I keep staring at Ashley, startled.

"Ashlee, are you alright?" She asks.

Why is she calling me by her own name? I immediately draw out my profile info from the settings. The girl's name was Ashlee with an 'e' in it, and her character, was a ninja.

A ninja? The only thing I knew about ninja was that they look like masked assassins who knew martial arts. I looked so different from what I had imagined.

Never mind about my appearance. The biggest question was why am I here in another body? Why am I with Ashley? And where are the others?

Suddenly, two drones pop out in the air. Ashley grabs my hand and immediately sprints into a building. We run deep inside, until the drones couldn't spot us. After we were safe inside, she leaves me.

Ashley looks at me, worriedly as she asks once again, "Ashlee, Are you really alright? You can drop out of the quest, if you aren't feeling well."

Quest? We were in the middle of a quest?! I immediately open the active quests window. Yup, it was a quest. All the more, it was the final quest to clear the whole city! "City clear quest- 10 dimensional bombs placed within the entire city. Disarm to clear city, Noah. Time limit- 14 hours (8bombs left countdown-10hours)"

Dimension bombs?! That would annihilate the whole city! And if don't disarm them, this would be the end of our lives!

Suddenly, I hear footsteps. "Metal footsteps... Two bots towards the next right", I murmer. The current body I was in, not only could recognize distant sounds, but also could detect and differentiate various intensities. It was more like a super human quirk, where I can see and hear anything and everything, just by enhancing my senses. With my experience in physical combat, I guess I can take them down.

I warn Ashley and dash forward. I equip my kunai and get ready for the intercept. Two bots appear, just like I had anticipated. They were equipped with stunner guns. I immediately duck, as the one in the front fires. I jump on the bot, with my right foot landing straight on its face, throwing it off the ground. Then, I throw my kunai at the other bot. It blocks the kunai with its gun. Fortunately, it breaks the gun. With the gun now destroyed, I have the upper hand.

Suddenly, the bot throws a hand grenade. Oh no! At this position right now, I can't make it in time! Ashley suddenly appears behind the bot, as she slices it into two. I jump at the grenade, catching and immediately throwing it far away.

"Thanks for the assist" I say, gasping for breath. Strangely, I felt way more tired than I had expected. This body felt, delicate and new. With such an unnurtured body, I cannot afford to waste my stamina anymore.

I hear a 'beep' sound. Ashley removes a radar. I search for mine, and equip it as well. The radar was to detect the presence of a dimension bomb within 500 metres of range. And the 'beep', was to warn when there's one nearby. And the current one, was right above us?!! No wonder, there were drones as well as bots guarding it.

Ashley walks few inches and turns towards the staircase on her left. "The bomb must be upstairs. Let's go!"

I immediately grab Ashley's arm stopping her. The bomb maybe right above us, but there may be tons of traps, waiting for us, especially at the staircase. There's also the chance of undefeatable bots waiting for us. If we barge in without a plan, it could kill both of us.

I tell it out to Ashlee, as she agrees with it. To confirm about the traps, I throw a shruikan along the staircase. Unsprisingly, a twing sound is heard, followed by a hand grenade rolling down the stairs, as it explodes in front of us.

Ashley looks at it, astonished. "How did you know about that?"

"Experience?" I reply.

"Aahh! I wish Lu was here. He could have used sonic to detect all the traps." Ashley groans

"Yeah, he would have been a great asset" I comment

"Do you know him?" She asks me. Oops, I had totally forgotten that she doesn't know it's me.

"Nope, he's just... Famous" I cook it up.

"Oh, I see" she says, a bit suspicious. Then, something strikes my mind.

"What if we don't have to cross the traps?" I murmer.

"What do you mean?" Ashley asks, confused.

I equip a crossbow that I had found in my inventory. I had seen television shows with ninjas using these to launch ropes at buildings, so I knew she would be having one. If we can find the right window, we can hook it up from the opposite building without the enemy noticing.

I explain my plan to Ashley. "Wow, that's really a clever plan!" She exclaims. Firstly, we need to deal with the drones waiting for us outside. Well, there's only one option. We run!

Just before we exit the building, I try analyzing the location of the bomb. All I had to do was enhance my senses to detect the floor where I could feel maximum vibrations coming from.

"The fifth floor", I whisper. Then, Ashley and I, step out and run as though our lives depend on it. A gale of hot breeze brushes against me as we run. I could hear the sound of propellors, but I do not turn back. The drones must be right behind us! Suddenly, a huge bot blocks our way.

We stop, and try to find a way around the bot. But it was too late. We had already been surrounded.

"Oh no! We're trapped!" Ashley says, scared. One wrong move, and the drones would shoot us down. While I kept thinking, a drone tears apart in two. I look towards my right as few red tentacle like structures approach us, destroying another drone. An explosion right above me, as a bot explodes. Two people walk towards us, creating another explosion right behind them.

One of them, was Preston. And beside him, was another guy, with black hair and an eye-patch and red tentacles erupting from his back.

"Preston and Jake!" Ashley shouts, joyously. They wave, as they run towards us. Ashley tackle hugs Preston as she thanks him for saving us.

"I'm glad you're alright Ashlee" Jake smiles while looking at me.

"Yup, me too" I reply. It felt awkward, meeting a teammate I've never known.

"Anyways, guys! I've located the next bomb" Preston says, excitedly.

"So did we" Ashley proclaims

After that, I explain them the plan and sprint towards the terrace of the other building. From an angle like the terrace, the enemy wouldn't be able to spot us. Then, I remove my crossbow.

I pull the trigger, launching the hook, and smashing it into the wall right above the window. Inorder to distract the bots, Preston launches nukes at the adjacent room, exploding it. Using his tentacles, Jake slides along the rope and breaks into the room. Ashley, Preston and I join him as well. It was a large, spacious room with a big nuclear reactor in the centre. Nine bots, heavily armed, were guarding the bomb.

Preston immediately drops a smoke bomb, hiding us in dark mist. I enhance my senses once more, detecting the location of each bot. I immediately spring forward, taking down three bots with my kunai. Jake makes his move as well, as he whips his tentacles, taking down four bots at once. Ashley slashes two of them, using her sword.

Three bots enter the room. Preston throws a flash grenade at them. I immediately spring forward, throwing my shruikan at one of them, as I side kick the other. Ashley slashes the final bot, with her blade shining in the silvery moonlight.

Preston rushes to the bomb and deactivates it. The bomb count drops to six with nine hours remaining.

Ashley sighs in relief. We had successfully taken one down, without recieving any severe injuries. Suddenly, Preston accidentally launches a nuke in excitement. The nuke explodes, creating a hole in the floor. The walls start to break apart.

"Preston!" Ashley shouts, scared.

"I'm sorry!" Preston hastily apologizes. The ground starts to shake. The floor's gonna collapse!

I try to reach for the entrance, but the floor in front of me falls. There has to be another way to escape! But then, the entrance and the window had collapsed as well. Afraid, everyone holds on to a pillar close to them them.

Suddenly, I see a shadow among the shattered walls. Not just one, but two of them. And then, I could see a smile. Is it a friend, or a foe? Is it a person who has come to save us, or the one to get the last laugh? Who could it be?!
