Chapter 5: Wyatt

*(Y/N) POV*

My mouth dropped so fast, 'is she really buying that?'

It's not that I had anything personal against the werewolves, but it's obvious they're here for something, well more like someone. There's just something about them I can't put my finger on, but sooner or later I'm going to figure this out.

"Addison, whaaaaat are you doing?" I asked her, walking to her side while quickly glancing at the boy with white bangs and thought, 'the marks on his face are kinda cool.'

"Being nice!" She beamed, "also, don't forget about cheer practice! It starts in 15 minutes."

"Shoot! Right right, right! Going to change right now!" I sprinted off to the locker rooms.

Once I was finished changing into the spare uniform that I keep here, and I headed to the gym. Everyone on the cheer team was already there except for Addison. I go and stand by Bree while we wait for Addison to arrive. Meanwhile, I was thinking about the wolves. 'Why do they want me? Did I do something to them? What could I possibly have that they want?'

Slowly, my mind kept wandering to the boy with white bangs and his brown, dreamy eyes. I furiously shook my head, 'I will NOT let some new stranger just show up and dominate my thoughts.'

After a few minutes, Addison walks in happier then I've ever seen her before. I smile slightly at her. She'll be a great cheer captain I just know it.

"Okay! Let's get started!"

Bree nervously pointed behind Addison, "Um, A-Addie."

I looked to see where's she's pointing, I was too busy thinking about why the wolves were here to notice that they are here, sitting on the bleachers. Unconsciously, I scanned the pack of wolves for the boy with white bangs. I saw him near the front, and my heart swelled seeing him. Until he saw me staring at him, then I realized what I was doing and looked away flustered and embarrassed, 'what happened to not letting him dominate your thoughts, heart?!'

"This space is for cheerleaders only," Addison turned and smiled at them.

The werewolf girl with a lighter brown, quarter white hair, stood up and put her foot on the bench in front of her and snarled, "Just try to make us leave!"

Addison shook her head, "I didn't say you had to leave. I want you to stay and show us what you can do!"

I wasn't the only one who froze, the werewolves and the other cheerleaders were all confused too.

I looked at Addison, then I turned to Bree, "She's serious, isn't she?"

Bree nodded. Then her dark brown eyes widened in fear as she squeaked, backing away from me as her scared eyes were locked on someone behind me. I knew he was there, I heard him breathing, and I could recognize that scent a mile away. I slowly turned around and came face to face...with a tanned neck of the werewolf. I slowly looked up, making eye contact with the boy with white bangs. He was just staring at me with a smirk on his face, and all I did was stare back. He's very handsome.

"Your eyes look the right size now." I finally managed to pull myself together.

His smirk turned into a smile as he chuckled. His mouth was open slightly as he took a half step back, his fangs peeking out of this mouth. He looked down at the ground before looking back into my eyes.

My heart did something weird, and I didn't like it, 'Heart, this is your last chance to stop being stupid.'

"Ya caught me, lil pup." He said, bringing me back to reality.

"Heh," I looked down as my cheeks warmed up and started playing with the hem of my skirt.

"You told me you'd tell me your name another time." I looked back up into his brown eyes, "It's another time."

"I did, didn't I?" With a playful grin on his face, he put his hands on his hips, "It's Wyatt."

"Nice to finally know your name, Wyatt." I turn so my back was to him and playfully looked over my shoulder, "Let's see if you can keep up."

Cheer practice started as the wolves joined us. We would make up a couple of moves, and then the wolves would either copy or do their take on them. Wyatt, of course, was my partner, and I can say I was impressed by how well he danced. I didn't realize it, but I was smiling as we moved together to the sound of the beat. We kept eye contact when possible. There was just something about him that made it impossible for me to look away. Then near the end of practice, Addison pushed me towards a group of guys. I stumbled toward them as they got down low, intertwining their fingers to make a platform for me to step on. She wanted me to get thrown up in the air. Wyatt was one of the boys. He just smiled at me. I smiled back and put my right foot in their hands, using Wyatt's and another guy's shoulder to balance myself, then put my left foot in their hands. I bent my knees, getting ready to push off. Then the guys lifted me slightly, then back down and started to toss me up. I pushed off their hands, and the next thing I knew, I was launched up high into the air, higher than I ever thought possible. As I spun around myself, I realized why Bree wanted to be a flyer...until it came to falling. I closed my eyes tightly as my heart pounded in my chest, afraid the boys would drop me. I felt myself fall into strong, warm arms. I quickly opened my eyes to see his white bangs and his broad smile.

"Good catch." I smiled back, poking his cheek. I was so relieved that I didn't splat on the ground into a pile of mush.

He was still holding me as he smiled at me, "Couldn't let ya get hurt, could I?"

"Whatever, you know, could put me down now."

"I know, " He set me down gently, my white hair was a mess. He leaned forward and tucked a strand behind my ear, "Wolves look out for each other, ya know."

I looked at him, confused, "Well, that's nice. But that doesn't apply to me."

"Hn," His eyebrows went up for a second. Putting his thumbs through his pants' belt loops, he leaned in closer to my face, "You are not a monster (Y/N). You're something great. You're a leader. I can prove it."

I back away from him, slightly upset, "Wyatt, whatever you're talking about, it's not funny."

Staying where he was, giving me my space, Wyatt's brown eyes stared into mine with such a passion I've never seen before. Whatever he was talking about, it was very important to him.

"(Y/N), I'm not messing around. Meet me at the edge of the forest tonight by the gate, so I can show you what I mean."

I don't know why, but I said, "Alright, as soon as the sun sets, I'll be there."

Wyatt smirked, "Great, see ya, then lil pup."

He walked past me and ruffled my hair, which made my face get warm again, and my stomach tie in knots. I turned to yell at him, but I was distracted just by watching him walk away.

There was something about Wyatt, that just made me drawn to him. To his dreamy brown eyes, his cute white bangs, to that oh so sweet smile of his, to his voice, to his scent.

'I don't know who you are Wyatt, or why I trust you, or why you make me feel the way I do. But I have a feeling. Tonight, I'll know why.'
