I think I like Dan." Phil blurted out, making PJ and Chris laugh loudly.

"Tell us something we don't know." Chris chuckled but he became more serious when he saw Phil's terrified expression.

"I don't want to hurt him though. If I tell him, he might get even more upset or something..." Phil mumbled, looking down at his shoes.

"I think you should take him out or something. As a date. He could use some cheering up."

"I guess he could."

"Dan, are you free at the moment?" Phil asked, his hands sweating like crazy.

"Yeah?" Dan mumbled, closing the notebook he was writing in.

"Do you want to go out?"

"Where?"

"For a walk? We can just... you know, talk."

"Okay..."

They walked in silence, the only noise being their feet hitting the ground. Their hands brushed against each other's multiple times but neither made a move to connect them. It was awkward to say the least.

"Hey, Dan?" Phil blurted out, not looking his friend in the eye. "Do you like anyone at the moment?"

"I have more important things to worry about.." Dan muttered, swallowing thickly. "I have never been in a relationship and I'm not too sure if I ever will be in one. No one ever pays attention to me enough to actually like me."

"I'm sure that's not true." Phil's breath hitched as he wound up the courage to slip his hand into Dan's. Dan just jerked his hand away, like it hurt him.

"Why did you do that?" Dan forced out, his voice shaking.

"I-I-"

"Phil, please don't-"

"I like you."

Dan stared down at his still feet, no longer moving. His eyes were quickly filling with tears as he shook his head rapidly. "No." He simply said. He started to back away, repeating the single word over and over again before running.
