Max is at the hockey rink alone. He checks his watch and sees it is past six.  He thinks, I should have known she would not show up. He sighs and starts to walk away.

        "Max, wait!  Sorry, I am late,"  Rose calls out.

         Max turns around, sees Rose and smiles.  "Glad, to see you made it, after all, Rose!" He says.

       "Yes, I sure did," Rose says. She wonders what the surprise is he mentions in the letter.

          Max turns the lights off and pushes a button.  In bold letters the words, Rose will you be my girlfriend?  shows up.

      To her surprise, Max pulls a  string and some flower petals fall from the ceiling.

"Wow, Max!  I love it!" Rose says as she hugs him.

"Is that a yes?"  Max asks.

     Rose laughs.  " I will be happy to be your girlfriend,"  She replies.

       "I am so glad to hear you say this, Rose,"  Max responds.

        Max dances with her and stares into her eyes. She stares into his as well.

   After a while, Rose lays her head against his chest with her eyes closed, and Max blushes. He can not believe how great it is to hold her this close to him.  

     Max hears her sigh. He says, "Rose, there is some food here we can share."

      Rose smiles and replies, "Good because I am rather hungry."

          Max and Rose share some rice, and tacos.  They have some iced water to drink. Then, they watch a  movie on the projector that Max has set up.

       The movie was a romance film and at the end Rose says,  "Awe, how romantic!"   

       Max  holds her hand and says, " I can be romantic to you know."

     "Yes, I know," Rose says. She lays her head on his shoulder.
