Thor shouted.

Ace blinked. "I thought this was PG?"

"Violent deaths change things, I guess," Des said with a shrug.

"Anyway, please explain," Thor said.

"So... I was born as Princess Wholesome, the animus GlitterPerfectWing," Ace said, "However there hadn't been an animus born to the PerfectGlitterWings since DarkStalker's time, so my parents freaked out. They forced me to cast a spell that changed my identity to Ace-Zero, and a spell to make sure no one thought it was suspicious."

"But... Sugar is an animus too," Dashie said, "Why didn't she have an identity crisis?"

"She didn't tell anyone. Just kept it a secret I guess- I mean, I never knew," Ace said.

"Wait, why haven't there been any animus dragons since DarkStalker?" Dashie asked

Ace shrugged. "I'm not sure."

"Can't you just enchant yourself to know?" Señor Tonto asked.

Ace nodded. "Yeah I guess." He whispered the enchantment under his breath and then said, "Apparently when DarkStalker showed the real magnitude of what an animus could do the GlitterPerfectWing Queen got scared, and, being an animus herself made it so that no other GlitterPerfectWing could ever be an animus. And then she made it so that the GlitterPerfectWings would be hidden from the other tribes, that way no other animus could hurt them."

"There was, however, one Animus left. A GlitterPerfect/RainWing hybrid, who cast a spell making it so the animus gene would resurface in 2500 years. That's now," Ace said, "So I guess that's why I got to be an animus."

"That... Makes some sense," Des said, "And I guess the Queen's hiding spell wore off too."

The group took this as a good enough explanation.

"So, what do we do about her?" Thor said, "Sugar, I mean. We can't just leave her here."

Venge nodded. "Ace can you cast a spell that brings her body back to Jade Mountain with us?"

"I could, but what do we tell everyone else?"

"We should tell them the truth," Des said, "That you're an animus and that you're Princess Wholesome."

"Bu- but what about Queen Impeccable?"

"Aw, screw Queen Impeccable. You should be able to tell people your secret if you want to. It is your secret after all," Thor said.

Ace thought for a minute. "Yeah, you're right. It is MY secret, not hers. I can tell anyone I want!"

Thor nodded encouragingly.

"Let's go!" Ace said.

"Just one more thing," Thor said, "Should we call you Wholesome now?"

Ace shook his head. "I'm not Wholesome- not anymore. I'm Ace-Zero, and I don't care what anyone else has to say about that."

And then he raced off into the tunnel and back to Jade Mountain.
