Chapter 26 ✔️

Hope
I felt so strange around him.
When he told me to do something, I did it without complaining or talking back. Like my conscience automatically knew he was a force to be reckoned with.. Truth be told, the one eyed Decepticon named Shockwave intimidated me. More than Megatron, even. And that was saying something.
He was typing away silently at the holographic keyboard in front of him. At times he would say a word or two to Knockout when the cherry mech wasn't working on a patient that would often come in, but then he would be silent again.
I was given a small glass cage, similar to the cylinder like one I had been placed in earlier, but this one was a large rectangle and no handle on the outside for transportation. Inside, I was given a small dog bed and nothing else.
Not that I could complain. The dog bed was more than I was given at M.E.C.H. I silently stared at my arms as the minutes turned into hours. Every move hurt. My hands were still their normal color, but my fingernails were slowly turning purple. I gagged, looking away and turning my attention to my wings that were spread.
They seemed normal, for the most part. Instead of their white color, some were tainted light pink from blood on my arms. But most of the feathers were simply a dark grey color, from the lack of washing. My hair was practically matted on the top of my head. Earlier I had tried to run my fingers through it and as a result a giant, unnatural clump came out.
Figuring it was apart of my 'deteriorating' process, I felt it best to leave my hair alone so I wouldn't go bald. Sighing, I leaned my head back against the surprisingly cold glass I sat against. The soft dog bed underneath me gave me some comfort, but my joints were tight and sore.
I just wanted to move around.
"Are you hungry?" I jumped at the sound of Shockwaves voice. Slowly, I turned my head towards the cyclops and shrugged. In all honesty, I didn't feel hungry. It was strange. I knew I should feel hungry, but all I felt was pain.
"Try this." Shockwave opened the small door to my glass box and stuck a tiny glowing block down in front of me. I raised an eyebrow and forced myself to stand and walk over to it. It seemed to be humming with energy.
"What is this? 'Cause I don't think I can drink it." I pointed a finger at the cube. Knockout turned to me, looking me up and down before turning towards Shockwave.
"If her CNA genes are not activated yet, she may not survive drinking energon."
"Your statement is Logical. But this is a test. I wish to see results." I gulped at his statement and stared at the 'energon'.
"I would rather not drink this, or however I'm supposed to eat this, if it'll kill me." I said, crossing my arms. I winced instantly regretting my sudden move and placed my arms straight down next to my sides.
"It is not a request. You should be able to drink it. You are part Cybertronian, after all. If you start to offline, then I will take care of it." he seemed so sure of himself, but I still felt doubt. Biting my lip, I cocked my head to one side and sighed before picking up the cube.
"So... how-"
"Drink it." Knockout rolled his eyes, as if he was stating the obvious. Throwing him a glare, I hesitantly placed the cube to my lips before feeling the liquid enter my mouth.
Bad mistake.
I gagged and shook my head, looking towards Shockwave in desperate need of permission to spit it out. He simply shook his head. A way to tell me to finish it. So, I quickly swallowed the liquid. It burnt in the back of my throat, and had a metallic taste to it.
"That-" I began, still gagging, "was disgusting." I placed the cube on the ground and shoved it away with my foot.
"You will require energon in your system in order to get the semi-antidote. It requires energon to make it react. You will need to drink at least three of those a day." Shockwave went back to typing something into the giant computer like system he was always on.
"You've got to be kidding me." I groaned, wiping my tongue off and trying to get the nasty taste out.
"Illogical. I do not joke. Since you have not perished or off-lined, you will continue with the energon."
"Off-lined?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as I quickly picked up the energon cube and sitting down on my dog bed. "I thought you said you would have taken care of me if I did that?"
"I lied."
"I thought you said you don't joke! That was not the funny kind." I complained, staring in disgust at the energon cube I had to drink in order to survive. Why couldn't survival taste sweeter?
"Illogical. I did not joke. I lied."
"Human, silence. I require time to think and your whining is not helping." Knockout rubbed his helm before continuing with his work. I huffed and continued to stare at my energon.
"So sorry for being upset over the fact that I could have died." I muttered under my breath.
"Without my help, you will already be dead. So I suggest you shut up before I leave Shockwave alone to make the formula that will save your life." Knockout spat, obviously hearing my last remark. I bit my lip and went silent so they could work.
Another few hours passed, and I had managed to gag down two more energon cubes. I still haven't 'off-lined' from the energon, which I'm thankful for. My last energon cube now sat in my hand, and I took a large swig of it, trying to get it all down before the taste hit me.
Unfortunately, the taste came but I managed not to gag and when I was finished I groaned. "Finally. God, that stuff is nasty." Shockwave ignored my remark and Knockout was on the other side of the room fixing some Decepticon that looked vaguely similar to all the others that had come in.
My first thought was that the robots were all somehow twins, but I'd come to figure out that all of the vehicons, as Shockwave explained they were, looked the same. Knockout yanked on the vehicons arm and it snapped. The Decepticon let out a cry of pain before going silent again, as I found many of them were, and his face went neutral again.
It rolled its shoulder and gave a satisfied nod before walking past me and walking out of the Med bay. Before the door could close, another figure walked through, and instantly, Shockwave and Knockout bowed. "Lord Megatron." Knockout greeted him before walking to the large silver bot.
"Is it done yet?" Megatron asked, his gaze falling upon me.
"Nearly finished, my liege." Shockwave said, turning to the warlord. "It will not last more than a week at a time, so I will give the femme one everyday until you receive the real antidote. Has Soundwave found the mech yet?"
"No." Megatron sighed before turning to me. His dark glare made me shudder and I forced myself to stand. "Human." he greeted.
"Um... H-hi." I choked out, looking down at my feet as if they were the best thing in the world.
"You belong to me now, and you will greet me as Master or Lord Megatron." he snapped. "Look at me."
I did so reluctantly, and found his blazing red eyes staring down at me. "Did you hear me, pet?"
"Y-yes-"
"Yes what?" He snapped. I bit my lip as I shook my head. I couldn't believe I was doing this. Wasn't I supposed to stand for what I believed in? I was on the Autobots side! I didn't have to listen to Megatron. Wheeljack's words from earlier drifted into my mind.
Did you know that Optimus talked to me about using you in the war?
Don't you see? You're nothing more than a weapon to be used and then thrown away.
"Yes, Lord Megatron." I whispered, tears brimming in my eyes. Megatron grinned, obviously pleased.
"Good. A pet should be able to listen to its master."
I clenched my teeth and stared at my feet as Megatron turned to Shockwave again. "How far into the process is she, do you think?"
"Without the formula we are giving her, she would be dead in a month. The sparkling needs the antidote."
"I don't know why my skin isn't healing." I spoke up. "Normally, stuff like this heals in a few hours. Sometimes, depending on how bad I'm hurt, days. So why isn't my skin healing?" It didn't make any sense. I always hated the stares at school when I was at school with broken bones and bruises one day, and nothing the next.
There were lots of rumors. 1), I'm a witch.
2), I am an angel disguised as an ugly teenager to test them. See if I'm picked on and then if I am, I turn into a devil or some crap like that.
I found myself laughing softly at the thought. In a weird way, I do look like an angel. Not in a pretty sense or anything, but because angels have wings. Duh. I rolled my eyes mentally before shaking my arms as a burning sensation takes place for what seemed to be the millionth time today.
"Your CNA and DNA are dying. If a healing cell dies, then it is gone forever." Shockwave says, not looking away from Megatron, who seemed to have taken a particular interest in me. I shuddered at the way he stared silently. "That is why we require the antidote now, instead of later. Some of your cells may be created again, like your skin cells; but your healing cells may never come back."
"Great." I threw my hands in the air before crying out and shaking my arms. "When is that stuff going to be done?" I whined. Knockout clicked something into the system before turning to Shockwave.
"It's done."
"That is earlier than expected." Shockwave said, rather hesitant before turning to Megatron. "Permission to use it on the sparkling?" Megatron grinned.
"Wouldn't want my weapon to go out of commission before the war."
"I am not a weapon." I snapped, turning away. Megatron smirked.
"You lie to yourself. You will not be able to control your abilities without your creator. Without us, you are a weak sparkling. You could seriously hurt the ones you love." he teased.
"I don't have loved ones." I whispered, sitting and pulling my knees to my chest. Megatron rolled his eyes before nodding to Shockwave, who had moved across the room and turned on some machine. Seconds later, he came back with a tiny vile in his hand. Human sized.
"Stay still." I jumped at the closeness of Shockwaves voice, especially since I had just been looking at him. His holoform crouched down next to me and stuck the needle in my arm. I bit my lip hard to keep from crying out, and the area around the needle immediately started bleeding. Then, just like that, in the blink of an eye, my orange blotchy skin turned into a color slightly familiar to normal.
"Warning next time!" I squeaked, rubbing my arm and sighing. "So that's going to be a daily thing?"
"Yes." Shockwave's holoform disappeared and his large body bowed to Megatron. "My liege, I wish to attend to your beast. I have more experimenting to do."
Megatron considered this and nodded his approval. "May I bring Hope with me?" Shockwave continued. At this, Megatron looked uncertain. He shot icy daggers in my direction before nodding curtly.
"Be warned. If you try to escape, there will be consequences." I nodded quickly, swallowing what felt like cotton before he narrowed his eyes. "Is that a proper answer?"
"I-I'm sorry. Yes, L-lord Megatron." I said quickly before Shockwave stuck his hand next to me. I hesitated before stepping on his hand and letting him carry me out of the room. I let a piece of my hair cover my face, so I wouldn't have to feel the stares from other vehicons as we walked by.
My body swayed as Shockwave walked, and I sighed when I felt cold air hit me. We were outside! Seriously? I immediately jumped up but stumbled a bit to the left, and as a result, I ended up running into Shockwaves finger. He said nothing as I latched on, allowing myself to lean over the palm of his hand and look down and around.
We were outside, alright. I let my gaze fall to the sky above me, and on instinct, I felt my wings twitch under my ratty shirt. Begging for me to jump off and fly away. Shockwave stared down at me with his single eye before shaking his head.
"Escaping is illogical." A chill went down my spine at his icy stare, and I nodded quickly before jumping at a new noise. The noise came from behind Shockwave, and I stood up on my tiptoes to try and get a better look at whatever was waiting.
I still couldn't see, and Shockwave shook his head before turning to the side and holding out his hand. I let out a tiny shriek and pressed myself into Shockwaves finger, trying to hide behind it. I hadn't expected it to be so close.
And I knew that Shockwave said he was attending his beast, but I hadn't expected this. Not two inches from my face, stood the beast that attacked me and Wheeljack in the Jackhammer. The very creature that started all of this nightmare.
In front of me stood a dragon.
