Chapter 17: ~10 Years Later~
A lot has happened since Cheer Camp all those years ago. Once I graduated from Seabrook High, I moved into the den with the werewolves. Ezra has been teaching me how to be a proper Alpha for when my time comes. Louve and I have become friends, and I've learned to master the ability to turn into a wolf. Wyatt and I have become boyfriend and girlfriend after our first Prawn; we even made it on the Prawn Wall of Fame the next year. The first werewolf couple. Seabrook has changed a lot, in so many good ways. Zombies and werewolves have been fully excepted into the town, and we're all living happy lives. I haven't aged a day since I became a werewolf, which is quite nice. I'm 25 but still look like a teenager. But today is the day; it's my time to become Alpha of my pack.
*(Y/N) POV*
The day has finally arrived, the day I challenge Ezra for the title of Alpha. I was hoping they'd just give it to me since I'm the Great Alpha, but I'm still okay with this. I've been training for the last ten years for this day anyway. But Wyatt and had asked me to meet in on top of the hill before the match, so that's where I was headed right now.
"Hey, Wy, what's up?" I asked as I hopped on top of the hill.
Wyatt was sitting down, looking over Seabrook, his hands folded. His brown orbs glanced my way, his lips curving into a soft smile.
"Come here. I want to give you something before your fight." He said, smiling.
I smiled back at him and took my spot next to him. The memory of when I realized where the moonstone was, came back to me. This was where we shared our first alone moment. He leaned in close to me, his soft lips landing on mine. My heart skipped like it always did. I kissed him back, smiling into the kiss. We held it for a minute before he pulled away.
"Now, once you win, come meet me in Zombietown. I want to show you something then." He kissed my cheek.
"Why can't you show me now?" I asked.
"Because I just can't. Now, go become Alpha." Wyatt smiled.
I smiled back and kissed his cheek before getting up to go back inside. I walked inside the den and walked into my room, pushing the deer hide that was my door to the side. Even though the wolves don't call them rooms, I still do. I changed into the outfit they gave me to fight in. It was similar to my everyday outfit. But my shirt was dark violet and sleeveless. I put on black pants with a tan leather belt. I put on my vest, the one I always wore, and copper toe boots. It was plain, but I didn't need to look pretty for a fight. I emerged from my room, and two wolves waited for me. It was Flare and Owen. I closed my eyes as they put on my battle markings. Two slashes from my jaw bone towards my nose on each side of my face, similar markings from my hairline above my temple, pointing towards my eyebrows. They but three diamonds under each of my eyes, and painted my lips a dark purple. Once they finished, they backed away, letting me walk past them. I entered the main chamber of the den. I looked around, the entire pack was gathered around on the sidelines, and there in the middle of the room was Ezra. His eyes closed as he waited for me. He also had battle markings on his face, but instead of slashes, they were swirls. And instead of diamonds under his eyes, he had one thick slash under each, slightly going past his cheekbones.
I took a deep breath. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. Suddenly, a white head was bobbing up and down in the crowd. My jaw dropped as Addison's face popped up with the help of Zed lifting her, along with their little girl Zelda, who had white hair just like her mom. Zed and Addison got married right after high school. Zed proposed on graduation day, and they got married a year later and had Zelda a few years later. She had a bubbly personality, just like her mother, despite being four years old.
Addison waved, "You got this (Y/N)!"
"You got this!" Little Zelda yelled, smiling.
Seeing them here made my heart swell. I smiled at them, more determined to win then I was before. I turned back to Ezra, who now had his fierce brown eyes wide open. I stepped into the daylight of the cave.
"Ezra!" I yelled and pointed my finger at the older wolf, "I challenge you for the title of Alpha!"
"Challenge, accepted." He lunged at me at the speed of light.
I dodged, 'That was close!'
--
I huffed in exhaustion. The sun was setting as Ezra was far from being tired.
"That all you got?" He snickered.
"You got this!! Don't give up!" I heard the Necrodopolis family cheer.
"Be! Aggressive! B-E aggressive!" Zelda cheered, giggling.
She was too cute. I smiled as I kept breathing heavily. I closed my eyes and tapped the power within me. I felt Louve's energy flow through my veins and bones; my hair glowed light blue. My hearing had gotten better as my ears popped out of the top head, and my white tail swished behind me.
Ezra, however, wasn't going to let me admire myself and lunged at me again. This time, dodging had become more natural, and Ezra appeared slower.
I smirked, 'I know I can win now.'
Ezra and I fought, I through punches as him and he kicked me back. I'd get him from behind, and he'd knock me down. Until finally, he made a mistake. He left himself open, and I took it. I got him square in the jaw. He stumbled backward before he fell to the ground. I walked over to him and gazed at his body. He was holding his jaw and groaned in pain.
My eyes narrowed at him, "Stand down."
He shifted from his back to his knees and bowed his head, "Of course... Alpha."
Joy rushed over me as I cheered in excitement. I had won! Turned away from him and howled, letting the pack know who their Alpha was. The pack howled back in response. Zed and Addison cheered while Zelda joined the wolves and howled too.
I turned back around and held out my hand to Ezra. He smirked and grabbed it as I helped him up.
"I told you I wasn't going to go easy on ya," He chuckled.
"I know, but you lasted all day!" I exclaimed.
Wynter and Willa came up to us.
Wynter hugged me, "Yay! You're going to be the best Alpha!" She looked over my shoulder at Ezra, "no offense."
Ezra howled with laughter, "non taken Wynter! After all, she is the rightful Alpha."
Wynter let go smiling, Willa and I gave each other the handshake we came up with.
"Great job, I didn't think you could fight like that." She smiled.
I laughed nervously, "Yeah, I wasn't too sure I was going to win."
"(Y/N)!! That was amazing! How did you do that?" Zed asked as he and his family walked up.
Zelda was on his shoulders, playing with his green hair, and Addison was walking beside him, smiling.
"Well, practice!" I grinned at them.
"Maybe you can teach me sometime!" Addison elbowed zed.
"She has a pack to run now Zed,"
"Oh, right!" Zed laughed nervously.
"Auntie (Y/N/N)!! Could you teach me how to be a wolf?" Zelda's bright brown eyes sparkled.
I giggled at her, "as long as it's okay with your parents."
"DADDY PLEEEEAASSEE CAN I BE A WOLF?!" Zelda looked over Zed's head to give him puppy eyes.
Zed panicked and looked at Addison, who laughed softly, "Maybe when you're older."
Zelda grinned, "So tomorrow!"
"You're mom said when you're older." Zed picked her up off his shoulders and held her.
Zelda giggled and stuck her tongue out, "but tomorrow I will be a day older then I was today!"
I laughed, "Oh, man. Eliza is rubbing off on her."
Zed sighed, "You have no idea."
It felt like something was missing here. Then, I suddenly remembered, "Wyatt! Shoot, I forgot he wanted to show me something!"
Wynter, Willa, and Addison smiled widely. Zed had to look away from me. Zelda looked at them all confused, along with me.
"You better get going!" Addison started to push me towards the exit grinning.
"What do you know that I don't?" I asked nervously.
"Oh! Nothing~" She smiled and gave me a shove, "Now go!"
"Okay... See y'all later!" I waved as I ran out.
'That was weird,' I thought as I ran into the woods.
*3rd POV*
--Back in the Den--
Addison made sure (Y/N) was gone before she squealed. Wynter joined her and held hands with Addison as they jumped up and down, squealing.
"It's finally happening~!" Addison sang.
"I know, I know! This is so exciting!!" Wynter cheered.
"I'm happy for them," Zed smiled at the cave's exit.
"If she says yes," Willa crossed her arms.
Addison, Wynter, and Zed looked at her like she was dumb. Willa burst out laughing.
"I was kidding? Of course, she is! I saw this coming the moment I first saw them together."
"I thought I was the only one!" Addison clasped her hands together.
"What are you talking about!!!" Zelda yelled, throwing her arms around.
"Grown-up stuff, sweetie," Zed chucked and set her down.
"Hmph! Just wait till I grow up!! Then you'll have to tell me everything!" She kicked up some dirt and crossed her arms as Zed ruffled her white hair.
--
(Y/N) ran through the woods, heading towards Zombietown. Once she made it to the edge of the town, she started sniffing the air, trying to find Wyatt's scent. Once she did, she made her way through her home town.
*(Y/N) POV*
I walked down the side of the street, looking around. I hadn't realized how much time I've been spending in the forest; I haven't been here for a couple of years. Wyatt's scent took me a couple of blocks from my parents' house. There I saw him, his back was turned to me, but he was wearing blue overalls and a white hard hat. I giggled as I snuck up behind him and tapped his shoulder. Wyatt turned around. He was wearing the same glasses too. He looked exactly the same as the day I met him all those years ago.
"Why hello again, lil pup," Wyatt's big brown eyes sparkled.
I laughed, "what's all this?"
"Well, today is the same day that we met, so I decided why not bring back some good memories?" Wyatt smiled.
I poked his nose, "you're too funny."
"(Y/N), since the day we met, right here. In this very spot, my entire world changed," Wyatt started as he looked down at me with such passion and love that my heart felt like it was going to burst.
He gently held my hands in his, "I've been looking for the Great Alpha all my life, and I tried my best to convince myself that's why I was so fascinated by you. You're white hair, your gorgeous (E/C) eyes, your sweet laugh, your bright smile. Within those three days that I first met you, I figured out why I was so drawn to you, and it wasn't because you were a prophecy that promised to save our pack." Wyatt took a deep breath; my heart was racing out of control.
"I realized that you weren't just the girl with white hair; you were the girl with my heart and soul. If you asked me to follow you to the moon and back, I would, and I'd make sure you're smiling the entire way there. I love everything about you (Y/N)... And I want to make sure you're smiling for the rest of your life. And the only way I can see myself helping you do that is..."
My heart was trying to break out of its cage in my chest. I gasped as he got down on one knee, holding my left hand in his. He looks up into my eyes, and his big brown eyes softened as he smiled at me. A light blush crept to his cheeks. Everything seemed so surreal.
"By being blessed by the moon with you."
I covered my mouth as he pulled a stunning ring from his breast pocket. It was gold with little sapphires surrounding a small white pearl.
(((Looks like this)))
Happy tears built up in my eyes as I looked at the ring. I was trying to calm down, but I just couldn't. Tears streamed freely from my eyes.
"Wyatt, yes! A thousand million times, yes!" I was smiling so wide, and I fanned my face trying to stop crying.
Wyatt's lips curved into the broadest grin I ever saw. He slipped the ring on my left ring finger and stood up and opened his arms for me. I happily jumped into his arms and gave him the biggest hug ever. We were laughing and crying together there in the streets of Zombietown.
--
The night had finally arrived, the night Wyatt and I have been planning for months.
The moonblessing ceremony!
Everywolf in the den was excited and was looking forward to this day almost as much as I have. It was almost midnight, the time when the moonblessing would take place. I was currently in my room in the den, with Addison, Bree, Izzy, Wynter, Willa, and my mother. There was so much giggling as they all ran around, trying to make me look my best. My mom had brought a full mirror so I could see myself.
I smiled at my reflection; I didn't care what I looked like. The only this on my mind was Wyatt, and how happy we'll be after the ceremony. The five girls in my room were my bridesmaids, even though werewolves didn't usually have them in the ceremony, there was this exception. They all wore the same dress. It was a light blue that faded to a deeper blue, covered with jewels to resemble the growing night sky. Zelda was also in the room, wearing a child's version of the dress. She was the flower girl. My dress was a moon-white, high low dress. The end of the front came to about my ankles while the back was a small train behind me. This was happening in the dirt, so I didn't want the front of the dress all dirty. My dress was also scattered with jewels that caught the light just right. It was an a-line dress with long lacy sleeves that were off the shoulder. My mother came over to me and placed the vial on my head, years in her eyes.
"I can't believe it... My baby girl is all grown up," She wiped some tears away from her puffy eyes.
"Mama," I hugged her.
"Alright! Its time, are you ready (Y/N)?" Willa asked me, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I smiled at her, "ready as I'll ever be!"
We slowly made our way to the main den, which was all decorated for tonight. Zed stood proudly by Wyatt as his best man. Wyatt was anxiously looking down, waiting for me.
My heart swelled in my chest as I took a deep breath, "this is it."
My dad came for the side up to me, tears in his eyes, "a-are you sure about this?"
I giggled softly and smiled at him, "yes, I've never been more sure."
"Okay," He took my arm, "I don't think I am. It was only yesterday I found you crying in the streets outside our house... How can you be getting married already?"
"Dad, this is big for me too. We git this," I smiled at him softly.
My dad took a deep breath in and held back his tears, "Alright. Let's go."
The only thing I could focus on was Wyatt, standing in the middle of the room, his mouth open as I walked down the aisle with my father. Zed elbowed him and whispered something to him. After that, Wyatt closed his mouth and smiled widely at me. I giggled at him as I came to his side.
"You look absolutely...wolftastic." He smiled at me.
"So do you," I giggled.
Ezra came up to us, wearing his formal wear and holding an old book.
"We gather here today to bless these two wolves in the light of the full moon!" Ezra announced as he placed his hand on the book and opened it.
"Wyatt, (Y/N). Take your moonstones off please," Ezra's finger scanned a page in the book and stopped when he found what he was looking for.
Wyatt and I looked at each other as we removed our necklaces. And held them between us.
Ezra looked up at the moon and held his arms up, still holding the book, "Awoh lo uva, awo pa uf pa lunarrwo!"
Suddenly Wyatt's and mine moonstones began to glow, then like magnets snapped together. I could feel it, and I know he did too. The moon shone brighter over us, illuminating us with blue light. The moon had built a connection between him and me. I could feel it.
The pack around us sung with their howls to the moon. Wyatt and I put our moonstones back on and smiled at each other. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist. Our lips crashed together, sending sparks through both our bodies.
This was all I ever dreamed of, all I ever wanted. I found my place. My life. My lover. Now we're bounded and blessed by the beautiful moon that hangs in the sky.
"You are now, Wyatt and (Y/N) Lykensen! Male and Female Alpha of the pack! Husband and wife!" Ezra announced, a proud smile on his face.
Wyatt and I broke the kiss that sealed our fate, holding hands we ran out of the den together. Laughing and smiling. As I looked into his dreamy brown eyes, my heart skipped. His brown hair flowed in the air as we ran together, side by side.
I wasn't just some strange thing that no one knew what to do with anymore. I was a werewolf—a leader. And now, the wife of the person I loved the most in this world. And I couldn't be happier.
